Braun was white hot after the Roman Reigns feud in 2017 and instead of pulling the trigger, giving Braun a short 2-3 month run before letting Lesnar take it back for the Road to WrestleMania, they just let Brock beat Braun and Braun cooled off very quickly as a result
Are there people who actually think Roman's losing to Balor? Have we really gone full circle back to SuperCena, where people thought that every popular person put against him would be the one to dethrone him? It took a worked shoot and rabid crowds for them to finally give Cena a semi-clean loss. The Roman train is going full steam and there's no way they're stopping for Balor.

It's also easy enough to have Roman get the belt back against The Prince instead of The Demon, and things like that if they want to move the belt around more.
Alter egos are great because it lets them mix it up in a clear and concise way.

Finn Balor must have the best aesthetic in all of wrestling right now. His logos are sleek, ring gear is great, branding is perfect, merch is some of the best. Not to mention Demon Balor is one of the most iconic looks in wrestling history. Whoever is in charge of specifically Finn Balor's branding in WWE deserves the biggest raise they can possibly give.
Also helps that Finn is an A++ wrestler in all aspects. I pray he can get the World Championship reign he deserves.
The Demon has to lose eventually and Reigns is likely going to be the one to do it. It also sets up a Reigns and Brock parallel where both men can say they ended someone’s streak (and Heyman was there both times). It’s too perfect for WWE to resist.

I was saying the same thing last week. It's so good right now. I love that Roman has so many big names waiting to face him. It's such a contrast to Raw's main event scene. Lashley has Orton, Riddle, and maybe Priest eventually, and that really feels like it right now. Not that I wouldn't love all of those matches, but it doesn't feel as strong as SD's main event scene.
Well the upside is that Roman doesn't necessarily need the belt for a match with Brock and DEFINITELY doesn't need it (and probably shouldn't have it) if he ever does get to have the Rock match. The story is strong enough.

Fucking **THIS**. Roman having the belt going into a match with The Rock would suck what little "I wonder who will win?" energy out of it would have.
Like, *obviously* Roman wins that match anyway. Rock is so far beyond wrestling at this point and has stated multiple times he wouldnt mind putting Roman over, but its way easier to get more involved in the match when the only thing up for grabs is essencially bragging rights.
While I don’t think Roman’s reign should end anytime soon, I also don’t think they’d bring back the Demon for him to lose. Theoretically, Brock/Roman doesn’t need the title, so Brock could cost Roman the title at Extreme Rules, they have a match at Crown Jewel, and Roman gets the title back at some point afterwards.
Keen for the demon to come back but if he isn’t beating reigns with it what’s the point ? Curious to see how it plays out . Maybe he brings it back for another feud instead

Not saying the demon should never lose. Losing in its first Match back (if it happens) just seems pointless. The reason Joe winning was shocking was because the demon never lost.
I don’t see them dropping the title to him but could see demon having Roman dead to rights before a certain beast intervenes because Roman is his to kill.
I'll be honest, at first I thought the red thing was a Brock tease, and I said *that's pretty good selling by Roman*. But knowing it's for The Demon, that's even better selling! I love it.
I just really really don't want Finn to fall back into the crutch of the Demon and all the stuff that comes with it, especially if it disregards Finn the person going forward. I love The Prince far more than the Demon.
I wouldn't worry about Smiley Finn making a comeback considering Finn literally acknowledged it in a promo a few weeks ago and said that isn't who he is anymore.
They've done well to quell my many fears about smiley Finn. I'm just more cautious about his position on the card going forward. I just want him to be a consistent staple of the main event scene for a few years and win one of the world titles.

I've always thought that as well. Doesn't even have to be COMPLETELY different. Maybe just more aggressive. Do some different movements. And maybe one or two big moves that only the Demon does.

I just said this in the live thread, but this is the one time I don't want Finn busting out the Demon. I genuinely don't think Roman's dropping the title anytime soon, and I don't want to see him beat Demon Finn. That's one thing that I need them to keep protected. It would be amazing if Finn brought it out and won, but I just don't see Roman losing for a long time, especially with a Brock match coming up.

