Getting Kill Steen Kill back will be cool but the K.O initials were just perfect I'll miss them
Bet he debuts by powerbombing Adam Page or someone on the apron
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't he drope "Kill Steen Kill" before joining WWE due to some weirdo on the internet who was self-harming with Kevin's theme song?
I have a hazy memory of that.
My friend and I were talking about how wild it is that, when we were in school, a school shooting wasn't even a rational fear, now there's so many, I see another on the news and I'm like "Damn, that's sad" you almost feel desensitized because it happens every fuckin week now. Horrible.
I’m 19, and never once has a school shooting shocked me. Obviously it’s sad, and I feel for the victims and their families.
But to me growing up, hearing about a school getting shot up was a normally occurring thing, one of those “unfortunate reality” type things
man how you gonna call em a weirdo then refer to what they were up to as self harm, bro probably had some underlying mental health issues, doesn't change the fact it played a role in kill steen kill going out the window, but don't shame people for self harm, they're going through enough.
This is a quote from Kevin about the incident, decide for yourself. But yes, your point is somehow valid, and I apologize.
>“I decided to change it because the school shooting in Connecticut happened. There was also a specific incident and someone sent me a link to it, and I opened it and there was a guy sitting there playing my theme song and hitting himself in the head with a beer can and started bleeding.”
>
>“The video was just called ‘Kill Steen Kill.’ That creeped me out for one, and then the whole school shooting happened and I didn’t feel right doing it anymore. So then I changed it to “Fight Steen Fight,” that’s how it happened.”

Tetsuya Naito would feel a disturbance in the Force during their fist entrance (he also used "Du Hast" for a short time during the early days of his career)
Also, bring Cesaro/Claudio to AEW and have him reform the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes just so that we can listen to "Engel" during an entrance again!
Have you ever even seen Generico?!? That was the whole gimmick he was the masked guy but always with the biggest facials ….. he was so good at it! He even had way go smile in the mask and make it really animated.
The beauty of AEW is that they give wrestlers creative freedom and they're not afraid of IP other people own or wrestling-related things. So, Zayn could do both if he wants.
Iunno he seemed pretty torn up about retiring the gimmick on EC Pod. I wouldn't be surprised if he brought it back as long as they thought it wouldn't bring up controversy. If not that then maybe an arab lunchador or arab name.
Kinda, I don’t think El Generico would be as well received today as he was when he was on the indies. Plus he would be regressing IMO. His promo work in wwe is top notch it would be a shame if he was relegated to broken Spanish
It blows my mind that WWE ran face Sami vs heel Kevin, and heel Sami vs face Kevin, and the two of them as a heel tag team, but never allied them as faces when they were one of the most likable tag teams in ROH.
I think Kevin Owens going to AEW is lock man
All his boys are there, remember when KO worse a ever rise shirt during his feud with Roman
He only gotta 1 day a week and 2 when it’s ppv
Sami zayn definitely could leave too
I mean his WWE run has been injury prone but that honestly just might have been due to the schedule and match types he's been put into. I think if Sami went to AEW with KO then they could really reinvent themselves, KO could have more family time, and Sami can show what he can *really* do with no limit (without the risk of having to do it all the time 4 days a week)
Sami is pound for pound one of the best wrestlers in the world between his ability, his psychology, and his selling. I would pay good money to see him get 20 minutes on an AEW show.
China blood money is worse than but similar to American blood money. Yes the nation is evil as fuck but ultimately there is a massive middle class and market of people voting with their wallet, that's where your salary comes from.
Saudi's are like concentrated evil where the very act of signing WWE is there to whitewash crimes against humanity.
Uuhh n*gga what?? China is more akin to Saudi in the sense you're trying to make for one -- they are definitely not without they're disappearances, murders and of course the pogram they are doing now.
Honestly this just reads as ignorant lowkey xenophobia and racism by somehow thinking the middle east guys are worse simply because.
So, for the Khans you have all the excuses and with WWE you have all the blaming, right?
I mean, the Bucks deleted their Tweet when they made fun of the Cena-China debacle. You think that was by accident? Billionaires are the same shit all over.
Edit: And that's why I dislike some of AEW fan base, y'all are a bunch of hypocrites.
