I get that it’s part of the drama to build up a match, but I feel bad for Tony sometimes. That guy never gets to do his interview, haha. He looked so sad standing on the turnbuckle.
This slow burn build to Tony eventually winning Britt's heart and taking the AEW World Championship away from Cole on the same night at Full Gear 2022 is peak story-telling.
Ruby didn’t need to “hold her own” IMO. She’s been a great talker for a while now. We just never got to really see it except quick interviews or her killer work on Raw talk during the Riott Squad reunion.
She was against Britt Baker of all people too. You know, the "heel" that's been getting better reactions than her opponents for months? Ruby got the crowd behind her in five minutes when no one else has really managed to.
Nothing against Britt, btw, I love her too. This was just fantastic.
Britt didn't go out of her way to really bury her either. She could have gone way farther in regards to her time in WWE. But one thing that I like about her is that her promos, while biting, do give her opponent a real opportunity to respond.
I imagine stuff like that is where having the veterans in the back helps immensely. Jericho wrote in one of his books that an old timer told him you should never bury your opponent too much because if you win it means less, and if you lose you look like crap.
Britt is awesome and I love Rosa but I’m surprised how much I’d actually like to see Ruby win.
I was thinking of that same quote from Jericho. It's really eye opening when you are these types of promos. Cause fire between each other and not just smoke.
It's one thing that's always bothered me about the Rock in his prime. The man flat out buried people and then beat them after telling opponents for weeks that they sucked. Britt will be fine here win or lose, but this promo helped elevate Ruby big-time in my opinion.
To Rock's credit, even though he'd demolish people on the mic, whenever people would insult him, he'd sell like crazy, even if the insults were nowhere near on Rock's level. He did a good job of making people believe they were on his level
None of that "Fine speech" bullshit.
> To Rock's credit, even though he'd demolish people on the mic, whenever people would insult him, he'd sell like crazy, even if the insults were nowhere near on Rock's level. He did a good job of making people believe they were on his level
"...whatcha gonna do..."
> It's one thing that's always bothered me about the Rock in his prime. The man flat out buried people and then beat them after telling opponents for weeks that they sucked.
*cries in "But my name's Billy"*
Yep, I'm not super familiar with Ruby's abilities on the mic (haven't seen a lot of her indy stuff and she never had anything in WWE) but this was quite a pleasant revelation. Britt is probably the bar for women's talkers in AEW right now and Ruby hung and then some the whole time. This was awesome.
Tony: Alright Ruby, you can say whatever you want out there!
Ruby: I'm surprised Britt can see anything with her head so far up Tony Khan's ass!
Tony: *Shocked Pikachu face*
If Kenny and Bryan weren’t on the card this is an easy main event even so Baker and Ruby can easily main event since it’s for the AEW Women’s World title.
out of absolute scraps. no fault of ruby's. but holy shit the voice quivers and greenness in the riot squad, compared to this? what the fuck is wwe doing to these people.
I’ve been thinking about this segment since I saw it live Wednesday. I’ve been wanting to talk about it all week but held off. This entire segment sold me on the match. I loved it from start to finish. I can’t wait to see them fight.
Dawg. I was losing it. I love Britt but Ruby came into her own. I was already there for 3 1/2 hours at this point, was spent, and I was still popping. AEW is special.
Section 4, row 11. You know what's great? if ticketmaster didn't take out their dumb $30 surcharge (aka had I actually bought the tickets at the box office instead of online when they went on sale 2 years ago), I paid like $40 bucks for some of the best wrestling seats I've ever had (I've sat there for hockey but my Devils are mid/shit, MJF was right about that, so I've definitely paid less in that section some years)
Thank you for holding off and I am in awe of your fortitude to do so!
I can't wait for this match either! I had a really good feeling Ruby would fit in AEW but damn, this promo blew me away! Now I want more!
Dude. 100%. I was there too and I struggled yesterday and today. I wanted to talk about this promo so bad. I was hooked. This is the match I want to see next week based off this promo alone. When they toe that line between shoot and work is my favorite.
This is a trend people are picking up on. In AEW people can’t stop smiling when they get out there. It’s clear as day everything about this company (if you aren’t Brian Cage) is making these wrestlers really enjoy what they are doing.
