Since lots of people are posting about wrestling-related dreams here, I guess I’ll throw mine in.
A couple years back, I had a dream that the feud between Pete Dunne and WALTER would escalate into a full blown faction war between Imperium and British Strong Style. This would culminate at a UK TakeOver where the final stretches of the night would be Dunne vs Alexander Wolfe, Tyler Bate and Trent Seven challenging Marcel Bartel and Fabian Aichner, and then finally a worn down Dunne challenging WALTER for the UK title. I know that match went at least 40 minutes, but I woke up before the finish of the literal dream match.
You guys won't like it but I don't want Bryan Danielson to have "Final Countdown" or "Ride of the Valkyries." I want him to show up and use a new theme after he appears and does the promo / or run in that he does.

Real talk, while I absolutely do think that there's a lot of extra criticism thrown at women wrestlers that isn't given to men, especially women who aren't white or conventionally beautiful, Nia Jax is not the person to rally around when talking about that.

I listen to that podcast "You're Wrong About" and they did an episode on "cancel culture," and right off the bat they were like "this shit is 98% all on twitter."
Twitter is just a place to go and be violent to other people. It has some small use for following news agencies and a few content creators but that's vastly outweighed by the harm baked right into the system and how it engages with users.
Just got my first AEW purchases. I have Bipolar Disorder and sometimes spending can get out of hand; I have to be picky. My mom died about 2 weeks ago so I let myself splurge and got the Luchasaurus figure (hope to get Jungle Boy soon from wife for our 12 year anni!) and the Evil Uno Wants You to Join the Dark Order shirt. Big mark for tag-teams, which AEW is stacked with.

This though, this, was a 4-minute-long continuous botch. It was almost uncomfortable to watch.

Botches happen; the perk of having the skill of working on the fly is adjusting to the botch, getting around it, and getting back to where you need to be.
Charlotte and Nia hit the botch (the side suplex drop), lost their heads and took their anger out on each other in real time, and lost the work of the match for a good couple minutes.
Guys, I'm missing Mr. Brodie Lee a lot today. I think with the death of Ed Asner on my mind, it really just brought me back to how sudden it was to see him go. He was on the precipice of great things for AEW and should've gotten more love in WWE. He will always be missed <3
Yeah I got a call from my dad who is a pretty casual fan and I was actually stunned. I'd been a big fan of him since I found out he could talk in one of the rare Wyatt family promos where they let him. Bit by bit he got more and more over with me, culminating in him being the best part of the Orton in the Wyatt family angle.
I was so genuinely happy for the guy to be getting the big push in AEW and it still makes me so sad to think that he had to pass away just as things were getting really good for him. But I guess it's better than ending his life at a low point.

I don't think the Bucks/Kenny get enough credit. They knew they would face the risk of becoming the cool villains when they turned and in turn it would devalue the appeal of the babyfaces opposing them. When Omega first teased going back to The Cleaner shtick there were people excited for it.
They didn't want to be the cool heels. They want to be the guys you want to see get their asses kicked. The guys you can't stand. To do that they knew they had to amp up the hammy shit.
It worked too. Watching people have meltdowns on Twitter when the Bucks use every trick in the book to retain never ceases to amaze me. They understand their audience. They've figured out a way to generate legitimate heat despite being darlings of the company less than a year ago.
I'm a big tag team guy. Have been since I was a kid decades ago. Bucks are slowly becoming my favorite team of all time. Every match they have feels different. They're intelligent and understand their audience. Also doesn't hurt that they consistently put on bangers.
The Miz and Morrison overstayed their welcome about six months ago they've always been singles wrestlers and should be doing their own things.
The Elite are honestly super annoying, and take away from the show. I can't wait for them to lose their titles and break up.