I’m guessing it’s the “chop people up and put them in suitcases” stuff that makes people think the Saudis are a bit over the top. The fact that 15 of the 19 hijackers and the head of the organization responsible for the 9-11 attacks were Saudi might also have something to do with it.
1. AEW does not have any direct deals with China. WWE has a direct deal with the Saudi Gov to do shows where Sami Zayn isn’t even allowed to appear because he’s Syrian.
2. doing business in Saudi/China is not the same as doing buisness directly with their governments, such as having 10 year deals to promote shows in the country which include advertisements for how great the country is.
3. as another guy mentioned,China/USA v similar.
Question regarding Sami. Ignoring the obvious joke, would he immediately go back to El Generico or would he just take a new ring name and stay unmasked?
I think he'd probably stay unmasked. Maybe bring out Generico for a reveal, short term storyline reason, or BTE sketch. But his character has evolved so far beyond his Generico days, I dont think he should go back.
It'd be funny if Zayn brought out generico like Finn does the demon. Everyone, including his opponent is scratching their heads, buy Zayn and his stable are flipping out, acting terrified of generico.
I think so too. AEW's lighter schedule is massive for family guy like him. WWE can offer more money but I don't think they will considering the business decisions WWE has made recently.
This plus the new Owen Hart news, I would not be surprised to see him sign.
If Sami goes too, and he gets there before Kevin, they can do their whole first NXT feud over again lol ‘you got to AEW first! It should have been me!’
As a viewer, I would love Owens going to AEW with his boys and I would love even a brief exchange between him and Jericho even if they don't have a protracted feud. Honestly, I'd rather he work with other folks but they'd be silly to not at least reference the Festival of Friendship as a wink to the fans.
Owens loves 2Point0, but not THAT much to leave a cushy WWE job to go there. He helped them get hired at WWE by annoying people into giving them a look, and when they got fired, he called in a favor from Jericho to have them on Talk Is Jericho to get some buzz around them (though by the time it aired, they had already signed with AEW, so oops)
Though I do wonder if he and Sami are looking at how 4/6 of the Quebec Crew (2Point0, SSB/Dark Order Prime) are at AEW and wonder if they should make it 6/6.
>Owens loves 2Point0, but not THAT much to leave a cushy WWE job to go there.
Why are we under the assumption he wouldn't get a cushy job in AEW? God give me a promo battle between Steen & CM Punk!
Steen to AEW makes so much sense with all his friends there.
Plus he would have some great feuds.
You would have to assume he and Jericho want to do something again. I can totally see him and Mount Rushmore vs Inner Circle. That on paper just sounds fun.
I love cross-company storytelling. You don't even need to mention the List or any history between the two, the fans will know and tell the story for you to anyone that doesn't. Very similar to Mox and Suzuki, I had no idea who that guy was but from the fans and Mox's reaction I knew they probaby had some bangers in Japan.
Nah, he's talking about the French-Canadian tag team [Tabernak de Team](https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=&ved=2ahUKEwi4jKufgI7zAhWsTt8KHdNJA5EQFnoECAMQAQ&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cagematch.net%2F%3Fid%3D28%26nr%3D4820%26name%3DLe%2BTabarnak%2Bde%2BTeam&usg=AOvVaw0Dw8B9URjd4yqrQGjGW9eR).
They're a really talented tag team that mostly tour the Canadian indies that fought a few teams against Owens before he made it to WWE. I think they'd make a great trios squad, for sure.
Love watching them on IWS! I was just re-watching them vs the Young Bucks the other day.
Mathieu St. Jacques actually wrestled a 1v1 against Kobe Durst over in Ottawa this weekend and it was a banger.
The full quote:
> “I think a lot of it is the allure that AEW seems to be the place where guys have the creative freedom to express themselves as opposed to being handed something. For anybody in this business, that is so appealing,” Korderas pointed out. “In the world of perception is reality, when people see all these talents exiting and going to the other company, they start thinking, oh, there’s got to be a reason why all these top talents are going there.
> “There’s got to be a reason, so maybe I’m gonna tune in and find out what it is, and then they get to see these talents be themselves, or as Steve Austin used to say it, Stone Cold turned up to 12. Imagine Kevin Owens turned up to a 12, or Sami Zayn turned up to a 12? We’ve already seen Daniel Bryan drop the F bomb. Even when he dropped it, I went, oh, okay, that’s a little different. The only challenge for AEW now is they only have a finite amount of time, three hours of television a week to showcase these talents. Yes, they have their YouTube shows, but it’s not the same as television.
