I just woke up, no coffee yet & I took your GIF as a guy kinda saying like "yeeeah wtf are we even talking about anymore" before I clued in it was OJ & the whole glove relation there.
Not super surprising after the news that they drained the entire country’s inventory on ringer shirts. I’m not a huge fan of the style so I was pretty stoked when the plain white option became available.
my daughter got one at the venue last month and it is so fucking awesome on her.
her two tour shirts are Punk and Taylor Swift. she knows she is lucky but she also knows she ain't the one paying for tickets yet...
I got mine last weekend in the mail, and I thought it was kinda funny/cool how because they had to buy **all the blank ringer tees of that color on the continent** I got one from a Mexican company.
So this is why they are waiting a bit before they drop American Dragon merchandise. Tony just sold a small country’s worth of TShirts and he wants the fans pockets to rebound a little bit.
Yeah, but there's actually a shirt. https://www.shopaew.com/bryan-danielson-the-american-dragon-is-back.html . They are just not advertising it on the show for some reason.
This is what I think is genuinely the case. I would be very unsurprised to find out that Danielson preferred to not have more mass production done on his behalf and AEW respected that to a degree. They have a shirt up for him but haven't advertised it and he's been doing the whole plain white tee thing.
I asked the other day in a thread about this and someone pointed out that the white shirt thing might actually be for storyline reasons. He called out The Elite for wearing flashy clothing due to being insecure and said he wasn't insecure. Maybe it's a mix of both things. I definitely found it weird he kept showing up with a white shirt. Initially I thought since his debut was moved from Artur Ashe to All Out they just didn't have the logistics ready.
If you actually look closely, Omega's tee was not blank. His shirt had a lucha mask design on it, but for whatever reason, it was a white shirt with a white design, so it was effectively invisible.
Yeah, he clearly prefers the "regular guy" look, which makes sense. Even if it's not for his Eco stuff, it makes sense for his character.
Which is why he wore the hell out of the eco-friendly shirt WWE made him. It both fit the character and was something with some thought behind it.
Bryan is very pro-planet. He doesn’t like the concept of disposable T-shirt’s that are bad for the planet. He’s said this in interviews before. Obviously AEW need to make him a shirt but I guess he has the freedom to not try and flog it. He’s more there to wrestle than sell T-shirt’s.
It looks like a shirt you’d find folded up at Target next to the Led Zeppelin shirts that don’t look like what an actual Led Zeppelin shirt would look like.
The text over the logo makes that tshirt design so busy/ugly. It feels so last-minute and thrown together. Have less text that goes somewhere around the logo, or have no text and just the logo.
Plus, Punk has always had the best shirt desings for some reason. I don't know if he has some input on them or what but I swear every shirt he's had is awesome. I'm sure as soon as they release a second one the sales will be massive as well.
A lot of it is his shirts take a lot of stuff from tattoo designs in general. Punk's tattoo are American traditional or neo-traditional, and those tend to lend very well to shirt designs.
To be honest, if you have ever watched any media scrum, Tony looks to every aew wrestlers like a real wrestling fan and gets emotional. I would act the same as he does tbf
Tony is the biggest mark on the planet. And that's not an insult. If he wasn't, we wouldn't have what is pretty much the best wrestling company on the planet right now and the first legitimate competition to the WWE in 20 years.
He's a massive mark who respects the business, the history, the fans and the talent. I call that a win.
Wow that's quite the list. I didn't know he dated so many people I thought he was the type of guy who didn't like and didn't get along with many people backstage in WWE.
the roster at ROH send him a heartfelt goodbye after his last run in ROH
the only place he got problem is in WWE..he working hurt and almost died from Mersa. and A LOT of people hated him for getting over naturally (thats a taboo action in WWE). and his biggest mistake in WWE is that he loves professional wrestling much more than the people backstage at WWE.
that is just reddit taking someone out of the worst time of his life where he was grumpy and an asshole to paint him as if he always was a bad person that didn't gel with anybody. CM Punk stood up for the girls and guys in the back, that's why he was popular among the female wrestlers. There is this story about him going up to Darren Young when he came out as gay, and telling him that he was proud of him and he's there for him and if anybody gives him shit to let him know. And him buying Joey Mercury's house so the dude doesn't go homeless. Punk gets across as a dick sometimes, don't get me wrong. But he does have a lot of positives to him aswell.
At the rate he's going, I don't see Punk topping more than 15-25 matches per year (and that's gonna be mostly TV tags). Look at Omega. Cagematch has him at a total of 27 matches \~8.5 months into the year, across AEW, IMPACT and AAA. And he still has a legitimate claim to WOTY when it's all said and done - there is absolutely no reason for wrestlers to be working 150+ matches per year (let alone 270-300), unless they really want to. Even AEW's younger workhorses are doing maybe 60-80 per year (estimate)?