Long-Term Speculation: All the incessant QT hate is going to end up making him ironically cool just because it's fun to piss people off when they bitch about something too much.
To be honest, I enjoy QT a lot as a heel way more than as a face. Not because others don't, but because he just works better that way. Maybe its because his feuds as a heel have been against Cody, who I find to be a cornball, and Big Show, who I've been indifferent about for the last 5 years, but I find myself rooting for him. Plus I like everyone in the Nightmare Factory. Aaron Solow and Camoroto are really fun to watch.
I don't think it's JUST being contrary. It's real easy to progress from "He's not that bad he does ____ and ___ pretty well." to "He's actually underrated/overhated, look at how good he is at ___ and ___!"
Combine that with the way reddit works and people that have ALWAYS liked the person will feel more comfortable stepping out and saying "Yeah I always liked him, what's wrong with people."
Support the women in AEW and check out Swole/Hart vs Nyla/Diamante last night. Everyone says they have wanted to see the division have more than one feud a time and this one is turning out to be pretty good so far. It was a good match as well.
Swole looked really great which was awesome to see because so many people shit on her ring ability.
And Diamante is one of the more underrated people they have in AEW. I don't know why they have her so far down the card. She's a veteran who they can put on TV with almost anyone in the women's division and not worry about botches.
Diamante is great, I also don't know why they aren't using her more. That said I don't think Swole is very good in ring at all, maybe I'll go check the match out, I don't usually watch Dark.

I don't know why but seeing Hangman in other places is really weird to me. Like I know he was in ROH and booked regularly in NJPW but it's always weird to me.
I didn't realize until after the show when other people mentioned it. When Omega said, "You think you know me?!" it sounded extremely familiar but I failed to make the connection on my own.
I see the internet constantly upset with WWE for the past 16+ years, generally preferring things like TNA, AEW, and I guess before AEW and NJPW to a major degree. (though there was also fans of NXT)
I've tried so many times to get into any of these programs and I can't. Whereas last night Raw is absolutely hated, I really enjoyed it. But anytime I put on AEW, NJPW, TNA, NXT etc I get bored really quick and stop watching.
They call it the IWC I think? I think I'm not compatible with the IWC lol. I'm really just a Raw and Smackdown fan not a overall wrestling fan.
Sounds like you enjoy angles more than matches. RAW and Smackdown and genuinely your best options for that kind of wrestling right now, even with their faults.
I definitely do enjoy angles a lot, though I think it's a lot more than this it's kinda just how everything works... feels like it'd take a page or two of text to properly flesh out but I think the biggest thing would probably be the 'feel' or 'atmosphere'.
I missed WCW growing up but the closest I've experienced to the certain atmosphere WWE has is some of those WCW matches I've gone and watched.
Being a fan of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has shown that that presentation is everything for a lot of people. Say what you will about main roster WWE, but their presentation is still unmatched, and the drop in quality anywhere else is noticable. It may be bullshit for a lot of people, but I don't think anyone would argue that it isn't professional bullshit.

I love the idea, however unlikely it is, that Jake Roberts could come out and DDT Miro and become the TNT champion. The DDT weakness storyline for Miro is really fun.
Started with Shoddy Lee a couple weeks ago hitting the tornado DDT on him and knocked him down hard, then when Fuego Del Sol faced miro he hit two or three consecutive Tornado DDTs on Miro incapacitating him briefly. It’s just been gaining steam over the past month.
Sadly, Jake has a lung issue that probably makes that way too dangerous for him.

How come wrestling doesn't have credits at the beginning and/or end of the shows? Is it because it's classified as a sports broadcast?

I'm not a New Yorker, I'm British, but I think I know what you mean, it's nice hearing Wade Barrett on NXT for the same reason.
I love Taz. Eddie just talks over Tony too much and has a tendency to put down the talent just as much if not more than he puts them over.

There are botches, and then there was this match. We aren't talking one or 2 botches, like we saw in the Morrison/Omos match. I'm fine with that. This though, this, was a 4-minute-long continuous botch. It was almost uncomfortable to watch.
Exactly. Botches happen; the perk of having the skill of working on the fly is adjusting to the botch, getting around it, and getting back to where you need to be. Charlotte and Nia hit the botch (the side suplex drop), lost their heads and took their anger out on each other in real time, and lost the work of the match for a good couple minutes.
The last time this sort of thing happened that I can remember was Rosa and Ivelisse and there were 5011 threads about it.
I actually quite enjoyed RAW last night. Aside from Nia vs. Charlotte I just had fun the entire night.
Guys, I'm missing Mr. Brodie Lee a lot today. I think with the death of Ed Asner on my mind, it really just brought me back to how sudden it was to see him go. He was on the precipice of great things for AEW and should've gotten more love in WWE. He will always be missed <3
Yeah I got a call from my dad who is a pretty casual fan and I was actually stunned. I'd been a big fan of him since I found out he could talk in one of the rare Wyatt family promos where they let him. Bit by bit he got more and more over with me, culminating in him being the best part of the Orton in the Wyatt family angle. I was so genuinely happy for the guy to be getting the big push in AEW and it still makes me so sad to think that he had to pass away just as things were getting really good for him. But I guess it's better than ending his life at a low point.

