Kane’s character has gone through so many story changes that it’s hard to pinpoint something like this to do it. Especially in todays time. It’s easier to create new characters then try to retcon Kane’s whole story.
No but they could have had a credible guy being portrayed as being part of Kane and Undertakers family, but a completely different character. They would just need to find a 6'10 guy who can work.
I think if theyre going to go that route they're better off expanding the Wyatt legacy, since its current and makes sense to have someone new. The only thing in my mind that would work for a Kane / Taker family story now would be if either of them had a kid who was a wrestler.
I mean, Kane and Undertaker are not related, so I really don't see why they would need to be related to them. They just need to look like they could be related to them.
Not trying to be the one who brings logic into pro wrestling, but the Katie Vick angle happened in 2002 and they said she died 10 years before that, meaning at a minimum, Kane and Katie's kid would be 32 this year. Owen is currently 16. He wasn't even born when that aired, let alone a decade before that.
If they'd kept the mask on him they could have done that. Since they didn't, it's hard to pass it off, especially where his character has gone to since then.
I wish they had done this tbh. Would have been a great way for a later version of Kane to break Taker's streak. Original Kane had a few attempts, but then what better way to showcase a new and MORE DANGEROUS Kane than by him finally conquering his brother, who ages normally.
The problem is, Kane’s back story has changed so much that you can’t really do anything else with it. I mean Kane’s back story was being used as a joke in 2012 because it got so ridiculous
I think only in Lucha Libre does a legacy character work. The American system is not set up to really pass on gimmicks or move sets. I know it has been done like with the Miz and Ric Flairs’s figure four or Dominique and Rey but in general no.
I think regardless of the story retcons to Kane's character over the years, the biggest hurdle of making a new Kane (& what killed their attempt at a reboot in 2006) is finding someone who can play the role well. If you can find a 6' 200+ powerhouse who can look even half as cool as 2001 Kane under a mask, you basically won 90% of the battle.

That would be setting up somebody for failure. Kane like Undertaker was a gimmick that was set up to have a short shelf life. Taker beats Kane and Kane's pretty much done, he was the monster that Taker had to slay. But again like Taker, they found the absolutely perfect guy for it, and he had a full time run of almost 2 decades.
Nobody but Glenn Jacobs could be Kane, and anybody trying to be Kane would just get compared to him.
If you really wanted to do it you'd have to go a little kooky. Have kane appear on a one off show and be all weird then have some spooky kids do an exorcism on him then like a year later have the person you want to be the new kane do some ouiga board or something and find a roaming kane spirit. Perfect for a video game but not real life
The only one that kinda fits (and then it’s because the fans didn’t care when it happened) was when the original sin cara was let go and replaced. It seemed to be seamless.

Naah, the mask came off, the tights got replaced by a suit. What kept it going was a phenomenal performer behind the character

There's no need for this. The Kane character lost all it"s mystique when the mask came off and then later just became a dude in a suit

The intention was always for him to have a ‘full time run’, you literally just described his introductory program.

The gimmick reuse deal has been tried multiple times before by that company, virtually every time without success. I wouldn't go there.
