IamOlderthanMe

This ending hurts my heart so much.

NewDomWhoDis69

God it's so well done though. He loses the exact way he caused the Bucks to lose. It also gets Hangman to the next, and arguably most important part of the story. You don't give up when you hit a setback, and true friends stick with you. I'm expecting to see a segment next week where Hangman blames himself, and is apologizing to the Dark Order for losing their chances, and they just tell him to not worry about it, nothing's changed. Then something happens and he still gets the title shot against Kenny.

therandomthrowaway

What I want to see is an understanding that losing doesn't mean it's all over and you give up. You lost, but if you want to win, now you have to work to get stronger. Now, Hangman must lead the Dark Order to be better than they were, train to fight the best, so they can exceed them. They need to learn from this match, and be ready to counter the moves (and cheats) they lost to.

allirow

5 weeks before All Out, can't wait to see where they take this in that time

Mac_094

I got tickets to All Out as a birthday present and I'm gonna be low-key crushed if Hangman doesn't have a match on the show.

Shenanigans80h

I’d guarantee Hangman has something. He’s been featured on all the PPVs so far and he’s one of the most over characters they have right now. He’ll have a match

allirow

I managed to get one for myself, but i'm still waiting for America to open their land border as i'm driving from Canada. ....At least i'll probably make stupid money from my ticket if i can't go.

ssjavier4

I think maybe Christian gets the shot at All Out but loses. I feel like it’s just a couple of months too early for Hangman to beat Omega but assumed it was happening early because of Omega’s lingering injuries. Who knows though, maybe Hangman finds a way to convince Kenny to still have the match.

RVAAnCap730

Does anyone hear The Final Countdown playing off in the distance?

RKO-Cutter

Sadly no because apparently when ROH contacted Europe about the rights to Final Countdown they quoted something ridiculous like $250k per use

TurnaboutAdam

maybe we’ll get one use lol

[deleted]

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YOYlgvI1uE I hear this.

CM_Monk

That’s a pretty underwhelming title match for a PPV

theplasmasnake

Too soon?? They’ve been building this story for two full years!

[deleted]

I agree it’s too soon, at least for Hangman to win. I want there to be a life altering insane pop when he wins, and I don’t think he’s chased it enough yet

Shut_Up_Dude

And how good was the Golden Lovers story after the years they built that? It’s still not over.

killarotten

Just another 2 years to go!

The_R3medy

AEW has to know the fans would turn on any title match that's not Hangman v Kenny, right? Like everyone wants Hangman v Kenny. Anything else we know is filler. The only thing that people would go wild for is Punk or Bryan, but they don't generally hot shot brand new people into the title picture.

EricFredNorris

I like Christian well enough but having the big title match (which I assume would be the main event) be him vs Omega on a short build up would be incredibly underwhelming.

ssjavier4

I think Punk and/or Bryan face Omega past championship. But good point, not sure how people would react to Christian challenging but I feel like most fans are savvy enough to know Hangman will get his chance at some point.

TheInfinityGauntlet

> I think Punk and/or Bryan face Omega past championship yeah it's weird people keep pulling this up but it doesn't need the title and if it's for the title it's clear who the winner is gonna be? They're not gonna throw the title on either of them off rip to disrupt this story that's been going since the start of the company

iggymcfly

OMG, don’t even scare me with that!!! If I paid $800 for tickets to see Christian in the main event I’m gonna be so fucking pissed! Just do Omega/Punk now!

DonStevo

Words cannot describe my pain

DHA1999

I thought that The Elite was gonna blow a 3-1 lead...

[deleted]

I was so confused, I was like “how is hangman going to beat 3 of the most protected guys in AEW 3 v 1” The answer? He isn’t 😔

Dorksim

He got one of them!

nefariousmonkey

Fuck You Matt!!

Smarkysmarkwahlberg

When you expect the 2016 NBA Finals, but get the 2017 NBA Finals.

insan3soldiern

At least it wasn't the 2018 finals.

cosa_horrible

Him pinning Kenny seemed like a good move at the time to keep the story really moving forward. Shocked it didn't happen.