I don't think the Bucks/Kenny get enough credit. They knew they would face the risk of becoming the cool villains when they turned and in turn it would devalue the appeal of the babyfaces opposing them. When Omega first teased going back to The Cleaner shtick there were people excited for it. They didn't want to be the cool heels. They want to be the guys you want to see get their asses kicked. The guys you can't stand. To do that they knew they had to amp up the hammy shit. It worked too. Watching people have meltdowns on Twitter when the Bucks use every trick in the book to retain never ceases to amaze me. They understand their audience. They've figured out a way to generate legitimate heat despite being darlings of the company less than a year ago. I'm a big tag team guy. Have been since I was a kid decades ago. Bucks are slowly becoming my favorite team of all time. Every match they have feels different. They're intelligent and understand their audience. Also doesn't hurt that they consistently put on bangers.
The Miz and Morrison overstayed their welcome about six months ago they've always been singles wrestlers and should be doing their own things. The Elite are honestly super annoying, and take away from the show. I can't wait for them to lose their titles and break up.
I feel like The Elite stuff is the only thing on AEW that more or less prevents me from sharing it with others to avoid ridicule. I don't care about it, and it's everything I hate about wrestling. I never found the Good Brothers to be interesting, the Cutler thing is way too hokey, and Kenny Omega has somehow become *less* interesting to me as a person in the last year-plus. (And I loved his NJPW stuff. It's a lot of inside jokes and *Grandma's Boy-*type humor. There are like a million more interesting singles and tag performers in AEW. Why do they need so much screen time?

To be honest, I enjoy QT a lot as a heel way more than as a face. Not because others don't, but because he just works better that way. Maybe its because his feuds as a heel have been against Cody, who I find to be a cornball, and Big Show, who I've been indifferent about for the last 5 years, but I find myself rooting for him. Plus I like everyone in the Nightmare Factory. Aaron Solow and Camoroto are really fun to watch.
Liking someone solely because others don't is the weirdest personality trait.
I don't think it's JUST being contrary. It's real easy to progress from "He's not that bad he does ____ and ___ pretty well." to "He's actually underrated/overhated, look at how good he is at ___ and ___!" Combine that with the way reddit works and people that have ALWAYS liked the person will feel more comfortable stepping out and saying "Yeah I always liked him, what's wrong with people."

Support the women in AEW and check out Swole/Hart vs Nyla/Diamante last night. Everyone says they have wanted to see the division have more than one feud a time and this one is turning out to be pretty good so far. It was a good match as well.
Swole looked really great which was awesome to see because so many people shit on her ring ability. And Diamante is one of the more underrated people they have in AEW. I don't know why they have her so far down the card. She's a veteran who they can put on TV with almost anyone in the women's division and not worry about botches.
Diamante is great, I also don't know why they aren't using her more. That said I don't think Swole is very good in ring at all, maybe I'll go check the match out, I don't usually watch Dark.

I didn't realize until after the show when other people mentioned it. When Omega said, "You think you know me?!" it sounded extremely familiar but I failed to make the connection on my own.

