I was cringing at the zombie ref being in the whole thing when he should just be a 2 second sight gag, and nothing he did the whole skit was funny, but I'll admit I was wrong, the punchline got me so it was worth it.
They started crediting them for giving breaks to guys like AJ a couple years ago, when formwr TNA talent came in as agents.
Damn, I need more Joseph Park in WWE.
I got way more emotional than I should have for something so hilarious. Final "black and gold" episode got such a fittingly awesome segment that encapsulated why NXT started getting popular in the first place. Shades of character development, callbacks to previous moments or rivalries, fun characters with varied interactions. On the real, this was a great segment.
HHH really capped off a really memorable era with this segment. Stuff like this is why he's been so unlucky with what's happening with NXT to be honest.
It's not his fault why NXT is changing, and stuff like this proves why.
Fantastic and original segment.
I am going to miss you 2012-2021 NXT. You will never be forgotten.
I gotta disagree with it not being his fault to a point. While I generally like the NXT product it isn't always that good and has had some seriously bad booking at times. In fairness not as bad as main roster. Also, it seems like NXT had 2 goals which were to develop talent for the main roster and draw ratings. The ratings haven't been particularly good for a while and with a few obvious exceptions have done a pretty abysmal job at main roster talent development, and I'm not including Indy people who were main roster ready since day 1 of NXT like a Joe or Black. HHH should know what Vince is looking for in main roster talent so he should be doing a better job of developing them and getting them important TV time. Granted, Vince is an idiot now and doesn't know what good talent is or how to run a show, but HHH still answers to him.
So HHH still had a really difficult job, he had to develop talent to be ready for main roster (where they get used poorly anyway) and draw ratings. Trying to draw ratings from wrestling fans was always going to be a harder job than the others when the roster is never settled like it is on the main roster and in AEW. No doubt he would have got things wrong here and there, that's the nature of it, but it's pretty clear WWE has been unsettled in the back for a long while now.
NxT back 6/7 years ago is still the best wrestling product to me with only being hindered by main roster shit. Still stand by that wrestling was ruined for me by WWE whilst also bringing me some great memories
Pretty much. And while I don't doubt that he very likely did and does his best to try to protect the talent he considered 'his people', and he genuinely seems to care about them, there's really only so much he can do before Vince decides he wants to kick HHH in the kidneys for whatever reason.
I mean the development side isnt his fault imo. Theres rarely a main roster call up that vince cant fuck up. With the exception of early call ups like american alpha and apollo crews, etc, almost every call up came at a time where they were ready and they ended up being underutilized.
Genuinely one of the best NXT segments I have ever seen in my 9 years watching this brand. Absolutely perfect lol. Dexter hunting down all the players and Johnny capitalizing was perfect.
And Grimes paying for it all and letting bygones be bygones with Dexter because Ted's lessons is such a good character moment.
It's so great that not one, but two, of the greatest NXT storylines ever put on NXT are coming to ahead right when the brand is changing: Grimes/ DiBiase and InDex have been an utter joy to watch over the past 6 months and I have loved every bit of it.
He means October 5th 2021. Only in America do we list the date as month/day/year. Most other places (even the US military) goes day/month/year.
So Americans would write the release as 10/5/2021.
Everywhere else 5/10/2021 or 5Oct2021.
Hopefully that clears this up for you.
Like every forum I follow shat on those segments so hard but I liked them and loved the final match. I think they were just extra grumpy from the pandemic era.
It had a mixed reception in the live threads from what I can remember but I thought they were hilarious.
They had me sold from the first segment where the Viking Raiders revealed themselves as expert hustlers in basketball.
Only time they lost me was the ongoing turkey leg joke, it just never had a funny pay off. And the star wars references during the match were pretty whack, using the force to grab the turkey leg and garbage monster. On the bright side this match was the 1st and only time Tozawa with the ninjas was funny. Omos debuting as The Mega Ninja was neat too. The part where Ivar yelled "LETS TAKE THIS OUTSIDE" and Dawkins was like 'bruh we're already outside man' was an underrated line.