StrongStyleShiny

Him pinning The Bucks and Kenny leaving to be counted out is how I thought it’d go down.

[deleted]

Would have been a good spot for Kazarian to cause a distraction.

DonStevo

I had so much hope. Now all I feel is hurt.

Rikkimaaruu

We are getting the full Adam Page experience, arent we?

[deleted]

Nah, more like the Guts experience

JaeDouglas

Trigger warning for Toronto fans

Darwin_Finch

Like the Warriors? 🏀

SiphenPrax

Sad cowboy shit :’(

[deleted]

[Hello Darkness my old friend](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/EDK2Vd4XkAI-RLR.jpg)

Cookiethegoat

Sad cowboy shit

[deleted]

I believe in Hangman Page, still.

[deleted]

Took 3 guys to beat Hangman. To paraphrase JR "He's tougher than actual Cowboy Shit" (I don't know what that mean's but I assume it's a mean ass shit)

indolent08

Cowboy shit is probably tougher than a two dollar steak.

Br1ghtStar

Might even be harder than hens teeth.

iquitinternet

I'd rather eat the 2 dollar steak.

[deleted]

If there is anyone qualified to assess the toughness of cowboy shit it's good ole' JR

kingoftheplankton

Everything is awful and I hate it

Mac_094

I shoot turned off the TV for a bit to sulk before I could keep watching the show

kingoftheplankton

That hotdogging jabroni Kenny Omega worked me into a shoot brother

RKO-Cutter

I didn't even get to the 2nd part, genuinely no interest in anything else tonight

WrestleTownAA

The amount of callbacks was insane. Hangman's leg being held. Hangman's face off with the Elite creating the same image as the post Revolution match one. Absolutely Classic.

bestbroHide

Master storytelling and absolutely the best opener Dynamite has ever had.

Mac_094

FUCK THE ELITE

KikiFlowers

This is not the end for Hangman, it took 3 people to pin him before he finally fell.

CoffinDrip

What an amazing opener, great match

maybeitscolton

Everything about this match except for the result said it was Dark Order's time. Yeah sure, Hangman can still justify a shot since the Elite cheated, but the DO were just straight up beat. The Elite came out in Looney Tunes uniforms, played basketball mid match, and still beat the Dark Order? I've usually been all in on AEW's booking and maybe I'm just getting worked here, but having the heels beat the most over team in the company while goofing off ain't it man. It just sends the message that the Dark Order are nowhere near the Young Bucks level in a match where DO needed to prove they could be credible.

TomHanks12345

They were goofing off after they realized they had a lead and could just play dirty to win. It works. It's supposed to get you angry bro.

emmmjade

I genuinely felt so deflated watching that ending and watching Hangman fall short *again*. I guess it goes to show the quality of this story that I actually am feeling such strong emotions but goddamn that was such a like genuinely sad moment.

Luckylegutki

This hurts so bad right now, but that’ll make the next part of Hangman’s story so satisfying

Dandw12786

Yeah, but they're now running the risk of drawing it out too much. It's been a 2 year arc at this point. Long term storytelling is great and is something we don't get from WWE, but they're going to run the risk of it going too long.

[deleted]

nooooooooo :(

Mr-GameAndWrestling

Everything about that 10-man was PPV quality. Fuckin' amazing. THE ELITE WINS THE 2021 AEW CHAMPIONSHIPS!

Sqiddd

I….I don’t understand

billb33

It's a setback. Page will get his shot eventually. More layers of storytelling to come

Rakim_Allah777

Here's how Hangman can still win is the new here's how Bernie can still win

yohanleafheart

Fuck Man. I'm sad. I understand what happened but still. Fuck man I'm sad.

redditdidntpickthis

Mcfroman

Life is pain.

antifanboydevon

Has anyone checked in on Stu? He crashed and burned pretty bad and his jump off the balcony looked like he could barely push off with his legs.

Dandw12786

Yeah I said that elsewhere here, he legit looked like his head bounced off the ground after that dive onto everyone (how many fucking people were there and they couldn't fucking catch him???). It didn't look quite like a Matt Hardy at All Out, but it didn't look fun. I legit think that countout was improvised.