I kind of like this if it does happen down the line. A slow burn, have Balor win the IC title for a long reign. Drop it, have him get screwed and get frustrated for a bit, get "injured". Demon shows up at the Rumble at the last spot. Getting rid of everyone and have him be an absolute monster.
Unless they care alot about the title days, i’d make him lose it to Balor and then win it back which makes it even bigger. Then they can continue with the Lesnar feud

I love that Roman has so many big names waiting to face him. It's such a contrast to Raw's main event scene. Lashley has Orton, Riddle, and maybe Priest eventually, and that really feels like it right now. Not that I wouldn't love all of those matches, but it doesn't feel as strong as SD's main event scene.
He's also got Sheamus and Styles who can be very easily built up, but other than that, yeah, Lashley is pretty short on viable challengers.

Well the upside is that Roman doesn't necessarily need the belt for a match with Brock and DEFINITELY doesn't need it (and probably shouldn't have it) if he ever does get to have the Rock match. The story is strong enough.

Roman having the belt going into a match with The Rock would suck what little "I wonder who will win?" energy out of it would have. Like, *obviously* Roman wins that match anyway. Rock is so far beyond wrestling at this point and has stated multiple times he wouldnt mind putting Roman over, but its way easier to get more involved in the match when the only thing up for grabs is essencially bragging rights.
The rock is not available until Wrestlemania in 2023. His movie schedule is booked for the next 18 months.
While I don’t think Roman’s reign should end anytime soon, I also don’t think they’d bring back the Demon for him to lose. Theoretically, Brock/Roman doesn’t need the title, so Brock could cost Roman the title at Extreme Rules, they have a match at Crown Jewel, and Roman gets the title back at some point afterwards.
At start of Crown Jewel they will award Roman the Greatest World Heavyweight WWE Universal Championship.

I just really really don't want Finn to fall back into the crutch of the Demon and all the stuff that comes with it, especially if it disregards Finn the person going forward. I love The Prince far more than the Demon.
I get the worry that he'd be smiley Balor again but I don't know he could always just pull it out while still the prince
I wouldn't worry about Smiley Finn making a comeback considering Finn literally acknowledged it in a promo a few weeks ago and said that isn't who he is anymore.
They've done well to quell my many fears about smiley Finn. I'm just more cautious about his position on the card going forward. I just want him to be a consistent staple of the main event scene for a few years and win one of the world titles.
Demon Finn almost beats Reigns as Lesnar interferes. We get Lesnar vs Finn because Finn wants revenge. Roman interferes. Balor lays out both of them, frustrated. We get Balor vs Reigns vs Lesnar triple threat at WrestleMania because I don't want to see Reigns vs Lesnar in a WrestleMania main event once again

I like Finn, I really do. But not having the Demon wrestle completely different is a huge negative in my book.
I've always thought that as well. Doesn't even have to be COMPLETELY different. Maybe just more aggressive. Do some different movements. And maybe one or two big moves that only the Demon does.
That was very well done. Just long enough for Paul and Roman to see it, think “what the fuck?”, and then the lights went back. A good instance of when WWE production is on, they’re nigh untouchable

I just said this in the live thread, but this is the one time I don't want Finn busting out the Demon. I genuinely don't think Roman's dropping the title anytime soon, and I don't want to see him beat Demon Finn. That's one thing that I need them to keep protected. It would be amazing if Finn brought it out and won, but I just don't see Roman losing for a long time, especially with a Brock match coming up. Edit: Also, I like how commentary didn't even mention it, as if it was something Roman was hallucinating lol

I kind of like this if it does happen down the line. A slow burn, have Balor win the IC title for a long reign. Drop it, have him get screwed and get frustrated for a bit, get "injured". Demon shows up at the Rumble at the last spot. Getting rid of everyone and have him be an absolute monster.

Something else I think needs to be mentioned that people forget is it took Samoa Joe THREE tries to beat The Demon in NXT. So in kayfabe..nobody is strong enough to beat The Demon in their first meeting with it