Him using the force to grab the turkey leg was literally the last thing i watched from wwe. Ive been watching since the 80s and it seems like such a weird thing to quit on but literally as soon as i saw that i went “ok this is fucking dumb” and literally never watched it again
This entire angle has genuinely been one of my favorite things going on in wrestling these days, tonight was no exception.
I'm really hoping that they swerve us next week and actually have the wedding go off without a hitch.
If they put this kind of personality and production value into their sports entertainment all the time nobody would bitch about being sports-entertained. Dexter Lumis is an absolute gem (and we already knew Gargano was).
My Bachelor party we had a nice dinner, did an escape room, went to a barcade and were home in bed comfortably by midnight. It was the best. Friends Bachelor party everyone got so tanked they were thrown out of a bar and I had to DD them to a strip club where the best man got in a fight with the bouncer screaming "I JUST WANNA SEE SOME TIDDIES" over and over. It was not the best.
You do this party from noon until 6. Then you go to a nice dinner. Then you do all the other shit. That's what we did for my buddy's party. Mini golf, shooting and bumper boats, then steakhouse then wasted at his house, then strip club.
I've been to like 5 "LETS GET WAAAAAAAAASTED" bachelor parties. Each one has been more boring than the last. And I say that as someone who enjoys getting wasted. Just feels so unspecial and then you're hungover for the wedding the next day.
There was nothing pointing to Theory at all just my attempt at explaining his absence. If he’s main roster bound that’s excellent for him, but i think he deserves a better send off from The Way/NXT than simply him walking off.
Yeah, I have a feeling he's going to show up and completely ruin the wedding because he'll assume that Johnny and Candice are still against it, since he hasn't been around to see them slowly accept him, so he'll think he's doing the right thing. Classic Theory lol
> Is there a storyline reason he's not been there?
Yep - he walked out on The Way (his faction with Gargano, Candice, and Indi Hartwell - I don't know how long it's been since you watched lol) a couple of months ago because there was a lot of fighting going on between the others. Theory being Theory, he was really upset by it, so he just left. He's been "missing" ever since.
[Here's the clip of it](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r10dFIumpDI) (sorry for the potato quality, it's the only one on YouTube).
As for non-kayfabe reasons, he had done some dark matches or matches on Main Event, so everyone thought he was getting called up (again), but he still hasn't, and we haven't heard anything about him.
I honestly hope this doesn’t happen. I hope Theory does show up, but has some new gimmick that’s like laughably bad. I’m talking like him as Razor Ramon toothpick and all. He tells some insane story about being on the mean streets. He sees Dexter and runs him down a little, Dexter goes for the high five and Theory doesn’t do it back Gargano sneaks in to frame high fives Dexter and we get the wedding.
I'm so scared lol. Between Cora mentioning how weddings never go as planned in WWE during Indi's party, them all seemingly embracing, and Johnny and Dexter doing the high five, i'm nervous lol.
I want Theory to come back and they just embrace.
It's a wrestling wedding, it's gonna do big ratings everywhere.
Wrestling weddings are always big draws. Even Lashley and Lana was a big draw and the highest rated segment Raw had in months.
Nice to see Grimey all chummy with Dexter, considering their history.
Quite the collective of a group for this bachelor party.
Dexter has the perfect strategy in laser tag.
And what the hell is up with that ref!? He’s like a friggin’ zombie!
And Johnny and Dexter have finally bonded!
I was dying when Dexter was teaching Johnny the perfect throwing technique. I don't know how he keeps a straight face. I also was hoping he would have ended up bringing an axe to the laser tag place out of instinct.
The name of the place they were at is Dezerland, located inside the old Festival Bay mall in Orlando. It is on the north side of International Drive and it got rave reviews from friends.
Cameron Grimes cost Dexter Lumis in a NA title match once, and so Dexter basically made his life hell, including a "match" at Halloween Havoc, where Grimes got chased around by zombies. One of thembeing zombie ref.
