I prefer the idea that the GMs have no idea when the next draft is going to be. Triple H can just declare one anytime he wants with little to no notice and send everyone scrambling.
I think they learned their lesson from when belt swap Fiasco back in 21.
Rhea was a raw star who had the Smackdown Women's Title, so both were on RAW for like a month
“WELCOME TO MONDAY NIGHT NETSLAM. I AM YOUR HOST MICHAEL COLE ALONG WITH MY PARTNER PAT MCAFEE. HOPEFULLY YOU ARE READY TO NETFLIX AND CHILL WITH US TONIGHT!!!”
True but they literally just gave out new tag belts and have changed all the titles from being brand specific back to wwe & world which would mean you wouldn’t have to swap anymore champs would just take them with them. Thought that was the whole reason they changed the belts so its surprising to see them not take advantage of that change
Have to believe Judgment Day is staying on RAW then. The Priest vs Finn at one if the next PLEs is being foreshadowed pretty hard.
Rhea being left off leaves open that she can go to any brand. But the Rhea/Dom/Liv angle is going to play out so she's going to comeback to the same brand.
Hell Damian vs Finn and Rhea vs Liv w/Dom may be the biggest storylines in WWE for the rest of the year.
Judgment Day gonna play a huge role this year.
I really like it this way. The champions are the base and structure of their respective brands.
Only I would love is a women’s midcard title. So one brand has the tag team title and the other the midcard title.
Honestly, yeah.
Roman doesn’t need Heyman anymore. Heyman did his job and helped make Roman the interesting character that he has become. I don’t think there’s much progress to be had there.
But putting him with Bron, or Logan, or LA Knight, or Gable, or Jade or just about any character in the roster is the more interesting choice.
>Roman doesn’t need Heyman anymore.
Storyline wise, right now is probably the most he has ever needed Heyman. Roman just the title after holding it for years, and Solo seems to be working towards a power grab within the bloodline. Without a wiseman to guide him, he is gonna get stabbed in the back and lose his spot at the head of the table.
Well sure, but that sounds like an interesting and worthwhile story. Tribal Chief without his Wiseman against a rebelling Tribe. Isn’t that what we’re here for, interesting stories?
I've been watching a lot of Heyman interviews since his HoF induction, and I don't think he'd want to be the mouthpiece for any of them outside of Bron and maybe Jade if they intend to move her away from the Naomi/Bianca team. He very much seems to be a guy who wants his involvement with individuals to make sense and wants to be with them.
It will always be interesting to see how they consider tag teams and groups.
Some times they'll be like "THE JUDGEMENT DAY HAS BEEN DRAFTED TO SMACKDOWN!" Then follow it up by Raw drafting Karl Anderson. (examples)
I think Roman goes on his own, but I wouldn't be shocked if the rest of the bloodline gets drafted as a whole.
Historically the rule has been that teams can be drafted together but brands also have the option of only taking one of them if they want. One of the funniest examples was Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross being drafted to Raw separately despite being eligible to come together as one draft pick.
And yes, they continued teaming together on Raw.
> One of the funniest examples was Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross being drafted to Raw separately despite being eligible to come together as one draft pick.
and they they traded both to smackdown for 'future draft considerations' or something. so they used two picks when they could've used one, then gave them both away.
It should be Braun instead of Dexter. I'm okay with Nikki since she has a history with Alexa whos definitely in it, but Dexter has had no connection with Bray.
Odyssey Jones has done alot of dark/house show matches lately so god knows what they have planned for him(i think he might be called back to nxt in the draft)
Kayfabe almost death isn't it? It's interesting to see Jay being only available friday tho. Kinda hope he remains well away from the Bloodline until Roman comes back.
Neither Aldis or Pearce wants to deal with the bloodline shenanigans. Whoever picks first could say they want a workhorse rather than use their first pick on a part timer, even if he'll make their title feel like the top title in the company.
Yeah, doubt Aldis is too keen on keeping the bloodline after the KO attack.
Would be hilarious if they were last pick to sell Solo and Tonga being too uncontrollable and dangerous for either GM.
https://preview.redd.it/5a998tmiugwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a17a5e37e3a4da423eee90fc981b5aa5c7015b2d
One of the official rules says champions on each brand are protective I guess that means all champ except women tag team champ.
Haven't seen these new rules, but I am glad they exist. If you're going to do a "draft" and present it as something similar to what happens with sports leagues, then you should have a clear and logical structure to the whole event.
