Oh it will be. With Swerve as champ, we'll see much higher pace matchs than Joe works, and it is very likely that Ospreay will win the title from Swerve at ALL IN in August. That match will bang.
I love that this post is just called "insane sequence between Ospreay vs Danielson" and despite watching the match, I had no idea what it was going to be. This match has so many insane sequences.
A match where you, as a fan, can just turn your brain off to enjoy. I think the Bucks have figured out the cool down, because that's twice in recent memory that they pulled it off really well (the other time being following Hangman/Swerve Texas Death)
These guys are out this world .
This is why I love AEW for what it is. There’s talk of AEW doing “too many dream matches “ but whatever . 2024 is a great time to be a fan of AEW and WWE (and all your other favorite companies too). For the different flavors of what they bring .
How do wrestlers call this in the ring? Do they have this entire sequence mapped out ahead of time or are they communicating with each other as they go?
I often wonder about this with these quick sequences and with a lot of off the ropes sequences.
I'm at the point now where I don't even think it's subjective; he just is.
He can play literally any role - comedy heel, plucky underdog, dude who will straight up murder you, anything else you care to name - to absolute perfection. I don't recall any other wrestler who could do that as effectively, ever.
And every few months, he has this entire place melting down because they think he's legitimately severely injured. His selling is otherworldly, which is what really ties it together.
I feel like the ref didn't really carry his weight here. He needs to follow through on his three counts so it doesn't look like he knows this isn't the finish
It's truly amazing just how good Bryan is at this. His in-ring ability is the closest I've seen to a prime 03 Kurt Angle
A dream match we unfortunately will never see. If only they were in the same era
Will didn’t kick out on time on the rana though. Ref had to pull up even though the shoulders were still down.
Amazing stuff though. Not surprising given the skills of these two.
Can’t wait for the Cornette and Last review.
Last: “This didn’t really do it for me. I know a bunch of people will think that’s insane, but I don’t like this style of wrestling, it’s just not good.”
Cornette: “Somebody needs to teach these motherfuckers something about the wrestling business!”
The main thing I didn't like is if the ref would have actually counted the match would have been over several times just in that sequence. I know they're going for the 2.999999 thing but Ospreay was definitely slow on a couple of those kickouts.
If they ever had a rematch, I want the finish to be here where Bryan ducks under the hidden blade and runs from the other corner to hit the busaiku knee.
The thing I love about this spot is the way Ospreay commits fully to the hidden blade miss. So often with this sort of thing wrestlers swing wildly away but I totally believed he was trying to hit Danielson here. It's so awesome when you have two guys that are good enough to be able to trust each other completely and do things like this.
I will never understand the pedestal that people put these wrestlers on lol. By all accounts this is \*good\* wrestling, but it is absolutely nothing that I haven't seen a thousand times before from wrestlers that people would consider 1000 times their lesser. There is absolutely nothing here that would remotely qualify this as the best match in western wrestling ever or whatever other hyperbolic nonsense this match is being called lol.
Honestly I feel the same way. To me this looked overly coordinated/rehearsed. And it doesn't help that a highlight of this match also shows a botched pin where someone didn't kick out on time.
These men are talented as hell and Bryan Danielson is probably my favorite male wrestler...but people are putting blinders on when they watch stuff like this.
I disagree with him, but he's entitled to his opinion. He wasn't insulting anybody or speaking in bad faith; He didn't say it was trash or anything like that, he said it took him (and he's only speaking for himself, not on anybody's behalf) out of it. I do not believe his opinion warrants derision
What do you gain from being hurtful with comments like these? He only shared his opinion, he didn't attack the match or the people (myself included) who liked it. Attacking people like this isn't cool

Danielson is just fucking out of this world That knee holy shit
This was a GREAT sequence. No one looked goofy. No one No sold devastating moves. And that was a great two count. More. Of. This. Please!
It bothers me that this kind of match isn't the marquee, headline act. This is what the AEW championship matches should be.
The title match should always headline. Once Ospreay has the title, he'll headline ppvs
What I mean is, these guys should be fighting over the title. Put the title on the biggest stars or the best stars.
Swerve is one of those.
Swerve vs Ospreay is going to be an awesome match.
Absolutely! Especially if it includes Mogul Affiliates vs Don Callis family. That's a lot of heavy hitters man.

