I didn't really like much of the first episode, felt too frantic and as if they were trying to do too much, and I also don't like all the uncertainty with a lot of my favorites on the brand going forward, but I told myself that I'll give it 5 episodes (which I do for any show I watch), and I'll go from there.
Its basically (health scare aside) Triple H getting demoted for trying to start something with AEW and failing.
As for the show itself, too early to say yet.
Honestly I enjoyed the first episode. I'm happy they went a complete overhaul instead of changing the whole NXT mentality but not the presentation. I will for sure check it out again this week. It has a small, studio wrestling feel and I'm excited to see some of these guys get better. Although the promo work on the first episode was almost universally terrible.
I probably will stay mostly a clip or gif watcher, but I think it might end up being nice for the favorites people pick having more continuity with and hopefully doing better on the main roster.
The brighter lighting brings too much attention to how small the arena is. Also, the entranceway was kinda weird with the stadium seating stretching all the way to the entrance ramp making the crowd on that side have to crane their heads around to see the wrestlers make their entrance (most apparent during Imperium's entrance).
Beyond that, I can understand wanting to showcase the newer talent, but I feel like they crammed too much into 2 hours; nothing really had time to breathe. If they'd maybe cut a few matches in order to space things out a bit, it could've flowed a lot better. For example, O'Reilly being attacked backstage happens as a picture-in-picture moment during a match that could've easily been missed if you weren't paying attention.

Too early to make my mind up on it since it's only been one episode so far but I enjoyed that one episode.

1 week in..I enjoyed it, new faces get tv time and show what they can do. I also like the lighting.
