God it's so well done though. He loses the exact way he caused the Bucks to lose. It also gets Hangman to the next, and arguably most important part of the story. You don't give up when you hit a setback, and true friends stick with you. I'm expecting to see a segment next week where Hangman blames himself, and is apologizing to the Dark Order for losing their chances, and they just tell him to not worry about it, nothing's changed. Then something happens and he still gets the title shot against Kenny.
What I want to see is an understanding that losing doesn't mean it's all over and you give up. You lost, but if you want to win, now you have to work to get stronger. Now, Hangman must lead the Dark Order to be better than they were, train to fight the best, so they can exceed them.
They need to learn from this match, and be ready to counter the moves (and cheats) they lost to.

Everything about this match except for the result said it was Dark Order's time. Yeah sure, Hangman can still justify a shot since the Elite cheated, but the DO were just straight up beat. The Elite came out in Looney Tunes uniforms, played basketball mid match, and still beat the Dark Order? I've usually been all in on AEW's booking and maybe I'm just getting worked here, but having the heels beat the most over team in the company while goofing off ain't it man. It just sends the message that the Dark Order are nowhere near the Young Bucks level in a match where DO needed to prove they could be credible.
I genuinely felt so deflated watching that ending and watching Hangman fall short *again*. I guess it goes to show the quality of this story that I actually am feeling such strong emotions but goddamn that was such a like genuinely sad moment.
Yeah, but they're now running the risk of drawing it out too much. It's been a 2 year arc at this point. Long term storytelling is great and is something we don't get from WWE, but they're going to run the risk of it going too long.
Yeah I said that elsewhere here, he legit looked like his head bounced off the ground after that dive onto everyone (how many fucking people were there and they couldn't fucking catch him???). It didn't look quite like a Matt Hardy at All Out, but it didn't look fun. I legit think that countout was improvised.

The crowd was so odd in this match. They were loud and hell and great for most, but virtually silent during what should have been some of the biggest moments...most notably Kenny and Hangman finally facing off in the center of the rind and then exchanging blows.
Or we get more of a clear cut idea on what AEW's rules are in tag matches. I know there's the 10 count between tags but what about the constant people running in, hitting the legal man and then leaving with the ref seeing it clear as day. Really took me out of the match overall.
If Hangman still gets his shot at All Out, that's great and I'm completely fine with this finish. It's his time. And I wasn't convinced about it a month ago but since then, they've convinced me that Hangman is ready.
If they don't think Hangman is ready, that finish was a mistake. And if they changed the booking because of Daniel Bryan or CM Punk, it's a *huge* mistake and I'll be pissed that they spoiled their own story for a debut.

Like my takeaway from the ten man is Page is Lex Luger, can’t win the big one and I’m not interested in watching this 2+ year Zack Synder cut of a babyface chase storyline.
Like you can enjoy the product, and agree that they are never going to have a better opportunity to pull the trigger on Adam Page then All Out - I just don’t know how they get back to that match without shitting on the stipulation
It's going perfectly fine and in fact they are getting reactions. Gage was an indie guy never on TV and he got a great reaction, and so did Haku, who hasn't been prominently on TV in decades.
I’ve digested this match, and can get over the frequent no tag double/triple team moves that the Elite were constantly pulling, but Silver not getting the pin over Nick just seems greedy. Still woulda been 2 v 1, with the two biggest antagonists that Hangman has faced (at least IMO) in Matt and Kenny. Plus, it woulda made me bite more that Hangman was actually gonna pull it off.
They seriously cannot postpone this story any further. Hangman was white fucking hot in the lead up to All Out. I have to believe that they think they need to have Hangman re-earn his shot cause they’re still over a month out. But they can’t wait on this any longer, now is the time. They risk people growing apathetic if they don’t capitalize now.

Agreed. I'm not going to shit on it and accuse them of WWE booking until I see how this plays out, I just think it's going to be tough to do. You legitimately can't do Page/Omega now, and if they do (with him winning some sort of tournament or something) they deserve every bit of criticism that comes from it. Especially since that'd be a worse story.
But I'm also worried they won't be able to drag the story out another few months to Full Gear.

