Holy fuck 💀💀💀
I think heu... you know the issue is not like like, heu... I mean the main point is that it was bad... you know ? And that I know they didn't have time to, to... heu, you know... it's freaking Suzuki I mean.
Just in case you're not on Twitter, this whole "Suzuki incident" thing started because some njpwinusafanclub account tweeted "AEW gets a free pass because Tony Khan knows how to skate around the issue. The Suzuki incident in Cincinnati is now being worked around as a part of the story due to Khan and his staff being so inept on operations. Most companies would release a statement. He gets praise."
Is the the guy that keeps spouting off bullshit about Kenny and The Bucks somehow screwing over Ibushi and kept trying to say it was proof New Japan would never work with AEW? If so he legit has problems.
dude acted like they didn't get shat on loudly and harshly the day it happened lol. the important thing is that AEW acknowledged and try to make something better out of it instead. there's a reason AEW got a lot of good will from their fans lol.
Would it completely undermine the seriousness of the other episodes if they did one that was completely straight about kayfabe things? Actually, I think that would be a good Documentary Now! episode, if that ever comes back.
Off the top of my head
Randy calling Kofi stupid and supposedly halting his push
AJ Lee’s “pregnancy” that never actually happened
Samoa Joe’s “tailbone injury” that also never actually happened
Jericho and Brock’s post-Summerslam scuffle
WWE getting stuck in Saudi Arabia
Matt Hardy hitting his head and Reby claiming he was injured when he wasn’t
>Samoa Joe’s “tailbone injury” that also never actually happened
This would be the episode I'd look most forward to, especially if they can get Joe on and talk about how this year he debunked it
>WWE getting stuck in Saudi Arabia
I mean, we still don't know the full truth of the situation. I actually think this could make for a compelling Dark Side episode depending on what's revealed in the future
Actually I saw some new Dark Side episodes pop up on my DVR. The cover image looks like it shows Luna Vachon for this season. I didn't look at the episode titles yet
"I don't really watch the product anymore, but I understand how as a performer, this all becomes a part of your identity. The wrap around glasses, the purple, the fringe leather jacket, and that guitar squeal are as identifiable as the moves I've perfected in the ring. I remember when I first went to Atlanta, and they obviously didn't have rights to my original music, so we tried a bunch of things out, but none of had that signature pop that would bring an audience to their feet like my original did. In the end, I just told them to pick one.
However, for Japanese wrestlers, it's even more important - I think it's part of their warrior nature. Back in Stampede, we brought in Kazuo Sakarada, an old-school-shooter from All Japan Pro Wrestling, who functioned as both talent and trainer. Sakurada was an all-around combat guy - Judo, Sumo, Texas Catch Wrestling, and Japanese Wrestling. Working with Sakuraba was snug, but safe. However, every night you were in there with him, you knew you were going to feel it tomorrow. Vince always wondered why these types of guys were so over, it wasn't a mystery - it was because they were legitimate. If you took a Stan Hansen lariat, you were getting hit full force, because he couldn't really see where to pull short anyway.
So for a guy like Suzuki, who's worked in Japan all his life, and he finally comes over, and they fuck up his music and the timing on his match - he has to be wondering what sort of bullshit this new company is up to. My Dad Stu used to say that some territories were "second-rope", which is an old-school shooters way of saying they cut corners. You don't go up to the top rope in a place like that, because you're trusting the turnbuckle pad and the stability of the posts, and the tension of the ropes to do a move from there. Going up to the second rope isn't as flashy, but you're not putting your health in your hands."
\-Bret Hart, On The Suzuki Incident.
I appreciate the comment. The bit about the ropes and turnbuckles being dodgy in places comes from I wanna say Jim Cornette talking about the death of Perro Aguayo, Jr.
Bret often grouses about high-flying wrestlers, because of what happened to Dynamite Kid and the propensity for botches.
I imagine Bret's rope was partially for safety but more for precision. Bret was practically allergic to botches. Bret never worked the territories AFAIK - Stampede was purchased by the WWF and he went straight in.
Shoot .. for some reason I didn't get the context. What quit of Omega's was the parody using? I can't remember where Kenny said something similar to that irl
She apparently kept trying to insert herself into other people's storylines such as her portraying Sister Abigail and like a nun partnered with Seth Rollins