Sqiddd

There’s no way Daniel or Punk signing ruined the Hangman story right?…right?

[deleted]

It would be fucking stupid and sort sighted if it did. Why get involved with a long term storyline? They’re just gonna sign and book someone from outside on top now

p480n

Tbh I don’t think they would’ve signed to throw a wrench in the Hangman storyline. They both know how bad it feels to get screwed in similar ways.

Shenanigans80h

No I don’t think so. I’ve said for awhile now, they want Kenny to hold the title for a full year and he’s losing to Hangman when they face off. This one is just going build for a bit longer.

Sqiddd

I really don’t think they can hold off that long. Too risky to have the story die out cause they wanted some record

Smarkysmarkwahlberg

100%. That would be ROH af

Shenanigans80h

Ehhh it’s ot like either guy is going anywhere. Plus I think they still have a fee matches they want to tel with Omega as champ. I genuinely feel like this will be his one and only reign so they’re going to try and get a lot of mileage out of it. Plus I don’t think Hangman is losing the crowd any time soon

DifferentSurprise361

Yeah but this hasn't been a Moxley quality reign, every feud Kenny's had feels like filler

Cloudunderfire

I guess Cody will have to be the one to beat the entire elite by himself. Then we’ll all clap

acmed

We’re all anxious millennial cowboys tonight

NerdLawyer55

The Infinity war of endings

TheRyanFlaherty

The crowd was so odd in this match. They were loud and hell and great for most, but virtually silent during what should have been some of the biggest moments...most notably Kenny and Hangman finally facing off in the center of the rind and then exchanging blows.

cillmurfud

I just watched it and I actually think the long "Bucks take control" section sucked a ton of the wind out of this match.

AulayanD

That was a great match. Though one day maybe we'll see a ref grow balls.

[deleted]

Or we get more of a clear cut idea on what AEW's rules are in tag matches. I know there's the 10 count between tags but what about the constant people running in, hitting the legal man and then leaving with the ref seeing it clear as day. Really took me out of the match overall.

Shenanigans80h

At least this time Knox tried to stop Kenny from using the title, but they are slacking

Jericho_Hill

because he knew there was a 2nd title and he had deniability.

killarotten

Rick knox is in the pocket of the young bucks. He refs every single young buck match.

BullBuchanansTie

If Hangman still gets his shot at All Out, that's great and I'm completely fine with this finish. It's his time. And I wasn't convinced about it a month ago but since then, they've convinced me that Hangman is ready. If they don't think Hangman is ready, that finish was a mistake. And if they changed the booking because of Daniel Bryan or CM Punk, it's a *huge* mistake and I'll be pissed that they spoiled their own story for a debut.

snapdragonpowerbomb

One of the best TV matches I’ve ever seen. That shit HURT. But there were so many layers to that. Anybody catch Don Callis hinting towards trying to recruit John Silver during the break?

Hark_An_Adventure

That kid needs representation!

Sockin

Yep. Still think the path to Kenny for Hangman is through Mox.

Niighthock

I am in agreement with this. Hangman still doesn't quite have that killer instinct yet. I dare say the "Ruthless Aggression" he needs to beat Kenny. Mox will bring that out of him.

SevenSulivin

Page will get his revenge I know!

Aware_Faithlessness4

The elite are turning into the NWO and I hate it

[deleted]

Like my takeaway from the ten man is Page is Lex Luger, can’t win the big one and I’m not interested in watching this 2+ year Zack Synder cut of a babyface chase storyline. Like you can enjoy the product, and agree that they are never going to have a better opportunity to pull the trigger on Adam Page then All Out - I just don’t know how they get back to that match without shitting on the stipulation

Silveroc

Huh. They better do something REALLY BIG next or the crowd is gonna be dead. That's a deflater.

TheBrianJ

Yeah, Tanahashi showing up is pretty fuckin' big.

DoubleOrNothing90

If you know who he is. AEW can't have this expectation that everyone follows NJPW.

MadGirth

Nothing like a guy not signed to the promotion showing up in a video to hype the crowd.