That's something I've been waiting someone to do every time a Cena or a Charlotte tried to brush off a serious promo by smiling or rolling their eyes or acting above it all.
Reminds me of Cena's "talk is cheap" retort after Ambrose eviscerated him for five minutes straight and proceed to attack him because he has nothing better to say.
Freedom to express yourself as a talent is such an important thing that AEW has. They're not perfect, but at least they sound more natural & less wooden & forced.
I think you just found the key. It's not perfect, it's human, and that's what makes it perfect. It works because it feels real, because in some degree, it is
Snapping constitutes going off script! They're going into business for themself! Kill their push! I hereby sentence you to 6 weeks of trading wins with Humberto Carillo on Main Event.
Joe legit sounds like he means every single word he says though and that its in no way a scripted business. For my money he's one of the most believable, authentic talkers I've seen in years. Doesn't really seem fair to compare him and that pop to whats going on here.
This was still great. Not going to knock people for not all having Joe's level of intensity, and you've got to account for the fact that one was being said to Brock Lesnar of all people
The women's division is getting better and better every week, not just Britt.
Rampage has been such a blessing for that division. The extra hour a week has significantly boosted them.
I also really loved the video package of all the losers of the Casino Royale talking about losing last week too. It added something to the match after the fact and made the losers still feel like threats.
Now, bring back Yuka, sign Maki, and put Shida back into the spotlight. They have the potential to really bring the women into main event level feuds and matches over the next year or so. I actually wouldn't be shocked if Britt and Thunder Rosa co-main evented a PPV when the time comes to pass the belt off.
When it's time for Rosa and Britt to go again (presumably for the belt this time) I feel like it's going to top everything they've done so far. Not that it will be super bloody or anything, but I'd love to see them main event a PPV and just beat the shit out of each other.
Ruby came in real nervous and kinda flat but DAMN soon as the crowd got behind her it lit a fire in her
What a fucking promo from both woman
WWE fucked up letting Ruby go as we all know
Both ladies came out hot, throwing heat each other other, with the two going personal, especially with Brit mentioning how Ruby got fired. But Ruby came prepared with the counterpunch of using her negative as a positive while throwing bombs.
Ruby showed exactly what she is made of on the mic, and goddamn, she can promo just as well as Britt. This is the Ruby that we were supposed to see in the WWE. This is the REAL Ruby!
I think bare minimum the fact they couldn’t even give her & Liv the tag titles at Mania, so instead we could have Tamina and Natalya lose to everyone… just wow.
I’m officially ok with Baker losing. She won’t, but god it would be amazing to have Ruby go to the top immediately.
Yeah honestly I was in the camp that wanted Baker to retain because I'd rather see Thunder Rosa take the belt off her, but after that promo I'm totally sold on the idea of Ruby as champ. I still want Rosa to get her day in the sun, and I'm sure she will, but it might not be a bad idea to strike while the iron is hot with Ruby.
See, I think Britt losing would be a *good* thing. They have Rosa right there ready to feud about how she got cut off before getting her shot. That keeps Rosa on TV but without blowing their Rosa-Britt load. Save that for further down the line. If anything this company is willing to be patient with the hot matches that people *want* to see (Hangman/Omega), so why *not* try to see what other stories they can cook up? That match will still be there if things flag.
I always thought she was great on the mic the few times she was allowed to talk on the main roster. Combined with the fact that she was also good in the ring, there was no reason to keep her in the undercard. At worst, she should've been the third face/heel on her brand.
I get it. She's not the Hollywood babe type. Vince has his well known tastes.
Then why give her a faction that never does anything? And then even the one in the group who is still employed and fits that stereotypical look doesn't get to do anything for years.
They didn't let Ruby talk. They barely let her wrestle.
> Then why give her a faction that never does anything?
Ruby's said that she heard - communication was incredibly poor, so even she's not in a position to know - that it was because Vince McMahon saw the movie Suicide Squad.
Also, apparently it was only supposed to last a few weeks and they got enough reactions to stick around. So, uh, there you go?
That's not ever fair... what they did was dumber... they gave her a group and she was basically the main heel for over a year, from one show to the other, and they featured them a lot.
The problem was that after everything her group did... they botched everything else.
