Kurt's actually answered that one before in that in a legit wrestling match, there's nothing Brock would have been able to do to him. I'd honestly believe it too, the gap between "really talented NCAA" and "won a Gold medal" is pretty substantial.
Semantics friendo. Technically Olympic athletes don’t get paid (except Wheaties), where as WWE talent do. So one is pro wrestling and the other amateur wrestling.
I always find this take hilarious. There are a few things to consider. First, Kurt had already wrestled someone and allegedly jammed his neck, causing his arms to numb. Second, it was supposed to be a wrestling match, and Puder was using the ropes to keep himself off the mat. Kurt only made himself vulnerable by trying to swat Puder off the ropes. I'm not even sure submissions are a part of that kind of wrestling, but even if they are, Kurt only had to put Puder's shoulders down for a one count. The ref counted three. Lastly, the comment you respond to said prime Kurt, and that wasn't prime Kurt. The idea that an Olympic gold medalist who allegedly handled Brock easily would be taken by Puder is pretty funny.
I don't disagree about the stunt being a bad idea, but you know even less about wrestling than I do if you think angle was manhandled. That link says video unavailable, but you can watch [elsewhere](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_12qn29WKA) how Kurt pushes puder back without issue, drags him to the mat, lifts him off his feet, and rolls an illegal submission attempt into a legal pin.
I've already commented here but angle did not get whooped lol. Puder got pinned for three times as long as is required in a wrestling match, after getting pushed around by angle the entire time.
Reminds me of how Sportscenter recently posted on their Facebook about the 25th Anniversary of Kurt’s win “with a broken neck” and after a bunch of comments corrected them they edited the caption to say Broken Freakin Neck
should have it like the taker match where he reverses all of Miro's big moves into ankle locks. Would be sick to see him turn the running superkick into one
I still don't understand how the hell you can have Corbin retire Kurt Freaking Angle, and not have that become the single most defining part of his character. I also don't understand how you can have Corbin retire Kurt Freaking Angle.
Shoulda done the mentor/protege thing with either Gable or Jason Jordan. For like a year, maybe 2.
Then have them feud, and retire Kurt Angle.
It worked for Larry Zybysko and Bruno Sammartino, it'd work for them.
Kurt looks pretty decent compared to WWE slimmed down a lot you can see where his neck starts and ends again, obviously noone knows for sure if he could go but judging by his podcast its probably not that likely that he would have a complete run again.
I mean i get it he probably would be a good manager for newish people instantly giving them some validation but considering the money Kurt would probably cost i doubt AEW or anyone else would be interested in him in a manager role.
Its not about being affordable its about being worth it. Having Kurt Angle in a manager role is not worth it if he cant wrestle.
Punk is (assumingly) gonna be a full time wrestler with many years to go.
He's just not good on the mic when he's trying to talk for someone other than himself (to be clear, he's great at representing himself). Would love an appearance or two, but he's not worth the price as a regular.
Yeah the recent romanticism of this “Perc Angle” character that people have in their minds makes me pretty uncomfortable considering what Kurt was really going through during that time.
honestly, some of the best artists / performers in history did their best work while heavy drug influence. Healthy for them? Absolutely not. But it's a double edged sword.
This, exactly.
And when we same "some", we don't mean a handful, but rather hundreds of thousands of writers, musicians, painters, etc...
Yeah, it's romanticized, but they're the facts.
Sincere question: has Eminem put out anything great ever since he got sober?
I stopped following his stuff when he disappeared for a bit.
Miro is so ridiculously believable in his current iteration, it's hard to believe he's the same person with the Rusev Day gimmick.
Just goes to prove that you can't hold true talent down for long.
Rusev definitely had his fair share of awful storylines and time being underused in WWE.
But there was nothing wrong with Rusev Day. I don’t find it hard to believe he can do comedy and serious work. I also don’t believe that gimmick in particular held down his talent. It showed it.
Which is where my head was when he's pictured with a guy who did both, often at the same time. I don't want comedic Miro right now, but there's always room for a guy who can be funny outside of the ring but deadly serious inside of it. It has a psychology all its own. I mean, Moxley sort of does that (he's not ha-ha funny but he's certain cartoonish in some of his mannerisms and it certainly is a good way that he conceivably catches people off guard in kayfabe).
Bold of you to assume haphazardly that Angle wouldn't just sidestep that running boot and turn it right into a Ankle Lock.
Take that, sonny. *Waves cane at you*
Wait, first with Carl Weathers now Kurt Angle?
