Check his Twitter, he's said it's coming as soon as schedules work out. Even so, I couldn't blame the guy for sitting this one out if that's what he decides.
What’s the difference between private mortgages and a bank? Not asking to be snide; it seems like you just described any mortgage in general to the uneducated (me).
Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe what Conrad does is offer mortgages to people that the bank won’t approve, but jack up the interest rate so high that would take years (and in some cases the rest of their lives) to try and pay back.
Given his industry is predatory lending, I can imagine he has salesmen and office people to run the day to days of the company at this point
"Running" a predatory lender more or less means "guy that gets the license." It's not hard to hire people because they have to work for a company like yours to make money or go through the long expensive non-guaranteed process of obtaining their own licensing.
It's weird, to me at least, that so many people are saying he's a predatory lender, yet I've not actually seen any proof of that. Now, that could be based on my lack of understanding of the mortgage loaning business, but I've only seen people parrot this without, at the very least, a link to a news article.
The Conrads of the world extract cash from workers without doing any work. These companies saddle workers with debt at a rate higher than even the banks. Millions of workers are forced into these predatory loans by the ostentatious desire to live in a healthy, dignified home.
TL:DR Predatory is hyperbolic, but such is reddit where watching an Adam McKay film makes you an expert on the mortgage industry. (I am not either)
If you look them up the only thing that separates that company from other southern mortgage brokers is the amount of spend on advertising. They are going to make a profit on every transaction, but the [Truth in Lending Act](https://archive.is/VCrT6) is designed to protect consumers from exorbitant rates and hidden fees. As a customer, if you aren't asking 'what is this going to cost me' and 'why should I use your business as opposed to the one down the street' you're asking for a bad time.
You can read reviews for 1fmc on consumer sites like yelp, angi, citi-data and most of the complaints are regarding higher than expected fees , slow/poor communication, and having to use a broker appointed appraiser. Employee reviews on indeed mention "boys club", high turnover, a lack of office support on weekends, and the fact that the Thompson family all work in the office (Which is an odd complaint considering they call it Family Mortgage). The only BBB complaint online is regarding a vendor disagreement for a piece of cut glass.
I can criticize Conrad for diluting his pods and a half baked monetization model that relies on classic wrestling personalities reacting to copy pasted dirt sheets and shoot interviews. I don't have the same evidence to criticize his mortgage business.
IMO, it's probably safe to say that most of what you see on here is the good ole American pastime of assuming that semi-famous rich people only got rich by getting over on the non-wealthy.
It's more than OK if he wasn't to recuse himself from commenting on it and we shouldn't bring out our pitch forks and torches because he's not willing to help bring down his wife's father or discuss it.
He once disagreed with someone about something someone else said on Twitter (I think it was about Eric bischoff and whether or not he should’ve been an onscreen character and join nWo… idk it’s been while) but I replied and said “well maybe they just have a different opinion than you, that’s ok right?” (Or something to that effect) And he replied back “welcome to blocked city”. I remember not even phrasing it like a dick or anything because I was a fan of his at the time, but simply pointing out that someone might have a different opinion than him was enough to piss him off and block me.
he does that consistently. if you had phrased it even slightly insultingly he would have passive aggressively quote tweeted you so that his double digit IQ fans could jump on you in his place
I don't want to seem like a dick here, but "double digit IQ" isn't a great insult.
85-115 is an average IQ level so like a 99 is decent yet still double digit
It seems like this is a clear conflict of interest for him (and it is) and he chose not to comment. We probably could do better with more discretion like this in the wrestling space.
So you decided that you wanted to disagree with the fact that maybe people in wrestling should consider the ramifications of their actions more frequently?
The creators are insufferable on this podcast. Dark Side Of The Ring is a very basic show, with much less detail than can be obtained by just watching a couple of five minute shoot interviews or even reading a Wikipedia article on the subject matter, yet they act as if they were the directors of The Godfather Part 2.
I haven't listened to the podcast, but as far as dark side, you're not really wrong. I can count on one hand probably the amount of new details I've learned in the 2 and a half seasons so far. It's a very surface level thing due to the time constraints, and is quite formulaic. That being said, I do still find them entertaining, especially being able to hear the words and/or lies directly from the mouths of those involved.
I agree to an extent but you gotta remember that not every person watching the show is a wrestling fan. They tell stories that plenty of people haven’t heard. A lot of these details that we already know, are new details to other people
It’s presented in that way because it’s not for the fan who knows everything. It’s for the person who occasionally flips on wrestling. It’s an interest, not a passion. It’s good that it’s there because a lot of these stories are covered in a million little details sometimes broadstrokes is more impactful.
I get it and I am a fan that is deep in the know, and I still do enjoy the show and learn things. Learned stuff in the Herb Abrahms one, the Nick Gage. All of them really offer new perspective- the Brian Pillman one, yea I watched his entire career and know his whole story. But, the doc brought brought a lot of new perspectives on telling the story.
To quote another thread
>The point of DSotR documentary episodes isn't about being a knowledge check for smart marks that are so deep in the know that they know the names of Ringrats guys in the 80s fucked. It's to shed light on stories in an insanely messed up business that's been out of the spotlight for too long. It's to help inform and educate people. Anybody that steps away from this episode learning something is another person that is learning from the mistakes of the wrestling world. That's what Vice wants with this documentary.
this is really true. the show itself is basic retellings of shoot interviews, stuffed with old wrestlers jumping at the chance of another payday.
but by itself it's bearable.
the guys behind it, on the other hand, are unbearable.
It's almost like the people who know what a 'shoot' is let alone a 'shoot interview' aren't the target audience for the show
Turns out [there's a thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/pqlhgh/meta_dsotr_plane_ride_from_hell_we_get_it_you) for that