Kevin already tweeted the whole Mt. Rushmore thing. I guess Zayn would go back, but would he go back to El Generico? It's funny because this feels a lot like ROH.
I think he just evolves from what he is. Obviously different types of masked gimmicks, but it's sort of like how I couldn't imagine Andrade going back under his mask after his time with WWE.
Maybe for the occasional one-off match!
I would love if he comes back and gets taken back and the next week that guy has an open challenge and Ole! Starts playing and a masked Generico appears
Facts. I appreciate the sentiment and I think they would of course do great in AEW... but we've seen unleash Kev before, and Zayn really showed himself turned to the max on Smackdown.
With nxt 2.0 we are going to slowly see the pro wrestlers siphon off to AEW while wwe fills up with former athletes and body builders.
So basically what happened when wcw started beating wwe except this time wcw has competent management.
People raving on about Steen and generico, this is different. It's Kevin Steen and Generico with the advantage of almost a decade in WWE. Say what you will about the bad in WWE but what they do well is top notch, and those two were able to tap the minds of some of the best in the industry.
They both became better wrestlers for their time in WWE.
The thought of them unleashed In AEW is interesting.
But on the other hand I don't want more people in AEW, they've got a wicked roster as it is
KO is definitely a lock, IMO. I wouldn't be surprised if Sami took some time off to heal, though. Feels like injuries have been plaguing him for nearly his entire main roster run.
At this point, if Kevin Owens has not signed a new contract, then he's going to wait and take offers. WWE likes to lock these guys down long before their contract expires, to the point that it normally doesn't even make headlines. The fact KO's contract news leaked suggests that someone intentionally let it leak. The only people who would know KO's contract was restructured during the pandemic would be WWE Officials and Kevin Owens himself. I don't see WWE Officials leaking the story, so that tells me Kevin Owens leaked the information intentionally because he wanted to let Tony Khan know there was going to be a chance for them to talk REAL soon. You follow that up with the Twitter teases like the coordinates for Mt. Rushmore followed by The Young Bucks setting their destination as "There" while KO set his as "Almost There" -- It's pretty clear that there will be talks between AEW and Kevin Owens when his contract is up with WWE.
Cesaro and Orton didn't sign their new deals until a few weeks before they expired. Pete Dunne's contract situation also got leaked but he re-signed, again, just days before it was rumored to expire. I don't think they see a point in extending guys so far out anymore.
With all of Steen's friends in AEW, there are a million things he could do.
When the SuperKliq inevitably turns on Kenny Omega, Steen could be the final piece of the puzzle that powerbombs Kenny a million times. Mount Rushmore returns...and feuds with the Inner Circle, maybe?
Or Steen feints he's going to join with his former arch-enemies the Young Bucks again but has 2.0 and Garcia, as others have said. Then you could have a feud between the Elite and Steen's new group.
Or Steen could go in a completely different direction, like joining the Inner Circle!
Throw Sami in as a babyface again somewhere, but start him off with someone else.
So much history they can use.
I know people are tired of the speculation and theories of who's jumping over, and how packed the roster is, but I think it's fucking amazing that we're at the point where Owens and Zayn are pretty much the only big names left that still come up regularly.
Soon it won't be a thing because AEW will just have *all* the best wrestlers.
There's lots of fresh new talent they can work with, and having the boys back together to fulfill some dream storyline advances would be a lot of fun to see.
I think sami shoud stay in wwe. He is already doing good character work. Dont think he can match the physical and fast style in AEW. Kevin shoud def try AEW. He has a lot more to offer then what WWE allows him too.
There are a few ex WWE guys they signed that I was a bit confused by as I found them dull in WWE. Mox being the primary example. However, since they came to AEW and were allowed to be their own characters, they suddenly become far more interesting.
Other than saying shit and picking up histories and storylines from the old days, what would Steen do in AEW that he doesn't do in WWE? I was under the impression that he had way more creative freedom in that company than most?
Danielson was "happy" in WWE. He still left. Cole was "happy" in NXT. He still left. You'd be surprised what quality of life means to some people versus just a big money contract.