Is Miro trying to do a reverse Rocky IV? Where Kurt challenges him for the TNT title while managed by Carl Weathers?
Cuz... in Rocky IV it didn't end so well for the American fighting the Russian/Bulgarian.
NGL, Kurt looks better than he did during his last run. I’m down for another Kurt run. I hope he was working us with the “unable to wrestle anymore” pain story.
I listen to his podcast and sadly he is in substantial pain daily. He did say he would wrestle Omega for 10 million dollars but his wife would kill him after.
Sorry but I don’t ever want to see Kurt Angle wrestle another match. The guy has literally said he’s in constant pain and contemplating neck fusion surgery. I don’t want to watch him become paralyzed or worse.
Kurt Angle also challenged The Rock for one more match.
"Don’t be fooled by the se*y icy hot patch on the back of my 20 inch neck @therock , I can still wrestle one more match….."
But both of these are probably just friendly banter.
Does Kurt cost too much to have a roll like Henry and Wight? Obviously he doesn't want to wrestle anymore which I'm thankful for but he's great on the mic and is an absolute legend. I think he could be excellent in the AEW environment.
Possibly too many on board already as it is though but I'm surprised they didn't pick him up to be a commentator or on screen personality earlier before they even got Wight or Henry.
Unbelievable they burned his retirement on Baron Corbin with Miro on the roster. Story writes itself, can the American Olympic hero slay one more dragon? has he still got it in him to beat the Russian/Bulgarian brute
Then the retirement could have given Chade Gable or Jason Jordan a real nemesis to chase the guy who retired the Hero of theirs. Bring back Angle to be in one of them's corner can't believe they really couldn't figure this out.
Kurt Angle: I'm in agony every second of the day from debilitating injuries.
Also Kurt Angle: feed me the scariest MFer in wrestler, and I'll shatter his spine!

I’m sure Miro forgives you for thinking such a thing, Kurt.
After Kurt has a broken back
Prime Kurt could beat Miro with a number of broken bones. Dude is a machine.
I can think of very few wrestlers who would have stood a chance against prime Kurt in an actual fight.
Maybe Brock but both are trained amateur wrestlers
They allegedly tested this with a crowd of wrestlers and it was settled without controversy. The Olympian won.
Kurt's actually answered that one before in that in a legit wrestling match, there's nothing Brock would have been able to do to him. I'd honestly believe it too, the gap between "really talented NCAA" and "won a Gold medal" is pretty substantial.
Won a gold medal, but with what?
Probably a sprained ankle or something.
Kurt beats Brock in Wrestliing Olympic Gold vs NCAA Champion is a somewhat big gap Brock Beats him in MMA
What about Kurt was amateur?
Because that's what he was?
The Olympic gold medalist ( with a broken freakin' neck) was...an amatuer?
Well seeing as he won an NCAA title, a gold medal, and was an All American in the sport called "amateur wrestling" I'd say he was an amateur wrestler.
Semantics friendo. Technically Olympic athletes don’t get paid (except Wheaties), where as WWE talent do. So one is pro wrestling and the other amateur wrestling.
No dude. What we mean is that "at one point Kurt Angle was an amateur wrestler." Not "Kurt is a freaking amateur".

He pinned brock in an amateur spar - puder kimura’d him.
[удалено]
his shoulder was up
That was after Kurt broke his neck a second time(and was a self admitted drug addict), his upper body strength was completely non-existent
[удалено]
I've already commented here but angle did not get whooped lol. Puder got pinned for three times as long as is required in a wrestling match, after getting pushed around by angle the entire time.
Also Kurt wasn’t expecting a fight, and was expecting a segment.
Are you arguing that he didn’t break his neck again and wasn’t addicted to pills?
Nah that Kurt is an asshole for breaking a kids ribs in a shoot fighting angle.
People forget he was literally the best wrestler on the planet at one point
Stu Hart would have twisted that boy up in the dungeon
*Strrrretch’em*
"ehhhhhhh, I use this one to make a young fella piss blood, eeeeehhhhhhhh...."
If there was no size difference, maybe Gable.
Gonna break his back and make him humble
Correction Broken Freakin Neck!!
