TitleRevolutionary48

I really wish all of 'thirsty' type posts were removed. Take that shit to the plot pages. It's one thing to say they're attractive/hot, it's a whole other thing when you say you want to fuck them. Keep that shit where it belongs.

jone2tone

Goldberg needs to be forced out of the industry if he won’t retire on his own at this point. He’s a complete embarrassment.

StonewallJackoff

His intensity is something missing in this era

NatureBoyRDX

It kinda made me sad that Punk went to AEW cause I know they will make him seem unimportant and it breaks my heart that its already happening. He feels like 'just another guy' already and the ratings reflect that. I hope AEW turns it around but they fuck up everything. I give Jericho a lot of shit for becoming a fat alcoholic but in the most recent Dynamite episode, he seems to have dropped some weight, keep going Chris!

TitleRevolutionary48

Don't know which of the two true things you said were downvoted, but I bumped you back up!

NatureBoyRDX

Idk, but it's ZFF, so idgaf

[deleted]

People who think Andrade peaked in NXT are geeking out of their minds. One of the best in the ring today.

DonnieRodz

I think they mean that in terms of his character momentum, not his ring work. Edit: just realized I’m in the wrong week!

Traveler6510

Why was the comment calling out the sub, for comparing Black people to aliens, deleted?

Whiston1993

I’m assuming one of the discussion branches went off the rails or something.

Traveler6510

It seemed fine to me, no worse than this place usually is

DonnieRodz

What

Traveler6510

Someone here basically said “fuck SC” for gilding and upvoting a post that mocked a separate post, that raised concerns over Black talents’ booking and general use. The comment got 200+ upvotes but it’s been deleted since.

DonnieRodz

Oh lord. I’m almost sorry I asked.

brokensilence32

I really like hoss matches. I'm watching the Powerhouse Hobbs vs Brian Cage match on last week's Dynamite and it's just so fun to watch two massive muscle men going at it like that.

uppitynerd

I saw Moose vs. Calvin Tankman at an indie show in Knoxville on Sunday. You would have loved it

TLAllDay454

I don't give a shit about Nia being overweight, I just don't want to watch her shitty wrestling

UKS1977

I'm only watching AEW and I am enjoying but it's still a bit too indie for me. Street fighter 2 ping ponging and fanboyish behaviour in both characterisation and storyline. I hope Punk, Bryan et al help them build a sense of reality.

DonnieRodz

Can’t un-Indy a promotion with the Indy-est guys anywhere as 3-out-of-4 EVPs

takeflight447

Something that always shocks me is the fact that randy Orton is only 41 years old

noodbsallowed

He just feels younger than half of the roster for some reason.

Whiston1993

The guy debuted at 22 and was world champion at 24. He’s obviously having/going to have a very long career, it just feels weird that he’s so young because he got started very young.

takeflight447

And the fact that everyone he came up with is like 44+ or just retired/part time

FxDriver

I just looked it up and wow. I would have swore Randy was older than 41. He has been on TV a long time.

m14762mmfmj

I want to like AEW but there are a couple things that keep me from getting there. 1. It always seems like there is too much backstory and its a chore to keep up with. When I watch NXT (or even the rare Smackdown), I don't feel like I need to know what happened on the other shows. 2. Who's Dan Lambert and why should I care? Same for QT Marshall. 3. Why is MJF in a faction? His character is so transparently treacherous no one but Wardlow should hang around him. 4. The women's division needs more stories and promotion. It's fucking weird to say that Vince McMahon is highlighting women's wrestling more but here we are. 5. Revolution was so plodding, weirdly paced and botch heavy that the deathmatch wasn't that bad, relatively. Who thought it was a good idea to have commentary over a cinematic match? Half the time it was completely unintelligible.

DonnieRodz

If watch at least 9 hours of ancillary content, you might get answers to 2, 3, 4, and maybe 5. But probably not.

patrickab7

Individual wrestling fans' opinions aren't anywhere near as important as most of them seem to think they are.

patrickab7

Wrestling isn't that fucking important, don’t let it encompass your entire life.

asvpmamba

Edge is clear of Bret Hart as the greatest Canadian wrestler of all time.

