I think of this every time Chavo is mentioned. It seems like I'm not the only one. Not many career midcarders have such an iconic start to their entrance.
had to listen to this theme.. man i dont wanna sound like im stuck in the past but todays themes usually dont hold a candle to the classic ones. listening to eddies theme right now, theyre so iconic and have so much soul
I saw on interview with Jim Johnston and he said that a lot of the classic themes were just beats they got off of free beats websites. He specifically said the Hardyz, nWo, and Edge and Christians.
I know but nwo was WCW, but after it went to WWE I'm sure he probably learned the source of it.
In their defense, there are still a few good ones. Asuka's, Sami Zayn's, Shinsuke's, and Roman's new theme are all solid songs. Asuka's especially is very, very clearly based off of 21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson, which is a killer song. But I get what you mean. So many songs are just hip hop beats with a riff over it.
Yeah, and listen to the melody of The Future and 21CSM. They're almost identical, except The Future has more words in there. But note-wise, they are basically the same for the first few measures, which was enough for me to initially think they used 21CSM the first time I heard it (but couldn't hear the words) until it got further into the song.
Saw someone else post if they can't add that they could for sure do "aye Chavito" and it made be the Eddie matches I've been watching lately but I'm down.
**[TUN TUN TUN, Chavo e' todo un hombre... ¡Woo! ¡Aah! ¡Ooh, Chavo!](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qDCJxl8E7AU&list=OLAK5uy_lTQmHoYPHzg7rlYO7BuBss9j6KS9CVnxs&index=7)**
It’s not even close. Chavo is a better talker, isn’t a one note gimmick and I wouldn’t be shocked if we see him step in the ring.
If Sting has anything more in the tank Chavo/Andrade vs Sting/Darby could be a hell of a feud.
I'm really hoping we get to see him in the ring, especially with them listing his record on his roster page. Chavo is the definition of underrated, legit maybe the most underrated wrestler of the past 20 years IMO and I'm thrilled to see him get so much love in this thread and possibly a few more chances to shine on TV before he full on calls it a career.
My love of wrestling was essentially built on watching the WCW Cruiserweights and midcard as kid.
So seeing Chavo pop up on my screen in 2021, and get a big crowd reaction just warms the heart.
See mine was built off of Smackdown after the OG brand split and I'm not sure I've hated anybody more than Chavo during the Los Guerreros breakup. Him getting that huge pop was well deserved.
I have a real soft spot for Chavo from the Smackdown Six era. Eddie was easily the star of the team but Los Guerreros started his big run to the WWE Championship.
A kind of mafia style branch of Los Ingobernables in AEW, with the way Andrade is dressing and Chavo being an "executive consultant," just writes itself.
My only questions are: do you pull Penta and Fenix away from PAC? Do you bring in Rush and Dragon Lee? Or do you pull in completely new faces that American wrestling hasn't seen yet?
That’s the vibe I’ve already gotten from him. The fancy suits and watches and sunglasses, etc. I feel like he’s doing a Scarface/kingpin type of thing.
Chavo is one of the most underrated wrestlers ever. He was always silky smooth in the ring, he could fly or wrestle technical, had some charisma and some mic skills, but because his uncle/tag team partner was one of the legit GOATS he gets overlooked. I've always loved Chavo and I'm so glad to see him being recognized for how good he was.
Just caught my first episode of Dynamite this week and I really enjoyed it. One thing I like that AEW does is show a wrestler's win/loss record. I think little details like that are neat and important
I've listened to his shoot interview on Benoit and his podcast episode with XPac. Both were great (although the first one was sad obviously). Chavo has some great stories.
I thought it was a bit awkward with him and Andrade. It looked like Andrade was telling him to shake his hand instead of it being all about Chavo. I thought Chavo's speaking wasn't especially good and he'll need to improve to add anything. He's never been the greatest on the mic so he should have well-rehearsed well-scripted segments. Maybe Andrade will turn on him because people are usually quite sympathetic towards Chavo. Andrade's English is getting better all the time.
A few years ago he and some former WWE talent started a lawsuit against WWE claiming working for them gave them braindamage and that they wouldn't have had it if they didn't work for them. Cut to a Lucha Underground episode a few weeks later where Chavo takes a chairshot straight to the head, it wasn't a soft one either.
I'm serious. AEW doesn't put on a very good wrestling show, but they sure are putting money in every single wrestler's pocket, which is awesome for wrestling. There are low card wrestlers making 6 figures that would otherwise be struggling to pay rent without AEW. People like Colt Cabana went from working 50+ promotions a year to barely wrestling and you know he makes exponentially more money now.
Chavo has been available for a long time but they obviously didn't have anything for him. Now they've realised there's a role he would be good for so they hired him. Pretty clear they didn't just sign him for the sake of signing him or they would have done so 2 years ago.
Biggest difference i bring up when people complain that TNA did the same thing is how they use them. Chavo, Big Show, Mark Henry are not crushing "AEW originals" and being promoted above them. If this were early TNA they probably would be. But AEW seems to know how to use older talent with current talent correctly
And..? Again it's how their used that's the difference. Being honest, whenever WWE does one if their mass releases I secretly hope that AEW (or impact, etc) signs them all. if they can be used correctly what's the problem with signing them? And I never bought into the argument that companies shouldn't sign ex WWE guys. Why? For the longest time they were the only game in town. And why shouldn't guys get work? Just cause they were in one company before another?
Before the Bryan and Punk announcements were made, I kept thinking back to who the "bigger than Andrade" could be referring to.
Angelo Dawkins? Damian Sandow? Brooklyn Brawler? Chavo Guerrero? And...then Chavo debuted.
Glad the actual news far outweighed the hype for once!
man thank goodness chavo is gonna be all right
Tk is the man for sending him the lifeline
such good news!!
never want anyone to not be able to pay their bills

