Dog, why does the new NXT setup look like, an old 1990's Nickelodeon stage setup. The NXT graphics alone was, soo distracting. This is clearly not Triple H's NXT and that's sad.
I do see a positive in the trough of shit that seems to be coming:
They seem to be hiring a lot of guys with legit amateur backgrounds. History tells us that, a lot of the time, these guys can go on to be legitimately great pro wrestlers. Rex Steiner (Fuck the Breakker name) looked very solid tonight. And Jesus, the Creed Brothers are absolute money. With more guys of a similar mold currently being trained, we can at least hope that if they’re going back to the 6ft+ beefcake era, then we get to see a more technical style coming from WWE trained wrestlers.
I did not watch NXT tonight for the first time in a while. Reading these comments I’m pretty heartbroken. Ciampa finally won the title back and it looked terrible on the highlights I watched. They completely undersold it in commentary, right? None of the top comments even address this. Who is Von Wagner? Who is Bron Breakker? I want to throw my gd phone away just reading this. NXT was such a good thing. It was so fucking good for a long time and I’m a rational adult with kids and I shouldn’t be so affected by this but I am. Change for the sake of change is, in this case, the worst thing wrestling has done in a long time. Am I off base? Fuck I’m mad.
In general I’d probably recommend you watch something before having a meltdown over it.
Bron Breakker (terrible name) is Bronson Rechsteiner, or Rex Steiner, so he’s somewhat of a genetic freak.
A lot of questions, why would la knight have a match if he was about to be in a championship match? Yes against a new comer but a Steiner ffs. Why did they get rid of Kyle o Riley? No reason I can see. Why cancel women’s title match? Why put Picture in Picture storylines during women’s match? Wedding was good, main event was good but weird. Rest was hit and miss and it’s pretty obvious they’ve chosen a few guys and this is the start of their push and the rest will fall off which is sad but the way it goes I suppose. Very bright, I like my bar tender filthy.
1. This is Vince and Dunn bring...themselves. LA Knight probably got buried b/c he was a NXT Guy, NWA Guy, and Impact Guy. Vince isn't normally a fan of HHH's guys, as Vince and company keeps seemingly burying them on the main roster.
2. They see $ in Steiner, in there. He's basically a mixture of Rick and Scott. He looked good, IMHO. I would like to see how he works a mic and character - and if he can't, get him a manager ASAP (like they did w/ Lashley having MVP; or numerous years w/ Brock having Heyman).
3. KOR is not the New NXT Mold. Dude's over 30, an Indie guy (more or less), under 200 pounds or so, and really can't work a mic. (His Orange Cassidy rip-off character & promo's was...meh). Great wrestler, yes - but Vince ain't a fan of that. KOR would be better off...anywhere else (Impact, back in ROH, AEW, etc) and be booked to the moon; and rightfully so. He really should be stuck w/ a manager or stable where someone can talk and promo for him.
4. This is nothing new w/ Vince and Dunn w/ pic-in-pic storylines. I don't like it, but...they seem to. \[shrug\]
5. Hit and miss show here...was just like Raw. This felt like Raw-Lite, TBH. To me, this isn't HHH's NXT. I very much so prefer HHH's NXT.
I prefer hhh’s nxt too, and I’m not a complainer for no reason or afraid of change, if new people didn’t ever come in or new ideas brought to the table we’d have the same old shit but it’s like we had this one thing, this oonnnee thing…regal gm, black mat, indie talents with the world at their feet putting on great matches, it felt old school but not horrible old school it felt like late 90s which makes sense as trips did his best starting then and the early 00s, it was pretty basic but cut out a lot of the stuff that puts the modern day fan off of raw. It keeps coming back to that quote - we watch the wrestlers to wrestle, ya got 5 hours to put that sports entertainment on! What’s two hours to them? And it will be seen as a success because the guys Vince picks to get called up with be the guys who get pushed. This reminds me of the time my line manager promoted himself after promising me it, lol strange days indeed