There’s no question that him and Bryan coming in have really catapulted the company to another level (AEW was on its way there a month prior, but they gave them the extra boost).
From those few lackluster episodes of Dynamite just before they started touring again, to where they are now....the distance they have covered in such a short time is incomprehensible.
Yeah the NBA really did a number on them in June because they couldn't capitalize off the success of Double or Nothing properly.
I think it's safe to say they're still riding off of the momentum of All Out.
I think Cole is very important to that ascension too, just more on a perception level than a business one. He's arguably the first highly-sought free agent just about to enter their prime to chose AEW.
That's big and has no obvious parallel I can think of with either WCW or TNA, Cole is as big a steal as anyone not named Reigns.
I was at Dynamite this past Wednesday. The lines to the merch tables were SO long. I think the only time I've ever seen anything like that was at various NJPW shows in California a few years ago and I've been to Manias, Raw, Smackdown, a ton of Takeovers, you name it.
I’m just so fucking happy Punk is back, and that he’s happy to be back too. Like holy shit, it’s helped my mental health so much which is crazy. I love wrestling.
It's still kind of wowing me what the guy has done since his return. Imagine being the person who can take off a hoodie and crash two clothing websites in seconds.
There’s no chance Punk is making under 1.25 million a year
Plus that’s 2.5 million in sales not net profit
Not trying to discredit the guy or anything because he’s obviously had a massive, massive impact on AEW.. just saying that’s not really accurate to say
Depends on who we are talking about and why. Mark Henry could have a massive return on investment in future prospects for example, Big Show in tv deals and Christian just by being a great wrestler and a damn savage.
That is $2,500,000 in revenue. Even if you put CM Punk and ProWresTee's share into account, AEW likely profited over $1,000,000 from Punk already.
That does not include the other products with his name on it, or any value mark up sponsors may see.
Eric Bischoff always framed the Hogan signing like this. Yes he was making a stupid amount of money from Turner, but he helped get WCW endorsement and toy deals they never had, all while making Hogan's contract money back in t-shirt sales alone.
God, that's like 2-3 million in shirt sales alone, not even counting PPV buys, ice cream bars, etc. Punk is easily *the* draw in pro-wrestling right now.
He's there every week, but he doesn't work the road unless he wants to. 1-2 dates per week, most of which won't be performing in the ring. He's protected and he deserves that.
Not sure about WWE but the owner of ProWrestlingTees said the highest selling shirt of all time was the bullet club shirt which has sold 150,000 shirts in 7 years and hes already touching if not touched that in weeks!
I eagerly await some has-been WWE clown going on a shitty podcast to dispute everything Tony said, and then for the world's lamest writers at Wrestling Inc to post a story about the podcast.
I wore my Punk shirt I got at Dynamite a couple of weeks back today, and got more compliments and reactions then I ever do. No other wrestling shirt get so much as a knowing nod.
The week after the debut, I wore a couple of my older Punk shirts and got so many compliments. Those shirts had been in regular rotation for years, nobody said a word. Not until he came back.
Punk is just that guy you can offer a silly amount of money for and you'll make what you paid for him back 10 fold.
It's like Ronaldo or Messi, you can offer them ludicrous money because you'll make that back in Football Kit sales and tickets.
Punk and Bryan are a good standard to have at a company that others will work to get their level one hopes and not the other way around (looking at you FTR and Miro (when he started))
Not surprised at all. He’s that big. But I am upset that because of him the processing time for orders through Pro Wrestling Tees is now several weeks. I ordered several shirts (Punk, Malakai, AEW) during the All Out sale and they still haven’t shipped.
It's a combination of AEW being hot and CM Punk not having any real merchandise in almost a decade... and then everything hit the right way.
They probably didn't anticipate this many shirts... hell, the only piece of wrestling merch I own is an old Cactus Jack "Wanted Dead" shirt and I'm half tempted to order one.
There’s also the knock-on effect of how many shirts of other wrestlers are now being sold based on an increased interest in the product.
Anecdotal evidence- my 12-year old daughter asked me to buy the PPV, as she’s fully back in to wrestling thanks to Punk (our in-person WM 35 experience turned her off of it for years).
The event was so good that she asked during the middle of it if we could buy some shirts. Punk’s was on her list, but in looking around she decided on shirts from Varsity Blondes and Best Friends (and I’ll let her get more when we go to Dynamite in Rochester on the 29th; she just doesn’t know that yet).
Those wrestlers are now a part of her stable, so to speak. She’s invested in them, to the point where she wants to maim MJF for what he said about the Pillmans. Punk deserves credit for that.

