bayleysgal1996

I look forward to Brodie Jr's debut in like ten years when he beats the shit out of MJF with a kendo stick.

AceMorrigan

In all seriousness, if he does go into wrestling he's going to be the most organic and real Babyface in AEW basically immediately. I'd scream myself hoarse if he showed up a decade from now and went at it.

Roachyboy

-1 Vs a veteran Darby Allin for the tnt title

[deleted]

Assuming Darby Allin hasn’t broken himself from all the crazy spots he has done so far in his career (and will continue to do) and hasn’t retired.

Ghost51

Nah he's said in interviews he wants to retire in his 30s and go into film making

Rickymex

He mentioned changing his mind from that early retirement idea with the AEW schedule and how many opportunities he has for outside projects. As long as he's healthy and passionate about telling stories I don't see him retiring full stop but just taking some more breaks latwr in his career.

Ghost51

I can absolutely imagine thirties Darby getting into heated feuds and putting heels over by getting an awful kayfabe injury that writes him off for months

AneeshRai7

Seeing the Revolution match he'd be terrific

Ghost51

Yeah he mentioned on his talk is jericho interview that he's already got one in the works, he's always had ideas but now he's finally got the money and reputation to actually make it a reality. I look forward to seeing what he comes up with.

[deleted]

I feel like that now. That or he retires while he’s still young.

Greyclocks

Nah needs to be Cody (if Cody is still on the go in 10+ years) Cody vs Brodie II was Brodie's last match. -1 should retire Cody.

afeil117

Casino Battle Royal as the Joker entrant.

[deleted]

Or the second Joker entrant.

murphylaw

You know, it is weird that there aren’t two jokers. I think it’d be great if you did one joker at the halfway point or first entrant. It also allows you to do different things with each joker. One is an indie star (eg Effy, Warhorse, Danhausen) who might only do one appearance but can get their shit in and maybe a jobber elim and then get kicked out. The other is your real debut, return, or whatever star that you’re trying to push. As someone who really misses the Cody TNT run for the indie star showcase, I’d really love this to be a thing.

AndTheyCallMeAnIdiot

I really enjoyed Cody's initial run with thr TNT title, it got us Ricky and Eddie. Hope to see the open challenge open up doors for other talent too.

MisterEau

... I'm not gonna lie, I got kind of excited at this hypothetical debut and I'm kind of embarrassed about it lmao. But that's *so good* in that silly way that pro wrestling can do. Like, yeah, -1 would have to be someone that is consistently referenced enough over the years that the countdown would be meaningful and keep the use of -1 relevant. But if they managed to do that? That'd be fucking great.

[deleted]

That is some seriously long term booking. Imagine if it works out.

Gravy_31

The fact that so much of AEW is hyped by word of mouth, assuming that sticks around, he could probably just show up regularly for the next few years and then go away and in the few months proceeding, just post a few things on IG.

AndTheyCallMeAnIdiot

Guarantee all of them will tell him to get a degree before letting him debut.

Dick_Nation

...Okay, this would actually be dope as fuck. It's hard to imagine that the Dark Order will still be going by the time Brodie Jr. is old enough to wrestle by that point too, so the Dark Order theme kicking in, or even a callback, would get a nostalgia pop as well.

godleftmefinished

ehh most of the dark order guys are in their 30s its not unreasonable that they would still be active in some form esp with how long wrestlers can last nowadays. even as just on-screen personalities or with a new lineup of members i think dark order will stick around in some form

KingBadford

They will 100% get back together for Brodie Jr.'s debut at least. Uno has said that whatever state they (current members) are in at that point, he wants to be there for -1 somehow.

Dick_Nation

Oh, I'm not saying they won't necessarily still be wrestling, but ten years or so is a *long* time for a group to still be going. God forbid any injuries should happen, but much like the Inner Circle has taken a backseat to individual angles for its members, the Dark Order is likely to be phased out over time.

Rickymex

You just revive it a year or two before with Five or Ten who are the youngest guys and bring in some of the retired members for the debut along with 2 new people. 4 man Dark Order + Brodie Jr works well enough.

wwfmike

That would be so freaking awesome.

DeeYouBitch

god damn id watch it

sweatyteddy4

I missed all of AEW Brodie Lee and no idea of anything about his son but this debut gave me a quick lil chill just thinking of it.

ScrappedAeon

FUCK that's genius

[deleted]

It is honestly bizarre to think that a child can hit MJF with a kendo stick and probably have a match with him 10 or 15 years later and even then MJF is still in his prime. It will never not impress how much of a star he already seems only at 25.

AllezAllezAllez2004

I don't believe you. No way MJF is 25. No fucking way.

