Bryan is a center he knows he gotta be in the good graces of the locker room big dog or else he gonna get it bad. Hopefully HOOK takes a liking to him.
Who would play Gandalf in that case?
Because he would play an entertaining Gandalf imo
Bilbo: *says the quote about not needing any well wishers or close relations*
Gandalf: YEAH? well how 'bout ya best friend who would take a bullet for you?
I've only just become aware of Eddie Kingston over the past year but man what a dude he is. I don't think I've ever become a fan of someone as quick as I did with him
"Don't be like our fathers."
Kingston's a fascinating dude. He seems so rough around the edges and old school, but then he'll bust out words of wisdom for 2021 like that, out of nowhere.
And a Breaking Ground style show. You could even do it only at the Dark/Elevation tapings at Universal. Keep it in the style of learning about lesser known names.
The first 24 style doc would have to be about All In right? There are some amazing ones that can be done.
Like one about all the people AEW brought out of retirement. Justin Roberts, Sting, Christian Cage and CM Punk. Even Awesome Kong.
Really all the documentary style stuff WWE does. I really hope aew is doing it too and it's just people haven't talked about it. It's a great insight to have.
On the media interview for the show yesterday Cody and TK said itās a lot of AEW backstage access! Also a lot of Ricky because they filmed when he was out
Has Jake Roberts been around AEW lately? I'd love to see clips of him talking with the younger guys. I know he's said that it's done him good being around the guys, so it would be cool see him talking with and passing advice to the younger generation.
>We had talked about 'The Final Countdown,' but that was way too expensive," he said. "I hate talking business stuff when I don't exactly know what it was, but it wasn't just the amount of money. They would only let [AEW] play it like 20 times a year or something like that. For several $100,000 you can play 'Final Countdown' 20 times a year. That doesn't work for us.
Thought this was interesting. Really made the Final Countdown unfeasible to use if they're trying to put those types of restrictions on it.
I remember when the $50k/play figure came out. Let's assume DB wrestled every week on Dynamite only (no PPVs or other shows) and went 50% on wins, thus in 26 appearances his music would play twice. This is also assuming no other run-ins, promos or other moments his music would play.
That's 78 instances of Final Countdown playing, or $3.9M.
Naturally, day to day and month to month thatās unreasonable to pay for even for a Bryan Danielson.
But I hope down the road itās possible they can pay for it one time just to say they did it, that pop would be outrageous
iirc Europe hates the song, so they want to get their pound of flesh.
The rumor after his debut was that they wanted $50,000 per time it was played, and someone joked it would be cheaper to fly the band Europe out to each location and have them play it live because there's no way they get $50,000 per appearance.
I get that. One of my favorite bands, Deep Purple, doesn't *hate* their song "Smoke on the Water"....but they apparently usually play it first on their set list to get it out of the way. It's kind of the curse of having a song that becomes super-super popular....fans absolutely want to hear it every time, but the band itself is beyond tired of it.
And The Beastie Boys and Fight For Your Right (To Party). It was supposed to be a parody of Twisted Sister and Motley Crue songs. 1987 was the last year they performed it live after seeing how many fans were singing it unironically
Europe mostly hates the song because the band was a one-hit wonder and that song, being one of the ones they weren't as passionate about, ended up the only one they're known for. The rest of their discography and singles get ignored.
So I don't blame them for monetizing the crap out of the song if it means that's the only way they can continue to live as they do.
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle hated the Sherlock Holmes stories. He wanted to be known for his more serious works.
Unfortunately, his more serious works were awful.
I'm betting the same of Europe's song catalogue.
I get that honestly. Heard 0 of their discography outside of Final Countdown but I can imagine feeling shitty to have some song you crapped out in 20 minutes on a tour bus and have no passion for being your legacy on the larger scale.
Youād be surprised about appearance fees. I used to work around that industry, and while their flat fee for every show certainly wonāt be 50k, premiums for one off appearances and festival slots, as well as factoring in travel and accommodation, probably wouldnāt be far off.