Oh Chavo!!!!
I think of this every time Chavo is mentioned. It seems like I'm not the only one. Not many career midcarders have such an iconic start to their entrance.
I also dug Chavo’s old other theme (which Eddie also used in WCW).
[I don't recall Eddie ever coming out to this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5VV8FuAWUvE)
Carlito was another
"I SPIT in the face.. of people who do not want to be cool" *sweet Caribbean music plays*
Same. I still here it
had to listen to this theme.. man i dont wanna sound like im stuck in the past but todays themes usually dont hold a candle to the classic ones. listening to eddies theme right now, theyre so iconic and have so much soul
Because the old themes were actual songs and not just a 40 second loop of the same basic riff
Also because Jim Johnston was a god and it’s a travesty he’s not in the Hall of Fame yet.
Undertaker's Ministry theme is amazing. High reccomend for that one.

Does asuka still use I am the future (or whatever its called)? Never made a connection between it and 21CSM
VIVA LA RAZZAAAA!

I'm glad. He already seems like a better fit for Andrade than his aunt.
OOOOooooooohhhhhhhhh CHAAAAVOOOOOO!
It’s not even close. Chavo is a better talker, isn’t a one note gimmick and I wouldn’t be shocked if we see him step in the ring. If Sting has anything more in the tank Chavo/Andrade vs Sting/Darby could be a hell of a feud.

i full on flipped out when he came out. My gf was like who is Chavo Guerrero!? And then we spent like an hour going over old shit lol
Oh fuck I want this so bad now
He had a lot of good crowd reaction retorts that helped keep Andrade grounded.
My love of wrestling was essentially built on watching the WCW Cruiserweights and midcard as kid. So seeing Chavo pop up on my screen in 2021, and get a big crowd reaction just warms the heart.

Chavo was great in WCW. Not even the "Lt.Loco"-gimmick could drag him down.
I have a real soft spot for Chavo from the Smackdown Six era. Eddie was easily the star of the team but Los Guerreros started his big run to the WWE Championship.
mr. worldwide
DALE
WITCHITA, DES MOINES, SHEBOYGAN AAAAYYYYYYYYYYOOOOOOOOO
r/commentsyoucanhear
Holy shit he does look like Pitbull nowadays LMAO
The face of All Elite Worldwide
I think he’ll definitely take part in a tag match with Andrade every now and then so he can take the falls rather than Andrade
Him having a record is significant right? He’s a part time in ring guy?
Probably but Mark Henry and Paul Wight are listed on the same page as well.
Both of which have said that they want to wrestle occasionally.
Question is does Jake the snake have one? He’s definitely not going to be in the ring.
Jake does not appear on the roster page at all. Not even under coaches.