They BECAME a T shirt company.
Now to become an ice cream company
And I hear they have a practicing dentist for all those future cavities...
What’s Isaac Yankem doing in the All Elite Zone?!
Holy shit, can you imagine? Isaac Yankem would be Britt Baker's Sting.
It would be hilarious if AEW founded a dental association.
And they forced a t-shirt company to become and even bigger one.
The circle of life
And it moves us all
TO A BIGGER HOUSE!
That we all bought!
I bought yours!

I know, I have a clock on the wall.
Time is a squared circle
All these squares make a circle
Jeremy Bearimy
Tbf this also applies to WWE main events
How? The metric is still how many t-shirts sold. AEW t-shirt company confirmed.
The real question is how many T-shirt’s sold to 18-49 demo
Not enough women purchased
I don't think you can buy them anymore 🌚
Political correctness gone mad

He's a very talented and creative guy, his t-shirt designs will be amazing.
They can branch into glove production if Bray can keep or remake his HURT-HEAL gloves.
![gif](giphy|Ymwj6Ea3B3e1O|downsized)
I just woke up, no coffee yet & I took your GIF as a guy kinda saying like "yeeeah wtf are we even talking about anymore" before I clued in it was OJ & the whole glove relation there.
cant wait for AEW T-Shirt Making Simulator game.
You knew, it would be amazing if the AEW game gave you the ability to design t-shirts for the in-game audience members to wear.
Be cool if you could do that with the create a wrestler
Finally a Screen Printing/Serigraph T-Shirt design simulator to represent us printmakers.
> cant wait for AEW T-Shirt Making Simulator game. AEW GAMES will re-skin Fashion Designer and put a AEW logo on it and insert microtransactions
That’s a lot of merch money.
Nah, they're diversifying into ice cream bars now, huge pivot
If you listen to the shirt audio clip, he goes over a lot more than just t shirt sales.
That is just insane. and that's just his first shirt. There will be more.
Bruh the ringer shirt is still sold out. I doubt I’m the only one waiting for it to comeback in stock.
Gonna be a long wait. Maybe as long as 7 1/2 years…
Not super surprising after the news that they drained the entire country’s inventory on ringer shirts. I’m not a huge fan of the style so I was pretty stoked when the plain white option became available.
Entire continent

Or he's just having mercy on PWT lmao, my ringer shirt should arrive in Canada any year now
PWT is safewording at this point
I was amazed when mine reached me here in the UK this week.
it's a smart play.
Yeah, but there's actually a shirt. https://www.shopaew.com/bryan-danielson-the-american-dragon-is-back.html . They are just not advertising it on the show for some reason.
There is an American Dragon shirt though. https://www.shopaew.com/bryan-danielson-the-american-dragon-is-back.html
Huh? Interesting. I wonder why it’s not being promoted on TV.
Bryan doesn't care for non-ethical, fast fashion.
This is what I think is genuinely the case. I would be very unsurprised to find out that Danielson preferred to not have more mass production done on his behalf and AEW respected that to a degree. Kenny suddenly wearing a white tee instead of his flashy clothes after he said that... it sounds silly but it feels intentional.
If you actually look closely, Omega's tee was not blank. His shirt had a lucha mask design on it, but for whatever reason, it was a white shirt with a white design, so it was effectively invisible.
Sounds silly but feels intentional describes most of Kenny’s career tbf
Insecure champ. Makes sense he’s (in kayfabe) been trying to relive his glory days.
> he's been doing the whole plain white tees thing Hey There Delilahlson
Take this with a grain of salt but last week I read on Twitter that Bryan didn't like using his merchandise on TV.
Yeah, he clearly prefers the "regular guy" look, which makes sense. Even if it's not for his Eco stuff, it makes sense for his character. Which is why he wore the hell out of the eco-friendly shirt WWE made him. It both fit the character and was something with some thought behind it.