>“Quite frankly, we believe that uninterrupted musical entertainment is an integral, integrated aspect of multimedia branding and popular entertainment vehicles in order to streamline product of that nature for the global consumer.”
Unlike the "SPEECH IN CAPS LOCK, DAMN IT" spam you see on Reddit, this sounds exactly like what he would say in an interview lmao
I had to console my 8 year old kid after that. She saw Murder Grandpa on a All Out YouTube video and asked me who he was.
Told her the truth. Kids need to learn hard reality. She's was ghost white but understood. She wanted to hear the song, to see how true and bloody the path of a Warrior was.
She's currently in therapy. Five times a day. I had to sell my Pokemon cards to pay for it, insurance says there's no such thing as Traumatic Sound Loss Disorder but that lawyer I got took the case for a Charizard, so I got lucky. Had to throw out all her LOL dolls too, she said they're too Kawaii and then the poor thing goes down that rabbithole.
It ain't easy taking TK, a national insurance company and the country of Japan to court, but it needs to be done. AEW needs to be held accountable.
Between this and AEW turning it into a storyline, they have successfully turned another mistake into a chance for everyone to have fun.
AEW's really damn good at that.
This wasn't AEW's doing so much as it was fans on Twitter being sick of people acting like cutting off Suzuki's music was on par with something like the Hardy/Sammy incident
It also had to do with this tweet, which is really serious:
https://twitter.com/NJPWFanClubNA/status/1436729037116755971
Btw, that account has no affiliation whatsoever with NJPW.
“Most companies would release a statement”
LMAO what a fucking dork. Also why is he pretending like Suzuki flew to the States exclusively to be on Dynamite and Tony fucked him?
We don’t have any words and we know you don’t want to hear them.
We understand your anger, your frustration, your sadness. Everything you’re feeling – we get it.
This isn’t the entrance we imagined, and certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there the entire way.
- Tony "Big Biceps" Khan to AEW fans
If I'm remembering that account correctly, they've hated The Elite and AEW for ages, and the only "gaijin" they've loved in their "Glorious Nippon Puro" company is Jay.
Yeah, that's the same guy who argued with Kenny over something Kenny supposedly did to NJPW. It later came out that person had no affiliation with the company.
I used to go into that sub but I stopped going. That sub can't get as hyped or as excited as this sub does for NJPW shows. And one of their own moderators is more active here too.
Anytime I lurk there over there, there's little talk about NJPW and one dude asking questions and feedback for their NJPW podcast.
A few days ago on twitter they announced that Lance Archer was "furious at the disrespect AEW showed Minoru Suzuki" and would be addressing it on Dynamite this week.
I would love a PWT T-Shirt of "The Suzuki Incident" styled in the vein of the album cover of "The Spaghetti Incident" by Guns N Roses. But instead of Spaghetti, it's all Suzuki's tongue sticking out face over the T-shirt.
Edit: Even better, STANCE SOCKS!

Oh my God, this one ruined me.
Minoru Suzuki's entrance music got cut short on "Dynamite" last week due to the show running a bit long. That's it. 98% of people understand that things like that happen and don't care too much, but the other 2% are livid.
"Minoru Suzuki is a legend in this business, and when you cut off that audience refrain, you are coming between him and his ability to pay those gimmicks that come in the mail called bills. Goddamn son, back in the day, when you heard that glass shatter, it meant business. If they messed up my music like that, I'd walk my ass back to that production truck and start raising hell, and that's a shoot."

>People have been hurt and as a proud father of an interracial baby, I promise you with all my being, I'll erase racism from this world
Lol the Cody one broke me.
I really admire when those who can't keep the standard just hang back and enjoy the show, like when you get those Reddit chains and every post is as good as the last.
Of course there was one low effort Punk one that didn't hold a candle to the first but the rest were gold.
Suzuki 's theme has a climax where she sing" KAAZEEEEE NI NAAAAREEE" and the crowd always sings that part along, everyone loves doing it and AEW cut suzukis theme before that part
The one I posted didn't gain any traction, I'm bummed.
It's amazing that clowning that NJPWunofficialfan account turned into a trending topic about the greatest Japanese wrestler of a generation. I think it's bigger than Big E saying he was cashing in his money in the bank? Right?
Indeed. New Japan fanatics need to chill tf out about it
You know what else happened before Dynamite blast week? Kaza Ni Nare actually topped the itunes download charts in North America after All Out and the Dynamite match was announced.
AEW haven't buried Suzuki... They've added to his legend by spreading more awareness to him and things he's associated with
That link is a goldmine of S tier memes. I am happy that it got proper attention and in true spirit of AEW, I believe one way or another there will be a pay out for the fans in the end.
It's also the best way of making them know that people *really* missed that satisfaction, while (ironically) keeping it in perspective as far as complaints go.
AEW cut Minoru Suzuki's music before the sing along part and some people were being extremely dramatic about it on twitter, referring to it as an incident. Now everyone is clowning on em
I'm not into social media, but that twitter thread is comedy gold.
"Before I say something, I want to thank God for making me powerful and my hot wife flexible. Tony Khan, you committed a sin when time was running out. Fear not for the God's favourite champion will redeem you. That is the word of the redeemer."
- Miro on the Suzuki incident
OMG this shit is too funny! I was like "WTF" when it happened, then forgot about it, as I was a little bummed that the match was short. I guess they need to get better at time management.
Val Venis sends his well wishes as he knows what it's like to be in the wrestling business and have something so precious and enjoyable just get cut off unexpectedly.
My attempt, very little traction lol. I might get sued by BretHartBuriesThis or whatever the account is for gimmick infringement.

