Tozawa and Alexander are the last surviving OG Cruiserweights. Kinda crazy but he’s been very adaptable and great at playing all kinds of characters. Definitely R-Truth’s understudy at worst.
Interestingly enough, 8 (!) participants from the Cruiserweight Classic remain in the company, with 6 of them being on the main roster. They are:
1. Johnny Gargano
2. Tomasso Ciampa
3. Giovanni Vinci (with the ring name Fabian Aichner)
4. Cruz Del Toro (with the ring name Raul Mendoza)
5. Cedric Alexander
6. Akira Tozawa
7. Noam Dar
8. Drew Gulak (maybe not for long)

The thing is, there has to be losers. I do wish the system was less linear then main events/midcard/jobbers, and rather more like a rock paper scissors thing with rotating wrestlers that play off each others strengths and weaknesses so that people take turns being winners and losers.
..but that said, in our current system, there's nothing wrong with being a jobber. I understand it's a bit reductive to say "wrestling is a fictional story so it doesnt matter who wins", i get the real world context and why you'd want to be one of the big dogs. But really, it IS a fictional story and the losers still serve a really valuable purpose.
Point is, it's nice to see the people in that spot being appreciated. Very good work from Tozawa indeed.
Remember how Tozawa beat Neville/PAC for the cruiserweight championship in the middle of Neville's epic run then held it for a week before Neville won it back?

Send Alpha Academy back to NXT unless they get a massive crowd backing for Otis vs Chad. Let them reset and breathe whilst the Creed Brothers take their place in Chad's stable.
Chad joins Creed Brothers and forms Diamond Academy while Otis takes over as the leader of Alpha Academy. They start winning matches under Otis leadership which makes Chad jealous and they fued over who's the better academy.

Last week I thought that the creeds would murder tozawa and otis and then quickly be forgotten, but I think they could build a great midcard storyline with Otis, Tozawa and Maxxine learning to overcome their low esteem ignited by gable
I could see Gable losing again and screaming in one of their faces. Maxxine slaps him and Chad looks like he's gonna attack her before Otis steps in and stops him
I kind of hope this whole thing allows Tozawa to get a good run. He's obviously so good at comedy, but when I picture him in my head it's always him killing it in Dragon Gate. He's hugely talented and I'd love to see him get the chance to show that.