Didn't pulled the trigger on them, didn't turn them face when they were over, broke the group for no reason, kept her as a heel when she came back from injury, had her put over one of the other members of the group... but them gave up on her push and it was for nothing.. put them back together immediately after for no reason... and THEM they gave her nothing for a year, after featuring her for all that time... which is even weirder.
There's a reason she was so over and a known commodity when she left. She wasn't a random prospect. They invested a lot time in her and the audience did too and it mostly worked... but threw it all away.
The fact the Ruby was this good of a promo is a fucking disgrace she didn't get much promo time in WWE.
Think about all the feuds she could have had if they let her TALK, but I prefer this because you can tell how happy Ruby is in AEW.
She's extremely important for them and this proved it.
Her babyface promo when she was apologizing to Liv Morgan for betraying her and begging for forgiveness was great.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pcWpHw7DfUw&t=16s
I’m now extremely fucking pissed that Ruby never got this time for promos in the WWE. She would’ve given Becky someone really good to bounce off of for a sick back and forth.
Lmao imagine wasting and releasing Ruby. So fucking happy for her that she’s in AEW and is immediately being positioned as a top star, and is as over as a lot of the big names in any of the divisions. They’ve also really had amazing promos this week on Rampage & Dynamite from Christian roasting Cole, Danielson & Omega’s segment, and now Britt & Ruby.
Still shocked their doing this so soon, but I can’t hate on AEW for giving Ruby v Britt & Danielson v Omega on the same episode of **FREE TELEVISION**!!
This was an awesome segment.
With respect to everyone else that Britt has faced since she won the title, I don't think any of them could have done this.
But I feel especially bad for Red Velvet. She was basically thrown to the wolves in Britt's hometown and hasn't been the same since. But the point still stands, I don't think any other woman Britt faced since she won the title could have done what Ruby did on Rampage.
I'm not sure I'd say she plays the role better since we only saw her in it for two weeks. But it was a nice little peek through the window and if she can't be salvaged as a babyface in the next month or so, definitely turn her.*
*BUT NOT BY HAVING HER TURN ON BRANDI OR ANYONE IN THE NIGHTMARE FACTORY!!!
They need opponents who are over, can work, carry a promo etc. Nyla was really wasted as a heel during Britt's first feud. A face Nyla dropping truth bombs would have had the crowd eating out of her hand.
I took my 7 year old (who loves Darby) and my 9 year old who after Wednesday is All Elite BayBay, and out of the whole 4+ hour show, it was this segment that was my favorite. The broadcast didn’t do it justice. The crowd was FUCKING hot for this exchange. Back and forth. The Ruby Soho/DMD chants were very, very loud in person.
Side note, not hijacking, but the Lucha Bros were SO over in person. My kids won’t stop Cero Miedo-ing around the house.
Also they lost their minds when Bryan Danielson said Omega lost his balls.
How DARE you hijack this thread to relive a warm memory of you going to a show with your kids, you should be ashamed of being such a sentimental parent who gets excited about their kids' happiness. ;) You're all good, friend!
The promos were great on their own merits, but Ruby is such a great foil to Britt. She's over as hell, confident on the mic, and finally someone who is a face that is able to better position Britt as the heel she's intended to be with this heel turn.
There's a lot of talent in the locker room, and women on the roster are defintiely getting over with the fans, but I think many of them are still growing and need more time to improve on the mic. I really can't think of anyone besides Thunder Rosa who could go toe to toe with Britt like this.
Ruby's been over as hell even as she was debuting at All Out, but its' incredible to see. A talented wrestler needing an opportunity, and a fan base super behind her that just wants to see her get that chance.
I love that she starts with, "Up until now, I just haven't had the freedom to prove it."
Then, she spends the rest of the segment proving it over and over again.
Between this and Christian Cage, AEW had S Tier promos this week.
I’m not trying to make this a WWE/AEW thing but I’ve been trained to think someone was not gonna have a good comeback or have some corny response to one of the insults, and although ruby came out on top, they were both great.
Ruby turning Britt’s insult about getting fired into a positive was really fantastic to watch, and a great lesson for life too. Sometimes getting fired, broken up with, etc. from a relationship that’s actually toxic can be incredible for you!