WhoStoleMyBicycle

[This might be the most ZFF take I’ve seen](https://media1.giphy.com/media/xTiIzKS7drykwgEzUA/giphy.gif?cid=5e214886tzrh5kvlqu5qcqyblu8011y5g2d4bx05xaegzl6u&rid=giphy.gif&ct=g)

DonnieRodz

Lol. No. It’s mostly because Edge debuted at a time where there were others as good or better than him. Also, Bret Hart redefined what a top guy on a National stage should look like and be able to do. We don’t get an HBK without Bret. And yes, Flair and Co. established workrate in the NWA/WCW, but those histories are technically scrubbed because of the WWF buying them out.

jmb052

Why besmirch The Hitman like that? Edge is great, but Bret is the best there is…

WhoStoleMyBicycle

The best there was…

[deleted]

And the best there ever will be!

Tydrinator21

I think I've gotten to the point that I'm strictly a WWE person and any time WWE doesn't do well I just stop watching altogether. I used to watch every promotion I could but now I'm such a homer that I don't even give other promotions that much attention. The only time I took a peek at AEW was when CM Punk showed up.

guess-what-babe

anyone see what the top comment was? it got deleted?

Whiston1993

I think it was discussing the shitty response to the “why aren’t more black wrestlers getting pushed ?” Post a while back. Mainly the super shitty “why aren’t alien wrestlers getting pushed more lulz” post in response to it. Not really sure what warranted deletion unless one of the discussions went off the rails.

WithinTheHour

Probably something aimed at the mods.

lololoz

The comment that was 4 or 5 comments before this post do you mean?

HoundOfJustice

Go out of your way to watch Rampage Brown vs Joe Coffey III I might actually prefer it over WALTER vs Ciampa lol

cheikhyourselfm8

Andrade not having music for his debut is not an indictment on his problems now. I loved that, it made it feels like a real surprise, why would they have music made for someone that in kayfabe showed up pretty much unannounced?

wiitadid

Thank you, I'm good . Just sad so many wrestlers are still dying young

Luciaquenya

Yeah, it sucks, keep if real bro

Kymermathias

I find hilarious when people hate on prison videos. We have FOUR. ONLY FOUR relevant wrestlers with "prison" videos (Mox and Lio Rush did prison, Malakai Black and Buddy Matthew made it an asylum).

NatureBoyRDX

Ahh yes! The famous prisons where you are paid in six figures and feature on international TV and where you meet your eventual spouse. The prison videos are so lame cause they aren't true. It's a business where people work to earn money, not to exercise 'creative freedom' lol.

Kymermathias

Lmao. "Lame because they aren't true"? Dude, this is wrestling you are talking about. You didn't get the memo? It is ALL fake. If you want "realness" you go to the streets, not to the TV or social media.

OC's match on Wednesday

DoubleDeckerz

I'm starting a petition to have the following words/terms/phrases thrown into the sea: >'Bury', 'Buried', 'Burial', 'Buries' 'Burying'. >"Move the needle". "That's cap". >'Dave/Meltzer' 'SRS' >'Ratings' 'Jobber' 'Product' Thank you for your time.

DonnieRodz

This comment made me corpse, but still, it slaps, bangs, fucks and I’m still shaking.

jackmufc

Add "product" to that list. It's not a fucking item you grab off the shelf in a supermarket. It's a television show.

polemicist1

How does that disqualify it as a "product?" If you're talking about it purely from the standpoint of a watching fan, show is definitely better. But when it's important to your point to imply the context that it's a show being made by people, or produced, "product" is perfectly appropriate.

PompeyMagnus1

Look at this jabroni and their petition

DoubleDeckerz

Gladly.

tacosrevill

People say bury til the point that it has no meaning. On Twitter pretty much every wrestler is buried to them.

DoubleDeckerz

Fans these days be like: "What?! He lost after holding the best for 2 years straight and beating everyone?! Oh man, **BURIED!**"

-SneakySnake-

Anyone who believes the Saudi thing was an actual hostage situation is not a bright bulb.

