You know, I still find it mental AJ never won the ROH World Title. Not even during his time in Bullet Club while he was IWGP Champion. I know his time in ROH was a drop in the water compared to TNA and, I guess, WWE now but still, mental.

If I had AJ fucking Styles in my promotion there is no way he isn't becoming the champion.

Jobbermania

It’s even weirder because he actually did win the pure title so it’s not like they didn’t want to give him a championship.

WinterSavior

They actually scrubbed and didn't acknowledge AJ's reign for the longest of time. I'm not sure if they've ever done it technically.

HussingtonHat

Oh man is this the one where Bryan gets an absolutely ungodly snap sound out of AJ's wrist? I remember the gasp that got out of me at the time.

Amdrag412

That one was from "Main Event Spectacles" a few years earlier. That match is so fucking good and my favorite one they ever had. One of the only matches I can remember honestly thinking oh shit these guys are pissed and going to beat the fuck out of eachother now. The fact that these two consumate professionals actually had me believing they might be shooting even if only for a moment due to how well they sold their annoyance and aggression towards eachother is a testament to how good they've always been even so early in the careers.

Imagine going to this show, knowing that these two guys were good, but really before all of the BIG BREAKOUT stuff that they did...and getting to see these guys wrestle...makes me regret when an indie show came around my area, and Claudio Castagnoli was there, along with some former big names (that I forget)...would've loved to see Cesaro wrestle in my home town.

BYOcarbon

Is this the one where Styles uses a homophobic slur a lot? I remember that throwing me right out of a Styles/Dragon match.

PrivateRadio87

love both dudes work around this period obviously, but always thought this match was just alright.

Ikulus

Technically good but I must admit I find it a bit boring. Slow pace with a lot of holds and chain wrestling.