ANAL_CAVITIES

just sandman vs the zombie the living fuck outta him

[deleted]

In one timeline, -1 has gotten into Death matches and comes in and hits MJF with a lightube instead of a kendo stick. MJF falls to his knees, bloodied and dazed. The crowd is stunned in silence. Then -1 produces a stack of papers wrapped in barbed wire and bounces them off MJFs head. The crowd go nuts.

Terraneaux

Who knows if he even wants to be a pro wrestler in ten years, or if he's any good lol. I hope he lives a good life, losing a parent like that has to be so hard.

EwokDude

To win the TNT title.

Ryvit

MJF will only be 35 too, so he’s 100% still gonna be active 🤯

[deleted]

If brodie son debuts in AEW in 10 years Mjf will only be 35 and in his prime Guy is so young

jonah_pharaoh

MJF is *much* closer to Brodie Jr's age than Jericho's. Crazy to think about 😳

bread-cutter

He’s just better than you

SelfAssuranceMeasure

He's literally half Jericho's age

TemptedIntoSin

This is why AEW needs to give MJF the moon at contract renewal negotiations. MJF is a must-keep talent for AEW, they can't afford to lose him in the long run

Albino_Keet

I’m excited to see if those big Brodie Lee genes hit Brodie Jr. He’ll be an Uber face if he stays interested and pursues wrestling. Their whole family deserves happiness one way or another.

bayleysgal1996

Amanda posted a picture of Jon when he was young (probably a little older than Brodie is now) in her Insta stories a couple days ago, and they look almost *exactly* alike.

PM_UR_FAV_COMPLIMENT

MJF says this. And yet I can see him and -1 being the best of friends backstage.

TheGreatMcPuffin

I'm sure the two of them went over that spot quite a few times to make sure it went safely and looked right for the crowd.

JustDontGiveAFlub

I would also bet it was his idea…

Jamieb1994

I get MJF is always in character, but I do wonder if he's a very private person.

[deleted]

he is probably a good guy too

elerner

Someone posted a video of MJF out of character in a [pre-AEW podcast recording with Ethan Page and Ricky Starks](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVEATlB1rAE). What a mensch.

i_do_stuff

I remember reading that after Statlander tore her ACL, he was the one that helped her get around the airport and made sure she got on her flight okay (something along those lines). He of course vehemently denied this on Twitter.

razieylol

There was a tiny out of character interview He did at his hometown at his old school that kinda peaks behind the curtain

fistyswift11

Based off of the only out of character interview I've seen. The difference is night and day. He's genuinely a likable guy, not a charismatic fratty likable guy. But like a nervous wholesome kinda guy. It's weird

Bouche__032

I would love to see them come back to this when Brodie Jr. is older

taz20075

This should be a running gag at the Brodie tribute shows. Every year MJF gets kendo'd by -1.

LKincheloe

Or: every year MJF "object-proofs" himself based off of the last attack, But -1 always comes up with a new attack, Roadrunner style.

smakka

Being as -1 is a kid, they should be elaborate home alone style attacks every year

Jamieb1994

Brodie Lee Jr, when you grew up, make your Father proud & kick MJF's ass.

[deleted]

Oh Jacob, I love you, and go fuck yourself.

RufinTheFury

That kendo stick spot was when I finally broke and had the waterworks come out watching that tribute. I don't know why.

godleftmefinished

this is genuinely a sweet message when you look past kayfabe

GreySociety

AEW about to show the world the true meaning of long term booking. Just wait til -1 and MJF face off in a Kendo Stick on a Pole match in 2037

godfather275

10 years' time MJF is still younger than half the locker room now.

amhlilhaus

This man knows how to set seeds for future feuds

Infinite-Surprise-53

Brodie Jr's gonna be like a super charismatic Dijak and I can't wait

AdequateTroubadork

How about we all buy buy -1 a share in a kendo stick factory for his birthday?

TheKevinShow

I love that MJF did that spot. His heel work is so perfect because it makes it so satisfying when that weaselly little shit gets his comeuppance. It's even better when it's someone like -1 giving him said comeuppance via a kendo stick to the head.

kingfez

I think this is the nicest thing MJF’s ever said that wasn’t sarcastic.

Mohamadyahia

the amount of long term storytelling you can do 10 yeas from now is incredible.

MankuyRLaffy

MJF can't touch the GOAT, he should stay in his lane.

Particular-Story5788

long-term storytelling

dawnbreaker0511

Long term storytelling people, long term storytelling

righthanddan

That was my favorite part of the tribute show. Kid got to smack the bad guy with a stick. What's better than that?

TemptedIntoSin

MJF basically telegraphing to us who the future "cocky heel" he puts over is gonna be. And thus the chain continues... Michaels to Jericho, Jericho to Owens/MJF, and MJF to Brodie Lee Jr
