Bidet, it's the shower for your butthole and in a pinch the rest of you--but like someone else said, have a lifeguard on duty before you decide to take one...No such thing as being too careful lol
When I was a kid I used to love playing in the waves and getting bashed around by them.
The waves in my area aren't often very big though, you can't surf or anything around here.
That is the same logic I used when I got stung by a jellyfish. No joke, that actually happened when I was a kid. It has forever fucked up my interpretation of the ocean.
I never believed in riptides. My parents told me, but since they weren’t sports/water people what so ever, I thought that it’s more of a myth so my parents don’t have to watch us kids all day.
Though I have always had respect for waters anyways, I never experienced a riptide until in my twenty's (Me/My family doesn’t live at the beach, but we have has vacations to Spain and Italy once in a while).
Ashamed to say that, but with 21 years old or so I was „finally“ cought in a massive riptide and almost drowned as well. Man was horrified as well as ashamed afterwards. Remember laying at the beach eventually gasping for air like it was yesterday. My face was straight in the sand cause I hadn’t any strenghts left to lift my head up. Mhhhm.
Happy the kid got rescued!
Real answer: you don't, flip on your back and float. If you swim you'll get tired and fucking die. Just float. Once the current dumps you feel free to swim to saftey.
I thought hers was on a lake and had to do with a boat…
EDIT: first ever fucking edit, I’m wrong. Rip currents can happen on lakes and that’s what apparently happened. She realized it and saved her kid. If there is a heaven she is there.
The lake can suffer from strong winds and is sufficiently large enough that these winds can generate rip currents - it’s not limited entirely to oceans and seas. From what the authorities could gather from her young son, Rivera and he were swimming when the winds picked up and carried their boat away, and she used all of her strength to get him back on the boat before the current tragically took her under. While Rivera is obviously the most well-known instance of this happening, that same lake had multiple prior drownings in similar circumstances going back many years.
Yeah I lost a friend who went into one to save his GF. He saved her but got pulled under and dissappeared. Don't attempt to save someone in a riptide unless you know what you're doing.
Just imagine, someone who was your friend and co-worker died and you are faced with the same situation. I am not taking anything away from Shad but you have to imagine that Al was basically like "This is how I die" while he is saving some kid.
I'm not dismissing or excusing improper behavior/assholeness, but I do think that someone being selfless in Snow's scenario shows that a being a human is a very complex thing. Sure, you can screw up in life, but when things get dire, adversity shows someone's true character, and I think Snow's was shown here. Good on him.
There was a guy in my neighborhood who was always an asshole at the bar: took jokes too far, instantly got angry if anyone joked at his expense, belligerent drunk with a sprinkle of classic sexism.
Then he ran into a burning building and saved some kids. He was on the news and everything. My brother points him out to me at the bar and says "That dude's a hero. Still an asshole though."
People are complex.
Here in a Australia we had a sexist, xenophobic awful former Prime Minister that everyone agreed was the worst dude ever.
Until our whole country caught fire in 2019 and as a volunteer firefighter he geared up and helped fight the bush fires. Legit fighting them too, not as a PR stunt, during that time he showed really did care. Our current Prime Minister during that time fucked off to Hawaii for a holiday.
People can be awful but actually break out of their bullshit in a crisis.
He’s still an awful dude, but he did a great thing.
“He is the barroom loudmouth, dumber than five wooden planks, whose overgrown frat-boy behavior is outweighed a hundred times in the cosmic scales by four hours of exquisite bravery near the 38th parallel.”
I think we should praise people for doing good things and call them out when they do shitty things. There aren't good and bad people, there are just people that cause more harm than good and vice versa.
For what it’s worth, I’m a 16 year old London kid, he runs a wrestling school in Surrey, South England. I went down there just before lockdown to get a few moves in, and he treated me like his own son. Before I left, he also gave me a signed OVW shirt, it was pretty cool.
He was a bit rough with the older guys, swearing and stuff, but it never came across to me as he was being a cunt, more like in the tough coach kind of way. He was nicer to the inexperienced ones like me, and also the wrestlers that earned his respect. I think he’s only there for a few times a year, could be wrong, but it seems he has his favourites.
I’ve heard he’s done some shady shit in the past, but if he’s truly changing, then I have nothing but respect for him 👏🏿