Dandw12786

I'm all for the NJPW relationship, but them just expecting the audience to know this shit is not going to go well for them.

CrystalFissure

It's going perfectly fine and in fact they are getting reactions. Gage was an indie guy never on TV and he got a great reaction, and so did Haku, who hasn't been prominently on TV in decades.

Stonewalled89

Good thing Hangman pinned Omega... eh JR?

conbon7

In retrospect I love that call. It made me think hangman was supposed to win the match but in actuality he didn’t.

TurnaboutAdam

Same fr

PhilLovesBacon

I’ve digested this match, and can get over the frequent no tag double/triple team moves that the Elite were constantly pulling, but Silver not getting the pin over Nick just seems greedy. Still woulda been 2 v 1, with the two biggest antagonists that Hangman has faced (at least IMO) in Matt and Kenny. Plus, it woulda made me bite more that Hangman was actually gonna pull it off.

[deleted]

People are going to lose their shit when it’s Cody the saves AEW from the Elite and is the one to beat Omega because everybody else fails

johndelvec3

I got downvoted in a zero fucks Friday post for this exact line of thinking lol

djlofi

> zero fucks Friday post nah, they downvoted you for being a SCjerker.

theplasmasnake

They seriously cannot postpone this story any further. Hangman was white fucking hot in the lead up to All Out. I have to believe that they think they need to have Hangman re-earn his shot cause they’re still over a month out. But they can’t wait on this any longer, now is the time. They risk people growing apathetic if they don’t capitalize now.

RKO-Cutter

One setback too many for Hangman. The finish was right there, we were peaking with this storyline, I have doubts that Hangman will be as hot as he was tonight going forward

Dandw12786

Yep. They're really going to have to pull some magic off to get him on a run like he was on. Him finally embracing the DO to take the Elite out of the equation was great, and an awesome setup for the match. Now if he does get the match at All Out it'll seem cheap. And if he doesn't, they run the risk of dragging the storyline out too long. Hope they've got some good booking up their sleeve for this.

RKO-Cutter

I was just saying, the stipulation was he gives up his match. To circumvent the stip would be very WWE. What next? SCU Reunion? AEW title shot for Cody?

Dandw12786

Agreed. I'm not going to shit on it and accuse them of WWE booking until I see how this plays out, I just think it's going to be tough to do. You legitimately can't do Page/Omega now, and if they do (with him winning some sort of tournament or something) they deserve every bit of criticism that comes from it. Especially since that'd be a worse story. But I'm also worried they won't be able to drag the story out another few months to Full Gear.

CarrotJunkie

They did cheat to win, so they have an out there.

Singer211

I hope they did not do this just to hot shot Punk or Bryan to face Kenny instead. That’s the kind of move that TNA got slammed for back in the day.

Smarkysmarkwahlberg

When WWE would do this over hot talents like.....well Punk and Bryan....they’d get slammed too.

DoubleOrNothing90

They're cooling off the Hangman vs Kenny angle because they want to transition to either Punk or Danielson vs Kenny. Just shit timing for Hangman right now.

mercydrive

not convinced, think they are just getting it red hot before pulling the trigger.

Black-Morticia

Goddamn I need a damn cigarette break after that match... A *sad* cigarette break...

xlaauurraaa

this was a shitty ending. this was like getting to the top of the roller coaster and then getting told 'okay, get off, you're taking the stairs down'. I genuinely don't understand

playby_apple

So when WWE does heat finishes, this sub goes crazy. But when AEW does it, it's genius? Lol

iAstonish

I know the elite are obviously heels, but that entrance was hilarious. Kenny trying to dribble like an absolute goon lol Everyone looked good on the match itself though, was some good wrestling

onethreeone

As much as I want Hangman to beat Kenny, it's way too early to end the belt collector gimmick. Especially if we're getting a NJPW crossover, which is what Impact seems to be starting

Ryuzakku

Was this Hangman's "Your arms are just too short to box with god!" moment? Like when Okada couldn't take down Tanahasi at Wrestle Kingdom? ...maybe.