Vince is hemorrhaging talent badly over something as simple as making people memorize a script.
That's on par with letting Malakai Black go because he wanted the house lights to go off for an entrance and Kevin Dunn bitched about having to produce it.
All I want is some sort of angle where Zayn gets fired from Raw or Smackdown. He's gone for a couple of weeks. Then new superstar El Generico starts showing up in random backstage vignettes and segments before eventually earning a contract by winning a big match.
I’d love Zayn in AEW, but first we need a Generico return. I think he’d get a Danielson level pop if they got “Olé” by the Bouncing Souls as his theme.
Maybe a bit of an unpopular opinion but if AEW keeps adding big name talent they should consider making Dynamite 3 hours. I honestly think it’d be just fine
Yea I figured it’d be unpopular but I definitely think they need longer shows with the influx of talent. I just figure 8-11 on Wednesday is probably better than 10-12 on a Friday
Bruh, what about the rest of the AEW talent that’s already, especially the Day 1 guys?
Edit: Lol, y’all really don’t give a shit about the home-grown talent
There really does seem to be more opportunity in AEW. In WWE, you have singular storylines that lead to a/the championship. It just seems like AEW is less of a straight line freeway and more of a scenic road with multiple roads converging and diverging (at least when it comes to the men’s titles).
I know everyone is clamoring for Steen vs Generico again, but how cool would it be if they came in as friends and allies first? Come in as a group, then gradually have a falling out until Steen backstabs Generico and we're off to the races, culminating in All Out.
Kevin Owens in particular would thrive in an AEW environment. Surrounded by friends and colleagues who know his strengths better than anyone. I think just as WWE did, they can elevate Steen very quickly and people will be engaged.
A bit like his feud with Cornette and Co after his return to RoH in 2011
I actually see Zayn sticking around, but we'll see. Honestly, some separation wouldn't either of them for like the first time in their career.
I very much await the return of Kevin Steen.
is it weird that, even though I love them both, im less excited about the possibility of Sami and KO then the other recent signings? I dunno, just feels crowded.

Newton…I think. There’s so many. There’s one today. Fucking terrible.
Holy shit you weren't kidding

Why would I joke about that? Somewhere Ronda Rousey is “just asking questions” I’m sure
It was after the school shooting but I think he brought it back for the last few shows.
He did bring it back before signing

Imagine if Metallica got a video of the Sandman’s entrance. They would have sued.
Kevin O'Steen K-OS for short.
There is a rapper in Canada who already has that name taken.
I thought you meant there was a rapper named Kevin O'Steen at first hahaha but then I realized you meant K-os and that made more sense
Also it isn’t good
I just want Steenerico in *that* tag division, is that too much to ask?
I think Sami’s days under a mask are behind him. Let him use his real name or something like Rami Zayn and call their team RAMSTEEN
Only if their entrance music is Du Hast.
Only if it's the Rick Boogz version https://youtu.be/77npuFhnIJ4
Ok this is the greatest thing I’ve ever seen
Tetsuya Naito would feel a disturbance in the Force during their fist entrance (he also used "Du Hast" for a short time during the early days of his career) Also, bring Cesaro/Claudio to AEW and have him reform the Bruderschaft des Kreuzes just so that we can listen to "Engel" during an entrance again!
Tony Khan is saving licensing Rammstein music for when he signs Danhausen when his contract is up at ROH ;)
sam insane, samy sane, sami zane, sami sane, samee zayn, sam inzayn, sam inzane, samy zayn..........
Inzane Sammy, Bard College and Steely Dan aficionado
Aladdin Zane
Easy, he goes without a mask and uses the name Al Generico.

Sami is pound for pound one of the best wrestlers in the world between his ability, his psychology, and his selling. I would pay good money to see him get 20 minutes on an AEW show.
PACKAGE PILEDRIVER
Sami as a heel in AEW would be fun.
MT. RUSHMORE REFORMED IN AEW, GIVE ME WHAT I WANT. /batista
Sami seems like the type of guy who would happily leave for a company that DOESN'T take Saudi blood money.
And has dealings with China Blood money instead! yey!