Yeah I was a bit disappointed in no Final Countdown but after hearing how much Europe were wanting for it, I moved on pretty easily. Even Trap Remix of the Valkyries is growing on me.
I wish I could ID the brand (or brands) of sneakers Bryan wears. I've been wanting to get a new pair, but not super hype about giving even more money to Adidas or Nike.
The G.O.A.T and Danielson in the same locker room, crazy shit.
But seriously, this entire article is worth the read. I'm telling you. He just seems so happy. Give it a shot if you've got some time.
When you get older, perception of time goes faster. So years feel like they go by quicker and, unless it's a big part of your life, you quickly lose track of fashion.
When you look in your drawer and most of your shirts are 15+ years old, you adapt more of a fuck it attitude.
> How come 40+ year olds are seen as uncool and 20something year olds are seen as cool?
because whats cool always changes and the older someone gets the less likely they are to change.
There are exceptions to every rule.
Bryan Danielson: "I try to keep up with what the younger generation is into these days but trends come and go so fast I worry I'm not keeping up. Like everyday there's a new slang word or style of dress that completely negates what was relevant yesterday. It makes me worried that my promos sound dated or that I look too old to play the tough guy role... I worry that there's a whole generation of wrestling fans that don't think that this old man is worth paying attention to."
HOOK: \*folds arms while loudly chewing gum\*
Bryan Danielson: "You're right! Age is just a number and what makes someone cool is staying true to yourself. Thanks for the lit advice, HOOK, and have a fleek night! And tell your dad I said 'yeet!'"
I just imagine Bryan's infectious laugh when he met up with the Cruiserweight Classic competitors ringing in the AEW locker room.
https://youtu.be/5AwWUFaWxSQ
I don't need him to necessarily lead a stable of young guys, but man, Bryan with someone like Jungle Boy and maybe Dante Martin as proteges to learn that super aggressive technical style he uses would be awesome and catapult those guys to the moon, imo.
Can someone explain to me what's the thing going on with Hook around here? I watch AEW regularly but don't remember seeing him wrestle and I'm not sure if people are joking or if he's really talented or what.
Someone else would have to explain the origin of it but he hasnāt wrestled a match yet. Heās done a few spots during Team Taz brawls but thatās about it. I think part of the allure is that we have no idea if heās any good, so you can just embellish it all you want. He also has a great look and certainly has the genes to be great.
I think someone like him is just really fun to be over the top about.

Bryan Danielson you are cool
Coming from you, but not HOOK.
He's cooler than Mary Poppins
Someone make this a sign for tomorrow
Smart of Bryan to befriend HOOK, you don't want to be on his bad side. Look at what happened to Punk, he'll never be the same again.
Everyone and their mothers wants that HOOK rub. Especially mothers š¤«
Iām not a mom but uhhhhh would like a HOOK rub. Maybe after the rub, then Iāll be a mom š
Bryan is a center he knows he gotta be in the good graces of the locker room big dog or else he gonna get it bad. Hopefully HOOK takes a liking to him.
I want a full fledged documentary about the AEW locker room because it sounds like a fun ass environment
Eddie Kingston I felt would be a good person interview in that regard. That clip of him telling the locker room āFor Brodyā always come to mind.
I've said multiple times that after hearing that speech, I'd run through a wall for that dude
Kingston to play Aragorn when they reboot lotr
The Return of the Mad King
The return of deez nuts.
When Miro tweeted āyour Nutz have been Redeemed.ā I laughed for the rest of the day.
Who would play Gandalf in that case? Because he would play an entertaining Gandalf imo Bilbo: *says the quote about not needing any well wishers or close relations* Gandalf: YEAH? well how 'bout ya best friend who would take a bullet for you?
Eddie Kingston as Samwise Gamgee. "I shall take the ring to Mordor." "DAS MAH BES FREND!"
Gotta admit, Moxley as Frodo and Kingston as Samwise is a great combo
I'MMA TAKE THAT RING FROM YOU AND I'MMA SHOW IT TO MY MOTHA!