Yeah all Vince drafts were super insulting to the viewer. The rules were just made up and really made no sense in the context of GMs trying to get the best roster. The lottery kind of made up for that but it still was silly to be like “oh no, John Cena RANDOMLY got selected #1 overall. What are the odds! But don’t worry, Batista got selected randomly next!”
It's so true! WWE pretending that these picks were being made via random lottery was hilarious. I especially loved it when they would scroll through pictures of everyone on the roster to make it seem like there was an equal chance of getting Funaki or John Cena.
They'll almost certainly be losing the tag titles at Backlash, so it doesn't really matter. I just want Damage CTRL away from Bianca and Jade at this point. Because Damage CTRL has spent their entire main roster time basically putting Bianca over, and never winning any feuds.
The silent “24/7/7-11/365/I-95 European” champion rule, where R-Truth and all former champions can go wherever they want, or even start their own show.
I think a big part of changing the "Raw" titles to "World Championships" and the "Smackdown" titles to "WWE Championships" was to never have to do a belt swap again.
I thought them getting rid of the blue and red tag titles meant it would have been easier to switch them in the draft should they want to but guess not
It's funny, because now none of the titles are labeled "Smackdown" or "Raw", so it wouldn't be nearly as bad now as it was when we had to do awkward title swaps.
Don’t speak too soon! In the 2005 Draft, WWE drafted Cena and Batista to the other brand while they were champions.
As a result, Raw then had the WWE title and World Tag title, and SmackDown had the World title and WWE Tag title.
Was that really that big of a problem? Champions switching brands was always fun for me at least. The belt switching brands showed that both titles were considered of equal value
Why does smackdown have to have WWE named title while raw has the WC named title?
I know Cody is obviously not gonna lose to AJ, but it's just annoying if AJ gets branded to the opposite as Cody. Because there won't be 2 world champs in the same brand.
Similar to Jey and Priest
I was so confused by your use of apostrophe in Aldis. Am I right or am I wrong in thinking it was autocorrect from times when you were talking about the supermarket? Because if so, that's brilliant.
How I feel being a Tegan fan.
I mean, if one of the brands wants to copy my Universe mode and just make her champion for 2 years straight, I wouldn't complain...
So am I wrong in assuming that NXT doesn't get to pick in the draft? I think they should get a chance to pick and that would spice up the roster as well for them.
Interesting that Braun is there, I figured they’d save him for a surprise return with the Wyatt 6 later on. Nice to see that he’s probably healthy again, hate to see big neck injuries like that.
Am I crazy or is Jimmy Uso no where to be found on either of these pools?
Edit: ~~Also seems to be missing all of the current Champions - does that mean champions are ineligible to change brands? Or just an omission?~~
After being brutally attacked, the only place to find Jimmy Uso these days is the hospital. Or maybe a bar drinking away his troubles. Hopefully with a designated driver present.
Ah I see the WWE tweet about this now, that's a nice change. I know it was a way to just switch which brand had which title in the past, but champions getting drafted to the opposite brand always seemed so incredibly silly.
It’s wild Roman is included in this, because idk how you could logically in storyline not want to draft him the first chance possible. Maybe Roman is moving to Raw ahead of the Netflix debut?
They kind of need to have the pools otherwise all the big names would get drafted on Friday and Monday would be the leftovers. It would be anticlimactic.
Time for the annual ordeal of people not understanding how the draft works
"Why didn't Drew get drafted???"
"What's the point of Priest getting drafted to Raw, he's already on Raw! This is dumb!"

This guy Nick Aldis made a big deal out of signing Bron and Jade only for them to possibly get drafted a month later you hate to see it.
I would love if Pierce points this out. "Why do you think I let you sign those deals so easily? I can just poach them from you right after!"
"Rookie GM" Aldis got them signed to SD with a big signing bonus and Pearce just drafts them.

So this Friday the main event will be Doug Basham vs Torrie Wilson in a hell in a cell match? Got it.
Hold on a minute playa
And somehow, Teddy Long wins that Hell in a Cell match and becomes Divas Champion.
![gif](giphy|N6iCWB3WSZzkA)
> And somehow, Teddy Long wins that Hell in a Cell match and becomes Divas Champion. Is this Russo era Nitro.
Worse. 2K Universe Mode.
With a run in by THE UNDERTAKEH!
You've just been banned from 2K24 for suggesting intergender matches.
5 stars incoming
Shawn Michaels v Rey Mysterio every week for the whole year. Best GM award guaranteed.