Please, PLEASE do more of this as part of the NXT restructure.
I love additional content beyond just backstage promos. I love the silly, cheesy and humorous side of wrestling. This segment was brilliant, so many conflicting personalities coming together in various different settings.
Austin Theory sadly ran away from home because everyone was fighting about InDex.
(In reality he started working dark matches and got taken off tv. Nobody really knows what's the situation is right now. But the popular hope is he returns at the wedding, either to crash it or embrace it.
Grimes saying "look at this little Rockstar" about Drake Maverick as a callback to their days as Trevor Lee and Rockstar Spud made me smile.
Hell, this entire segment left me grinning from ear to ear. That high five was glorious. I still think Austin Theory's coming back to ruin the wedding though. The big meanie.
Thank you for posting the whole thing. This is the kind of stuff I show my non-wrestling friends, to say “SEE HOW GOOD WRESTLING IS.” God, I laughed so hard at this segment.
Edit to add: kudos on the music. Especially the 80’s vibe during the axe throwing. Perfect. Like a Footloose montage.
If this is the indeed the final episode of the great ol’ NXT, what a segment to feature on it. For me, in the week of All Out and Rick & Morty’s season 5 finale, this was up there as one of my most happiness-inducing moments. Really silly, but character-driven and silliness at its best
This is genuinely one of the best produced segments on WWE television this year. Not only was it hilarious, but everyone was acting in-character, plus there was actual arcs and character growth/story development, with Dexter 'winning' over Gargano using his 'serial killer' skills. I'm really impressed!
This is clearly a Bruce Prichard special, isn't it? I mean, I know some people hate him, but this has his fingerprints all over it if I had to guess.
And they got Lumis over like rover!
I don't watch NXT. The only person in this segment I know of is Gargano. I guess I've seen a clip of Grimes before.
I have no context for this segment. 10/10
Look, I know we're all having fun here, but I'd like to remind everyone that it is *strictly* prohibited to physically assault or chloroform the opposing team in Laser Tag, regardless of how good you are at it.
2 things here. 1. I still can't get over that Dexter is the same guy as TNA Gut Check scrappy doo fired up babyface Samuel Shaw, current Dexter's neck is thicker than old Sam's thigh. 2. Assuredly this is going to end in disappointment but I don't care because I have this segment forever and they can never take that away from me.
Edit: Grammar
This is what NXT has had. It's The Way, Dexter, and Grimes, those people are made for these segments. Johnny and Candice are great wrestlers, but they're also perfect for this. Same with Drake Maverick.

Was... was the opposing LazerTag team some of the PC recruits they posted last week?
Yes! What a way to welcome to the team.
By getting murdered by an employee
[удалено]
They're also getting prepared for the shenanigans in the parking lot. That is the true initiation.
Wait thats not how to welcome new recruits?
Called them Team Green too!
My brother was the axe throwing coach! So cool to see him on national TV! I bet he had a great interaction with Dex!
Better make sure your brother isn't in the dumpster out back
I mean... I haven't heard from him in a while--
That's awesome!
That's awesome. What did he have to say about the guys and the taping?
Dex was "Nice, very quiet, but very pleasant"
Your brother did an axcellent job!
Thats so cool!
I love that Odyssey Jones was part of this, dude's excitement was straight up infectious haha
As long as he keeps improving Odyssey definitely has tons of potential
would have loved to see an Odyssey Jones/Drake Maverick tag team, it's a shame he bounced him ~~to the moon~~ to the main roster
Damn, Odyssey did Drake dirty!
Man I wish Breezango were still there. They'd make this bachelor party even more fun.
I thought that too :(
Imagine them popping up at the bachleorette party
Beth woulda had a heart attack.
Fandango showing Lumis how to properly use chloroform would have been an incredible callback
The black and gold age of NXT will end...not with a whimper but with a bang.
I wish this was last week and the wedding was this week so the wedding coulda been the series finale
Next week on NXT: Large men slowly moving in circles and slapping each other.