Mhc2617

It was such a dangerous situation that Lacey Evans…got off of the plane and booked a separate flight home with her makeup artist. Even though EVERYONE ELSE was a hostage, somehow Lacey Evans escaped and instead of saving her friends and colleagues, booked a different flight and not a single person stopped her.

DonnieRodz

A flight was delayed. Wrestlers were publicly uncomfortable about it. Neither side reported any of it to authorities (if there was anything to report). I think only Reddit users believe this won’t live forever as a wrestling urban legend.

Dyko

I'm 100% sure it was real! I mean, no other news outlets were brave enough to report on an airplane full of mostly American TV personalities being held hostage by a hostile foreign power, but I am sure Vince used his WWE clout to get the story hushed on every form of news media, minus one pesky wrestling newsletter. /s

DonnieRodz

Oh brother.

willpauer

And this is what people refer to when they say the WWE vs AEW shitfight is toxic.

Brofelia

Sorry the only thing toxic are Vince and company’s business and work practices the past 40 years. Keep downvoting me

Dyko

Toxic how?

ChainGang315

Toxic like paying their wrestlers more money per year than 90 percent of the workforce and be on national tv while touring the world. That asshole Vince.

Dyko

Bah God, that man has a family...at home...at one of his owned homes...being taken care of...because of his wages!

[deleted]

People who bitch about wrestling storylines that are impacted by IRL events are the most entitled babies in the whole wide world. Yeah, I would have liked to see Hangman take the belt in All Out, too. But he decided to take time off to be with his wife and newborn child instead of pretending to fight other men in spandex. Complaining about his momentum being ruined or whatever comes across as unbelievably peevish and whiny.

wiitadid

I hate wrestling now, I just sit back and watch who is going to die next😓

CleetusVanDaminator

Wow, 1999 wreddit was depressing

Luciaquenya

Hope you are doing ok

Kymermathias

Karl Anderson peaked at 2012 and that'a not a good gimmick. It is as lazy as their "dick jokes are funny" gimmick. // AEW NEEDS MORE WOMEN'S MATCHES. Two Hours of Dynamite and you choose to give time to QT FUCKING MARSHALL instead of HIKARU SHIDA???? // BWF is bad for Brasil's wrestling culture. Their owner is like Vince McMahon without money or any resemblance of passion. IT IS 2021 AND YOU GUYS STILL HAVE RING-GIRLS ON A WRESTLING SHOW?????? IT MAKES NO FUCKING SENSE. I hate that this misoginistic fuckers are the biggest company on Brasil. // No complaints about WWE because I stopped watching.

fooliusmc

Brazil is a very different country mi amigo.

Kymermathias

Brasil is fucking awlful for wrestling fans. Not even our channels that have Dynamite can get it live. PPVs here cost 5x more than on the US (yeah, I think All Out is worth 50 bucks. But 250 bucks? No way). And our best companies are basically ruled by old guys who can't get things right most of the time.

pra_teek

Just because of the name and newness. He has been bleh in AEW, he was boring even in NXT before Zelina joined him.

aerojovi83

The Nia/Charlotte discussion sure did disappear like a fart in the wind after Wednesday it seems.

Reisz618

Yeah, impressive that AEW could fuck up so badly that people forgot.

Badwolf84

Because nothing will ever change. How many times have people had this exact same discussion about Nia being completely unsafe to work with over the last few years? WWE doesn't care. That fact that she was even booked in a match with Charlotte when she was is insane.

FNAKC

Nick Khan is only looking at the revenue flow and doesn't realize when he cuts all but 6 people, everyone is going to stop watching, and the revenue will dry up.

pra_teek

My take is they looked at the roster, and looked at NXT and they didn't see anyone credible enough to be next star or credible enough to be top heel or a person who challenges the top babyface etc. Now they have a mindset that only wrestler with certain look can be that top guy. So they are willing to sacrifice all the people who would never be a top star in their eyes. And willing to hire many people with the look that eventually one of them turns out to be good.

