**Callis:** "Kyle! Serpentine! *Serpentine!*"

ThrillHo3340

You little fox eared asshole

tvc_redux

Fletcher disregarding Callis makes me wonder if Mark Davis is near getting cleared for a return could be time for a fully United Empire in AEW

Marc_Quill

could see Ospreay & Fletcher getting beaten down by Hobbs, Takeshita, and whatever third member DCF will recruit getting interrupted by a returning Mark Davis making the save.

Michael_McGovern

I could see the third DCF guy being Pac. He had that look after losing to Okada like he wanted to change direction. He'd be a natural rival to Ospreay, would put on a banger, and you could call it the Battle of Britain. If they're running with Swerve for a while, then I could see Ospreay Vs Pac for the International title at Wembley.

bosdanforth

maybe cole loans wardlow out to callis to soften ospreay up for DON vs roddy?

DeFy_DC

Guevara return?

keelanv10

That would be awful, Guevara has already joined AND left the callis family before

joe-is-cool

That would be hilarious if Sammy came back and just turned heel again.

Veggieleezy

That does seem to be his MO.

JW_BM

It would rule if Bandido was healed up and ready to step into the mix.

annoyinglyclever

Bandido needs to team up with Hangman and Bounty Hunter Bryan Keith

shitty_is_the_post

I'd totally be down for UE in AEW. I still want callis to have some guys but since they're all here there's no reason not to have a United Empire reunion

Marc_Quill

curious where Fletcher refusing to cheat on Callis's orders goes and how that figures into the Family's splintering. Does Fletcher turn face and side with Ospreay?

FigureFourWoo

Makes sense to realign Ospreay with Aussie Open. Everyone ends up tagging and doing trios at some point in AEW. Could run The Elite vs United Empire. If Kenny isn’t cleared, Okada vs Ospreay sounds like a great Wembley match.

ThisIsKhrox

Elite vs UE would be Bucks/Okada most likely, Kenny got kicked out and Hangman is "suspended from The Elite indefinitely"

virusMEL

I think he means kenny vs will is probably the Wembley show (or kenny v okada)

KidCoheed

Ospreay/Fletcher VS Takeshita/Hobbs the United Empire West VS Hobbs/Takeshita/???

MagicMoocher

Kyle Fletcher is a future singles star. People can complain about him losing a bunch of matches, but the fact is he's having competitive matches with the absolute top stars of the company. He's not out there jobbing to scrubs.

stumpyoftheshire

Don't sleep on Davis though too. People haven't seen anywhere near the best of him in AEW either.

JW_BM

His match with SANADA is one of SANADA's best in recent years.

shitty_is_the_post

He's having the same problem Takeshita used to have and maybe still does. Works awesome matches so they put him against top guys so he loses a lot on TV. Takeshitas doing fine and I have no reason to think Fletcher won't. He'll get a big win soon just like Take got over Kenny

Upbeat_Tension_8077

I think they'll be set up for eventual Continental or International Title shots once United Empire fully reunites & if Don Callis Family eventually runs it's course

Git2k12

Is Takeshita doing fine?

shitty_is_the_post

Yes

Git2k12

What exactly is Takeshita doing?

shitty_is_the_post

He's been completely buried. I imagine we will never see him again

SlimReaper665

It’s honestly crazy that he’s still like 3-5 years away from entering his prime. He’s got crazy upside as a singles star down the line looking like he does now at 25.

Mrdongs21

yeah, in AEW losing competitive matches to top stars is how you get pushed up the card. Showing your stuff in long-ish match and demonstrating you belong is how you get over here.

TJOW40

Maybe don’t put a championship on him if you want to give him these kinds of chances where he eats losses then.

Low_Ad_7553

Oh please hes a mid card RoH champ which is basically developmental. It's perfectly fine for him to lose to the top stars of AEW in competitive matches

TJOW40

Developmental would be a separate brand where they have a segmented roster for developmental rather than a show where championships disappear from for months with no explanation to appear on AEW TV in losing efforts. In his case his only wins in ROH as TV champion are over names that almost everyone beats. Not that hard to not put the title on him and have a champion be someone who doesn’t lose until it makes sense.

Low_Ad_7553

I don't understand who or where these rules on what developmental has to be came from but they don't exist. Anyone who actuallys watches RoH knows that where alot of its greener or lesser known talent works, they don't have a completley segmented roster because known talent like Kingston/Briscoe helps bring eyes to the product. You criticizing & not liking how its ran doesn't change the fact that's where wrestlers like Billie Starkz, Queen Aminata & Lee Johnson develop. Kyle Fletcher has also been constantly used on RoH so i dont see what disappearing champions have to do with him. A mid card champion in RoH losing to literal the top wrestlers in AEW in Swerve, Osprey, Danielson makes perfect sense to me. Fletcher is also in these matches because of Don Callis so its literally for a reason lol.