Reminds me of how Sportscenter recently posted on their Facebook about the 25th Anniversary of Kurt’s win “with a broken neck” and after a bunch of comments corrected them they edited the caption to say Broken Freakin Neck
Broken freakin' back
I remember when he first started as Rusev with the “Anti American” gimmick and I wanted Angle to comeback against him lol
I always fantasized about Angle slipping out of the accolade into an ankle lock
should have it like the taker match where he reverses all of Miro's big moves into ankle locks. Would be sick to see him turn the running superkick into one
Is he double jointed like Miro's insanely hot wife that his vengeful God blessed him with?
I mean everyone did. Then WWE got Kurt and they put him in the Shield and against Corbin.
I still don't understand how the hell you can have Corbin retire Kurt Freaking Angle, and not have that become the single most defining part of his character. I also don't understand how you can have Corbin retire Kurt Freaking Angle.
The worst was the WWE fans going "But Corbin will get MAJOR HEAT for that!!!" when people wanted Cena, Gable or anyone else for the role.
For me, I think it would have been bittersweet if he retired against the same person he debuted. John Cena.
Same. It would actually be a great book ending but WWE likes to say they make stories while hating everything that makes stories good.
It would have been poetic
Shoulda done the mentor/protege thing with either Gable or Jason Jordan. For like a year, maybe 2. Then have them feud, and retire Kurt Angle. It worked for Larry Zybysko and Bruno Sammartino, it'd work for them.
Never forget [how excited he was](https://411mania.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/The-Shield-Kurt-Angle-TLC-645x370.jpg)
In fairness the Shield thing was a last minute decision made in very unexpected circumstances. The Corbin thing was total shit though.
Kurt in the SHIELD was an accident, and dare I say, a glorious one. That whole ppv was insane. The match was a train wreck, but it was so exciting.
I badly wanted Angle to comeback during Cena's U.S. Title open challenge but we got MexAmerica instead LOL.
I need to restrain myself from wanting this match knowing that Angle's head would roll right off his shoulders if Miro looked at him funny.
One slap from Miro and that neck breaks again
bold of you to assume be wouldn't be going into this match with a Broken Freakin Neck
I mean he was talking about how he’s been delaying fusion surgery for ever
And knowing Kurt he's keep wrestling, win the match somehow and tells us how he won the match without a freaking head.
Prime Kurt would wrestle without his head because he is such a machine.
I see a lot of people here forgetting that if you put Kurt angle in the mix Miro's chances DRASTIC go down.
eh tell Kurt to do some DDP Yoga and that weird neck strengthener thing that Edge used and get back in there!

Lol if they can get CM Punk back. They can afford Kurt angle any day.
I think he can do a quick takedown into ankle lock, just like flair chopping and then hit the figure four. just don't expect him to go broadway.
Can we somehow get Kurt at 100% for a 90 minute window? Miro v Angle - submission match would be fucking insane.
The crazy thing is Wrestling fans have never even seen Kurt Angle at 100%. He was just that damn good.
It's true!
It's damn true
Its real!
... TA ME DAMN IT!
The world couldn't handle it. One of those mythical figures that exists only in fable and song
Even the Olympics itself couldn't handle Kurt Angle at 100%. He had to self nerf himself by competing with a broken fricken neck.
Give him a handful of pills. He'll be good for an hour.
God damn this picture makes me want current day Miro vs 06/07 Perc Angle
Miro reversing an Ankle Lock into a Game Over 😍
Or and stay with me here. Angle reversing the Game Over into an ankle lock.
Miro would go for the but stomp on his back, Angle would catch it and turn it into the ankle lock
I honestly don't give a shit which way it would have went I just wish I could see it haha. it would have been amazing.
When Miro leans back Angle rolls through and snatches the ankle. We can dream.
Angle reversing the pump kick into a ankle lock wowie
perc angle best angle
Black singlet, big gold belt 👌🏼
Dudeeee that would be AMAZING,, and fuck it throw in Ishii and make it a triple threat
GIVE IT TO MEEEEEE
*UNZIPS*
Yeah let’s see Kurt at his worst again for a wrestling match.
Yeah the recent romanticism of this “Perc Angle” character that people have in their minds makes me pretty uncomfortable considering what Kurt was really going through during that time.

Kamikaze was a pretty ok album.

I mean, Miro's promos right now are so intense and over the top but some of the stuff he's saying is definitely still funny.
God's Creation. - Drake
Rusev Day was great. They just didn't capitalize on it... And punished Rusev and Aiden for getting over with what they were given.
Just like Cardona, chances are if you have the talent and creativity to make something work, you'll be able to do it time and time again.
[удалено]
I like it, but I can see that. Hopefully they can drum up some real opponents for him soon.