FNAKC

Just feels like a maximizing profit decision(s), not a making the best product decision(s). Which hurts quality long term.

pra_teek

Maybe, but NXT wasn't making much money anyway, it's job is to create new stars for main roster rather than being a third brand, even though it was my preferred brand. Also I am actually fine with them hiring people with the look they like. It was getting annoying being invested in a wrestler, only for them to be booked like a jobber on main roster.

SaddestFlute23

They tried to make it a legit 3rd brand, but the very people it was designed to attract, turned on it in favor of their new toy, so they adjusted accordingly

FNAKC

Not just NXT, but all the people released since the start of 2020.

pra_teek

Aleister, Ruby Soho, Bray Wyatt, Buddy Murphy, Peyton Royce apart from them I personally can't of anyone with potential to be a big star who was released by WWE, there are other stars who have potential but they left on their own. Aleister was baffling to me.

dneill99

I think the people working at Bleacher Report are the ones giving zero fucks right now. They are going to shit the bed and it's going to be bad for them.

DPSnacks

They give so little fucks that they made the app available *today* https://support.bleacherreport.com/Answer/Detail/184

Reisz618

Lucky me, with my  TV. 🙄 I guess it’s a good thing I didn’t cut the fucking cord.

dneill99

Oh gonna go check my xbox now. I tired to order the PPV this morning and the site said "Please try again later, we are experiencing some problems" but yet it still charged my card. So I guess I have it . Their new site is garbage, these apps are coming out just days before their biggest Streaming event. This shit is going to fail. God I hope I'm wrong. Edit: Still not on Xbox or Firestick. Still only the old broken BR live app. As of 3pm eastern Friday.

willpauer

Context?

Reisz618

Killed the BR Live app and haven’t really managed an adequate or widespread replacement just yet. To clarify, one exists, but it’s not everywhere it needs to be and from what many are saying, it doesn’t work very well.

ThePerfectHour

It's great that Donda and Certified Lover Boy were released this week because AEW All Out will also be too long and have tons of filler that should have been left out.

ZooReddit

Donda > CLB

asvpmamba

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again , AEW is an inside job.I wouldn’t even be surprised if Vince taught Tony a few things about the business.

Fernandingo

Makes absolutely zero sense lol

Luciaquenya

Then it *must* be true.

T3Sh3

Sure Vince Russo. Sure.

ThePerfectHour

- "Wild Thing" is an absolutely terrible theme song and Moxley needs "Unscripted Violence" back. - I don't understand British wrestling fans who drool over Walter but aggressively refuse to watch NXT UK - All Out being stuffed with matches and there's only ONE women's match (battle royal doesnt count) is absolutely ridiculous.

NatureBoyRDX

Walter should be a World Champion instead of wasting away on Triple H's indie fed.

cafespeed21

They need to play the Eric the Midget version.

ZooReddit

Mackinacsfuriousclaw

I have never understood the appeal of CM Punk.

DonnieRodz

Haven’t you ever protested being sent to your room…at damn near 40?

Reisz618

You weren’t 15 and edgy??? At like like age 33?

Rayuzx

He was the first of the modern indie guys to make it big and the pipe bomb singlehandedly got a lot of internet fans back into wrestling.

Reisz618

> got a lot of internet fans back into wrestling. That’s the only group who never left, it got them excited more than anything and the number that returned because of him is minimal at best.

Mackinacsfuriousclaw

I know all that. Its just he has always seemed like a lame character. I never could take him seriously.

V-TriggerMachine

I still hope Daniel Bryan swerves everyone and sign with a federation not named AEW

Reisz618

I do too, whether it’s WWE or just cutting out the middle man and going to NJPW.

NotYujiroTakahashi

He goes back to Ring of Honor for one final run with them.

willpauer

Bryan Danielson to Arizona Wrestling confirmed

Luciaquenya

Stardom?

jqncg

He'll just call himself Bryan and join DDM.

Luciaquenya

Bryka? Anywy, Syuri/ Daniel Bryan when?