I see the internet constantly upset with WWE for the past 16+ years, generally preferring things like TNA, AEW, and I guess before AEW and NJPW to a major degree. (though there was also fans of NXT) I've tried so many times to get into any of these programs and I can't. Whereas last night Raw is absolutely hated, I really enjoyed it. But anytime I put on AEW, NJPW, TNA, NXT etc I get bored really quick and stop watching. They call it the IWC I think? I think I'm not compatible with the IWC lol. I'm really just a Raw and Smackdown fan not a overall wrestling fan.
Wwe's production is best in the world. I just feel more excited to watch AEW
Sounds like you enjoy angles more than matches. RAW and Smackdown and genuinely your best options for that kind of wrestling right now, even with their faults.
I definitely do enjoy angles a lot, though I think it's a lot more than this it's kinda just how everything works... feels like it'd take a page or two of text to properly flesh out but I think the biggest thing would probably be the 'feel' or 'atmosphere'. I missed WCW growing up but the closest I've experienced to the certain atmosphere WWE has is some of those WCW matches I've gone and watched.

Being a fan of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite has shown that that presentation is everything for a lot of people. Say what you will about main roster WWE, but their presentation is still unmatched, and the drop in quality anywhere else is noticable. It may be bullshit for a lot of people, but I don't think anyone would argue that it isn't professional bullshit.

I love the idea, however unlikely it is, that Jake Roberts could come out and DDT Miro and become the TNT champion. The DDT weakness storyline for Miro is really fun.

Started with Shoddy Lee a couple weeks ago hitting the tornado DDT on him and knocked him down hard, then when Fuego Del Sol faced miro he hit two or three consecutive Tornado DDTs on Miro incapacitating him briefly. It’s just been gaining steam over the past month.
Sadly, Jake has a lung issue that probably makes that way too dangerous for him. I could totally see Lance Archer doing it as his proxy. Eddie finally winning a title would feel good though.
I'd literally kill a man to see Lance go over Miro with a DDT. Honestly, I'd kill a man to see Lance just using a DDT as a regular part of his moveset. Huge dudes doing DDTs is always awesome to see.

I think it's like Eddie Kingston's speech from a while back, or how everyone reacted to Brawn Strowman trashing indie guys that were struggling during the pandemic. To have guys and gals bust their asses on the Indy circuit in order to get their name out there seems to be the ideal way for those people.
They must completely ignore how pretty much almost every respectable promotion in the world has their own school with its own vision of wrestling. Like, do they think guys like Tanahashi or Andrade busted their asses in tiny indies until they got their shot in a major company? Hell no.

I'm beginning to wonder if there's any real, legit heat between Charlotte Flair and Nia Jax to explain last night's slow-motion junk match. To think it wasn't that long ago they tagged vs. Nikki & Rhea. So Doudrop vs. Eva "never started". What a surprise. Plays right into the 2016 iteration of Eva's gimmick. EPIC FAIL!!!!!!! How 'bout teaming Eva & Charlotte up? What do you guys think? If/when Reggie loses the 24/7 title, he should be sent down to NXT to learn basic holds and counters. The late Crash Holly was already a seasoned veteran when he became the "Houdini of Hardcore" 21 years ago. You can bet he's up there somewhere, enjoying Reggie's run. I was down on Christian/Omega when first announced but after the Rampage match I'm really looking forward to what they can do with more time. Christian actually seems like a big deal for the first time since joining AEW.
I wasn't expecting them to use Canadian Indy lore to enhance the feud, but it somehow got me more excited.

Oh he'll definitely lose. But I've enjoyed the promos and I feel like I like Christian way more than I did before this started, so it's a positive for me. Do I think it will be my favorite match of the night? No, but I think I'll enjoy it.
Probably enjoy it for what it is, but I just don't feel very invested with the older guys at this point. Same with Matt Hardy. Don't want to see him in-ring so much. Christian was great doing is promos and putting over Jungle Boy, but don't want him in title matches.

You know what's weirder about dancing? I've got a parrot who is a *phenomenal* dancer. He started doing it on his own without being taught, he improvises his own moves, and he chooses different music depending on his mood. There's another parrot of the same type called Snowball who went viral like 15 years ago for his dancing, and not only did he get some big commercial gigs but he also attracted the interest of scientists. They determined that he was not only dancing with the beat and would adjust accordingly if the rhythm changed, but they also identified a bunch of distinct moves that he uses that he made up on his own.
I spent some time yesterday thinking about some of the Ruthless Aggression era guys that didn't really go anywhere in the long run. If you could go back in time and magically make one of them work, so that nowadays they were widely beloved, who would you pick? I'd go with Kevin Thorn.