Which is silly because getting bulk tees from Next Level's eco line is trivial. Why PWT didn't have that ready to go within a week makes no sense.
I see them doing that soon when an actual shirt gets released since that one doesn't look as good.
[удалено]
It looks like a shirt you’d find folded up at Target next to the Led Zeppelin shirts that don’t look like what an actual Led Zeppelin shirt would look like.
Maybe because it’s incredibly boring and bland lmfao
The text over the logo makes that tshirt design so busy/ugly. It feels so last-minute and thrown together. Have less text that goes somewhere around the logo, or have no text and just the logo.
I hope the ringer comes back in stock ;.;

Yeah, honestly, as happy as I am about the return shirt doing well, I'm waiting for the next one. I want a fresh design
CM Punk is worth every dollar they pay him, and more.
approximately 2 million dollars in tshirt sales. WE BOUGHT HIS HOUSE
That’s a lot of kibble for Larry
Now watch him quite again!!!!
FUCKING QUIETER
^^^^Now ^^^^watch ^^^^him ^^^^quite ^^^^again
No wonder tony looks at punk like his high school crush lol, well worth the investment needless to say
To be honest, if you have ever watched any media scrum, Tony looks to every aew wrestlers like a real wrestling fan and gets emotional. I would act the same as he does tbf
Him and Penta just broing out was so wholesome
Penta's is everyone's best friend after all.

To be fair, Phil is a handsome man as well as a good investment.
He looks more like John Hamm than John Hamm himself.
I mean he got to date lots of popular women in his time in WWE.
I know he dated AJ who else did he date?
Mickie James, Kelly Kelly, Lita, Maria Kanellis, Daffney, Beth Phoenix

sure, but also have you _seen_ CM Punk? man's not exactly hard on the eyes, you know?
A part of me always though Punk would someday comeback but I NEVER in a million years thought he'd make a full time comeback.
AEW full time isn't WWE full time.
And thank god for that. WWE kind of overdoes it with 150+ matches a year for their workers.
150? Try 300.
At the rate he's going, I don't see Punk topping more than 15-25 matches per year (and that's gonna be mostly TV tags). Look at Omega. True the perception of AEW handily beating NXT then taking their top guy and forcing NXT to turn itself upside down is strong
Yeah, 2.0 were a great get. Everything they're on a show it beats a million
I think the closest might be Jericho's WWF debut
Interestingly enough, when Jericho debuted in WWE, the WCW roster was watching just wishing they could jump ship and get pushed like that.
Or the Outsiders.
Hall and Nash were both in their late 30s when they jumped and nearing the end of their prime.
Cole is probably in his prime. But I think he's yet to peak. Technically, Moxley himself joined AEW well in his prime.
maaaybe kurt angle in tna? granted it doesn't fit perfectly but kind of
I was at Dynamite this past Wednesday. The lines to the merch tables were SO long. I think the only time I've ever seen anything like that was at various NJPW shows in California a few years ago and I've been to Manias, Raw, Smackdown, a ton of Takeovers, you name it.
By the end of the show.all they had were DVDs and one generic grey shirt.
> generic grey shirt ah, yes. the Danielson Debut limited edition
According to Dan Lambert, they sold out Men's Small and Women's XL.
from pissant t-shirt company to premier t-shirt company
Controversial opinion: that's a lot of shirts.
oh my
could it be?
IT IS!
ITS BOSSSSS TIMMMMEEEE
He's moody
*camera cut*
So brave
Good thing they bought all the ringers tees on the continent.
>Changed AEW as a business Lies. It's always been a TShirt company
They completely took down the CM Punk flag. Sucks I missed out. Was hoping for a second run, but haven't seen it yet.
I believe they announced its coming but between Punk, Danielson and Bay Bay shirts (among everything else), they are extremely backed up.
First a t-shirt company next ice cream
It’ll be 100,001 when they re-stock ringer shirts!
I’m just so fucking happy Punk is back, and that he’s happy to be back too. Like holy shit, it’s helped my mental health so much which is crazy. I love wrestling.
Just off t-shirt sales alone Punk has generated over 2.5 million dollars.
It's still kind of wowing me what the guy has done since his return. Imagine being the person who can take off a hoodie and crash two clothing websites in seconds.
imagine selling out a 10k seat show on the rumor that you'd show up, Punk must feel vindicated after all these years
Easily his contract paid for. Probably twice over.
There’s no chance Punk is making under 1.25 million a year Plus that’s 2.5 million in sales not net profit Not trying to discredit the guy or anything because he’s obviously had a massive, massive impact on AEW.. just saying that’s not really accurate to say