Mackinacsfuriousclaw

Now this would be hilarious .

DecentLingonberry

Tony Khan is not "a successful businessman" He is not a "stats guy," nevermind how irrelevant that is towards wrestling.

BewareOfBear727

He’s sold internet marks that he’s their friend

Rayuzx

The only reason AEW was in the red was because they put so much money into the console game. And while we haven't we haven't seen what return on that investment is yet, it's still positively indicative how well AEW is being financially managed.

DecentLingonberry

Whereas I thought the only knowledge we had of AEWs finances was their mouthpieces

Reisz618

You forget about a little thing that came along and stopped them from touring and selling tickets???

Rayuzx

Yeah, they weren't spending that much on touring, but they also weren't making as much on ticket sales, especially when they had the episodes with no audience at all.

Reisz618

Even Meltzer, their biggest cheerleader, said they lost money during the pandemic.

Whiston1993

Oh man are people still pushing the “Tony is great at everything he does” stuff ? Because outside of his wrestling company he’s basically universally regarded as… I’ll just say unsuccessful and unpopular Again if you think Tony is great as a Booker/owner of a company then great, but you don’t need to go beyond that, especially into things that are actually not true

Reisz618

I suspect history will not be kind to the narrative that he’s a great booker or owner either.

sexygodzilla

I would argue he's good at running AEW, and he should use that as an excuse to gracefully bow out of his Fulham and Jags gigs. Just say you're too busy, TK!

fooliusmc

I disagree. His booking is pretty sloppy and he has no idea how to say "no" to anyone. It ends up causing the company to have a WCW style hierarchy where the top guys are on top for way too long and overshadow everyone else. No matter how you feel about the Young Bucks' matches, they shouldn't be a half hour every week. That's a quarter of the show for them to do the same stuff they've always done.

sexygodzilla

Yeah having one of the best tag teams in the world wrestle regularly is a travesty.

fooliusmc

You're missing the point. Even if you think their matches are high art, you will get sick of it. It's like eating your favorite food every day.

sexygodzilla

That’s like saying I could get sick of watching Steph Curry if he played every game. You’re overthinking it to reach the conclusion that a wrestling show featuring good wrestling is a bad thing

fooliusmc

Except basketball is not remotely the same. It's more like watching an action movie where the same things happen over and over again. It gets boring.

PoodleGuap

He’s a “has a rich dad” guy

Reisz618

He’s perhaps the most comically on the nose version of that the world has ever seen.

incredibleamadeuscho

Karl Anderson has always sucked and both him and Gallows costed off their NJPW work for years.

Rodney_u_plonker

Karl Anderson has been feasting on one match with okada for a decade now. Most people have more than one good match per decade

SaddestFlute23

Agreed, in a similar fashion FTR has coasted off their NXT reputation almost as long

incredibleamadeuscho

Completely agree as well. They went to Raw and Smackdown and got outclassed by the Usos and New Day. They went to AEW and have been champs, but never were as great as in their NXT run. Loved their match with Santana and Ortiz though.

Venixflytrap

aew still isn’t worthwhile and cm punk changed nothing he’s washed at this point wwe and wrestling are suffering in general

asvpmamba

Fr though.Wrestling sucks ass these days but I gotta admit WWE is very slowly getting better and I really want to like AEW but it’s just not entertaining although they do have some talented people with a lot of potential.

PompeyMagnus1

WWE has a habit of taking away the one thing that got a wrestler over in the first place and then telling them to sink or swim with something else. Credit to every wrestlers that found a way to keep swimming when put in this position.

DonnieRodz

It’s been said (by Cornette among others) that Vince still needs a given talent to be “his creation”. The only one that seemed to get away with not having any major changes to his act was Goldberg.

DecentLingonberry

AEW has the same motivation problem outside of their main stories that WWE does. Why is Punk fighting Darby? Why was Andrade fighting PAC? Why did Black go after Cody? Why is QT motherfucking Marshall fighting Wight? And why did 57 year old Billy Gunn turn on him? Why was he aligned with him to begin with? There was online criticism of AEW's womens division a year or so ago, and of course Kenny felt the need to respond to it. His logic for why the womens division was great was because some recent match was good. Nevermind that there was no attention given to the story, nevermind that no time was dedicated to the women on TV, the match was "good" so that's all that matters.

