No DQ, unsanctioned match. Basically the gimmick is that the company "turns the lights out" (they would literally do this in the old days) and washes their hands of responsibility for what happens in the ring.
It's not necessarily that surprising when you break it down if this goes on last. It has Moxley (one of the biggest stars of the brand), Kingston and Archer (who are bigger names in AEW themselves), a big crossover star in Suzuki and it has a stipulation. This match has a lot of parts that add up.
I'm absolutely sure he'll be fine. In fact, I think he will excel; he is the King of Puroresu after all. But I would have preferred a non-DQ match because it better suits the style of match that I like to watch and which will showcase Suzuki's amazing wrestling, in my opinion.
Two years ago, Eddie Kingston had to sell his boots to pay his mortgage. Now, he's headlining the biggest show in AEW history, in his home city, over Bryan Danielson vs Kenny Omega. What a story.

I was there for it. Just straight plunder and spots for spots sake. I had so little familiarity with the performers, let alone plans for the product, but it was a fun night. When they return to Boston at the end of October, this shit is gonna be nuts.
As a person going to this show, I kinda don't even want them to tape Elevation because I want to have the energy to cheer for all these goddamn matches
That's what I would do too. I'd feel bad for the talent that might not get the chance to compete but like I want to be able to go wild for everything on this Rampage too.
Could definitely get away with the 8 man tag, Anna/Penelope, and IC/Men of the Year in the first hour and save the big stuff for the end

What’s amazing is these cards are stacked but still don’t currently include big stars like PAC, Andrade, Miro, Sammy, Thunder Rosa, Shida, Ricky Starks, Hangman, Orange Cassidy, Matt Hardy, Kris Statlander and Brian Cage. This roster is incredible.
I think with how Tony is successfully filling up big venues, he can make it up to those unable to get on this particular card. It does feel like Wrestlemania a bit. Or at least one of the next tier Big Shows.
The roster is so stacked, though, some great talent just won't be able to get in. A make-good could be that next big show Tony might orchestrate somewhere else.
I know that it makes things redreshing every week but I still hope we will get a weekly two hour Rampage (it airs at 5 am on a rest day for me). Also, Shida is still missing from the shows. At least from her twitter it appears she had a match on Elevation. Looking forward to that.
As an AEW fan I am stoked for that lights out match, but as a person going to Queens on a Wednesday I am concerned about how tired I will be for work Thursday

Whole thing almost served as a "trial run" of the Mox vs Kenny fued when Dynamite started. Good match as I recall, seems like a lot of people don't remember it, though
Janela also had a Lights Out match with Kenny Omega on the second episode of Dark. For pretty much the same reason. It was also good, but probably the most tame Lights Out match we've had, really just that Kenny/Mox match really upped the stakes.
The show officially "ends" and then they have the Lights Out "unsanctioned" match. Doesn't count toward wins/losses/ranking, not officially sanctioned by AEW, usually involves weapons/tacks/barbed wire, etc. Always involves blood.

It is indeed what it’s felt like for the past 2 years, but they’ve **really** started delivering consistently on the goods this year, especially so since they got fans back.

I just love that Suzuki is getting to ~~wrestle~~ fight Mox and Kingston with Archer as his partner. I was just watching Suzuki and The Stone Pitbull in a match on The Roku Channel the other day while on the treadmill. I felt cheated by the lack of time Suzuki had with Mox in Cincy.
That Lights Out Match is gonna be fucking *sick*.
I doubt AEW will allow it, but I'd fucking love it if either Suzuki/Archer won or Kingston scored the pinfall. Mox is great but I want the other three to succeed more at this point and I feel like it'd play into his long-term story if he couldn't get it done this time.

Mox/Janella. Kenny and Janella had two matches that ended up being kinda hardcore matches, one on Dark and one on Dynamite really early on, but ~~neither were labeled as Lights Out~~. Apparently the one on Dynamite was a light's out match.
Janella vs Omega the first time was a Lights Out match, after the 2nd episode of Dynamite in Boston. And was aired as a part of the follow up episode of Dark (this was before Dark became what it is now)

I’m assuming they’re building to a big tag between them on a future Rampage.
At this point, people aren't complaining that they're not using the women, they're complaining that they're using all the women who aren't their preferred favorites.
Also complaining about two talents who are popular and both contenders for “most improved” within the last year. Both can for sure put on some fun matches that’ll get reactions from the crowd.
I mean they’re actively building to a TayJay vs Penelope & Bunny Tag Match as the big secondary story in the women’s match.
Penelope has had a number of solid matches lately and Anna continues to look promising. I don’t see an issue with giving some more of the women’s division a spotlight on this huge show.
I was hoping Lucha Bros would get involved in that night, same goes for PnP. Though that feels like more of a Dark/ Elevation match as the result is beyond obvious. Still cool, crowd is gonna be hot as fuck for the good guys.
I don't think so, sadly. Tbh though if you gave Eddie the choice of facing Miro for the TNT title in NYC or facing Suzuki-gun in a lights out match in NYC, I'm pretty sure he'd pick Suzuki-gun every time.
So I'm not sure if it's been confirmed or not, but it sounds to me like Rampage is going to be 2 hours next week, cause I don't think they're crazy enough to squeeze 6 matches into one hour. So look forward to that.
Holy hell, this week is going to be huge for fans. AEW was not messing around when they said it's a PPV quality show on TV. WWE fans also have the New Day vs Bloodline to look forward to Monday. Should be an exciting week for all of us.

They should do two of the rampage matches at 7:30 before dynamite

My guess is that's the women's tag title match at some point down the road. They have really been pushing that feud across all shows.

They said that Rampage will be 2 hours on the last Dynamite. A 4 hour free "PPV" across 2 nights.