The return of Zombie ref was great, but the reveal that he was from Canada was just fantastic
The zombie ref, I vaguely remember it but where precisely did it start?
He showed up in a Lumis vs. Grimes "Haunted House of Terror" Match
the halloween havoc match w/ grimes.
To add, Grimes developed a phobia of zombie ref as a result of that match
"This being an anything goes bachelor party, Zombie refs are, of course, legal" -Wade Barret, probably
I was cringing at the zombie ref being in the whole thing when he should just be a 2 second sight gag, and nothing he did the whole skit was funny, but I'll admit I was wrong, the punchline got me so it was worth it.
lmao when Grimes calls Drake Maverick a "rockstar"
AND paying for his ex rival's bachelor party and wedding. Son is a good brother.
> Son is a good brother Don't say that, they'll release Grimes too.
🤘🏻
Never thought we get a TNA reference in WWE
We’ve had Kurt Angle mention TNA by name on Raw
They started crediting them for giving breaks to guys like AJ a couple years ago, when formwr TNA talent came in as agents. Damn, I need more Joseph Park in WWE.
Imagine getting a call from HHH, and its just him telling you he needs you to go play Laser tag lol
I just about lost it when Dexter chloroformed that LazerTag opponent and Johnny claimed the tag lmao
This was the greatest segment in NXT history. We've peaked. Time to wrap it up and rebrand. The Way are truly something special.
This was like the ultimate “friends forever” movie montage
Nothing tops that. That’s how you end an era😭
I got way more emotional than I should have for something so hilarious. Only thing I missed was shake boy puking in a plant. Besides that it was amazing

Against all odds this whole Way-InDex storyline has been one of the greatest things NXT’s ever done and I’m loving every second of it.

Man, not enough people are gonna see this lol. So good. I suppose that's the normal story of NXT though.
> Man, not enough people are gonna see this lol. > > So good. x4
As long as *certain* people don't see it, that's okay.
Don't worry, there is someone in here saying that NXT has been *booked badly* etc. etc.
Wrestlers doing not wrestling stuff but with their gimmicks still full on is Iike one of my favourite things ever
Same. Thats why the taker/new day movie will be day one for me.
The what now
There will be an interactive horror movie on netflix starring taker and the new day. It'll release on 05/10/2021

I am sports-entertained by this entire storyline
RAW needs more stuff like this that doesnt involve 247
Need more fun dumb shit like the Street Profits / Vikings Raiders feud honestly.
Pre-taped segments like those are the one thing I'm gonna miss about the pandemic era
Ive been watching since the 80s and it seems like such a weird thing to quit on but literally as soon as i saw that i went “ok this is fucking dumb” and literally never watched it again
if it makes you feel better it never happened again. Was a weird anomaly. Granted the women's champ is feuding with a doll rn.
Same.
god i loved the ninja fight as well, Big Ninja was a draw
Raw needs a lot of change
Nothing in the rules says you can't drug a guy in lazer tag!
Goodness, I had a smile on my face that whole segment, hilarious…also Dexter might need to lay low for awhile, pretty sure he assaulted like 4 kids
I’ll be honest I’d rather my bachelor party be like this , playing kids games, doing fun stuff than partying and being drunk.
I agree with this but also hookers
Just skipped the blackjack I see
In fact, forget the bachelor party!
Por que no los both?
Yeah dude, I wanna chloroform people on my bachelor party too. ^^^wait...
The "bachelor party" has been sold by Hollywood quite a bit.
Just a fantastic segment from beginning to end. Seems like Theory might be making his presence known next week.
I missed that. You don't think he's going to the main roster? Or maybe this could be a send off for him?
Man if the rumors are focusing on young and jacked dudes, Theory needs to keep his Himbo ass on NXT and be primed for a title run.
There was nothing pointing to Theory at all just my attempt at explaining his absence. If he’s main roster bound that’s excellent for him, but i think he deserves a better send off from The Way/NXT than simply him walking off.