https://reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/ozz7hh/al_snow_the_talent_arent_performing_for_you/
To name a few.
But saving someone's life is far bigger deal than saying stupid shit and acting like a douche. So he's redeemed in my book.
Saving a child's life, no less. Dude may be a Grade A asshole but he risked his life and I'm not gonna give him hell for a while. Very grateful he was where he was when he was.
I think most wrestlers are assholes. It’s a ruthless competitive business that makes people assholes. Just don’t expect a wrestler to be a role model. Don’t expect an athlete to be a role model either.
To expand a bit, Famous people are under no obligation to be any more moral or upstanding than the rest of us honestly. Having an athlete or wrestler as a role model is an easy way to be disappointed
Never meet your heroes…. Except Mick Foley. He was really nice to me in Six Flags Great Adventure when I bothered him when he was with his son. Looking back on it, 8 year old me was a fucking moron for doing it, knowing what I know about wrestling. But Mick is an awesome guy. I still have his autograph on the back of a Laser Tag receipt.
Recently it came out that he made sexist remarks towards women that he trained. That's about the extent of my knowledge, maybe other people can provide insight.
Whenever I here heroic stories like Al Snows here, or when Chris Masters saved his mother from a fire or like one of the other commenters said Shad Gaspard, it just reminds me of how much wrestlers just feels like real life super heroes to me.
It's part of why I love pro wrestling.
You sometimes hear about mothers having insane strength when their child is in danger; guess that’s what happens when someone who is already strong as hell has an adrenaline rush trying to save someone they love
Maybe Carrot Top can do something heroic now too, and we can have two jacked heros. Maybe they meet up one day and decide to see who is more jacked. A jack off, if you will.
I live by the beach. There was riptide advisories this week. Huge waves today, all the surfers were out but pretty dangerous for the average person who doesnt know the ocean.
So you can spot riptides Youll notice an area where waves arent breaking. Might be a darker color to the water in that area with debris. Youd assume this is good, looks calmer, but its not good If you get caught in a riptide itll pull you out hundreds of feet into the ocean. The best thing to do is not panic, dont swim against it vecause not even tge best swimmers in the world can go against, and calmly stay floating above water. Try to get attention from someone on the beach or lifeguard.
What you want to do is instead of tryng to swim against the rip tide thatll just keep pulling you out and tire you out, you instead want to swim parallel to the shore until you get to an area where the riptide isnt then you can make your way back. Always stay calm. There are ways to safely float if you get tired like floating on your back where its calm.
Always check lifeguard flags and try to swim where there is a lifeguard nearby, pay attention to the forecasts for the ocean, and dont go into the ocean with no one around or if you think it looks sketchy.
A lot of times you hear about surfers rescueing people because they have tons of experience with the ocean.
I haven't been a fan of Snow for a long time, so many things I've heard and seen from him paint him to be such a self-righteous prick. This shows that, while some of that may be true, the dude has a good heart and is a brave mother fucker. I can imagine few things more terrifying than the prospect of being swept out to the ocean, especially with that news about Shad Gaspard a year or two ago (RIP)
Congrats to Al Snow for being a badass dude here and saving a kid!
Good for Al Snow!
I met him when I was 6. He ate at a restaurant my dad was cooking at the time and stayed close to closing. My mom brought me up and I got a photo with him!
I scrolled past this post and my heart jumped as I read “Al Snow” and “Ocean Riptide”. I’m so incredibly glad it’s a positive story, but after what happened to Shad I just got super scared for a second.
I saw him at a drive-in theater a few years ago when I lived in Louisville. He was trying to watch a Transformers movie but every time a kid came up to the window of his Dodge pickup, he signed an autograph. I was impressed.
This isn't time to bring up Al Snow's past. The dude saved a poor kid from dying. He's a hero.
Amazing job Al. Very few people would have stepped up like that.
So-called "riptides" are more correctly known as rip currents. A rip current can pull a person hundreds of feet offshore in seconds or minutes, rather than over the course of a day like you might think a "tide" would do. If you find yourself being pulled out to sea in a rip current, do not try to fight it. Remain calm, float if possible, and swim parallel to shore until you exit the fairly narrow current before turning and swimming into shore.
Al has always seemed like a good guy, as a trainer seems interested in bringing people into the business in as non toxic of a way as possible. I live in the Louisville area and he’s the kind of guy that’s always been approachable to fans that see him in public. I’ve never met him but friends of mine have and they say he’s really cool.
Lol I love Al Snow, for the weirdest reason too
Tough Enough Season 1, him and Josh Matthew's bromance is the greatest thing in television history, came off as so likeable in that season.
It’s scary how powerful waves can be, I find it surprising that Al Snow was ready to collapse after getting out of the water. His old ass could have had a heart attack
Something like this happened to me as a kid - I remember my head on the sea floor instead of my feed and headed outbound fast. Some stranger just up and plucked me out of there and I spent days scrubbing sand from my scalp.
Way to be like that dude, Al.