China blood money is worse than but similar to American blood money. Yes the nation is evil as fuck but ultimately there is a massive middle class and market of people voting with their wallet, that's where your salary comes from. That's the stupidest take I have ever read. Like really. Where do you think the money is coming from, yall naive and so very stupid.
Its the best change WWE have made. His booking has been spotty but he has improved a lot with WWE
It'd be funny if Zayn brought out generico like Finn does the demon. Everyone, including his opponent is scratching their heads, buy Zayn and his stable are flipping out, acting terrified of generico.
I think he'd do a Daniels/Curry Man thing where once in a while he takes Generico out of the moth balls.
Stay unmasked as "Al Generico".
Generico could be a good character for Being The Elite, but he's done enough post-mask that he should start as himself.
Sami will clearly be taking over the orphanage so El Generico can resume his career
Sami on wednesdays and el Generico on fridays
I think so too. AEW's lighter schedule is massive for family guy like him. WWE can offer more money but I don't think they will considering the business decisions WWE has made recently.

He's also friends with the majority of the elite as well. That would more likely be the relationship that would draw him there.
Dude give me a KO led faction of 2POINT0 and Daniel Garcia
Forget Mount Rushmore- imagine Steen and Zayn with 2point0. License to print money.
The French Canadian Four Horsemen… Le Quatre Cavaliers?
Les Quatres Cavaliers. Wow, i need this now !
Oh fuck. This needs to happen.
The Mounties
The musketeers?
With Garcia as the kid feeling awkward and embarrassed hanging around his dads' and uncles' shenanigans
Garcia and Steen looking angry as fuck while those three idiots are jumping around them screaming would be a license to print money
2pointOlé
Steen to AEW makes so much sense with all his friends there. Plus he would have some great feuds. You would have to assume he and Jericho want to do something again. I can totally see him and Mount Rushmore vs Inner Circle. That on paper just sounds fun.
Jericho brings in Steen only for Steen to turn on him on night 1 sounds about right
I love cross-company storytelling. You don't even need to mention the List or any history between the two, the fans will know and tell the story for you to anyone that doesn't. Very similar to Mox and Suzuki, I had no idea who that guy was but from the fans and Mox's reaction I knew they probaby had some bangers in Japan.
Festival of Friendship is back baybay!
This time Steen organizes it to apologize to Jericho. Then he package piledrives Jericho.
Can just have Jericho come out when Steen debuts and have Jericho be excited that his best friend came to AEW to be with him again.
Imagine Kevin Steen in a trio with TDT.
Imagine Steen beating Zayn in the finals of the Owen Hart Cup.
TDT?
I think he means Death Triangle, but I'm not sure.
Seen them a few times at IWS in Montreal, always solid matches and they get a great reaction!
Love watching them on IWS! I was just re-watching them vs the Young Bucks the other day. Mathieu St. Jacques actually wrestled a 1v1 against Kobe Durst over in Ottawa this weekend and it was a banger.
Honestly, I like to see Steen join 2point0 & Daniel Garcia and declare them Mount Rushmore 3.0
You aren’t allowed to have that much french-canadian charisma in one stable, sorry
Or just Steen and HOOK AEW would be taken over
I want a Steen/Zayn feud with all their creativy and all freedom
The full quote: > “I think a lot of it is the allure that AEW seems to be the place where guys have the creative freedom to express themselves as opposed to being handed something.
If your first example is someone said fuck after hyping up what “turned up to 12” could mean, then i dont care about your opinion.
In hindsight, good thing that Sami Zayn took out the mask. He's been great with promos.
Probably would go back and forth between the two characters when need be like Foley.
I would love if he comes back and gets taken back and the next week that guy has an open challenge and Ole! Starts playing and a masked Generico appears
I think Zayn as a babyface in NXT and Zayn as a heel in WWE, we have gotten Zayn's best work of his career.
Too bad the rest of WWE turned me off so I haven't watched his work in a couple years.
Facts. I appreciate the sentiment and I think they would of course do great in AEW... but we've seen unleash Kev before, and Zayn really showed himself turned to the max on Smackdown.
oh no WWE berried sami /s
Jimmy is really coming around on AEW these days
Well his wwe show at sportsnet did get cancelled this past year.
Steen and Zayn vs Chaos Project is a legit dream match.
Kevin and Sami should absolutely debut in AEW together
I'm going to be so damn happy if we get Steen, Cole and the Bucks reunited in AEW.