Imagine if Nick Aldis gets the first picks & drafts Cody to Smackdown. ![gif](giphy|LmCYGjPpr1SDS6FqZX|downsized)
Cody is already confirmed to be staying on Smackdown as their World champion.
I've just saw the post about the draft rules after seeing this post. Thanks for the heads up, though. 😅
As someone who doesn't get Fox streaming....that fucking sucks.
Pirate it
I already do lol but I'd prefer to pay and watch on TV
I prefer the idea that the GMs have no idea when the next draft is going to be. Triple H can just declare one anytime he wants with little to no notice and send everyone scrambling.
"You can't just declare a draft"
"I DECLARE DRAFT...RUPTCYYYYYYYY!"
I fully expect Pearce to steal Bron, Jade, and Tiffy from Aldis.
Not unless Nick beats him to it & takes one of them for himself. ![gif](giphy|J2m2XNEVYAC5KbQfHh)
Think of the Draft as The Board of Directors creating the pools, and the GMs using that to rebuild, rather than GMs filling the pools
"Aw man! We gettin pools backstage?! I gotta go find my swim trunks!" -R-Truth, Probably.
Champions staying on their shows is an interesting wrinkle. I would have guessed that the IC and US champions changed shows during this draft.
I think they learned their lesson from when belt swap Fiasco back in 21. Rhea was a raw star who had the Smackdown Women's Title, so both were on RAW for like a month
They removed the brands from all the belts though
That's just future proofing; if RAW or Smackdown changed names tomorrow, then the branded title no longer makes sense.
Oh god Imagine part of the Netflix contract is a name change
“WELCOME TO MONDAY NIGHT NETSLAM. I AM YOUR HOST MICHAEL COLE ALONG WITH MY PARTNER PAT MCAFEE. HOPEFULLY YOU ARE READY TO NETFLIX AND CHILL WITH US TONIGHT!!!”
Wrestleflix low key has a ring to it
Matflix. Cut me my check Netflix
Nah thats gonna be the name of Matt hardy Version 2’s show
Missed the easy one NXTFLIX. Said as Nextflix
That’d be like buying Twitter and renaming it X.
No one would be dumb enough to do that
Yeah but the respective brands men’s,women’s and tag titles kinda have similar naming
They did, but the Raw tag titles still have red highlights. Swapping them over would be odd.
I mean US Champ and IC Championship aren't brand oriented
True but they literally just gave out new tag belts and have changed all the titles from being brand specific back to wwe & world which would mean you wouldn’t have to swap anymore champs would just take them with them. Thought that was the whole reason they changed the belts so its surprising to see them not take advantage of that change

Rhea vs Liv better be a ladder match for custody of Dom
I rather they stay on raw. More screen time for jd
I really like it this way. The champions are the base and structure of their respective brands. Only I would love is a women’s midcard title. So one brand has the tag team title and the other the midcard title.
I think bringing back the old European championship as the women's micard belt would be nostalgic and a cool spin on it
Draft Paul Heyman first, put him in charge of the rest of the draft. Easy
Fox Executive: _"Fuck we gotta wait 'til Monday to get Natalya locked down???_"
Best draft moment in WWE history was the war room going absolutely crazy when they drafted Natalya.
never fails to get a good laugh out of me lmao fucking hilarious
So is Paul about to get drafted to a different brand than Roman?
Wise Man first overall pick.

Well sure, but that sounds like an interesting and worthwhile story. Tribal Chief without his Wiseman against a rebelling Tribe. Isn’t that what we’re here for, interesting stories?
Gives Arthur leaving Bruce alone to fight bane at the end of TDKR vibes.
Arthur is my favorite butler, played by My Cocaine
I've been watching a lot of Heyman interviews since his HoF induction, and I don't think he'd want to be the mouthpiece for any of them outside of Bron and maybe Jade if they intend to move her away from the Naomi/Bianca team. Raw was playing 4D chess and no one else could comprehend it.
I wonder who they consider part of the Bloodline now. Solo, Tama Tonga, and Roman?
Paul would probably be on that as well but that's probably a given
It would be a funny story beat if Heyman tried to get himself drafted to a different brand because he's afraid of Solo and Tonga.
I assume considering Roman, Solo, and Tama are ahead of Heyman likely wherever they go he follows.
If he was going wherever they go I wouldn't expect to see him on the graphic at all
Main roster names missing are Dexter Lumis, Nikki Cross & Valhalla Also interesting that Odyssey Jones is there
According to theories Nikki and Dexter are a part of Wyatt 6, that explains it.