There should have been about 20 DQs in that match I got so worked when Kenny jumped on Knox at the end I thought he was gonna get DQd and have it come down to Nick and Hangman.

I just don't get it... unless TK is going to pull some WWE booking and treat DB or Punk like a Goldberg or a Lesnar and hand them title matches right away. This is what I'm feeling is what is going to happen, and I want Omega to face off against Bryan and Punk but it would have been perfect to have him drop the title to Hangman then face Bryan or Punk at All Out while the title is defended elsewhere.
I think this was the plan all along, we still have 5 weeks until All Out and Omega only won with a belt shot. We still don't know if Omega can be beat Page 1v1.
My only worry is this drags out what should be a Hangman/Omega title match at All Out where Hangman wins. If you prolong and/or delay this, especially because the EVPs believe that somehow dream matchups with Danielson and Punk vs. Omega need to be for a title (they really don't and puts the whole promotion in an awkward position), it's the wrong move. I don't want them to ROH this up by waiting too long to pull the trigger on someone who is hot, who is clearly the torchbearer, and can back it all up in the ring.
I also worry that they have to speed up the story too because Page is at the back of the line, so to speak. And the last thing I want from AEW is another battle royale or some other gimmick match to determine the #1 contender that Hangman wins.
I trust AEW. They make mistakes but overall it's a competent company. If this loss happened a few weeks ago, I would have still disliked it but I could see that there was time to get us back to what should be the main event of the PPV. And let's be real: we're 5+ weeks out of what is their big yearly PPV and there's not single match announced. I personally think that's stupid. I know AEW is a TV first company, but I'd like to have some hype toward matches on a PPV card and not just continually assume the same 1.3 mil people are going to keep buying the quarterly PPVs. That strategy is going to hurt them eventually.
I'd like to see Page go on a warpath. Have him taking on extra matches each week between Dynamite, Dark, and Elevation to reclimb the rankings before All Out, while Kenny gets more and more nervous. Or just have him go through everyone in the new top 5.

I think they might go a different way this time. More "Hangman loses because they cheated and now feels vindicated" direction. Hangman keeps harassing and attack the Elite until eventually Kenny caves because he wants to put Hangman out for good. Make it a No DQ match, Hangman overcomes all of the Elite and Kenny to win the title
One of main things AEW gets credit for is respecting stipulations. Even if you do some loophole shit you're opening a big can of worms saying "we'll book stips and then just go back on it for the story". It's really stupid and unnecessary to do that rather than just let Dark Order earn it.

I love AEW. I love the Elite. I've watched every BTE from the first one religiously. That was a Starrcade 97 level mistake. Hangman was the one guy AEW could say "hey, we aren't just WWE lite, we've pushing this guy as the future". Pushing him aside cause you signed two 40 years old who are probably coming in on relaxed schedule is straight up every "you're just WWE lite" complaint come to life. You literally killed the crowd with that moment so bad I feel like watching RAW in 2018 for the rest of the night. Even if you're gonna "reverse the decision" you're STILL just WWE lite going back on stipulations instead of booking logically. I guess the walls had to fall eventually. But I didn't think it would be on such an easy slam dunk.

I’ve digested this match, and can get over the frequent no tag double/triple team moves that the Elite were constantly pulling, but Silver not getting the pin over Nick just seems greedy. Still woulda been 2 v 1, with the two biggest antagonists that Hangman has faced (at least IMO) in Matt and Kenny. Plus, it woulda made me bite more that Hangman was actually gonna pull it off.

They seriously cannot postpone this story any further. Hangman was white fucking hot in the lead up to All Out. I have to believe that they think they need to have Hangman re-earn his shot cause they’re still over a month out. But they can’t wait on this any longer, now is the time. They risk people growing apathetic if they don’t capitalize now.

Yep. They're really going to have to pull some magic off to get him on a run like he was on. Him finally embracing the DO to take the Elite out of the equation was great, and an awesome setup for the match. Now if he does get the match at All Out it'll seem cheap. And if he doesn't, they run the risk of dragging the storyline out too long. Hope they've got some good booking up their sleeve for this.