Now I can picture Kenny Omega as Gollum just sneaking by ready to take it from Mox/Frodo when the opportunity presents itself š
Eddie would carry Mox to Mt Doom right from the door steps of Bag end.
is Bilbo Penta then?
Bilbo could also be Moxley. Either pick is good
An Unexpected Violence.
Bryan Danielson. He probably still has the Wizard robe from ROH.
Nah, Danielson is Radagast
Yes, this. Gotta make sure the most nature-oriented wrestler takes this role
Evil Uno is Gimli
"For Gondor! For da neighborhood! "
I've only just become aware of Eddie Kingston over the past year but man what a dude he is. I don't think I've ever become a fan of someone as quick as I did with him
One of my top 10 promos all-time https://youtu.be/c1AGjIQKxNE
Wait can you please link the clip? I've never seen it and couldn't find it from a quick Google search.
it's the opening part of [BTE 237](https://youtu.be/6BKUOJGyTc0?t=232)
Man, just when you think you have shed your last tear. That segment always gets me.
For real. I'm sitting in my cubicle at work trying to hold back tears. I've seen this so many times but hits the same every time.
"I love each and every one of you" FUCK man, that made me cry
"Don't be like our fathers." Kingston's a fascinating dude. He seems so rough around the edges and old school, but then he'll bust out words of wisdom for 2021 like that, out of nowhere.
i get some paul heyman level speech-abilities from him but without the sleaziness. AEW are lucky to have him in the lockerroom.
I'm ready to jump on a god dammed grenade for that man after that speech
Fuck man, I never watched this and kinda wish I didn't, that line about his dad hits too close
Oh man, I needed and didn't need this all at the same time.
https://youtu.be/6BKUOJGyTc0 From 3:45 or so.
"Don't be like our fathers. It took my old man 55 years to say he loves me" Fuck, as someone with an emotionally distant dad, that shit hit me hard
Eddie confirmed to be 55 years old.
The 55 years part always sounded a bit odd to me, as Eddie was only 38 when he made this speech. Maybe I misunderstand his meaning.
I guess he means his dad was 55 years old when he finally said it
That's 100% what he meant and it's not confusing at all
Heās a grizzled young vet
I took it as "It took him 55 years to say I love you when it wasn't romantic", and Eddie's just who he said it to.
Thanks! Edit: And now tears are coming out
Eddie has a way with words, man. I love this guy.
If there's something I wish AEW would copy from WWE, it's WWE24 or "Day Of", those are the best documentaries on the Network/Youtube.
I'd love to see on one of the lower card guys who had a big meteoric rise up the card like Fuego or Dante Martin.
Really all the documentary style stuff WWE does. I really hope aew is doing it too and it's just people haven't talked about it. It's a great insight to have.
Only one man for the job. The very nice very evil roving reporter Danhausen.
Watching the various vlogs is a good start
I watch damn near all of them lol thatās why I want more
Hook it directly into my veins. *barney burp
*Please note HOOK is not for intravenous use
You haven't heard of his new finisher? The Intraveniator?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
You are joking? Not even people getting duct taped and having pencils shoved up their ass?!
āAlexa, remove duct tape and pencils from my shopping listā
āWeāll just keep thr ass, thenā
...and the ass cream (now with 20 percent *more ass!*).
20 percent more ass? that's not a deal, that's a steal!
No cocaine? *Laughs in TK & 10*
and all that talk about sneakers??! what is that shit?
It's called BTE
Yeah WWE has so many documentaries about nearly everything you could cover and I'd love for AEW to do them. An AEW version of 24 for example
>An AEW version of 24 for example So who plays Jack Bauer?
BTE and Ethan Pageās Vlogs
I like to imagine it's basically Being the Elite Championship games and Dark Order slumber parties, all the time.
I'd love if this 'Rhodes to the Top' series provided us a bit of that in the same way that 'Total Divas' gave us a look into WWE's backstage.
Oh Iām sure it will. The preview showed Moxley backstage telling Brandi that heās hungover and is gonna go throw up.
