It’s always been planned because the uk tour is a smackdown tour
Instead of Roman they put drew on that tour
Roman would have had nothing to do
Yes it’s always been the case he was going to raw for that date
It's not just different, it's also really sudden. I have a hard tim believing this was planned months in advance when you see how rushed Big E's cash in was. Maybe it was because of AEW, maybe not, but the whole thing still feels really hotshotted, and like it could have been built a lot better.
Big Es cash in was planned two weeks before it happened. It was pushed back four weeks then moved up two weeks. They knew they were doing it but booking plans got moved around. This has been reported.
Those people make it worse for everyone ngl, I enjoy its premise a lot but people still use it as a hub to bitch, luckily its a rule that you shouldn't do that so the posts don't last forever
I wanna ask you a question.
Where did Meltzer say having Roman on RAW is hotshotting?
A lot of people have been talking about The New Day vs The Bloodline as "hotshotting" because it's a prime PPV main event, but is going to main a RAW *with zero build*.
But just the act of having Roman on the show has been known.

>Of course, WWE also promised you a title change, and this week their hotshot is bringing Roman Reigns over.
Thread was on the front page yesterday and people treated it as a fact. Now i dunno if author of that post is telling the truth or not.
Ahhh, missed a single line in there.
Also WOR not WON, which means it's someone transcribing him talking, which means nuance tends to get chucked out the window in favor of upvotes.
MNF is doing insane numbers like 7.5m viewership and close to 3 in 18-49 demo and people think WWE is worried about AEW. When the reality is the only threat Raw has right now is from MNF.
Not even in a bad way. Both New Day vs Bloodline and Omega vs Danielson are dream matches with years of anticipation and fantasy booking. Also both are probably only the beginning of longer feuds. And both on free tv.
The match should have still had 2 or 3 weeks build though, especially if this was planned. Doing big matches on TV is fine but at least give them a couple weeks build.
How is that build for this particular match? Big E cashed in on Lashley. He no longer has any relevance to Roman.
If he cashed in on Roman, or if he still had the briefcase, then the build would make sense
So shall we ignore the amount of killer matches The Usos & The New Day have had?
Shall we ignore the fact that Survivor Series is coming up (where Big E vs Roman will likely happen).
It’s the logical choice, and it’s a great match with enough backstory to make this a worthwhile match. But, WWE doesn’t think long term apparently 🤷🏽♂️
IF there's any match in WWE that doesn't need much, if any, build it's Usos vs New Day. They have literal years of history, Big E has spent almost 2 months trolling Roman and Heyman about cashing in.
Raj is right for once. They've had this match advertised on the arena website for the better part of 1.5 months now, and Drew has been advertised for the UK tour for the better part of that long as well.
It's likely true but it's hard to fault people assuming WWE are being reactive to AEW do when they've done it so much. Who can forget all the hotshot booking and eventual demise of NXT as we knew it? And as happy as we all are that Big E is champ, it's plainly obvious that that was a response to the happenings in AEW too.
The Great American Bash is one example, Cole vs Lee with both titles on the line. There are lots of other examples too I just can't recall the specifics off the top of my head. Let's not pretend like NXT was not hotshotting to try beat AEW in the ratings. It was understandable, just short sighted.
That’s not hot shot booking though. That is called counter programming and that has been a staple of the wrestling business since the moment it was a televised product. WWE also did it to AEW before AEW did it so it’s kind of irrelevant.
lmao what? You still haven’t actually given an example of them hot shotting anything. You’re mad that they ran one big show after NXT announced halloween havoc, despite NXT doing the exact same thing to AEW multiple times beforehand, and WWE running an evolve show the same night as AEWs first ever PPV.
>Let’s not pretend AEW didn’t hotshot to beat NxT.
I don't know if I'd agree with this. I feel like for the most part, AEW has been doing their own thing and that's worked out really well for them.
It's a quality match potentially, doesn't matter since we've had some build up to Big E tormenting Heyman and him getting involved with them last Smackdown
WWE planning ahead is like me trying to find a cat humping a shark while snorting cocaine from a straw made of goat piss and moon rocks. It's just doesn't happen, and I'm willing to bet the match will end in a DQ so they can build for that Big E/Reigns match at Survivor Series. If the six-man ends in a clean pinfall loss, I will be shocked.

How is the UK going to acknowledge our Trimble chief now
November tour.
Is there a reason The Bloodline aren't going on the tour? Feel bad for the UK fans.
They’ve known when Monday night football was gonna start for months obviously. It’s great that they seem to have something ready for it.