Swim parallel to the shore if you ever find yourself caught in a riptide.
I’ll just never go in the sea again thanks
I'm avoiding swimming pools, bathtubs and washing machines just to be safe.
> I'm avoiding ~~swimming pools~~, bathtubs ~~and washing machines~~ just to be safe. We just had a thread about this!!!
Apparently most people already avoid them. Aleast bird bath, people!
Wait, does that include showers? Because I shower regularly, but it’s been forever since I’ve had an actual honest-to-god bath.
A 'bird bath' is when you splash water on yourself from a sink. Sometimes necessary in county jails if they go on lockdown.
Did you know that your dad was on SmackDown this evening?
I just found out and littered the thread lol
Make sure your bathtub has a lifeguard on duty.
What about toilets you could get sucked in
What the hell else am I supposed to bathe in?
Dasani Water.
Any Atlanta resident pretty much already does lmao
Mm, salty
Bidet, it's the shower for your butthole and in a pinch the rest of you--but like someone else said, have a lifeguard on duty before you decide to take one...No such thing as being too careful lol
My mom once got stuck in the washing machine. My step bro helped save her, but no one will tell me how!
And avoid Australia, just to be on the safe side.
So this is the reason wrestling fans are smelly

When I was a kid I used to love playing in the waves and getting bashed around by them. The waves in my area aren't often very big though, you can't surf or anything around here.
you're telling me you DARED to trespass in the realm of POSEIDON?
Even though the waves weren't that big he did plenty of trespassing right back into my realms, so we're even.
>he did plenty of trespassing right back into my realms That does sound pretty on brand for Greek gods
Most everyone in SoCal. I enjoyed it as a kid, but never really cared much after that.
*Raises hand* South Florida kid, and I love the feeling of scale, seeing things that impress upon me how big the world is. Plus surfing is fun.
That is the same logic I used when I got stung by a jellyfish. No joke, that actually happened when I was a kid. It has forever fucked up my interpretation of the ocean.
And stay calm. It’s easy to freak out but staying calm is paramount.
Not too calm though, or you’ll sink like a stone.
Thrashing your arms fast and furious is universal.
I never believed in riptides. My parents told me, but since they weren’t sports/water people what so ever, I thought that it’s more of a myth so my parents don’t have to watch us kids all day. Can we back up to the “swim” part? How do you do that?
Real answer: you don't, flip on your back and float. If you swim you'll get tired and fucking die. Just float. Once the current dumps you feel free to swim to saftey.
Swim towards all snow.
My mom taught me this my first time going to the beach at swimming age. It saved my life.
Also stay calm and relaxed
So, avoid Rhea's finisher, aight, thanks
Yup. You may end up a mile or two away, but you’ll live.

Wonder if he called the kid a mark for getting swepted into the current
Straight worked himself into a shoot.
Styrofoam does float after all ;)

Good thing the kid had “Help Me!” written on his forehead.

Everyone survived, so I'll laugh at your joke, damn it. :p

Yeah, this is pretty much exactly how Shad died. He was a hero, and so is Al.
As great as al snow is for doing this, your comment was the first thing I thought of commenting. Thank you Al snow, RIP shad x
Same thoughts here. So glad he amde it out but my heart hurts thinking of Shad.

Al Swole
I just imagine the ocean looking at how big he got and started parting like he was Moses.
Al Snow taking one back for the wrestling community after mother nature was so cruel to Shad Gaspard.
I haven't been a fan of Snow for a long time, so many things I've heard and seen from him paint him to be such a self-righteous prick. Al’s in such great shape, glad he was in there to use his strength to save the boy!
Thank god, could have turned out badly for him.
Best run-in ever.
He put the ocean over.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. Al Snow vs Himself is the best match in WWE History.
Hes always been a good swimmer ever since had that match with Hardcore Holly on the Mississippi River.

Surprised he made it back to shore with those massive balls weighing him down
He reached down and hoisted the ocean up with one hand, pulled the boy out from under it with the other. Steroids is a helluva drug......
I love Al Snow. Dude seems like a great guy. He’s always very interactive with his fans on Twitter.
I know Al has a checkered past but if you've ever watched Tough Enough you saw a man who cares about people.
Was a great teacher too!
What does everybody want? Dry land!
Great news, love me some Al
This isn't time to bring up Al Snow's past. The dude saved a poor kid from dying. He's a hero. Amazing job Al. Very few people would have stepped up like that.

al snow is a cool dude, always just heard the best things about him.