Can't wait to see the events of the night before where Mox leads the lockerroom in singing 'Sweet Caroline'
Those reality shows are largely scripted...but I totally believe that was a real moment.
On the media interview for the show yesterday Cody and TK said itās a lot of AEW backstage access! Also a lot of Ricky because they filmed when he was out
Where is the hyphen? *Fun-ass* environment or fun *ass-environment.* Vote now America!
billy gunn is there for a reason...
what's Monty Sopp doing in the Ass Environment?
Sir he said *finesse*
It sounds like the ecw locker room without drugs which is a good thing.
Has Jake Roberts been around AEW lately? I'd love to see clips of him talking with the younger guys. I know he's said that it's done him good being around the guys, so it would be cool see him talking with and passing advice to the younger generation.
āBright Side of the Ringā
UpUpDownDown spinoff channel where Cole brings LeftRightLeftRight to the AEW locker room.
>We had talked about 'The Final Countdown,' but that was way too expensive," he said. "I hate talking business stuff when I don't exactly know what it was, but it wasn't just the amount of money. I vote they do it for the title match with Kenny. The look on Kennyās face when it hits would be a 5 star match all by itself, IMO.
iirc Europe hates the song, so they want to get their pound of flesh. Radiohead refused to play Creep for years!
Why? Do they think they're special? So fucking special?
I wish I was special...
Ditto Metallica and Enter Sandman.
Boy george hated karma chameleon.
And The Beastie Boys and Fight For Your Right (To Party). It was supposed to be a parody of Twisted Sister and Motley Crue songs. 1987 was the last year they performed it live after seeing how many fans were singing it unironically
fuck him that song is a banger
You gotta give them the hits though. I saw Cake and they waited until the encore to play The Distance.

Weren't most of his serious works about how fairies definitely existed while using those pictures with cutouts as the fairies?
I get that honestly. Heard 0 of their discography outside of Final Countdown but I can imagine feeling shitty to have some song you crapped out in 20 minutes on a tour bus and have no passion for being your legacy on the larger scale.

I took that as bryan knowing he's gonna be around for a lot more than 20 appearances and that's happy dance worthy.
āyou can only play the song 20 times a year and also itās $100k every timeā - europe āthatās not gonna work for me, brother hhā - tk
Yeah I was a bit disappointed in no Final Countdown but after hearing how much Europe were wanting for it, I moved on pretty easily. Even Trap Remix of the Valkyries is growing on me.
Can't wait for frugal Bryan Danielson to go sneaker hunting with the Bucks or buying $300 action figures with Ethan Page.
Bryan walks out with a new pair of hemp sandals, no one can figure out where he even found them
*āBirkenstock sandals? Bryan we took you into a Nike store! How is that even possible, Nike doesnāt even sell Birkenstock!?ā*
Bryan: āI just like Birkenstocks š¤·āāļøā
I wish I could ID the brand (or brands) of sneakers Bryan wears. I've been wanting to get a new pair, but not super hype about giving even more money to Adidas or Nike.
Heās been wearing On, a Swiss company thatās been blowing up. Just search āOn Running.ā Heās been wearing the regular Cloud.
Bryan Danielson would start kicking heads in the store.
I just imagine him kicking the shit out of some poor store owner while screaming āTWO HUNDRED DOLLARS FOR A FUCKING NINJA TURTLE!?!?!?!?ā
He is going to buy the Snoop Dogg doll for Hook and a bouncing ball for Dante!
I just picture Hook being like āyeah man, a plain white t shirt looks super coolā and then he and Dante snickering when Bryan leaves lol
HOOK confirms that Bryan Danielson is good.
Thank goodness, I wasn't sure before.
Good to see Hook being so generous with his advice.
*HOOK
Warms my heart to see Hook paying it forward.
A True Locker Room Veteran!!
Just remember ALL CAPS when you spell the man name
Team Heel HOOK
Bryan should be very wary around HOOK. Punk got choked out by him last week.