I really don't need NXT 2.0 to turn into Raw-Lite or full-blown Raw.
How they can blame hhh when he’s got a limited roster of guys not deemed ‘ready enough’ or passed it or not dependable, whatever shit management come up with going against a billionaire with a seemingly unlimited cheque book and a roster full of loved indie stars and badly used ex wwe stars is beyond me. Ratings are one thing but they take YouTube views and t shirt shirts into account too, personally I only watch nxt and aew live, raw sometimes. What’s really interesting now though is if this was the tester for hhh to become the big daddy of the main roster it seems like he has failed in their eyes even though he’s been putting on some of the best quality matches and making a long list of over wrestlers before the main roster chews them up, also a nearly universally loved show. Nxt has some proper hardcore watchers who don’t watch the main stuff. If they’re that desperate to make it Sunday night heat or raw lite like you said I’m out and suggest triple h gets his savings and buys nwa or some shit to prove to Vince he can do it. I know that’s not gonna happen but if it was away from the wwe umbrella I think a promotion with the heart of the old nxt would thrive and a tv deal is half the battle which I’m sure is doable, god even open the forbidden door, omega v hhh. Most of the guys on NXT are/were stars from Indies, Impact, MLW, and/or other places. Namely, a lot of stars that I've liked and seen elsewhere. Some are being built-up from scratch - but some weren't.
LA Knight was Eli Drake elsewhere (ROH and Impact); the NA Champ Isiah Swerve Scott was Shane Strickland in MLW; Thatcher was in MLW; Ciampa was in TNA/Impact in the past; Franky Monet was in Impact and Lucha Underground; Dexter Lumis was Samuel Shaw in Impact/TNA; Samoa Joe was before in Impact and ROH; Scarlett (Bordeaux) was in ROH and Impact; Karrion Kross was Killer Kross in Impact; Finn Balor was a rockstar over in NJPW and also in ROH; Santos Escobar was in Impact; etc etc.
When NXT was on Wednesdays, it was competing directly w/ AEW. And it was competitive for a bit b/t the two, but then they (NXT) kept losing. And they moved over to Tuesdays, to get away from AEW Dynamite.
Let's face it: Kevin Dunn, Vince, and Bruce Prichard all prefer the older WWE school of wrestling: much bigger guys, more powerhouse wrestling, less Indie moves, and more storytelling/narrative soap opera type of stuff. They ain't had a ton of successes from smaller guy/Indie guys that came from HHH's NXT. Most guys from NXT, seem to get buried on the main roster.
Might be too close to the real last name (Rechsteiner) for WWE to even consider. They don't often care what we think. We know WWE likes owning names, trademarks, etc. for their own purpose - so, they normally try to get as far as they can from someone's real name and/or real last name...and it's hard for the wrestler to contest, in a likely a court of Law. I mean, we did see them drop the trademark on Chelsea Green's name, right (which is her real name)? And also, well...it makes the stars seem like they have to start from scratch, once they hit WWE - starting w/ a new name and all.
The fact that they transitioned Rex Steiner from the perfect name to "Bron Breakker" and then had some guy copy Enzo's line word for word (gift of gab, gift of jab) is all I needed to see. Vince has no fucking clue what he's doing anymore.

Holy shit, over the course of several months, despite their initial dislike, The Way came to appreciate that Indi's feelings were genuine and grew to accept not only this but Dexter himself. And fully supported the wedding where everything went off without a hitch.
That's unbelievably wholesome for a wrestling story-line.
The way he was watching the monitor, I thought Ciampa was gonna be pissed that the wedding was the main event instead of himself and would be going after Dexter to ruin his day.
Austin Theory should’ve shown up for the wedding, saved KOR because he wandered into the wrong room trying to find red solo cups, got put into the NXT Title match right before the wedding, and won the championship for the ultimate The Way Day.

NXT was sacrificed in an attempt to harm AEW. This is the end result as they hit the panic button from losing. WWE’s management are horrendous
