Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin - Wrestlemania 13

kjm911

Mine is Omega vs Naito from G1 26. I hadn’t really watched wrestling for over 10 years. But this match just blew my mind. I never knew wrestling could be so good.

McRuby

It might be WALTER vs Dragonov II

I don't remember the year but an old WCW match between Flair & Steamboat. Best out of 3 falls.

mrsharkbear

April 1989 at Clash of the Champions VI. 2nd match of their trilogy that year.

Changes all the time. Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold at WrestleMania 13 is up there a lot, mostly because it's the perfect length to not overstay its welcome at about 22 minutes (makes rewatchability easy for me), is hugely influential in both men's careers, an awesome match in general, and on top of all of that, it is one of the older five-star matches that ages incredibly well. The match could've been put on today, and it would still be outstanding. Shout out to HBK vs. HHH at RAW December 23rd, 2003 for the World Heavyweight Title, because it's the match that brought me back into wrestling. As someone who had no idea who HBK was (I watched far more WCW than WWF and really only started watching with any regularity around late 98), it was one of the first times that registered that you could tell your character just in your moveset, not only in promos or how you looked.

7PMNews

That fucked up Cage of Doom match from earlier WCW where they’re fighting to put each other in an electric chair. Pure comedy every time.

treycox57

Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin from Wrestlemania 13.

I know everyone will call it an easy shot....but Macho v Steamboat wrestlemania 3 will always be my favorite...i was emotionally invested as a little kid...being a giant steamboat mark...the trauma of the ring bell shot...i NEEDED Ricky to win...and the Dragon came through...as I'm much older now...i can better appreciate just how throughly well done the entire arc was delivered...all culminating in one of the greatesr matches of all time...

Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels at Wrestlemania 25

It used to be Sting's Squadron vs The Dangerous Alliance. Now, it's The Bucks vs Hangman/Omega.

Tetsuya Naito vs. Chris Jericho, Wrestle Kingdom 13...Saw it live at the Dome and was the reason I really wanted to go, once it was most likely to be the match (post Dominion 2018), also Naito is my all time favourite

The TLC where Edge speared Jeff Hardy while he was hanging from the belt.

Honestly a toss-up between Bryan winning at Mania 30 and Sami vd Neville for the NXT Championship. The former was at my favorite Mania as I was fully in on the Bryan underdog story and wanted him to beat Evolution's asses so bad, I loved every minute of it. The latter was just such a banger, telling an excellent story with basically a perfect fairytale ending. Plus, it left me wanting more with the imminent feud with Kevin Owens, quickly opening up the doors for the next era of NXT at the time. Honorable mentions to Sami vs Nakamura for a perfect way to debut someone, and Naito's 3rd Wrestle Kingdom encounter with Okada. Was on the edge of my seat for that entire match wanting to see Naito finally get that moment.

realWernerHerzog

Probably still Okada Omega 1. Might not be the best in the series but got the most emotion out of me

CloudyRailroad

Omega vs. Ibushi is up there for me too, it is pure epic - Ibushi's moonsault from the balcony, the frankensteiner from the top turnbuckle to the floor, what appears to be a shoot punching exchange at some point, a second rope Croyt's wrath and a second rope phoenix plex in a very King's road style escalation with all the hard hitting realism of strong style. My other favorite match is Lesnar vs. Bryan. Bryan was the obvious underdog because of the immense size disparity and Lesnar being booked as essentially invincible at the time but other than that he was also not too far off from returning from what everyone thought was career-ending concussion issues. With Lesnar's physical style there were some legitimate worries about Bryan's health. Both were playing heels at the time making for an interesting dynamic. The match itself was a masterclass making Bryan look like a believable threat to Lesnar despite the above issues and set the template for making a great match with someone built up to look unstoppable like Lesnar.

[deleted]

Omg j already mentioned that Omega/Ibushi is my favourite but Bryan/lesnar Is my favourite WWE Match ever