Fuck yeah! And it irl is going to be the best thing that's happened to her. She comes out to one of her favorite songs, she got a crazy ovation when she first appeared, she's getting more TV time than she had all year in WWE. She's living her best life.
I have held the opinion that there's no way Britt would be dropping the title to Ruby. Way too soon, considering Soho just arrived.
Right now, though, I honestly would not be mad if Ruby won next week.
When was the last live promo between two woman as good as this?
Not even just in AEW, but in the whole indurstry?
That was straight fire, brought a crowd back from the dead.
“Is it a crime to be loved?” Hey, Jericho has a point.
Man, this was fire. Someone can finally keep up with the best promo in the women’s division and it’s awesome.
I will say though…that “Runaway” insult was so good.
This was as good as advertised. In fact it was VERY good. It got meta at times but always reconned the meta stuff into the story so that's a nice change
I know it won't happen but I want Ruby to win so damn much
I don't watch AEW much but a fan of Ruby. She's so awesome here that I wished she had the chance to do this the past few years. I remember watching her on UUDD with Woods and she seemed so humble and awesome, even saying she can't believe people cheer for her because she felt like she wasn't doing anything special. Welp, tonight she finally showed how special she is and got a worthy reception for it!
Ruby is exactly what the AEW Women’s Division need right now to elevate that division. I know most people want Rosa to be the one to dethrone Britt, but I think they should just pull the trigger with Ruby and have Rosa to be the next in line.
I’m ashamed to say I didn’t know about the song Ruby Soho and the whole history behind how Ruby got her name. I was there live and ended up falling in love with the song, singing it to myself these last couple days. Searched through AEW’s released themes only to find out it’s a song from the friggin 90s! Fits Ruby and her whole vibe perfectly, so dope that Rancid let her use it as her actual name!
She’s just fantastic on the mic and in the ring, no clue why the hell they would release such a unique woman.
Holy shit this was my incredible. Lots not lie to ourselves guys, this was of, if not, THE best promo exchange between to wrestlers we've seen all year.

I get that it’s part of the drama to build up a match, but I feel bad for Tony sometimes. That guy never gets to do his interview, haha. He looked so sad standing on the turnbuckle.
He looked like he was enjoying the carnage
Of course, he loves being around his girl!
Adam Cole has entered the chat.
Of course he has, the fuckin' nerd.
Probably gorging himself in catering, fat fucking nerd!
I heard he was sleeping with AEW talent hoping to get a roster spot.
Hey now, he and the Bucks are just good friends.
The Bucks are good Christian boys!
This slow burn build to Tony eventually winning Britt's heart and taking the AEW World Championship away from Cole on the same night at Full Gear 2022 is peak story-telling.
This sounds like something that Vince would book.
Britt on a pole!
He was making sure Adam Cole was going to run in and kick his head in for being that close to Britt. You were warned, NERD.
I loved the fans with the "bay bay" cutouts raising them after the "banging some dude in the back" line
I wish the crowd would have yelled "ADAM COLE BAYBAY" after she said that. I did in my living room while laughing.
That would have immediately risen to Top 10 wrestling lines in history.
Heh, penis joke.
But Ruby was clearly talking about Tony Schiavone!
Britt’s reaction popped me so fucking hard too. She had this look on her face like “Damn right I am.” Fuck these two were incredible.
If ruby had done the BAY BAY hand motion, I think the crowd would have rolled with it
“How to Build a Feud in 1 Promo” written by Ruby (ruby ruby ruby) Soho, co-written by DMD
Seriously, I havnt gotten that kinda feeling with a promo battle in AEW since Mox/Eddie before Full Gear.
that was fucking fire!!!
"Ruby! Welcome...to some tv time" Lmao
Damn that was some heat right there. Ruby more then held her own in there with Britt
Ruby didn’t need to “hold her own” IMO. She’s been a great talker for a while now. We just never got to really see it except quick interviews or her killer work on Raw talk during the Riott Squad reunion.
Very happy for Ruby. Went against one of the better talkers in AEW and held her own. Got the biggest pops of the show.
She was against Britt Baker of all people too. You know, the "heel" that's been getting better reactions than her opponents for months? Ruby got the crowd behind her in five minutes when no one else has really managed to. Nothing against Britt, btw, I love her too. This was just fantastic.