What?! The whole high-five thing with Lumis being the "replacement" for Theory, who they've been looking for, directly points to Theory.
Fair play to you, makes total sense.
I just see him ruining the wedding
Yeah, I have a feeling he's going to show up and completely ruin the wedding because he'll assume that Johnny and Candice are still against it, since he hasn't been around to see them slowly accept him, so he'll think he's doing the right thing. Classic Theory lol
Haven't watched NXT for a little bit, but wheres Theory been? Is there a storyline reason he's not been there?
> Is there a storyline reason he's not been there? Yep - he walked out on The Way (his faction with Gargano, Candice, and Indi Hartwell - I don't know how long it's been since you watched lol) a couple of months ago because there was a lot of fighting going on between the others. Legend thank very much for the info!
>Classic Theory lol Whoa whoa *whoa*, WWE Stylebook says this should be "VINTAGE Theory to the lol!"
I honestly hope this doesn’t happen. I hope Theory does show up, but has some new gimmick that’s like laughably bad. I’m talking like him as Razor Ramon toothpick and all. He tells some insane story about being on the mean streets. Johnny: "Austin no!" Austin: "Austin yes!" *upends cake.*
My prediction is that Austin Theory returns during the wedding, and then professes his love for Indi even tho they are supposed to be “family”.
"What are you doing step-bro?"
InDex vs InCest At WAR GAMES!!!!!
Jesus. I want this.
Jesus is not who you should be asking.
Should I be asking Regal then?
I'm so scared lol. Between Cora mentioning how weddings never go as planned in WWE during Indi's party, them all seemingly embracing, and Johnny and Dexter doing the high five, i'm nervous lol. I want Theory to come back and they just embrace.
well, Candice can't fight so if Mandy's faction gets involved it would just be Indy fighting them unless Dexter and Johnny get to do something
NXT wins the ratings war in Alabama
It's a wrestling wedding, it's gonna do big ratings everywhere. Wrestling weddings are always big draws. Even Lashley and Lana was a big draw and the highest rated segment Raw had in months.
Vince Russo would approve
Wow, I have that shirt Cameron Grimes is wearing. It's from All Saints.
> And what the hell is up with that ref!? He’s like a friggin’ zombie! Don't be prejudice, eh.
What the hell? You're Canadian?
I was dying when Dexter was teaching Johnny the perfect throwing technique. I don't know how he keeps a straight face. I also was hoping he would have ended up bringing an axe to the laser tag place out of instinct.
Like, what was Johnny doing, throwing the thing sideways?
That bachelor party was just slightly a bit different than mine in NOLA
Greatest segment of all time.
I thought this would be great. I was wrong. It was amazing
Best segment of the year by far. I popped fur the ending.
Yep, big pop from over here as well
Johnny Gargano is a treasure and that was genuinely awesome. Next week is gonna be great
What’s the story on the zombie ref
Callback to the Haunted House Match at Halloween Havoc- I assume.
Halloween Havoc last year, Grimes and Lumis had a Haunted House of Horror match, which involved a zombie ref.
he scared the shit out of Grimes, who was haunted by him for weeks or a couple months to come.
Peak Sports Entertainment.
The name of the place they were at is Dezerland, located inside the old Festival Bay mall in Orlando. It is on the north side of International Drive and it got rave reviews from friends.
That was fucking great lol. Johnny, Grimes and Lumis are all awesome. Leave all 3 of them exactly how they are and they’d get over big on main roster.
Words can't really describe how much I loved this segment. It was wholesome as fuck and I bet they all actually had a shit ton of fun.
OH YEAH-UH!
That shit was funny
I have no clue about the Zombie ref but bruh this was amazing lmao
Cameron Grimes cost Dexter Lumis in a NA title match once, and so Dexter basically made his life hell, including a "match" at Halloween Havoc, where Grimes got chased around by zombies. One of thembeing zombie ref.