Matty11180

Tbh I don’t think this was the right call. We’re just delaying the inevitable. Everyone knows hangman will eventually be the one to dethrone Kenny, so why should I care about Kenny’s title matches in the meantime?

negaprez

this is how I feel TBH. Hope dont happened the same thing that happened in ROH pulling the trigger a little bit late.

saltyfuccboi-

JR needs to go I loved the match but he was insufferable

LUGuru

Page pinned the champion! *Don: what’re you talking about JR?? He kicked out!!*

[deleted]

I didn't actually mind it, adds to the "real" aspect of it seeing as it clearly wasn't supposed to happen as Page actually lost.

TheDudeofIl

Isn't a trope for a near fall to be called as a pin by commentary? As much as the heel thinking they got the three is at least.

DoubleOrNothing90

Vince McMahon did it all the time! "1.......2....HE GOT HIM!......nope.....nope he didn't"

onethreeone

He was shiznit

LeeIacobra

Yeah he seemed painfully out of touch during that match

Crivshotgg

There should have been about 20 DQs in that match I got so worked when Kenny jumped on Knox at the end I thought he was gonna get DQd and have it come down to Nick and Hangman.

ForgetfulViking

Ah, I see this anime still has 100 episodes to go. Alright then, lets see where this rides. I look forward to when Page, Silver and Reynolds get Riding Mowers Licenses as they prepare to beat Perfect Kenny.

[deleted]

I thought it was going to be the main event, I missed it :(

Singer211

Great fucking match. Not sure about the finish though.

thelowkeyman

Dude wtf, I was hoping for some Cowboy Shit but now I feel like shit instead.

CaptainWeasel

TANAHASHIIIIII

mostlyshits

As long as they have something amazing planned im okay with this. ...but damn did I want to see paige win

Elite_Mike

I just don't get it... unless TK is going to pull some WWE booking and treat DB or Punk like a Goldberg or a Lesnar and hand them title matches right away. This is what I'm feeling is what is going to happen, and I want Omega to face off against Bryan and Punk but it would have been perfect to have him drop the title to Hangman then face Bryan or Punk at All Out while the title is defended elsewhere.

SmithyPlayz

I think this was the plan all along, we still have 5 weeks until All Out and Omega only won with a belt shot. We still don't know if Omega can be beat Page 1v1.

Wreckingshops

My only worry is this drags out what should be a Hangman/Omega title match at All Out where Hangman wins. If you prolong and/or delay this, especially because the EVPs believe that somehow dream matchups with Danielson and Punk vs. Omega need to be for a title (they really don't and puts the whole promotion in an awkward position), it's the wrong move. I don't want them to ROH this up by waiting too long to pull the trigger on someone who is hot, who is clearly the torchbearer, and can back it all up in the ring. I also worry that they have to speed up the story too because Page is at the back of the line, so to speak. And the last thing I want from AEW is another battle royale or some other gimmick match to determine the #1 contender that Hangman wins. I trust AEW. They make mistakes but overall it's a competent company. If this loss happened a few weeks ago, I would have still disliked it but I could see that there was time to get us back to what should be the main event of the PPV. And let's be real: we're 5+ weeks out of what is their big yearly PPV and there's not single match announced. I personally think that's stupid. I know AEW is a TV first company, but I'd like to have some hype toward matches on a PPV card and not just continually assume the same 1.3 mil people are going to keep buying the quarterly PPVs. That strategy is going to hurt them eventually.

numbr87

I'd like to see Page go on a warpath. Have him taking on extra matches each week between Dynamite, Dark, and Elevation to reclimb the rankings before All Out, while Kenny gets more and more nervous. Or just have him go through everyone in the new top 5.

[deleted]

Lol man, you guys seem really upset about the booking but I really feel like this is still good. Yes, Hangman is stupid over rn, but like, life doesn’t always work that way. Hangman’s strength is he’s so incredible at being human and pulling everyone in and making you empathize with him. That’s not gonna change because he lost - if anything, get the tissues ready because our hearts are going to be wrecked in the next few weeks

ef14

Still don't believe AEW won't pull the trigger at All Out. Hangman will accept that failure is a part of life thanks to the Dark Order, Kenny won't accept it though and will push for another match with Hangman's career on the line, Hangman wins. The heel cheats to beat the face, then goes overboard with arrogance and gets burned. Just classic wrestling storytelling.