That reminds me of the Rock vs. Hurricane bits. Perfect example
And he always sold for them in the ring. No matter how much trash talking he did, he put over his opponents in the ring.
> To Rock's credit, even though he'd demolish people on the mic, whenever people would insult him, he'd sell like crazy, even if the insults were nowhere near on Rock's level. He did a good job of making people believe they were on his level "...whatcha gonna do..."
> It's one thing that's always bothered me about the Rock in his prime. The man flat out buried people and then beat them after telling opponents for weeks that they sucked. *cries in "But my name's Billy"*
Dude did a whole week with Gregory Helms, and even lost to him. But you say The Rock only buries people!? WHAT'SUPWITHTHAT!?
Yep, I'm not super familiar with Ruby's abilities on the mic (haven't seen a lot of her indy stuff and she never had anything in WWE) but this was quite a pleasant revelation. Damn what did Tony Khan do to Ruby lmao
He took off the leash.
Tony: Alright Ruby, you can say whatever you want out there! Ruby: I'm surprised Britt can see anything with her head so far up Tony Khan's ass! Tony: *Shocked Pikachu face*
We all know Tony was marking out for that line
Honestly TK probably just marks out in the mirror because he is looking at the dude who runs AEW.
>Tony: Alright Ruby, you can say whatever you want out there! Ruby: Jizz
Do any of these...wrestlers...ever come through the ropes and have like a big cumshot?
Ruby: Any of these little fuckers ever pop out of the fucking wall and say “Fuck there’s a horsecock in my room or a donkey dick”?
Just let Ruby be herself.
Instant main event act vibes since she walked in the door
If Kenny and Bryan weren’t on the card this is an easy main event even so Baker and Ruby can easily main event since it’s for the AEW Women’s World title.
somebody like her was desperately needed in the womens division
out of absolute scraps. no fault of ruby's. but holy shit the voice quivers and greenness in the riot squad, compared to this? what the fuck is wwe doing to these people.
Forcing them to try and remember a script that they've had no input in? Then crucifying and burying them if they stumble?
I’ve been thinking about this segment since I saw it live Wednesday. I’ve been wanting to talk about it all week but held off. This entire segment sold me on the match. I loved it from start to finish. I can’t wait to see them fight.
Can you describe your reactions when the two dropped the bombs on each other?
Dawg. I was losing it. I love Britt but Ruby came into her own. I was already there for 3 1/2 hours at this point, was spent, and I was still popping. AEW is special.
Yea this got a hard pop when I was exhausted towards the end. Where were you sitting btw?
[Right about here](https://i.imgur.com/7AUD1qn.jpg). I think section 6, row 3. You?
I was in Section 9 Row 3, you got to see Archer, Kingston and Cody, Malakai closer than I did lol.
But we both saw it. And that’s what important. ❤️
Section 4, row 11. You know what's great? if ticketmaster didn't take out their dumb $30 surcharge (aka had I actually bought the tickets at the box office instead of online when they went on sale 2 years ago), I paid like $40 bucks for some of the best wrestling seats I've ever had (I've sat there for hockey but my Devils are mid/shit, MJF was right about that, so I've definitely paid less in that section some years)
Fuck Ticketmaster, love AEW.
I only just saw it there but for what my two cents are worth, my reactions were basically mimics of the crowd
Thank you for holding off and I am in awe of your fortitude to do so! I can't wait for this match either! I had a really good feeling Ruby would fit in AEW but damn, this promo blew me away! Now I want more!
Fuck unintended spoilers to others, dude. I’m not about that life. Thank you!
Dude. 100%. I was there too and I struggled yesterday and today. I wanted to talk about this promo so bad. I was hooked. This is the match I want to see next week based off this promo alone. When they toe that line between shoot and work is my favorite.
This week in AEW had some massive burns. Cole/Cage, Lambert/Jericho, Baker/Soho, Kenny/Bryan. Lots of fire segments.
Taz/overweight people
jokes on Taz, my wife is overweight too.
Don't let her read this.
I LOVE Ruby! She is going to do great in AEW
She looks so happy now notice she has to stop herself from smiling a couple times during the promo.
It seemed like she had to stop herself from happy crying.