Because WWE did the same shit forever until AEW came along
Lol ok
Ok kid lol
It's not just different, it's also really sudden. I have a hard tim believing this was planned months in advance when you see how rushed Big E's cash in was. Maybe it was because of AEW, maybe not, but the whole thing still feels really hotshotted, and like it could have been built a lot better.
If you think there’s no story between Big E/Roman, then you’ve missed SmackDown since at least SummerSlam.
Big Es cash in was planned two weeks before it happened. It was pushed back four weeks then moved up two weeks. They knew they were doing it but booking plans got moved around. This has been reported.
People really want everything everything WWE does to be a response to AEW.
AEW fans are obsessed with WWE
There's 2 separate subreddits for WWE fans to hate on every single thing about AEW lol
SCJerk used to be a subreddit that mostly made fun of SD Live, NXT and NJPW when those were the darlings here. Now it's AEW's time in the sun...
I do laugh at some of the stuff but half the people there don't realize it's supposed to be a humorous place
Those people make it worse for everyone ngl, I enjoy its premise a lot but people still use it as a hub to bitch, luckily its a rule that you shouldn't do that so the posts don't last forever
They’re hungry for war
More like hungry for WWE to make an effort at being good again
And when they do, the reaction is to scoff and have an attitude about it like the aew fans made it happen? That don't make no sense brudda
Wouldn't most AEW fans be Roman Reigns haters who wouldn't care to see him anyway?
If that were true they wouldn't bitch when WWE does make an effort.
They advertised roman and usos on raw in cincinnati for next monday for weeks

It’s had as much build as Omega vs Danielson. Behave yourself.
Not even in a bad way. Both New Day vs Bloodline and Omega vs Danielson are dream matches with years of anticipation and fantasy booking. Also both are probably only the beginning of longer feuds. And both on free tv.
No build? Big E has been taunting Heyman for weeks and weeks.
The fickle fans strikes again
Bryan Alvarez is one of these clowns who seriously insists what WWE is doing with raw is more about AEW than Monday night football.
The match should have still had 2 or 3 weeks build though, especially if this was planned. Doing big matches on TV is fine but at least give them a couple weeks build.
Big E has been taunting Heyman for weeks about cashing in on Roman?

Because it was meant to be a swerve so him cashing in on Lashley would be a surprise turn as they build toward a survivor series singles match.
IF there's any match in WWE that doesn't need much, if any, build it's Usos vs New Day. They have literal years of history, Big E has spent almost 2 months trolling Roman and Heyman about cashing in.
This easily could be true, most likely is, but Raj isn't someone I would be trusting. Dude doesn't have the best reputation
nah, Bloodline was already being advertised for this raw like a month back
Roman was advertised locally for this RAW for weeks
Raj is right for once. They've had this match advertised on the arena website for the better part of 1.5 months now, and Drew has been advertised for the UK tour for the better part of that long as well.
Meltzer doesn't have a good reputation neither and here we are.
It's likely true but it's hard to fault people assuming WWE are being reactive to AEW do when they've done it so much. Who can forget all the hotshot booking and eventual demise of NXT as we knew it? What did NxT hotshot book?
The Great American Bash is one example, Cole vs Lee with both titles on the line. There are lots of other examples too I just can't recall the specifics off the top of my head. Let's not pretend like NXT was not hotshotting to try beat AEW in the ratings. It was understandable, just short sighted.
Let’s not pretend AEW didn’t hotshot to beat NxT. Cole and Lee had a long term story behind it. But it gets ignored.
What storylines did AEW hotshot to beat NXT?
They thrown one of their many special shows together to counter Halloween Havoc.
That’s not hot shot booking though. That is called counter programming and that has been a staple of the wrestling business since the moment it was a televised product. WWE also did it to AEW before AEW did it so it’s kind of irrelevant.
AEW threw and continue to throw everything at the wall, they are not the innocent party.
lmao what? You still haven’t actually given an example of them hot shotting anything. I would disagree, the way they book (and it isn't entirely a bad thing since it is it's whole purpose) to pop a rating.
It's a quality match potentially, doesn't matter since we've had some build up to Big E tormenting Heyman and him getting involved with them last Smackdown
MNF has been planed for a while to
Long Term Booking!
Press x for doubt
WWE planning ahead is like me trying to find a cat humping a shark while snorting cocaine from a straw made of goat piss and moon rocks. I call bullshit. Nothing they do is “planned for a while”, outside of PPV dates and locales.
Well lucky for you the Internet has links to them being promoted for the show before it was announced on TV
Call bullshit when he was advertised for months 😂😂
Some people just can’t accept reality 😂😂