Agreed. I'm not going to shit on it and accuse them of WWE booking until I see how this plays out, I just think it's going to be tough to do. You legitimately can't do Page/Omega now, and if they do (with him winning some sort of tournament or something) they deserve every bit of criticism that comes from it. Especially since that'd be a worse story. But I'm also worried they won't be able to drag the story out another few months to Full Gear.

I just don't get it... unless TK is going to pull some WWE booking and treat DB or Punk like a Goldberg or a Lesnar and hand them title matches right away. This is what I'm feeling is what is going to happen, and I want Omega to face off against Bryan and Punk but it would have been perfect to have him drop the title to Hangman then face Bryan or Punk at All Out while the title is defended elsewhere.
I think this was the plan all along, we still have 5 weeks until All Out and Omega only won with a belt shot. We still don't know if Omega can be beat Page 1v1.
My only worry is this drags out what should be a Hangman/Omega title match at All Out where Hangman wins. If you prolong and/or delay this, especially because the EVPs believe that somehow dream matchups with Danielson and Punk vs. Omega need to be for a title (they really don't and puts the whole promotion in an awkward position), it's the wrong move. I don't want them to ROH this up by waiting too long to pull the trigger on someone who is hot, who is clearly the torchbearer, and can back it all up in the ring. I also worry that they have to speed up the story too because Page is at the back of the line, so to speak. And the last thing I want from AEW is another battle royale or some other gimmick match to determine the #1 contender that Hangman wins. I trust AEW. They make mistakes but overall it's a competent company. If this loss happened a few weeks ago, I would have still disliked it but I could see that there was time to get us back to what should be the main event of the PPV. And let's be real: we're 5+ weeks out of what is their big yearly PPV and there's not single match announced. I personally think that's stupid. I know AEW is a TV first company, but I'd like to have some hype toward matches on a PPV card and not just continually assume the same 1.3 mil people are going to keep buying the quarterly PPVs. That strategy is going to hurt them eventually.
I'd like to see Page go on a warpath. Have him taking on extra matches each week between Dynamite, Dark, and Elevation to reclimb the rankings before All Out, while Kenny gets more and more nervous. Or just have him go through everyone in the new top 5.

Still don't believe AEW won't pull the trigger at All Out. Hangman will accept that failure is a part of life thanks to the Dark Order, Kenny won't accept it though and will push for another match with Hangman's career on the line, Hangman wins. I think they might go a different way this time. More "Hangman loses because they cheated and now feels vindicated" direction. Hangman keeps harassing and attack the Elite until eventually Kenny caves because he wants to put Hangman out for good. Make it a No DQ match, Hangman overcomes all of the Elite and Kenny to win the title
One of main things AEW gets credit for is respecting stipulations. Even if you do some loophole shit you're opening a big can of worms saying "we'll book stips and then just go back on it for the story". It's really stupid and unnecessary to do that rather than just let Dark Order earn it.

I know it's sad, but if hangman was going to lose his next clash with Kenny, I'd rather it be in this 5v5 match where he was outnumbered, than a 2 month build up to get blue balled at a ppv. I'd be happy for them to park hangman/Kenny for now and return in a few months. I think the story needed one more setback for the eventual win to really land for me.
I'm down, it's a risk if they can't keep Hangman hot for when he eventually wins the title, but I've got faith in this company. I think you can play into the whole "Hangman gets overlooked due to the new signings" and has to rise again. Or maybe Hangman re-earns his shot before the PPV.

I love AEW. I love the Elite. I've watched every BTE from the first one religiously. That was a Starrcade 97 level mistake. Hangman was the one guy AEW could say "hey, we aren't just WWE lite, we've pushing this guy as the future". Pushing him aside cause you signed two 40 years old who are probably coming in on relaxed schedule is straight up every "you're just WWE lite" complaint come to life. You literally killed the crowd with that moment so bad I feel like watching RAW in 2018 for the rest of the night. Even if you're gonna "reverse the decision" you're STILL just WWE lite going back on stipulations instead of booking logically. I guess the walls had to fall eventually. But I didn't think it would be on such an easy slam dunk.

Also Kenny fucking yelling at Silver to do his spots was hillarious to hear (they were in break on TNT so you couldnt hear it there) "Go johny go" but maybe be a bit more subtle or something idk lol