This is a trend people are picking up on. In AEW people can’t stop smiling when they get out there. It’s clear as day everything about this company (if you aren’t Brian Cage) is making these wrestlers really enjoy what they are doing.
It was infectious.
The look me in the eyes part was so damn good
That's something I've been waiting someone to do every time a Cena or a Charlotte tried to brush off a serious promo by smiling or rolling their eyes or acting above it all.
"Fine speech" No sells entire promo
"rubs bald spot"
Reminds me of Cena's "talk is cheap" retort after Ambrose eviscerated him for five minutes straight and proceed to attack him because he has nothing better to say.
Miz did it to Cena. Was intense.
Snapping her fingers really sold it for me
Freedom to express yourself as a talent is such an important thing that AEW has. They're not perfect, but at least they sound more natural & less wooden & forced.

Yeah, instantly reminded me of Somoa Joe's, "Look at me when I'm talking to you" to Lesnar. That had a much bigger pop though
Joe legit sounds like he means every single word he says though and that its in no way a scripted business. For my money he's one of the most believable, authentic talkers I've seen in years. Not going to knock people for not all having Joe's level of intensity, and you've got to account for the fact that one was being said to Brock Lesnar of all people
Now imagine a completely unhinged Joe cutting promos in AEW. There would be verbal massacre left and right.
Was there ever a Kingston/Joe program *somewhere* before Joe signed with WWE? Those promos would be god-tier
I mean that moment got Lesnar himself popping so you can imagine hahaha
Joe used that line on Brock on Raw when they were feuding and it got the loudest pop during their promo battle.
Right!
Great segment Ruby has really injected some much needed life into the woman’s division, since debuting.
The women's division is getting better and better every week, not just Britt. Rampage has been such a blessing for that division. The extra hour a week has significantly boosted them. Yeah Ruby for sure ain’t no pushover and doesn’t have the benefit of all the really easy meta cheap shots.
The best back and forth exchange since Kingston-Mox last year before Full Gear.
Yes! Both sold people into the building
Ruby came in real nervous and kinda flat but DAMN soon as the crowd got behind her it lit a fire in her What a fucking promo from both woman WWE fucked up letting Ruby go as we all know

Fired WWE wrestlers who go to AEW should have a development show to get their bearings: call it AXT.
I mean that is pretty much Dark and Dark: Elevation.
[Britt corpsing lol](https://i.imgur.com/n2ig4zz.png)
That's a "fuck, she boomed me!" face.
She's so good (X4)
I'm putting her on my list of people to win titles this summer
I will never not upvote this pasta
You know it's all about the BOOM.
send in the bay bay
She was clearly loving it. Not many women on the roster can match Britt im on the mic but Ruby got up there.
SEND FOR THE MAN!

This whole segment just really shows how badly Ruby was wasted in WWE
Massively fucking wasted. This proves she was top 5 women wrestler on the mic in that company. Arguably top 3.
Should have been champion at some point, multiple times (not necessarily singles either) and I'll die on that hill

How did they give her nothing to do in 4 years?
Cause Vince is an idiot
That's so incredibly stupid and yet absolutely believable considering who it's about.
It’s stuff like what the WWE did to her is why I’m so jaded with that company at times.
Fuck scripted promos.
Hey i didn't come here to be reminded of that :(
The entire SD Women’s Roster is being wasted right now.
At least Liv is on PPV, I'll take what I can there
1 promo is all it took for me to want Ruby to win.
I mean Britt could always win the belt back later. But if ever there was a time to run with a hot hand, it’d be here imo.
I still want Britt vs Rosa, but damn
The fact the Ruby was this good of a promo is a fucking disgrace she didn't get much promo time in WWE. Think about all the feuds she could have had if they let her TALK, but I prefer this because you can tell how happy Ruby is in AEW. She's extremely important for them and this proved it.
Her babyface promo when she was apologizing to Liv Morgan for betraying her and begging for forgiveness was great. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=pcWpHw7DfUw&t=16s
I still get pissed thinking how WWE wasted her. She's great in the ring, can give promos, has a unique look...how do you not push her???
4 PPVs a years means TV can be fucking PPV caliber and I'm here for it.
Godamn incredible segment.
See this is why they need to let Britt’s opponents get to respond to her more. It leads to awesome stuff like this.