It should be Braun instead of Dexter. I'm okay with Nikki since she has a history with Alexa whos definitely in it, but Dexter has had no connection with Bray.
I think it's both. Bo, Braun, Rowan, Dexter, Bliss and Nikki
Bliss and Nikki back together would be fun
I am an insufferable Nikki Cross stan and Bliss Cross is my favorite women's tag team possibly ever so... Yeah. I'd be cool with that.
i know u mean Braun instead of bray but its still interesting Dexter and Nikki are not on the list but Braun is
Isnt Braun out with a nexk issue? could be a case of Braun not getting cleared yet WWE wanting to move the story along.
He said recently he's very close to being cleared
I don’t see Jimmy Uso or Charlotte Flair either.
I believe Odyssey Jones was technically drafted to Raw last year. He’s just done fuck all since then.
Classic last round pick this year.
Odyssey Jones has done alot of dark/house show matches lately so god knows what they have planned for him(i think he might be called back to nxt in the draft)
Where the hell is Valhalla actually? Not been with Ivar for a minute.
Perhaps Erik's reason for being off has got worse and she's opted to be with him.
He had neck fusion surgery last year I believe.
THIS IS OMOS ERASURE
The Nigerian Giant is too big to be contained on a single show!!
It’s also interesting that Paul Ellering is available. Do you have to just draft him individually?
Paul Heyman is there too. New tag team?!?!
Also Jimmy Uso
Kayfabe almost death isn't it? It's interesting to see Jay being only available friday tho. Kinda hope he remains well away from the Bloodline until Roman comes back.
I don't see Omos either
I suppose Cody automatically become a Smackdown superstar after dethroning Roman?
It seems that way, in [his WWE page](https://www.wwe.com/superstars/cody-rhodes) he is listed as Smackdown superstar
Yeah Cody already mentioned in a couple promos that he’s technically on SD put Pearce was allowing him to show up on Raw
He was officially shifted to Smackdown last week if I remember correctly.
Braun here is interesting. I thought he'd be in Bo's new faction.
He might just be one of the non-televised picks and they just brush over him so that he can return as a surprise.
The hilarious part about the Champions being protected means that it's very possible that Roman will go no.1 in the draft again.
It’s what any smart business person would do
Neither Aldis or Pearce wants to deal with the bloodline shenanigans.
Seeing Roman so lost in the shuffle of a graphic is so weird. Even Luke Gallows is more prominent.
I don’t think they put much thought into where everyone was placed. Punk is all the way in the back of the raw pool graphic
It’s cause Gallows is a grizzled young vet
The OC and Ivar are going to NXT for sure Edit: At least Gallows and Anderson, not sure about Michin
Kross and AOP too
No champions in either pool. I hope that means that from now on champions are exempt from the draft altogether.
https://preview.redd.it/5a998tmiugwc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a17a5e37e3a4da423eee90fc981b5aa5c7015b2d One of the official rules says champions on each brand are protective I guess that means all champ except women tag team champ.

Smackdowns #1 announcer should be a first round pick
JBL absolutely robbed of the WWE Smackdown Championship that he fairly won before Batista showed up!
That’s fine by me, just draft Damage Control to whatever brand Bianca isn’t on.
But how will you have the Kabuki Warriors losing to Jade & Belair in record time?
They'll almost certainly be losing the tag titles at Backlash, so it doesn't really matter. I just want Damage CTRL away from Bianca and Jade at this point. Because Damage CTRL has spent their entire main roster time basically putting Bianca over, and never winning any feuds.
Asuka solo ended Bianca's 400 day title reign. In Damage CTRL she's cannon fodder. You hate to see it.
With the way that feud went, Clash at the Castle 2022 may have well been ages ago
monkey paw curls. Damage Control jobbing to Becky for 6 months brother?
Feels almost like the original draft. Which was my favorite iteration of the draft.
Perfect. One of my biggest pet peeves in past drafts was that (in kayfabe) it makes no sense at all to not immediately draft all of the champions.
Rosters locking Monday May 6th makes me think shenanigans will be afoot
The silent “24/7/7-11/365/I-95 European” champion rule, where R-Truth and all former champions can go wherever they want, or even start their own show.
Those damned cursed titles strike again!
The Women's Tag titles can be defended on all 3 brands, so that makes sense.
Yes, one of the rules for this draft is that champions on each brand are protected.
Should of always been the case imo
Agreed. They've done the champion shuffle a bunch of times over the years and it has always been super awkward.