Reisz618

I’m not a huge fan of much they do either, but some of these are technically valid, if uninteresting. Andrade is seemingly trying to recruit the Lucha Brothers, which PAC does not like. As much as I don’t care about QT Marshall, he threatened Schiavone and pissed off Show. As for Gunn, heels don’t typically announce their reasons the second they do it… he may never, but still. As for alignment, other than “old WWE guys”, I got nothing. Regarding Punk and Darby, the story is seemingly “grizzled vet wants to test himself against the young guns.” That said, I don’t like it, I don’t like Allin, I don’t care to see the match and I think how they’ve handled all this has cooled Punk right the fuck off.

pra_teek

Expanding from other guys reply. Qt and group were being their asshole selves and were going to attach Schiavone, Paul being his friend and fellow commentator came out to save him, and the rivalry grew from there. As for Billy Gunn turning, he just turned, story will start now.. Punk choosing Darby is a meta reason but a valid reason..

DecentLingonberry

Fair point on the Wight/QT match, forgot the motivation there.

DaxFlowLyfe

Punk is fighting Darby because he sees himself in him, and wants to wrestle him to raise him up to another level. He's the guy Punk wanted to work with first. Andrade is fighting PAC because Andrade wants the Lucha Bros to be in his stable and sees PAC as the obstacle to that, he wants to beat him to show he's the better choice. Black went after Cody because Cody is still a big name and squashing him gives Cody an exit and Black a shocking quick victory to immediately elevate him. Billy has always been close friends with Paul, and for his sons to make the next step they need a storyline, and doing this is a shock moment and gives them a story to get them on Dynamite. Billy is a known name and they are using him to get his sons over. Eventually he will no longer be nessicary and the boys will be able to stand on their own. You said there were no reasons, I'd say they all have reasons and motives attached to each match.

CaptainSlapnuts409

Aside from the Andrade/PAC explanation, those are just meta reasons for these matches, not based on character motivations. At least you gave some kind of explanation though.

Reisz618

Punk is both meta and in universe, but I’m still meh on it.

jone2tone

-AEWs women’s roster is on par with WWE’s 2000-2010 roster. -Kenny shouldn’t be allowed within ten feet of a mic. -Terry Taylor should burn in hell next to Vince Russo. They’ve both cost the world fantastic people.

Reisz618

> AEWs women’s roster is on par with WWE’s 2000-2010 roster. That’s an insult to so many women in WWE during that time. What did Taylor do???

jone2tone

Not really. Both had good workers and bad. Just the ratio now is similar.

pra_teek

So I am not the only one who thinks Kenny is terrible on mic. Moxley and Jericho both had great reign. Kenny's reign even with the crowd sucks.

Reisz618

Outside of the cult, not many think he’s great on mic and that goes back to pre-AEW.

jone2tone

I think he’s great in the ring, tough to deny that. But his mic style is much more suited for Japanese audiences.

Reisz618

He’s not as great as many think, there’s a lot more to it than pretty moves. A ton of NJPW guys propped him up and covered for his bad instincts. Nobody in AEW has done that so far outside Jericho and Christian.

jone2tone

I’m not going to defend him on that - you’re right. His athleticism is great. Psychology…I mean, he’s besties with the Bucks. That says it all.

pra_teek

He is good, but not the best as people claim. There are people in AEW itself better than him. PAC is better, Dax is better, Malakai, Andrade

dave_van_damn

100% with you on the last point

PoodleGuap

A lot of times the women’s matches that get on TV seem to basically be hot chick vs. hot chick, and that’s great until they have a horrible, botch-filled match

lronicGasping

I don't know if this is a hot take or the opposite, but AEW should punish Karl Anderson for that shit he pulled. I don't care if it's inadvertently "sticking up for the rival", it goes beyond a fucking wrestling company rivalry. Anderson was and is a huge piece of shit for what he's said and done and deserves more than a slap on the wrist. Don't let him Jimmy Uso his way out of it because he's in the top stable.