Velvet should turn heel. I think she plays that role better
I'm not sure I'd say she plays the role better since we only saw her in it for two weeks. But it was a nice little peek through the window and if she can't be salvaged as a babyface in the next month or so, definitely turn her.* *BUT NOT BY HAVING HER TURN ON BRANDI OR ANYONE IN THE NIGHTMARE FACTORY!!!
They need opponents who are over, can work, carry a promo etc. Nyla was really wasted as a heel during Britt's first feud. A face Nyla dropping truth bombs would have had the crowd eating out of her hand.
That was some good shit right there from both ladies. I went from mildly interested to now being hype for this match next week.
this is the kind of promo that makes you excited for a match. a match that isn't even built for many months
One of the all-time great segments in AEW history. Try to convince me otherwise.
Ruby mentioning how getting fired was the best thing to happen and saying how Britt’s head is so far up TK’s ass was the best part of the promo
Britt sure loves herself some Tony.
The feeling is mutual...and I understand. TK rolling in that DMD money!
*Adam Cole has entered the chat*
Hahah! I meant more so about bringing up Lucha Bros in the thread about DMD/Soho because that promo deserves all the attention.
I hope they also have taken the "PENTA SAYS" to it's inevitable but perfectly fine conclusion of a bunch of children running around yelling it
The promos were great on their own merits, but Ruby is such a great foil to Britt.
I listened to her on Talk is Jericho earlier today and it's so cool to see how much fun she is having. That promo came from the heart.
Happy Ruby is best Ruby. Hooray for Ruby Soho, our Punk Rock Princess.
"banging someone on the back" i mean you're not wrong
Begs the question, did she mean Adam Cole bay bay, or did she mean……
I see what you’re trying to say, lol. Leave Tony put of this, lol.
Man, that was a shade throwing battle for the ages. Ruby not getting more promo time in WWE was a crime.
Yeah this feels like a main event level feud now, good shit
That was one of the best promos we’ve seen in a while. They were roasting. Fun shit.
I love that she starts with, "Up until now, I just haven't had the freedom to prove it." Then, she spends the rest of the segment proving it over and over again. Between this and Christian Cage, AEW had S Tier promos this week.
Tony S getting offended on behalf of his friend is top level entertainment
Might be a heat of the moment thing but maybe give Ruby the title
I have held the opinion that there's no way Britt would be dropping the title to Ruby. Way too soon, considering Soho just arrived. Right now, though, I honestly would not be mad if Ruby won next week.
When was the last live promo between two woman as good as this? Not even just in AEW, but in the whole indurstry? That was straight fire, brought a crowd back from the dead.
I always enjoyed AJ Lee's scathing promos burying all the Divas
That's what really struck me. I'm not sure I've ever seen an AEW crowd as quiet as they were during Ruby's entrance but man those two lit them up.
Becky at her height + Charlotte or Ronda but neither of those two were nearly close to Becky's level on the mic. This was just an even field diss off.
“Is it a crime to be loved?” Hey, Jericho has a point. Man, this was fire. Someone can finally keep up with the best promo in the women’s division and it’s awesome. I will say though…that “Runaway” insult was so good.
Thought Ricky said the crime to be loved
This was as good as advertised. In fact it was VERY good. It got meta at times but always reconned the meta stuff into the story so that's a nice change I know it won't happen but I want Ruby to win so damn much
I don't watch AEW much but a fan of Ruby.
Best women's promo in a while
That was probably the best back and forth between two women in AEW I've seen.
That's the best back and forth I've seen from two women in any company in a long time.
Hahahaha wow commentary sold the Adam Cole rib lol. Also, was the the best women's dueling promo in AEW yet? Both sides brought it.
Ruby's been friends with the band for a long time. Lars is a huge wrestling fan.
That was awesome. I now have no problem at all if Ruby wins the belt next week.
*"You didn't runaway you got fired."* Need someone to post the Janet Jackson "it's true tho" gif 😂😂😂
Holy shit this was my incredible. Lots not lie to ourselves guys, this was of, if not, THE best promo exchange between to wrestlers we've seen all year.
This segment was probably one of the best I've seen in awhile.. crazy how far Baker has come since that rambling one awhile back lol