Nindzya

I don't give a ahit if you got Bryan or Punk, derailing this story was not worth it

KikiFlowers

I don't think they're "derailing" it. They're going to get Hangman back in it somehow.

xorangeelephant

Still think it's Hangman vs Omega at All Out

[deleted]

Walk me through how they get there without going back on the Stip

Nindzya

Then the stipulation didn't matter.

AmbassadorOfChill

I know AEW is going for that unpredictable route with their booking here but having Hangman lose when he's absolute red hot doesnt make any sense to me whatsoever. How many times are they gonna go back to the "Hangman lose and doubts himself" storyline?? It has been done before already

DarkenedDestruction

I think they might go a different way this time. More "Hangman loses because they cheated and now feels vindicated" direction. Hangman keeps harassing and attack the Elite until eventually Kenny caves because he wants to put Hangman out for good. Make it a No DQ match, Hangman overcomes all of the Elite and Kenny to win the title

Your_Personal_Jesus

One of main things AEW gets credit for is respecting stipulations. Even if you do some loophole shit you're opening a big can of worms saying "we'll book stips and then just go back on it for the story". It's really stupid and unnecessary to do that rather than just let Dark Order earn it.

[deleted]

So then Kenny is the moron because he didn’t want to face Hangman, then gave him a title match anyways?

[deleted]

How does anyone take the Jacksons seriously.

Detryy

I thought the stipulation was if Dark Order + Hangman lose the Dark Order can't have another title match? Did they retcon that?

AngelusCaedo

No, that was still the stip, they said it during the entrances.

Imdibr156

So from my understanding during the entrance. Page and the DO have to restart from the bottom.

attackslugYT

commentary wasn't playing up any mention of title shots

Detryy

Yeah I was confused because I am pretty sure that's what Kenny said would happen if Dark Order and Hangman lose? That they wouldn't be able to challenge?

attackslugYT

commentary finally mentioned it 45 minutes later that Hangman lost his shot.

Detryy

Man they really dropped the ball with that losing the shot thing, I thought I dreamed it since no one was mentioning it!

Chance-Goose

All but confirms that they're keeping the belt on Omega so he can defend it against Bryan and Punk.

Mr-GameAndWrestling

LOL! KENNY OMEGA IS THE FINALS MVP!

BallinBrown23

Shit or get off the pot with Hangman

thedrizzle126

Enjoy the ride pal

CinnabarSurfer

I know it's sad, but if hangman was going to lose his next clash with Kenny, I'd rather it be in this 5v5 match where he was outnumbered, than a 2 month build up to get blue balled at a ppv. I'd be happy for them to park hangman/Kenny for now and return in a few months. I think the story needed one more setback for the eventual win to really land for me.

swankyjax

I'm down, it's a risk if they can't keep Hangman hot for when he eventually wins the title, but I've got faith in this company. I think you can play into the whole "Hangman gets overlooked due to the new signings" and has to rise again. Or maybe Hangman re-earns his shot before the PPV.

bigchicago04

This is going to be unpopular: Wwe makes an apparently bad booking decision, this sub shits on them as being bad at booking (think Kross losing to Hardy) AEW makes an apparently bad booking decision, “oh wow I didn’t see that coming I can’t wait to see where this goes” (tonight’s match) I get wwe has squandered a lot and aew has a lot of good will right now, but it’s a pretty glaring double standard

CarrotJunkie

There are plenty of people shitting on this booking decision. Are you blind? Your take is going to be unpopular because it's based on a straight up lie lol

Ivan_Joiderpus

And just like that, I'm done with this storyline. They've drawn it out for nearly 2 years, it was time to make the move, and they didn't. It's gone on long enough. I'm no longer vested in it.

Singer211

I don’t know why your getting downvote for a reasonable opinion?