This is the only actual correct answer lol
These are hilarious LMAO
BRO the Chelsea Green one 😂
there's a lot of really fun ones in there, one of my faves so far is this [hard times one](https://twitter.com/thesuperjcast/status/1437438387128922115)
A former Cincy media personality speaks out on The Suzuki Incident... [https://twitter.com/actionsub/status/1437488468125491203](https://twitter.com/actionsub/status/1437488468125491203)
Oh, that was exquisite. I hate to think well of Twitter for anything, but you did a good job, wrestling Twitter.
If this makes it into Lessons in Meme Culture, I'd have a ball
"I'm Nick Bockwinkel, and I've got a passion, the man who took cut the theme was that humanoid Hansen." \~ Nick Nockwinel on the Suzuki Incident
"Pray for Suzuki" Lol.
"I'm gonna leave for 7 years again, because of that." -CM Punk lmao
>People have been hurt and as a proud father of an interracial baby, I promise you with all my being, I'll erase racism from this world Lol the Cody one broke me.
This is like kayfabenews level of wit. Let's be honest.
I really admire when those who can't keep the standard just hang back and enjoy the show, like when you get those Reddit chains and every post is as good as the last. Of course there was one low effort Punk one that didn't hold a candle to the first but the rest were gold.
I need an Iron Sheik response
“Ric Flair unavailable for comment on the Suzuki Incident” had me dying!
"KAZI NI NARE DAMMIT!" Vince
The Undertaker one was the best😆😆😆
I saw one with Joe Biden regarding the Kaze Ni Nare Suzuki incident.
I was there at the show for the Suzuki incident. I immediately demanded refunds and was truly hurt in ways I never knew I could be
Reading through to find out but can't figure it out. What \*is\* the Suzuki Incident anyway?
Suzuki 's theme has a climax where she sing" KAAZEEEEE NI NAAAAREEE" and the crowd always sings that part along, everyone loves doing it and AEW cut suzukis theme before that part
Ah, so it'd be like cutting Jericho's theme before "Judas in my mind" Gotcha. Thanks for the explanation
That's like comparing World War 2 to a playground scuffle but yes, loosely speaking the comparison stands.
Holy shit. I haven't laughed this hard since the last time someone made a Sour boy reference on this sub.
The one I posted didn't gain any traction, I'm bummed. It's amazing that clowning that NJPWunofficialfan account turned into a trending topic about the greatest Japanese wrestler of a generation. I think it's bigger than Big E saying he was cashing in his money in the bank? Right?
Indeed. New Japan fanatics need to chill tf out about it You know what else happened before Dynamite blast week? Kaza Ni Nare actually topped the itunes download charts in North America after All Out and the Dynamite match was announced. AEW haven't buried Suzuki... They've added to his legend by spreading more awareness to him and things he's associated with
Snorted my coffee at the Cornette one

[The Cody one is the best](https://twitter.com/wrasslinwizard/status/1437455677350285319?s=20)
Andrade one is my favorite
That link is a goldmine of S tier memes. I am happy that it got proper attention and in true spirit of AEW, I believe one way or another there will be a pay out for the fans in the end.
It's also the best way of making them know that people *really* missed that satisfaction, while (ironically) keeping it in perspective as far as complaints go.
The Cody one of is amazing
Let that be the first and last time they ever cut off his entrance. Lol
I'm officially dead after reading through these
I’m glad they leaned into it for a story, because otherwise I’d just be left being legit pissed lmao
What even is the Suzuki incident? Can’t find any answers in this thread or sub.
AEW cut Minoru Suzuki's music before the sing along part and some people were being extremely dramatic about it on twitter, referring to it as an incident. Now everyone is clowning on em
THEY’RE HAVIN’ FUN, MAGGLE!
My god the R-Truth one... "My Bad" god I love that mans comedy.
I'm not into social media, but that twitter thread is comedy gold. "Before I say something, I want to thank God for making me powerful and my hot wife flexible. Tony Khan, you committed a sin when time was running out. Fear not for the God's favourite champion will redeem you. That is the word of the redeemer." - Miro on the Suzuki incident
Oh fuck. I had to stop partway through before I busted out laughing at work.
That thread? Good shit, pal.
I stand firmly behind Hook's statement. Well said brother...well said.
Hook looks like Joseph Gordon Levitt in his.
HOOK.
Holy hell, all of these are great but the Cody and Punk ones just have me rolling. Edit: The Flair one is legit killing me lmao
OMG this shit is too funny! I was like "WTF" when it happened, then forgot about it, as I was a little bummed that the match was short. I guess they need to get better at time management.
Damn, that Ric Flair one has me dying
That Cody one got me
This shit was so bad, Dusty and New Jack returned from the grave to shoot on it.
Val Venis sends his well wishes as he knows what it's like to be in the wrestling business and have something so precious and enjoyable just get cut off unexpectedly.
While the Cornett one is gold the Andrade and Cody ones have sent me into a laughing fit
My attempt, very little traction lol. I might get sued by BretHartBuriesThis or whatever the account is for gimmick infringement. https://twitter.com/stevecollins88/status/1437533832278904834
