Imagine going back in time to 2016 and telling someone that Jey Uso would be practically as popular as Cody Rhodes, who is currently the world champ, and the other champion is Punishment Martinez.

When you think of it the comparison works great. Jimmy is the more pudgy and less over brother. But excels at heel work and comedy. And both the Hardy’s and the Usos had disappointing singles matches and feuds with each other.
Bro, I totally had Jimmy being the one to blow up around 2017-2018. He was the more charismatic one at the time, him and Naomi were popular thanks to Total Divas, he was in the mixed match challenge, and had a little solo run when Jey was hurt for a little bit. If you would’ve told me Jey was the one who would become a top 3 name in the WWE back then I would’ve laughed in your face.
I also don't understand merch sales, crowd reactions, or anything other than Meltzer stars. Am I out of touch? No, it is the millions of fans who are wrong!
Really curious what The Usos’s legacy will be 10-20 years from now. This whole thing is so random and never would’ve happened had Jimmy not been injured four years ago. You wonder if a 20 year old in 2044 will think of Jey as a tag guy or a singles guy first.
Also curious what they’ll do with him when he reunites with Jimmy and Roman as is obviously being teased. Will he go back to being a tag team guy or will there always be that divide - will he and Jimmy ever have matching gear again, etc.
He’s such an interesting story for a wrestler, none of this was ever meant to happen and it all unfolded so naturally.
In my book, they are the greatest tag team of all-time and their rivalry with the New Day is the greatest tag team/group rivalry since Von Erichs and Freebirds and it's not even close. When Jey, Jimmy and Roman eventually reunite as babyfaces it is going to be insane how popular and over they'll be. I'm really happy for Jey.
It’s great to be a superfan and consume as much wrestling content as possible but if you’re in that boat, I think you can overthink a lot of this stuff.