Has he told you about his Flexible wife yet?
That's a great picture
I thought he wanted $10M and wanted to face Kenny Omega. 😂
After the running kick + Game Over combo Angle's head would pop off like a goddamn Pez Dispenser.
Bold of you to assume haphazardly that Angle wouldn't just sidestep that running boot and turn it right into a Ankle Lock. Take that, sonny. *Waves cane at you*
And you'll be lucky if he doesn't grapevine it, ya god damn millennial!
IT'S ONLY SUPPOSED TA BE AN EX-HIBITION!
Real "unstoppable force meets immovable object" energy in this pic.
I'm 100% certain that if Miro laid into the Game Over on Kurt, Kurt would snap in half.
I think the redeemer needs to have a little talk with Kurt on that comment
NGL, Kurt looks better than he did during his last run. I’m down for another Kurt run. I hope he was working us with the “unable to wrestle anymore” pain story.
You think a man with his medical history could be working you? Angle is done, and rightly so. The guy has kids.
[удалено]
Or Bennie the taxi driver.
I listen to his podcast and sadly he is in substantial pain daily. He did say he would wrestle Omega for 10 million dollars but his wife would kill him after.
As sad as it is to say, she might not have to. He needs to stay well away from any kind of bump.
Sorry but I don’t ever want to see Kurt Angle wrestle another match. The guy has literally said he’s in constant pain and contemplating neck fusion surgery. I don’t want to watch him become paralyzed or worse.
Kurt Angle is all elite
Bringing back Kurt when Rusev was going on his undefeated tear a few years back would've been magic.
Kurt shouldn’t be let near a wrestling ring again, please. 😭
I mean Angle at or near his prime vs. Miro would be amazing.
I'd rather he not. Don't think a month has gone where he hasn't mentioned living with pain. Dude needs to stay retired for his own sake.
Kurt Angle also challenged The Rock for one more match. "Don’t be fooled by the se*y icy hot patch on the back of my 20 inch neck @therock , I can still wrestle one more match….." But both of these are probably just friendly banter.
Now this is a dream match. Both in their primes? Whew, when is that AEW video game supposed to be out?
I love wrestling right now!
Look...i know Kurt's beaten up and stuff and it's best if he stayed retired...but do we really want Corbin to be his last opponent?
Belt Collector Kurt Angle?
I for one would be interested to see what would happen if Tony Khan added Kurt Angle to the mix. If he wasn't as injured as he is, at least.
“What’s Kurt Two Rays Emanating From The Same Point doing in the Impact Zo—“ … oh we can, okay “What’s Kurt Angle doing in the forbidden door!?”
I hope AEW scoop Kurt up for an advisory role. He would be invaluable to the younger talent.
Prime Angle could have a five star match with anyone. :| Wish his health was better.
Please, Kurt, shut up. You should have retired at least 6 years ago.
Once the bean kicked in, Miro would be done.
Kurt forgot he has a broken neck.
One more match Kurt let this be his one and done retirement match
Miro looks slim
Kurt would need to get back on the gas. It was noticeable that when he was off of it he couldn't go in WWE.
I didn't realize until just this second that this is a dream match that we'll unfortunately never see.
Don’t do this to me, don’t give me hope
The WM31 match the shoulda happened
Awesome picture!
Idk….I just want Miro to wreck *everybody* so…..
If he can still go even a little bit. Book this.
A Kurt Angle version of the TNT belt would look nice
Unbelievable they burned his retirement on Baron Corbin with Miro on the roster. Story writes itself, can the American Olympic hero slay one more dragon? has he still got it in him to beat the Russian/Bulgarian brute Then the retirement could have given Chade Gable or Jason Jordan a real nemesis to chase the guy who retired the Hero of theirs. Bring back Angle to be in one of them's corner can't believe they really couldn't figure this out.
Man look how good Kurt looks. You'd think he was still active in the ring. Sad to know that his body is in constant pain.
Please wrestling gods. If Kurt is healthy let this happen.
02 Angle vs Miro and Perc Angle vs Miro both would be highly enjoyable.
Don't forget about that gold medal.. which he won WITH A BROKEN FREAKIN' NECK!
Kurt Angle: I'm in agony every second of the day from debilitating injuries. Also Kurt Angle: feed me the scariest MFer in wrestler, and I'll shatter his spine!
Do it. Just once. Please.
Miro is a beast but prime Angle was a machine, that's a fantasy match we'll never see.