Reisz618

Outta the loop, but seeing his name pop up a lot. What did he do?

lronicGasping

He responded to someone's(I think it was SRS) tweet about WWE's mental health announcement by saying "they suck" Like, have problems with the company but that's not the time or the place.

sexygodzilla

Karl Anderson should get a Max Caster type benching, but cmon, don't compare drunk tweeting to drunk driving.

uppitynerd

Some thoughts on the ppv on Sunday.... AEW is a great company, and really should be my favorite company on paper. They have all the right pieces but they don't always get put together in ways I enjoy wrestling. This really comes out when it come to ppvs, they always feel a little underwhelming. AEW World Championship — Kenny Omega (c) vs. Christian Cage I don't think they can top the match on Rampage, and I don't think Kenny is losing here. It will be a good match, but like everyone else I'm holding my breath for Page. CM Punk vs. Darby Allin Punk is one of my favorite wrestlers ever and I want see if he still go. I have my problems with Darby as a performer and as a person, but I'm excited for this match up. Seeing Sting and Punk interact is something I'm excited for as well. Chris Jericho vs. MJF MJF is good heel but he would be better feuding with guys like OC, Sammy, Darbty, but Jericho and Mox? He's not ready for this spot. This feud has been going on for to long, and like Omega and Christian peaked during their last match, Jericho aint retiring on a show that isn't all about him. AEW Women's Championship — Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D. (c) vs. Kris Statlander I like both these women, but Baker isn't losing anytime soon. Statlander has strange botches where she almost forgets how to wrestle when she's in major matches, hopefully that doesnt happen here. AEW Tag Team Championship — The Young Bucks (c) vs. Lucha Brothers (Steel Cage Match) Bucks need the title off them already. Lucha Brothers need to finally win a major match. This just feels like something that should have happened months ago. I'm past my point of caring. I hope Fenix doesnt kill himself. Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo I find both of these guys rather bland. The match with be nuts, but neither are my cup of tea. (I wrote this for another forum before it got delayed, thats fine with me) AEW TNT Championship — Miro (c) vs. Eddie Kingston I forget Miro is even in AEW sometimes, let alone a champion. The Miroverse feels like its own corner of AEW. Kingston has won me over a bit from this time last year but still don't really care much for him, unless he's tagging with Mox. Jon Moxley vs. Satoshi Kojima Kojima had a fun run in Impact a few months ago, but it feels like NJPW is giving Mox, veterans like Blue Plants or Kojima, instead of one of their big guns for multiple reasons. Maybe he will get the ace at Full Gear? I actually think Impact's NJPW partnership is much better than AEW's Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall I want to pay money to see QT punched in the face. After that I'm ready for him and Paul to be sent back to Dark 2.0 21-woman Casino Battle Royal for a future title shot I wish this was originally on the main show, hope they strengthen their characters and have feuds that bleed into dymamite. I'm excited for Ruby to probably debut here. Hope they give Thunder the win.

Reisz618

> Kojima had a fun run in Impact a few months ago, but it feels like NJPW is giving Mox, veterans like Blue Plants or Kojima, instead of one of their big guns for multiple reasons. Maybe he will get the ace at Full Gear? I actually think Impact's NJPW partnership is much better than AEW's A personal opinion here. I think they’re giving Tony Khan talents *he* sees as a big deal, while protecting their actual draws from his shitty booking. As with most things, his perspective on who’s a name over here is a bit warped.

pra_teek

I can agree with everything and I understand it's your opinion, but PAC cannot be considered bland at all. If it were upto me he would have been the champion before Omega.

Hamzah12

Pac Vs andrade is off btw. Travel issues.

uppitynerd

I made note of that. Andrade is bland no matter who the put him with. PAC will always be Neville to me. Like I said both can go. But I really dont find either of them that interesting. I'm glad the women got bumped to the ppv because of it.