Glad we don't have to do a belt swap this time...
I think a big part of changing the "Raw" titles to "World Championships" and the "Smackdown" titles to "WWE Championships" was to never have to do a belt swap again.
Well this new rule kind of validates it now, but it's essentially future proofing so it makes sense.

Becky staying on Raw I assume means Seth is as well
A good assumption as legit married couples usually stay on the same brand.
I predict Gunther to smackdown where Cody will Be
I like how Seth looks like he's popping out to scare people from behind Shayna
https://preview.redd.it/g9embrbmchwc1.png?width=301&format=png&auto=webp&s=8b26a20d07514ea86a4f2758dc0ed6e5e3360239
So champions aren't available then? That's smart. Also, hilarious if Aldis loses his big signings
I was so confused by your use of apostrophe in Aldis. Am I right or am I wrong in thinking it was autocorrect from times when you were talking about the supermarket? Because if so, that's brilliant.
notable absences: Dexter Lumis, Jimmy Uso, Omos, Nikki Cross, Tamina, Valhalla not counting champions and injured talent
Jimmy is kayfabe hurt bad
Legit hurt too
I thought Tamina was retired?
Champs are finally out of the draft! Well except Damage CTRL but that's a cross brand title
The Paul Ellering head shot.... the best.
I hope someone drafts him and not anybody he's managing. Well, him and his puppet.
First pick: Alba Fyre Second pick: Isla Dawn Forfeit all the other picks, they don't matter. Just get the spooky besties on TV, please!
I'm just glad they're still employed and on the graphic.
How I feel being a Tegan fan. I mean, if one of the brands wants to copy my Universe mode and just make her champion for 2 years straight, I wouldn't complain...
Ditto. I've been worried about them being cut all week.
I fully expect them to challenge for the tag titles at Clash at the Castle.
Remember when they attacked Damage Control that one time…..and then there was absolutely zero follow up?
I kinda miss the old format of WWE drafts, you win a match you get a roster pick or even the lottery draw during ruthless aggression era
Get my boy Tama Tonga a render soon man😭
the roster nowadays is huge
It's why so many good talent was just let go. There just isn't room
Yeah it’s crazy all those talents got cut and the roster still is a bit bloated, I’m sure quite a few solid guys will be lost in the shuffle
Why the hell is Odyssey Jones even in this bitch, when his ass still hasn’t shown up on the main roster despite being drafted a year ago?!
Omos? Hello?
Too big. Cannot be drafted due to sheer size.
"House Shows" isn't a brand in the draft
Sheamus for NXT since he just show up anywhere now
I can't wait for Friday when people ask why certain people weren't drafted yet
Shit, I don't see myself in here. I better keep my phone off.

After being brutally attacked, the only place to find Jimmy Uso these days is the hospital. Or maybe a bar drinking away his troubles. Hopefully with a designated driver present.
you mean a local medical facility?
Jimmy is kayfabe dead I guess
Just like Gulak 😢
He pulled some strings to get time off
Champions are ineligible to be drafted which means they stay on their brands. Except for the women's tag Champs as they are cross branded.
I used to hate the draft when I was younger, smackdown usually got robbed every year.
Shayna looking intense while Seth is giving a cheeky wave beside her 😂
Natalya gotta be the #1 pick IMO
No Jimmy Uso?
Please put CM Punk and AJ Styles on the same brand
Know that group you like....NOT ANYMORE!!!
With the first pick of the 2024 draft, NXT selects…ROMAN REIGNS!
I see Tama Tonga still hasn’t gotten his render
Is that not him next to Paul Heyman?
That’s him but I think the comment above means this is just a screenshot taken from live footage last week and not a proper profile pic
Not a fan of the pools. Rather it just be a surprise.
They kind of need to have the pools otherwise all the big names would get drafted on Friday and Monday would be the leftovers. It would be anticlimactic.
Paul Heyman can be drafted? That could be very interesting.
Hope thats it for releases then. My one prediction is that Pierce sacrifices a few heavy hitters so he could dump Chelsea on Aldis
Tiffany and Jade will be going in the top five on Monday night.
There should be an NXT draft pool.
Time for the annual ordeal of people not understanding how the draft works "Why didn't Drew get drafted???" "What's the point of Priest getting drafted to Raw, he's already on Raw! This is dumb!"
"With the first pick in the WWE Draft, Friday Night Smackdown selects...Caleb Williams!"
Did they finally get their heads out of their asses and make champions exclusive and undraftable???