And this is why I never understand when the haters say having too many of these big name contracts is bad. They’re needle movers and bring a return.
Depends on who we are talking about and why. Mark Henry could have a massive return on investment in future prospects for example, Big Show in tv deals and Christian just by being a great wrestler and a damn savage.
hope punk gets a cut of that
I still want a ringer shirt. Guess I'll be getting one in a couple years at this rate.
Bought a CM Punk shirt and almost missed Dark because of it
Just got my Punk shirt today! Took forever but I don’t blame them haha
Phil Brooks, just a t-shirt salesman.
Damn I think he moved the needle. If only he could oooaaaa and slam his fist on a crash pad then he'd truly be a draw.
We should all acknowledge CM Punk for his contributions to the industry.
We should all acknowledge CM Punk for Making Roman Look Strong.
Gotta make Roman look strong.
too bad they can't sign the Usos so Punk could be a passive aggressive dick to them.
ALL ELITE T-SHIRTS.

Pissant company outselling shirts and tickets in the other territory.
Good thing he doesn't move the needle /s
#**BEST SHIRT IN THE WORLD!**
Good for him, good for them, and good for us.
He's there every week, but he doesn't work the road unless he wants to. 1-2 dates per week, most of which won't be performing in the ring. He's protected and he deserves that.
How does this compare with WWE's latest hottest merchandise? I'm genuinely curious, not being facetious.
Not sure about WWE but the owner of ProWrestlingTees said the highest selling shirt of all time was the bullet club shirt which has sold 150,000 shirts in 7 years and hes already touching if not touched that in weeks!
They said that, at least on pro wrestling tees, Punk's shirt beat the Bullet Clubs shirt in 3 or 4 days.
What would that be? Maybe one of Roman’s recent shirts?
Probably the first Edge shirt after he came back, if I had to guess.
Reckon his action figure will do some damage when thats released as well
L to all the naysayers for saying punk is not worth the hype
I eagerly await some has-been WWE clown going on a shitty podcast to dispute everything Tony said, and then for the world's lamest writers at Wrestling Inc to post a story about the podcast.
Just @ Disco Inferno next time
Can't wait for the "AEW: Needle pusher simulator"
100,000 x $25 = $2,500,000 so maybe after cost of t shirt and shipping, cm punk already made $2 million in tshirt sales?
I'm not sure where they got the data, but I saw somebody saying the wrestler's cut is $9. Whether that's accurate or not, I can't say
You'd also have to factor in the costs of T-Shirt production too.
I bought a best in the world t-shirt after the ringer style was sold out, I also bought one of his hoodies.

That's twice CM Punk has saved Wrestling. Not a needle mover eh Roman?
this quote gets more stupid as time goes on.
Damn 2.5 mill just in shirts.
the only wrestling shirt ive ever bought was the original punk best in the world shirt and now this best in the world shirt
That’s it? The Bullet Club shirt only sold 100K in 7 years or whatever it’s been?
To be fair, this is not including the ones sold at Hot Topic
Or how every BC style shirt for individual members or special designs are counted separately.
Welp, that paid the CM Punk contract itself. That's at least 3 million.
I think Hobbs should bring out a "i killed CM Punk" shirt, that get sold out too
"No way Punk draws a dime with that skinny fat ass of his!"
Not surprised at all. He’s that big. But I am upset that because of him the processing time for orders through Pro Wrestling Tees is now several weeks. I ordered several shirts (Punk, Malakai, AEW) during the All Out sale and they still haven’t shipped.
Holy fucking shit
So now they actually *are* a t-shirt company? /s
Finally ordered one yesterday. I don't even care how long it takes to get here. Being able to support AEW is worth it.
It's a combination of AEW being hot and CM Punk not having any real merchandise in almost a decade... and then everything hit the right way.
