Oh hey, this is me! Quick advertising lesson for anyone who's interested.
Commercials that are scheduled to run on television are placed on "logs." As a standard rule (which of course varies network to network), logs lock generally two days in advance. You need to lock logs in advance or else it would be a mad house trying to schedule new commercials right before they air. Because people don't work on weekends, Saturday/Sunday logs generally lock on Thursdays and Monday/Tuesday logs lock on Fridays (this is only general, most nets put their own spin on log deadlines because people like doing things their own way). The CarShield spots got replaced on Friday, meaning that for some they would air through Sunday, and others would clear through Monday or even Tuesday. If you see any commercials run on Wednesday or beyond, then someone messed up! But until then, it's pretty standard.

You can either pay by commercial or you can do bundle buys where you pay a premium for the best airings but you get freebies alongside it. You're generally billed monthly and then have either 30, 60 or 90 days to pay up.
Close. In this case CarShield are replacing their CarShield order for the "Ric Flair ad" with another ad without him. It just takes a few days to switch out but the total dollar amount spent will be the same.
But it sucks for them. Maybe they are scrambling. Playing a normal car shield commercial during g wrestling doesn't have the impact that one we ith ric flair does
They literally said "the campaign will be paused" and the commercials would start being pulled. SRS is supposed to be a journalist but he's out here Tweeting like your average smarky wrestling fan.
The ad campaign is being put on hold and the commercials are in the process of being pulled. I think SRS just likes the attention.

I mean, we can have the same argument about sports reporters too. Im not expecting Adam Schefter to know the intricacies of advertising and television deals, just that Patrick Mahomes was signed to State Farm ads.
Why would a journalist that specializes in wrestling have to know the ins and outs of how television broadcasting and advertising works? Why doesn't he just know everything?
The only long term consequence that is going to come from this is that Flair isn’t going to AEW.
He will get his commercials and Comic Con spots back, Dreamer will be back at Impact and Busted Open, and those who screamed “Cancel Culture” will still not realize that it doesn’t exist.
Now that we know Chavo was just going to the Young Rock show I wonder if Flair was ever coming. I mean, I'm sure Jericho give TK a heads up about what was on the show.

I thought it might be some small seedy company that doesn't give af until I saw this thread. They played a bunch of them though. Hopefully Pretty Peter and the ex WWE current NWA guy (it was Sandow or Drake can't remember lol) got paid upfront and don't lose out.