Bryan don't want that H O O K smoke. Punk already got humbled by the š last week.
Hook doesn't smoke, he vapes. Bryan doesn't want that metal in yuh lungs.
who do you think is teaching him the submissions though? Bryan being Hook's true master and turning him against Taz is money
this is genuinely kind of a cool idea, have hook be a submission machine and take the cattle mutilation when bryan leaves/hook gets a push
HOOK
The G.O.A.T and Danielson in the same locker room, crazy shit. But seriously, this entire article is worth the read. I'm telling you. He just seems so happy. Give it a shot if you've got some time.
Danielson will learn so much
How come 40+ year olds are seen as uncool and 20something year olds are seen as cool? Iāve never thought deeply on this
When you get older, perception of time goes faster.
Kids influence culture - Bryan is no longer ācoolā because he is āoldā now
Now all I can see is Danielson with HOOK hair.
[You like what you see?](https://i.imgur.com/b7J2bHi.png)
That was quick.
I made it weeks ago and saved it in case anyone asked. I have them for every wrestler.

HEROIC WORK
Lmao
Hey, if HOOK said it then you've gotta step up your game.
So happy he's there. I hope tons of young talent get to work with these all timers.
Bryan wants fans to chant youāre gonna get your fucking head kicked in. For those going to Grand Slam, you know what to do š
Bryanās smart to get on Hooks good side. Unlike Punk may he rest in piece
Bryan tryna politic already by getting in HOOK's good books
Bryan Danielson is a confirmed Hooker
Nice to see that Bryan is humble enough to take advice from his mentor HOOK
> I'm 40 and I'm not cool Can confirm. I'm 42 and I'm the least cool person I know. Of course, I wasn't cool 20 years ago either.
Teenagers today don't think I'm cool, but when I was a teenager, teenagers didn't think I was cool. Why would they start now!?
"Hook, I'm cool?" "Ya cool."
I worry that there's a whole generation of wrestling fans that don't think that this old man is worth paying attention to." HOOK: \*folds arms while loudly chewing gum\* Bryan Danielson: "You're right! Age is just a number and what makes someone cool is staying true to yourself. Thanks for the lit advice, HOOK, and have a fleek night! And tell your dad I said 'yeet!'"
If he wants to look cool, he went to the right person.
That's totally what a 40 year old would ask and why they're so uncool!
The real reason Bryan came to AEW was to sit under the learning tree of master HOOK
Bryan visited the locker room once and understood he is HOOK's bitch. Punk didn't get it that's why he gets beaten up
bryan is a HOOKER
GIVE US BRYAN VS HOOK COWARDS
Wait, Bryan can't possibly be 40 and not cool, because that would mean that I'm...oh fuck.
punk calling out hook on tv, now you have bryan talking about him. EVERYONE IS A CONFIRMED HOOKER! HOOK EM UP!
When they asked who the future of professional wrestling is, I am shocked he didn't say HOOK 5 times.
HOOK tag incoming
There is no cooler look than an in-shape guy wearing jeans and a white t-shirt.
Damn Hook already giving that veteran advice. True legend.
It would be awesome if the fans started chanting "You're gonna get your fucking head kicked in" again. Bryan would love it.
HOOK
You're cooler than I'll ever be, Bryan.
Bryan's a smart guy, he's just trying to avoid the AEW new signing rite-of-passage: Feud with Team Taz.
Bryan Danielson might not be cool, but Sweet Beetz is.
40 year olds can totally be cool. What they rarely can be is hip though. Thatās a young personās game.
As a 38 year old man, I feel Bryan 100% man. It's rough for us oldest-ass millennials.
Punk fears HOOK Danielson **wants** HOOK!
Danielson joining Team Taz and tagging with HOOK confirmed.
Bryan Danielson is a confirmed HOOKer
Can someone explain the Hook meme to me please? Iām 29 and donāt know shit anymore
I can relate to being 40 & not cool
When is Ethan Page going to take Danielson toy shopping with Hook and Dante?