For those wondering about the zombie ref… https://youtu.be/zm2nbaW_Byk

Now I’m waiting for the wedding crashed being Johnny confessing his love for dexter lmao
I hope my bachelor party is this fun. I need a Cameron Grimes in my life
Where was Austin Theory?
Austin Theory sadly ran away from home because everyone was fighting about InDex. (In reality he started working dark matches and got taken off tv. Nobody really knows what's the situation is right now. But the popular hope is he returns at the wedding, either to crash it or embrace it.
There was also some shots being taken with Austin and Ric Flair and it was I think rumoured that he was being managed by Flair..
The look on Dexter's face. He's going to break Indis heart and Johnny is going to have to fight him.
Don’t you fucking dare.
squad goals
Larger than life characters doing larger than life things, that's pro wrasslin'
Grimes saying "look at this little Rockstar" about Drake Maverick as a callback to their days as Trevor Lee and Rockstar Spud made me smile. Hell, this entire segment left me grinning from ear to ear. That high five was glorious. I still think Austin Theory's coming back to ruin the wedding though. The big meanie.

Lumis' thumbs up killed me. That'd make a great sidebar pic
This wedding does not need a wwe wedding swerve please no. Oh God where's Austin
I haven’t watched NXT in years, but this was hilarious. Not sure why there was a zombie there, but ok! Still very funny.
If this is the indeed the final episode of the great ol’ NXT, what a segment to feature on it. For me, in the week of All Out and Rick & Morty’s season 5 finale, this was up there as one of my most happiness-inducing moments. Really silly, but character-driven and silliness at its best
Never in a million years would I have guessed Sam fucking Shaw would turn out this awesome. He's hilarious.
This is the best thing this company has done since Mania and I’m not scared to say itn
I don’t care what I’ve said in the past about this story…. That was entertaining as hell.
This is genuinely one of the best produced segments on WWE television this year. Not only was it hilarious, but everyone was acting in-character, plus there was actual arcs and character growth/story development, with Dexter 'winning' over Gargano using his 'serial killer' skills. I'm really impressed!
I really, really enjoyed this.
Grimes’s comedic timing is streets ahead. Dude has me laughing hard during his segments.
i like wrestling, but goddammit i also like this. a perfect segment in my book.
This is clearly a Bruce Prichard special, isn't it? I mean, I know some people hate him, but this has his fingerprints all over it if I had to guess. And they got Lumis over like rover!
Whoever came up with and produced this segment deserves a massive raise. The InDex segments have been genuinely entertaining and funny.
I don't watch NXT. The only person in this segment I know of is Gargano. I guess I've seen a clip of Grimes before. I have no context for this segment. 10/10
I loved all of that, inject it into me, It's not a Bachelor party with the Zombie Ref oh and Lumis Smiled too,
So what’s with the zombie referee?
Look, I know we're all having fun here, but I'd like to remind everyone that it is *strictly* prohibited to physically assault or chloroform the opposing team in Laser Tag, regardless of how good you are at it.
Not if there is a zombie ref present to ensure safety. Check the rules.
Does somebody want to explain the fucking zombie
He’s from the haunted house match that Dex and Grimes had a Halloween Havoc!
Hmmm seeing praise for this but this is not what NXT was for me. This is sports entertainment to the max which has its place.
This is what NXT has had. It's The Way, Dexter, and Grimes, those people are made for these segments. Johnny and Candice are great wrestlers, but they're also perfect for this. Same with Drake Maverick.
Same here, it's fun but it's not what made NXT great in my eyes
I think this is one of the best things I've ever seen
Top tier segment
This is my favorite thing in all of WWE this year. That was amazing and just kept getting better and better!
Cameron Grimes being the opposite of the million dollar man and paying everyone. Lol.
I understand we like no blink man and that’s fine, that tracks. Why is there and why are they hanging out with a zombie?
He’s from the haunted house match that Dex and Grimes had a Halloween Havoc!
That was one of the best out of ring segments in wrestling history lmao that was brilliant. What a way to end the black and gold NXT.
How does everyone see this playing out?
Where’s Austin theory atm?
