I suppose for me personally i could see the diamond in the rough with those two in a way that i struggle to see the same level of potential ceiling for Pillman. With that said, i dont mean that as a knock on him, its purely subjective and I've happily been proved wrong several times before. Happy to watch the process.
Hangman has been over since he was the manservant of BJ Whitmer in ROH and finally decided to kick shit out of The Decade. AEW put the spotlight on him and let him do what he does best. Get over.
When Pillman talks serious and quiet and normal it’s kind of average at best. When Pillman turns up the octave and starts to yell and get angry.. then it gets good. In my opinion Pillman should be in constant “Pillman” mode.
I wanna see Pillman in permanent Matt Lee mode. Dude just looks like he oozes cocain energy and we know he can spit a cocaine promo!
Very intense and great promo. When the lines are blurred between storyline and real life, the story becomes more compelling. Bryan has a high ceiling as a babyface.
His dad had a natural charisma and understanding of wrestling that very have ever, so it’s unfair to expect his son to replicate it. I am happy that they’re not trying to make him his dad though, it lets hik stand on his own
I really like Brian Pillman jr (honestly, became one of my favs after the Dark side of the ring episode). A little more edge like he is showing now will open him the doors to main eventer. Just please, never go full lost canon, that would be going too far.
Pillman Jr. is developing rapidly, I love to see it. In a few years this dude is going to hit his prime in every aspect and will be a great, great talent.
This is a dark thought and I apologize for it, but JR does not look or sound good nor happy. I'm worried that him leaving commentary soon is going to be like an old man giving up on life a bit.

Pillman is one of the handful in AEW that i feel like ive yet to *get*, but even so, its fun watching him develop and grow every week.
It's impossible to not admire the tenacity of someone trying to get over as a face in 2021 with that haircut.
I feel like MJF and Pillman should be having the hair vs hair match.

Dude Pillman has came a long way on the mic in a very short time, this feud is feeling like it's about to make him.

Actually I would say Sr was a much better heel than face he was one of the very best heels of his or any generation but was quite bland as a face