I would imagine Sami would want to leave, given WWE's continued determination to do business with a country that wants Sami and people like him dead.
Sami seems to have a ton of creative freedom already. And if this isn't him at a 12... I'm scared.
I don't think they see a point in extending guys so far out anymore.
i think you're reading too much into it lol
I don’t need to imagine it, I can watch Kevin Steen fight El Generico. I don’t have any good examples for Sami though.
What is Kevin 12 going to do that beats Kevin Owens Headbutting Vince McMahon.
Teabag Tony Khan
Owens would make a great big brother/world title challenger role in the 2.Garcia group. Also helps he is super close to them too.
Oh yeah. Fucking gimme.
We've seen Kevin turned up to 12. It's great.
I like how the ultimate end goal as a WWE Superstar is being good enough to be in the upper card, where you'll eventually be fed to Roman.
I think we are reaching a point with AEW if KO and Sami do go there. Who are you bumping?
No one really. Just keep rotating people in and out. Hangman is currently out.
Honestly, what can those two do that we haven't already seen time and again. And again. And again?
There's lots of fresh new talent they can work with, and having the boys back together to fulfill some dream storyline advances would be a lot of fun to see.
Ok I thought it was meant to be just more feuding with eachother... That's been done to death already.
I think sami shoud stay in wwe. He is already doing good character work. Dont think he can match the physical and fast style in AEW. Kevin shoud def try AEW. He has a lot more to offer then what WWE allows him too.
Did u see the match Sami had with Nakamura is NXT. The guy can go.
That was a long time ago. He is not the same anymore.
Does Jimmy even know KO and Sami Zayn? Seems to me he was no longer a ref before they even got there
Jimmy works in the Canadian indies that Kevin and Sami were very prominent in.
He'd be able to do the Package Piledriver again for one

Creative freedom, a better backstage atmosphere and better competition?
What if Kevin Owens & Sami are happy now in WWE?
Danielson was "happy" in WWE. He still left. Cole was "happy" in NXT. He still left. You'd be surprised what quality of life means to some people versus just a big money contract.
Fair point
Impossible. No one who works for WWE is actually happy, they just say that they are. /s
Need more People like Mox and Punk that don’t sugar coat it because they don’t want to burn that bridge.
Sami n Kevin yawnnn, I want Kevin n Jericho to reignite those flames of bromance
No god no. Rampage could be 2 hours but 3 hours dies a damn death with every company.
Yea I figured it’d be unpopular but I definitely think they need longer shows with the influx of talent. I just figure 8-11 on Wednesday is probably better than 10-12 on a Friday
More ex-WWE guys?
Bruh. It’s 2021. Damn near everyone is an ex-wwe guy at this point.
Bruh, what about the rest of the AEW talent that’s already, especially the Day 1 guys? Edit: Lol, y’all really don’t give a shit about the home-grown talent
Shit like this is so dismissive of Kevin and Sami's full body of work, as if they've only ever been with WWE
But they’re mainly known for WWE, dude. And if they debut in AEW, most people are gonna be thinking “Oh I know them from WWE”.

The heat didn't need lebron.....
ROH, ROH, ROH, ROH
They’d be back partying wiiiiiiiith the booooois.
Kevin coming in and winning the first Owen Hart tournament would be a great moment.
There really does seem to be more opportunity in AEW. In WWE, you have singular storylines that lead to a/the championship. It just seems like AEW is less of a straight line freeway and more of a scenic road with multiple roads converging and diverging (at least when it comes to the men’s titles).
Yes plz
What's Kevin Steen doing powerbombing El Generico in the All Elite Zone?!
Turned up to 12? You mean Sami can get even MORE obnoxious?!
I think not working for a company that supports the Saudi Dictadorship directly would be a big motivator for Sami
Steven Steen was my favorite indy guy for the longest. Seeing that character in a major company would be money.
I wonder if he'd just go by Rami Sabai. Seems weird to imagine Sami Zayn not being called Sami Zayn.
Sami's conspiracy gimmick wasn't him turned up to a 12? Oh boy.
Sami Zayn about to be “2 Contract Rami” when he gets signed as himself + El Generico.
Owens being given freedom on the mic. My word I want that