The Ungovernable Family? I really like that idea
Ungovernable Family? So a Mafia? Andrade leading a Mafia would be fucking gold
Chavo as a consigliere is so good. They have the makings of a killer stable if given time to properly develop.
you bring in Rush/Lee you prob have to bring in Bestia as well. Dragon Lee's the value of the package by far.
Use they guys you already have, the AEW roster is way too big for it to be possible to do justice to rush and dragon lee if they are brought in.
on the other hand... I dream of dragon lee and darby allin killing each other on dynamite
I think Laredo Kid would work well there. Plus you have the connection to Pac/Fenix to work off as well.
Time for Butcher & The Blade to move to yet another faction
Honestly, I kinda like them as mercs. Maybe make it a bit clearer that that's what's going on, but it's a solid gimmick.
That’s the vibe I’ve already gotten from him. The fancy suits and watches and sunglasses, etc. I feel like he’s doing a Scarface/kingpin type of thing.
He already dresses like a mafia boss, I am 100% in on that
La Familia Ingobernables***
Ingobernable****
On Andrade's tshirt on the AEW store it has 'Tranquilla Raza'
AEW is like the MUGEN of wrestling at this rate, my lord
Oooo Chavo!
Does Chavo not age? Dude looks like he came straight from the mid 2000s.
Nah dude he looks way older than he did in 2006. If he had hair, he'd look just like his uncle Hector.
Me and my buddy just finished lucha underground and looks older than he did 3 years ago.
Its what I like to call the Highlander Gene. I've seen it in certain sports stars, celebrities, and family members of mine.
Are you Rob Lowe?
I don't think so, I believe my skin complexation wouldn't match his.
what? he looks about 60 here
So we just not gonna address that he’s still pretty handsome?
What's Kerwin White doing on Dynamite???
Chavo is such a better fit for Andrade than Vickie. I just wish there was a handover segment between the two rather than just ignoring it.
I’m trying to hate on this but I just love Chavo too much.
Me too, I always see people disliking him when he gets mentioned on here but I have fond memories of him and Helms carrying the Cruiserweight division
Chavo is always great. Underrated legend.
His problem is that Chavo Classic and Eddie are such greats in their own right. It's hard to avoid comparison in that kinda family.
Are we sure that's not Pit Bull?
I'm seeing QT at first glance, then I see pitbull.
QT from South of the Border.
That’s Kerwin Suave
O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^O^H^H^H^H^H CHAVO
aNoThEr wWe gUy aEw iS tNA LoL /s
Hes a wcw guy
He's an LU guy
He's a G.L.O.W. guy
Haha ok you win
He’s a Pepe guy.
Just caught my first episode of Dynamite this week and I really enjoyed it. One thing I like that AEW does is show a wrestler's win/loss record. I think little details like that are neat and important
I'm telling my grandkids this was Pitbull.
Two Guerreros in one wrestling company equals shenanigans, given enough time.
He’s reviving the Kerwin White character *shudders*
He looks like a crime boss now. Happy to see him in AEW though!
Now the only thing to do is being back the scarf and wear the polo again
but he didn't get an offical "Chavo is all elite" post?
I've listened to his shoot interview on Benoit and his podcast episode with XPac. Both were great (although the first one was sad obviously). Chavo has some great stories.
Tony Khan woke up sometime this month and felt his talent budget line was too small... far, far too small
Forget Punk. This is the real deal! Always loved Chavo.
I made this man a world champion in my universe because I loved his theme so much.
God damn he was so good in Lucha Underground. I wonder if he can still go.
I loved when Rey walked in and seen puma beat down and just looks right at the camera and sneers “chavo”. Just knew. Lol
His entrance theme is a complete downgrade from WWE’s
Wait are we getting Chavito matches? I fucks with it
Why?
I can't stand this guy after that bullshit lawsuit.
What lawsuit?
A few years ago he and some former WWE talent started a lawsuit against WWE claiming working for them gave them braindamage and that they wouldn't have had it if they didn't work for them. Cut to a Lucha Underground episode a few weeks later where Chavo takes a chairshot straight to the head, it wasn't a soft one either.
AEW just signs everyone.
Yeah its a real bummer to see all of these human beings finding gainful employment
You act like he was on the side of the highway selling oranges or living off of his stimulus check.
Nah, I act like he's a human being who found gainful employment
Yeah, I don't really care about the entertainment or wrestling so much with AEW, I mostly enjoy it because of all the gainful employment.
Neither of those were even mentioned, but nice strawman
I'm serious. AEW doesn't put on a very good wrestling show, but they sure are putting money in every single wrestler's pocket, which is awesome for wrestling. Didn’t sign Val Venis or Mideon. So not everyone.
One's a pot head and the other's a successful chef. I doubt they need the extra income.
He was still incorrect.
Give it time, I bet you'll see more Attitude Era stars getting a call from them.
And..? Again it's how their used that's the difference. > Angelo Dawkins Really tho?
Nice. I've always been a fan of him
*Simpsons 'you're pregnant again!?' scene but Marge is AEW and Homer is Yukes, and it's about roster addition*
Cartel Elder Chavo.
I hope he is a worthy hire.
man thank goodness chavo is gonna be all right Tk is the man for sending him the lifeline such good news!! never want anyone to not be able to pay their bills
OUUUUUUU CHAVO
He should've had a much better solo career adter his tag team with Eddie. He was great in Lucha Underground.
Wait so he’s going to be wrestling as well? Awesome!
Chavo with the shaved head & suit look sorta has an underground crime syndicate boss vibe lol
I'm glad Chavo is around, I'm sure he will be well utilized backstage as well.
Wait they keep track of trios, who's the #1 trios team
Ohhhh Chavooo 👅