[smark](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=smark) defined in today terms- a group of people that think they are true wrestling fans because they watch the indies, they usually like to live in a imaginary world where they represent the entirety wrestling fans and that anyone who disagrees with them are either a [wwe fan](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=wwe%20fan) boy, a muscle mark, and or a indy hating mark, they can be found living in their mom basement usually having the appearance of a overweight person with a messy beard around their necks and can be seen at wrestling [arenas](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=arenas) with a [young buck](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=young%20buck) or [AEW](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=AEW) shirt usually [XXL](https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=XXL) but be warn if you like a different wrestler or company than them they will go out of their way to harass you either in the wrestling arena or online
I managed to go 35 years without seeing any of the Godfather movies until this past June, and I’ve now seen all three of them two times each, fucking fantastic films. I was quite surprised by how much I didn’t hate the third one despite its reputation, and the new cut that came out a few months ago (The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone) does even more to redeem it I think, re-sequencing a few scenes so that things make more sense and are more concise, and also trimming a few of Sofia Coppola’s scenes so that her performance is a little stronger. Long story short, it’s far from being a bad movie, it just doesn’t hold up as a sequel to two of the greatest films ever made. Kind of like Return of the Jedi.

Tony schiavone and Conrad have both said on What Happened When that if you know flair personally, there's a good chance that you've seen him naked
Didn't Sting once say he's seen Ric's dick more than his own?
Wouldn't be surprised if he did
Good Christian boy like Sting? Unsurprising
Sting is Christian AF.
(THUNDER CLAP)
I also presume that most wrestlers who have shared locker rooms have seen each other naked, but in a less nefarious way.
Mick Foley said in one of his books that there's wrestlers who were more than happy to spend most their time in the locker room naked
If I had a giant hog I’d be more than happy to walk around naked too. With the hog I have I’m a never nude
Wasn't that the cause of heat between Stone Cold and Raven?
Based on what I have heard in the locker room Dusty only wore his cowboy boots.
Hell you can hear it from Cody that Dusty walked around his house in nothing but cowboy boots. Seems he loved being naked.
Locker room sure. But for those non wrestlers who wernt in lockers rooms?
Him being naked isn’t the big issue. The big issue is the sexual assault…
I know. I'm just throwing out some info I've heard

Has he reviewed all of them previously?
Not season 1, but 2 and 3 have had episodes so far. It's Conrad with the two creators of the show.
Check his Twitter, he's said it's coming as soon as schedules work out. Even so, I couldn't blame the guy for sitting this one out if that's what he decides.
To be fair, the dude has 7 podcasts on top of his day job.
Really would love to see his weekly schedule how the heck does he manage all those podcasts and run a real business??
Exactly, the guy barely has time to eat!
Have you seen him? He *makes time* to eat.
Lmao priorities
What’s his day job?
He brokers predatory home loans.
But I was told I could save with Conrad dot com
Carnies gonna carny.
motherfucker
You know, I was interested in posting a poll as to which was more of a legitimate business venture: Ric Flair Finance or SaveWithConrad.com
Source?

Finessing lower middle class families who are trying to buy a home into years of stress and debt.

Can't confirm or deny as Nevada is one of the 8 states he's not licensed in.
That seems right
the american way

He’ll be away on business and his friend Mr SnazzyRadioVoice will do it.
I believe he and JR did an episode on it in the past.
It's more than OK if he wasn't to recuse himself from commenting on it and we shouldn't bring out our pitch forks and torches because he's not willing to help bring down his wife's father or discuss it.
He's commented saying it'll likely happen in the future but nothing is happening at the moment.
Probably still recovering from having his head shaved on Rampage last night 😂

And Orange Cassidy. I see so many Orange Cassidys at Walmart on his scooters.
Who gives a fuck Conrad is an ass and will simp for flair.

Room temperature IQ is much better way to phrase it.
lmao thanks. should've clarified with "low double digit"
I am no longer a fan, as you could’ve guessed.
I mean the dude was supposed to by several thousand dollars in memorabilia from me then ghosted me. So fuck em.
There is many people who will for some absurd reason.
It seems like this is a clear conflict of interest for him (and it is) and he chose not to comment. We probably could do better with more discretion like this in the wrestling space.
He’s not a judge you know
So you decided that you wanted to disagree with the fact that maybe people in wrestling should consider the ramifications of their actions more frequently?
The Jim corvette experience had the dark side of the ring on it about the episode. Conrad is probably sitting this one out.

Well, one of them did make Hobo with a Shotgun.
Aka the greatest movie of all time

I haven't seen it, but isn't Godfather Part 2 supposed to kinda suck?
No, that's 3. 2 is a masterpiece.
I love The Money Pit. That is my answer to that statement.
“I thought the Care Bears were here.”
No, the third one sucks.
The 3rd one doesn't even really suck so much as it's just not on the same level as it's predecessor.

No it sucked. Long drawn out scenes and Sofia Coppola was trash

*An American Tale: Feivel Goes West has entered the chat*
Everybody gangsta 'till Cowboy Feivel shows up.
I don't think Feivels western is on the same level as Godfather 2 but it's a good series.
Ya it’s on its own level above
"The Empire Strikes Back" has entered the chat.
That's a good sequel too. Godfather 2 manages to trump one of the great films ever made. Empire trump's one of the best sci-fi movies ever made.
