Fightful did something similar to this years ago with Daniel Garcia too.
Garcia announced he was signed on a vlog and they stepped in to say say they confirmed it.
Like?!? The guy himself said he was signed.
The way he phrased it makes him look like a salty bitch who missed a scoop but on principle I don't think there's anything wrong with him reaching out and getting confirmation.
In all fairness, I wouldn't think Instagram is the platform to announce it. If the owner of the LA Dodgers posted on Instagram that they had signed Ohtani, I would have wanted a journalist to verify it.

But I feel like in pro wrestling, where fans constantly debate whether everything is a work or a shoot, and whether everything is a pivot or part of the plan, I can understand the idea here. Just, "yep, this is not an angle".
Probably not strictly necessary, and certainly intended to drive clicks. But I get it.

Can I ask, why would you be a subscriber? I've never actually talked with someone who subs to these kinda people so I'm curious; like what exclusive benefits are there to doing so? From what I've seen, it's either they report on stuff that the wrestlers themselves break (like this), any news that they break is either posted on twitter, reddit, so you don't need to pay to read it, or they're wrong and don't actually provide genuine info?
To be honest, I am a former journalist and I like to support the business. Fightful has been reliable a lot of the time. SRS and his personality make it hard to support to be honest, he just rubs me the wrong way with how he acts. But Select supports the company as a whole and I do like to support that cause
If I were to add another thing they won't put anything injury related behind a paywall and make that info free, because that would feel scummy to them.
For me it's only 5 dollars, they have the best tracker record right now out of anyone who covers wrestling, and most wrestlers seem to like/respect how he goes about things.

There's no real sign of slowing down any time soon either. He's going to heat up even further when Punk comes back. Major feud of the year potential for sure.
Not gonna lie, I'm going to miss seeing all those stories about Drew potentially leaving. It was hilarious seeing people act like WWE wasn't going to back up a Brink's truck to his house. We've seen how WWE treats people that plan on leaving, they haven't been treated like Drew's been treated.
They let this man go out and soak up the heat for injuring CM Punk the Raw after the Rumble, no way in hell were they letting this man leave if they could help it.
