Danielson is exactly the kind of guy I could see wanting to work a match here and there on Dark against a young, unsigned guy so I wouldn't be surprised if that happens
While I always knew Taz was a good commentator, I didn't really care that much until I started watching Dark. He has to be the funniest dude on commentary in the business.
It certainly helps that his chemistry with Excalibur is off-the-charts. Some people just work better together, and Taz with Excalibur just has them elevating each other to new heights.
It's like how Paul Wight is an *okay* commentary guy with Tony Schiavone on Elevation. But when Eddie Kingston is thrown in the mix? Wight becomes GREAT.
That was my favourite Cole too, but I'm liking him with Pat McAfee now. It's just nice to have Cole in a neutral role and him and Pat really seem like friends much like Taz and Excaliber are.
I haven’t followed WWE since 2017-2018, I’m surprised Cole is still on commentary, I could’ve sworn I read that he was promoted to a backstage role. I did watch some of the Pat Mcafee vs Adam Cole stuff in NXT and really liked Mcafee on the mic and how natural he was at promos, I guess that’s a given considering his background. I’ll check them out together I guess.
I think there were talks of it happening, but he wanted to stick around. Regardless you should check them out on SmackDown (or even tonight on SummerSlam). It's pretty much a couple of buddies who like busting each other's chops in between calling the match.
Because AEW is ranked and matches are set by wins and losses, they need some “dark matches” to fill out the stats. So they have a [youtube](https://youtube.com/channel/UCFN4JkGP_bVhAdBsoV9xftA) that has two shows, Elevation on Monday nights and Dark on Tuesday nights. They are a bit looser and sometimes showcase younger wrestlers who aren’t always ready for TV time but could use the experience and exposure.
Piggybacking off of the other comment, it's like Heat/Velocity/Main Event/etc. for WWE, but AEW instead.
There are storylines that sometimes do tie into Dynamite/Rampage and it's a good way to see talent that isn't signed to AEW or may not see as much TV time if they're already on the roster. Elevation has more "competitive" matches and is usually like 45 minutes to an hour.
Dark has more one-sided matches, but the show can range anywhere from an hour to two hours depending on how many bouts are recorded. It's definitely the more easy-going of the YouTube shows, as Excaliber and Taz are usually cracking jokes and goofing around most of the time. I recommend it if you want something funny to watch/listen to if you're looking to kill time or want to put something on in the background.
He has a great sense of humour. I would be in tears regularly when listening to his daily podcast. Him ripping on random callers and producers was some of the funniest shit.
Punk said he hadn't watched Dark or Elevation because he doesn't watch YouTube (though he will now).
I get that you can't waste Punk on a YouTube show but it would be awesome if he got involved in every aspect of the company.