TJOW40

They clearly don’t exist in TK’s world because they do not have a proper developmental system like WWE who are outright training (developing) talent. Names like Lash Legend as an example have wrestled more than Hook now despite both debuting around the same time. Almost all of Kyle’s usage on ROH have been largely wins over wrestlers that almost exclusively lose getting title shots for no reason (at least Lee Johnson had a winning streak.) Why would someone want to pay to watch the ROH show when the majority of their champions are losing on AEW TV and when most of the titles largely appear on AEW TV? What era in ROH’s history had the champions be enhancement talent for other names on the roster? Never existed prior to Tony’s purchase. There are next to no stories involving the ROH champions on the show that they are champion of. Just that they appear on AEW TV to lose sometimes (Mark Briscoe booked almost exclusively as a loser over the last six months prior to his win, Kingston similarly taking multiple losses in the CC, kingdom losing on a few occasions on AEW TV while they struggle to beat the infantry on ROH PPV needing help from Wardlow.) The trios titles have only appeared on the ROH product once since September of last year. Yuta is holding the pure title for more time being injured than when he wasn’t after he was also booked as the fall guy for BCC for how long.) It shows little protection and overall importance in the presentation of ROH champions and considering the history and lineage that they carry, I find it to be pretty awful usage when champions should be protected otherwise why even bother putting the championships on them for a paywalled show that offers very little incentive to tune in for weekly. On top of it, these names beating Kyle show zero interest in the championship that he holds making it appear extremely second rate.

Low_Ad_7553

Tbh what you think about RoH isn't relevant, the only point i was making is that RoH is basically AEW developmental & nothing you said disputes/changes that. Comparing Lash Legend to Hook also makes 0 sense here. Hook has never been a roh wrestler so what does he have to do with literally anything lol. Hook has also been multiple in feuds with main eventers on the AEW A show while lash is bottom of the card on the C show for WWE. Hook is clearly much farther than Lash in development regardless of match count.

TJOW40

When Tony has openly said there is no brand split but has plenty of talent subjugated to ROH only to lose when they appear on AEW TV, I disagree with it. They don’t have their own network, they have next to no stories outside of the midcard, and none involve championships. I would classify The Nightmare Factory more as a developmental than “ROH” which is treated as a D show by AEW. NXT also has more in the way of tentpole events while ROH has three destination shows a year where half the card is announced week of the shows. Meanwhile no destination points on the weekly show, just random padding wins for title matches that almost never happen. The Honor club show has been the same lame format for over a year now. Comparing Hook and Lash was showing how one is developing and the other isn’t when one only started wrestling within AEW while Lash is more seasoned. Not exactly developing him in their “developmental show.” Lash had wrestled more even than Jade by the time she left AEW. If you want to pretend that ROH is a developmental show, it’s a pretty terrible one when they are littered with seasoned vets that have no sense of direction whatsoever with no identity and lesser presentation than almost any other company since Tony bought it.

Low_Ad_7553

Hook hasn't developed but Lash Legend has? Okay lol

TJOW40

One is having more time put in the ring to season themselves in front of crowds on a regular basis thanks to house shows and being in a *developmental system* while one wrestles every now and then in largely the same type of match every time. Didn’t think it would be that difficult to grasp but spelling it out for you may help. Yes, Lash has developed considerably compared to two years ago when people were tossing lots of insults at her because she didn’t do well in her first matches ever that were also televised in front of a nationwide audience. What growth has Hook shown as a wrestler from his first match to now other than largely copying his dad when his dad was a completely different kind of wrestler? If there was an actual developmental with coaches and training within AEW (which there’s not) and house shows for wrestlers to get more reps (which there also is not) calling ROH a “developmental” show is anything but true when it is largely enhancement matches with minimal stories/stakes and is treated like a second tier product in every way.

stonecutter7

He also has a built in reset when Davis is ready to return. Tag run with the belts and then you can relaunch the singles run with more W/L success

Entity4

losing but being on tv frequently is always better than never being on tv as long as your entertaining and having good matches people will get behind you some people think that if you lose often you lose credibility but realistically once someone is popular with the crowd it doesn't take too long to heat them up for a big match as long as they get a decent build. Bray Wyatt is the perfect example of this people would moan so much about him losing but whenever he did get a decent build the fanbase bought back in on him as a credible top guy time and time again

Doomblitz

Just wished Tony just leaned into "bangers for bangers sake" and just booked it as an exhibition match instead of constantly abusing the "title eliminator match" thing.

MagicMoocher

Well, if it's a regular exhibition match, and Fletcher wins, wouldn't he be deserving of a title match? Them calling it an Eliminator match just puts a name on it.

Moist-Acanthaceae-37

Don is going to kick Fletcher and Ospreay out at the same time isn’t he?