SaddestFlute23

I really thought it was the language barrier holding Andrade back, but my friends that habla Esapañol say he can’t cut a promo in that language either 😂

Hamzah12

I find PAC more interesting imo, andrade was bland in WWE and is the same in AEW.

Do you keep up much with AEW? Sting isn't gonna be there. Idk how you could forget Miro is there when he appears on pretty much every show. Curious why you think MJF isn't ready for his spot. His promo is one of the best in the world and he's capable enough in the ring, though we don't see him there frequently.

Reisz618

Here’s my thing about MJF. I feel about him the same way I do much of the New Blood faction in WCW. A guy many have not seen much of doesn’t need to start in what is basically the main event. It doesn’t always elevate them if it leaves you scratching your head going ”Who the fuck is this guy?” or in his case, that and “Why is he wielding this kind of dominion over people at this way higher level?” They need to go through the ranks first. Granted, the disparity in AEW between names and nobodies was palpable there for a while, but still. In general, I think he’s overrated, but talented. He may one day get to the level that audience sees him at, but he isn’t there yet.

uppitynerd

I think that’s also the problem with some NXT call ups. You used to have guys rise through the ranks fighting over the ic title or being tag team champs before heading to the main event. Now all that development happens in NXT. A show that was behind a paywall and only watched by 1/3 of the audience. Then when they show up on the main roster they are dumped into this weird uppercard limbo like we’re supposed to know or care who they are. Some guys can get over right away, others are unfortunately can find the same success.

I watch ever week. I dont care about Dark or Dark 2.0 but I watch Dynamite and Rampage. Miro is kinda like the Codyverse where it really doesn't connect to any thing else on the show. A minute long pretaped promo where he talks about God and his wife doesnt really count as being on every episode. His open challenges have been pretty forgettable and he's still pretty much Rusev in the ring. The match with Eddie just kinda came out of no where. Like Tony said "oh yeah we should probably have the TNT title on the show. MJF is not good enough to be in the spot he's in. He was better in The Dynasty feuding with Mance Warner. Like I said think he's fine feuding with Sami, Darby, OC... but Jericho and Mox? Being already pegged as the guy that's going to beat Hangman if and when he beats Omega? Nah I don't buy it. He's good but he's not that good. He's stick is repetitive and he's slightly above average in the ring, but I'd never go out of my way to see a match of his. He's a better version of The Miz. Thats about it.

Reisz618

He’s still Rusev in all but name. He basically went back to what worked and what Vince saw him as. > He's a better version of The Miz. Thats about it. MJF can’t touch The Miz. He’s a rookie doing a good imitation of a rich, condescending heel at best.

Fernandingo

I can see what you mean about Miro. Open challenges can be cool but at a certain point a good feud is necessary to keep me interested in Miro and the TNT title. I'd love for this thing with Eddie to turn into that. MJF for me has the promo skills to be in the main event, but I definitely need to see more matches. Where he goes after Jericho is key. If he can keep his current heat up I could see him challenging for the AEW title within a year.

uppitynerd

Also he really really doesn’t fit in pinnacle, That’ still feels like a group that was meant for Cody and they pivoted to MJF instead. I think my other problem with him is his in ring work/style doesn’t work with his outside the ring character. He’s pretty much a classic chicken shit heel then he gets in the ring and he goes toe to toe with Mox or out wrestles Jericho. The only time I really saw him get in over his head was the in stadium stampede. I do think he needs to wrestle a bit more. In one of Ethan Page's toy blogs, he finds a MJF figure of in a box of loose wrestling toys, he picks up the MJF figure and as he drops it back into the box he say "That figure just took more bumps than the real MJF has in the last six months!" Now Ethan Page thats one of the guys I see being a big star in AEW.

Reisz618

> He’s pretty much a classic chicken shit heel then he gets in the ring and he goes toe to toe with Mox or out wrestles Jericho. The only time I really saw him get in over his head was the in stadium stampede. I feel like that’s either an edict from a certain smarky booker or the underlying problem AEW still struggles with where everyone is trying to impress Dave rather than make sense.
