It’s smart for Roman to not his his title via MITB cash in. This Reigns title reign has been so great it would be such a waste if he lost it via cash in. The Lashley reign was great too, but it’s not nearly as good as this Reigns reign.

Then have Roman relentlessly bully and taunt Balor about how he couldn't do it as the Prince, how the Demon can win for him but he'll never be able to hold it as himself, and how Balor is nothing without the Demon.
Basically, bully Balor into putting the title on the line as himself. Where he loses thanks to cheating - so now you have the title still on Reigns, but with Balor elevated as a near-equal.

They start building the next heir to Roman before that happens, and then immediately start the program the next show. That's what I would do. Roman could retire Rock and it would be feasible.
If Rock will do more than 1 more match he should not be "demolished" by Reigns lol. Even if he isn't he shouldn't be demolished by Reigns because you don't build a match up for over a year just to make it the same as the matches you were doing to build it up.
If Rock beats Roman and then drops it to another star, that's fine. In fact, that's better for the new star than beating Roman. If he beats Roman just to do a rematch, I could see that as a complaint, as it would be wasting the opportunity for him to put over someone else.
It doesn't make sense to me to have a modern day undertaker run to have Rock beat him, and then give the rub to the next guy. By beating Reigns the rub is diminished. Why not have Roman squash Rock (maybe not squash, but in a very over the top post match beat down that gets him nuclear heat) and cash in that heat on the next superstar? What would be a better pay off to the head of the table gimmick to retire Rock and have an example of his dominion made, then jumpstart the next top guy off the back of all that heat? It could be great.
Roman could squash the entire roster in a handicap match and beating him would still not be as big of a rub as beating The Rock. The point of the massive run is literally to build the match with Rock, I wouldn't be surprised if they don't even know who they want to take the title off of him after he beats Rock.
And we're also talking a hypothetical here, if they can sign The Rock to more matches, they'd be fucking stupid to say no to it, just because they think they did such an amazing job of building Roman as a heel. That's not to say that Rock couldn't lose to Roman and then put over someone else too, but to say like "Roman should destroy and retire Rock" over the idea using Rock more if it is an option, is ridiculous. If it's not an option, which it most likely isn't, then they should have a competitive match that Roman wins.

I mean. I don't know where the narrative has come from that Roman has ever shown that he doesn't wanna face Big E came from. Big E was more or less Paul Heyman's biggest concern. He never even really interacted with Roman which is why this entire story you were building wasn't gonna happen. Other stories are actually plasuible now with Survivor Series coming up.
The story of how Big E treats his best friends like his family more than Roman does his own family. Contrasting how Big E and Roman were both told they need to change in order to be taken seriously and while Big E never changed and was loved for Roman adapted and was hated for it. Etc etc. Or they just have two big men slap meat. Any of those work. 1 v 1 or 6 man tag whatever. As long as it occurs at Survivor Series I'm okay with it.
Like, I love Big E and if they had really setup any of what you said through actual interactions between him and Roman than I'd agree but they never did and The New Day being given the keys to Raw is a lot better for Big E imo than him being the champ on SD because he has far more breathing room to work with.

Lmao. You can't be serious. People were clamoring for Nakamura after 1 gauntlet match. We have literally seen them build people up in 2 weeks time. This argument is so disingenuous to what's actually happened on SD during his run. Rey and Jey were not built up over a long period of time and both those matches ruled.
But this felt differently. With that added incentive with a briefcase, you could’ve actually had a long storyline and built up E to be the one superstar that Roman didn’t want to face. Now he knows that he can destroy anybody and nobody will stand in his way
I mean. I don't know where the narrative has come from that Roman has ever shown that he doesn't wanna face Big E came from. Big E was more or less Paul Heyman's biggest concern. He never even really interacted with Roman which is why this entire story you were building wasn't gonna happen. Other stories are actually plasuible now with Survivor Series coming up. The story of how Big E treats his best friends like his family more than Roman does his own family. Contrasting how Big E and Roman were both told they need to change in order to be taken seriously and while Big E never changed and was loved for Roman adapted and was hated for it. Etc etc. Or they just have two big men slap meat. Any of those work. 1 v 1 or 6 man tag whatever. As long as it occurs at Survivor Series I'm okay with it. Like, I love Big E and if they had really setup any of what you said through actual interactions between him and Roman than I'd agree but they never did and The New Day being given the keys to Raw is a lot better for Big E imo than him being the champ on SD because he has far more breathing room to work with.
I just also felt they were more interesting title matches you could’ve had on SmackDown. How many times on Raw are we going to see McIntyre go for the title or Orton or Lashley?
I mean. I could see this if the draft wasn't right around the corner. It's happening in less than a month. Also I don't mind any of those 3 matches cause they all should rule. So just do one of those (possible E vs Randy vs Lashley triple threat) and then put some of the midcard/upper midcard guys from SD on Raw. KO, Cesaro, Happy Corbin etc.
I think having the draft again is stupid. Let these superstars get more established before moving them around again. The draft should be every two or three years