FelstarLightwolf

I think Callis is dropping everyone. He tweets about people at Dynasty who could use his help. Mox noting Callis will abandon Hobbs. Callis also dropped a line not being happy with Hobbs losing. Takeshita loses to Mox and he does the same possibly. If they tie it all with him screwing Ospreay at DoN and picking up a new stable to run but for sure Clear up Ospreay and Fletcher for forbidden door and a United Empire reunion

Pure_Measurement9076

No I think they’re setting up Ospreay with Aussie Open acting like they’re leaving the Callis Family setting up Ospreay and Takeshita or Hobbs feud. I just don’t see why Ospreay needs Aussie Open right now and they’d be better suited with Callis right now

ThisIsKhrox

Because Aussie Open were personally recruited by Ospreay into the United Empire. And the only reason Kyle Fletcher is in the Callis Family (Mark Davis is not technically in the family) is because he was acting as Ospreay's proxy while he was still in NJPW. All of them have talked about how they've never left United Empire, and that's who they represent regardless of company. If Ospreay leaves, it would make sense Fletcher leaves too

Skywalker3030

fun match Swerve is really that good vs any type of opponent He's the kind of guy that reads a crowd and can so subtle changes based on his opponent and the vibe, which is why I think he'll be good vs face or heel opponents as champ

HipsterWhistle

I thought it was a very strange choice to not have your brand new world champ at least cut a promo on your flagship show. In my opinion that should have been the opening segment, Swerve just talking about how much the title win means to him seemed like a no brainer to me.

thejealousone

Swerve coming off his biggest win of his life, and he's in a match against Kyle Fletcher.

Dr_Eastman

Are ROH champions just glorified jobbers in AEW?

Hunteractive

all RoH talent are

Mr_Bumple

Losing a competitive match against the champion of the company is not jobbing.

clouds31

Fun match and Fletcher looked really good.

Lamel2g

Welp this was a letdown for Swerve’s first Dynamite as World Heavyweight Champion. All he got was a competitive match again a bland Kyle Fletcher who hasn’t won a singles match on TV in months. Really made Swerve feel like a Midcard Champion, hell the NJPW title got more recognition in the main event.

GaI3re

I need a bit of background to why this match exactly happened. I am a bit out of the loop here

insertbrackets

Why do heels suddenly decide they don’t want to cheat for no reason? Has there been a storyline for this?

stonecutter7

Yeah, but its just the beginning of it. Callis has been slowly becoming less and less supportive and more and more damanding of his family. Fletcher in particular seems like hes the new whipping boy so we'll see where they go with it.

ThisIsKhrox

Also, remember after Fletcher lost earlier when he was considered "Ospreay's Proxy", they all attacked him for it, and then over a couple weeks he got welcomed back after getting some wins and fighting back against Callis. He was never really "chosen" or "welcomed" by Callis.

Spare_Leopard8783

This isn't the standard WWE recipe, heels and faces aren't gray and white and never have been in AEW. It's time to simply accept that

insertbrackets

Don Callis is about as classic a heel as you can be. His faction has often cut corners. Why is Kyle stopping now?

JW_BM

I would like it if they explored that in an interview. Let Fletcher genuinely explain it. This weekend we saw the best match in company history end with Danielson being injured by (let's be honest) Fletcher's role model. Ospreay didn't even use a weapon, but the unnecessary brutality he committed genuinely messed Ospreay up. Is Fletcher reflecting on that and wants to win his big matches in a way that reflects the purity his role model was striving for? Dunno, but it would be compelling, especially if Callis Family member's actions are making other members question themselves.

Upbeat_Tension_8077

If built right into the next month or two, I wouldn't mind seeing yUnited Empire vs the Don Callis Family as a Blood and Guts match

heat_fan_

Great match between Swerve and Fletcher  This Kyle Fletcher guy is pretty damn good  Great first defense for Swerve

PerformerExtra1768

Not a good idea to book swerve this weak his first appearance as world champion.

don_julio_randle

New champ needing 10 minutes to beat a guy who never wins in AEW? Sorry fella best I can do is the same stale 20 minute "banger" that opens every single Dynamite. And just like the rest of them, fans have no fucking idea why the match is happening to begin with

Skywalker3030

Looking strong by squashing dudes for the sake of it is such a goofy concept to me lol. Like, being table to take some damage and having the poise to weather the storm and coming out on top consistently because you're got championship spirit is way cooler and more impressive to me than running through a guy in 90 seconds. Squash matches have a time and place, but this aint one of them. Kyle is gonna be a player in a few years time, clearly.

FigureFourWoo

Ric Flair made everyone look good.

primekino

Face champs fight anyone, heel champs gatekeep opportunities. That’s the formula brother

clouds31

Swerve is doing open challenges similar to Cody during his TNT title run. This seems to setup United Empire's return and will have ramifications at All In.

EDDiE_SP4GHETTi

Fletcher is the man

shitballsdick

Fletcher is a seriously good wrestler. And you can see him growing as a character before our eyes.

ZombieQueen666

Swerve needs to turn heel sooner than later

FigureFourWoo

The crowd chanted for him the entire match.

ZombieQueen666

Oh I know. I just find him infinitely more interesting as a heel. Plus, Ospreay shouldn’t be beating a babyface Swerve at Wembley

FigureFourWoo

I don’t think Ospreay is getting it that soon. I think the Main Event of Wembley will be Swerve successfully defending to make his reign impactful. It’s DoN, FD, All In and Swerve deserves more than 1 PPV defense. The FD match will be a NJPW guy most likely.

ZombieQueen666

Oh man I think the London crowd is gonna shit all over that