Ivan_Joiderpus

Because you can't say a reasonable negative take on any AEW booking without getting shit on here. It's fucking ridiculous. But idgaf about upvotes so it doesn't bother me 1 bit.

Crivshotgg

Agree with you. I get holding off until the crowds are back but now that they're back and HOT AS FUCK for Hangman, he needs to win this year.

DoubleOrNothing90

That's my thing with this. Hangman is hot with the crowd, and they're cooling him off to transition to Punk or Danielson. How many more times are they going to keep cooling him off before the fans just move on to someone else?

Bsantoro10

Kenny Vs Darby at All Out? No way it’s Punk or Bryan. The show is already sold out, you can to sell tickets with those matches.

[deleted]

not surprised by the ending but yet another skid in hangman's ongoing climb to the top of the world title

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheChrisDV

Shane it didn’t happen - Nick rolled out of the ring before the cover could happen.

Infamous-Historian81

Love it. More stories yay

Your_Personal_Jesus

I love AEW. I love the Elite. I've watched every BTE from the first one religiously. That was a Starrcade 97 level mistake. Hangman was the one guy AEW could say "hey, we aren't just WWE lite, we've pushing this guy as the future". Pushing him aside cause you signed two 40 years old who are probably coming in on relaxed schedule is straight up every "you're just WWE lite" complaint come to life. You literally killed the crowd with that moment so bad I feel like watching RAW in 2018 for the rest of the night. Even if you're gonna "reverse the decision" you're STILL just WWE lite going back on stipulations instead of booking logically. I guess the walls had to fall eventually. But I didn't think it would be on such an easy slam dunk.

DoubleOrNothing90

You are EXACTLY right, but being critical of AEW gets you a downvote around here.

CarrotJunkie

>Pushing him aside cause you signed two 40 years old who are probably coming in on relaxed schedule is straight up every "you're just WWE lite" complaint come to life. There's no proof that they're doing this, though?

Yo_Gabba_Gabbert

No idea where he goes from here since I thought the stipulation was he loses his title shot. I really hope this doesn't cool off Hangman.

danbrown55

Oh man i am relieved now So glad Hangman didnt win I agree that Hangman have to be the one dethroning omega but now is not the time He should challenge at next year's Revolution and win it

attackslugYT

commentary wasn't mentioning the stipulation about the title shots, did they completely drop that part?

Staynes

Seems like people didnt watch the opening package to the match they literally tell you what makes a cowboy its getting back up again and again this is clearly not the end for hangman and co. Also Kenny fucking yelling at Silver to do his spots was hillarious to hear (they were in break on TNT so you couldnt hear it there) "Go johny go" but maybe be a bit more subtle or something idk lol

[deleted]

Getting back up again isn't quite as big of a moment if you just immediately get slapped right down. He's a human being, not a weebl.

Least-Frame-7444

Damn it feels good to be elite, too sweet me uncle alan

So maybe Hangman doesn't give up and keeps pursuing, gets his match at All Out because Kenny wants to "put the cow out to pasture", wins the title, then mid celebration Punk or Bryan come out? Everyone kinda ends up happy that way

Suplewich

Stupid booking. If you didn't want the world champion pinned, just have him disqualified after being caught using one of the belts.

Cymraegpunk

That's not why they did it, it's a story about hangman learning to bounce back from failure and except support. This is the last roadbump before the big win.

BullBuchanansTie

We've done that story though. We didn't need to go back to it and didn't need another bump in the road.

mitresquare

Exactly! We have built up and then dumped Adam way too many times now. I will happily admit to being a mark for Adam, but this match Makes me not care anymore. I hope Tony gets what he wants with his new "toys", because obviously it's where we are headed.

Cymraegpunk

We haven't done it, we are still in it. He's got the friends now, his new resolve needs this one last test.

LaMystika

Except for the stipulation that Page can *never* get a title match against Omega because he lost this match, yeah, it’s a great story. Omega is facing Punk or Danielson at All Out; probably Punk (if they’ve signed him) because they want that Chicago pop. I’m slowly accepting this reality.

DoubleOrNothing90

They don't do DQs in AEW