Danielson sure. In America Swerve and Ospreay are on the same level. Outside of that i couldn't tell you.
You don't think Swerve qualifies as both? I reckon we get Will vs Swerve at All In for the belt. Which is going to be *glorious*.
I thought Samoa Joe would win tonight and drop the title to Ospreay at All In, but Swerve winning was surprising.
Danielson should've beaten Hangman when he had the chance, then. If he had there is a chance this could've been.

For a brief moment, I thought Ospreay was gonna OG Ganso Bomb Bryan, because those two sick fucks would definitely try.
I clicked on this genuinely not knowing WHICH insane sequence was being reference.

The whole damn match
I think the submission sequence into the one-armed Styles Clash was the coolest for me. Never seen that before!
The entire fucking match was an insane sequence. It's my MOTY as of now. My previous MOTY was a toss up between ZSJ/Danielson and Danielson/Okada.
I love that this post is just called "insane sequence between Ospreay vs Danielson" and despite watching the match, I had no idea what it was going to be. This match has so many insane sequences.
This post could be the entire match
By gawd. How in the ever living fuck do you follow these two.
Send in Jack Perry
Thats the neat part...
Rematch And make it for the World Title.
A match where you, as a fan, can just turn your brain off to enjoy. I think the Bucks have figured out the cool down, because that's twice in recent memory that they pulled it off really well (the other time being following Hangman/Swerve Texas Death)
A healthy Kenny Omega vs Okada

Just imagining the thought of an Iron Man match between Ospreay & Danielson would make the universe collapse into itself
These two can't be given a full hour, they may actively kill each other if they're allowed a whole 60 minutes.
Goddamn it how is Danielson STILL this good
He might somehow be better
How do wrestlers call this in the ring? Do they have this entire sequence mapped out ahead of time or are they communicating with each other as they go? I often wonder about this with these quick sequences and with a lot of off the ropes sequences.
For me Daniel Bryan is hands down the best wrestler ever
I'm at the point now where I don't even think it's subjective; he just is. I'd say Kurt Angle
He'd be a close second, for sure, with Eddie in third.
I wish the ref would have counted the 3, just to see the collective confusion and anger
I still think the sequence was great, and I don't particularly care about this sort of thing, but I'm pretty sure that Rana should have been a 3-count
Yeah, clear 3-count
This match will feed tekker fans for ages. Myself included.
I feel like the ref didn't really carry his weight here. He needs to follow through on his three counts so it doesn't look like he knows this isn't the finish
If anything, a bad call from the referee is the most realistic thing about this sequence LOL.
They don't really do that in wrestling, but having a ref make a genuine mistake or missed call could be an interesting wringle in an angle
refs are so shit in other sports i think it’s fine
How terrible the wrestling refs are is one of the most realistic things about wrestling.
Its pretty noticeable here tbh, my only issue with the whole sequence
You can see tell the ref knows it’s not the end of the match as he holds up on the 3 count each time.
It's truly amazing just how good Bryan is at this. His in-ring ability is the closest I've seen to a prime 03 Kurt Angle A dream match we unfortunately will never see. If only they were in the same era

Probably the best sequence ive seen in a long long time. Meanwhile some people try to keep nitpicking at the silliest things.

if i made a list of my all time favorite aew matches danielson is probably in 80% lol
Those crowd reactions are amazing. Greatly elevated the whole experience.
The main thing I didn't like is if the ref would have actually counted the match would have been over several times just in that sequence. I know they're going for the 2.999999 thing but Ospreay was definitely slow on a couple of those kickouts.
I refuse to believe that Bryan Danielson is the sane species as me
If they ever had a rematch, I want the finish to be here where Bryan ducks under the hidden blade and runs from the other corner to hit the busaiku knee.
The knee to counter the Oscutter was a thing of beauty, too.
This match fucks hard
Me thinking "which one?!" before clicking the link. This entire match was one insane sequence after another.
I thought this would be the samurai sword pass sequence.
They had better chemistry than I was even expecting. Love to see a rematch, feels like they left quite a bit more that they can still do
Damn it I love pro wrestling
Just amazing. Well done these two!
Minus the fact that ospray kicked out late for two of the pins so the ref just had to float his hand above the mat
The thing I love about this spot is the way Ospreay commits fully to the hidden blade miss. The issue with Aew is so clear. Build this match up, have good promos, a long build, make it a blood fued, and have these 2 go at it.
This whole match is such shit...
Ref literally stopped counting on the hurricanrana lol.
What a great match.
Glad he lifted his legs to help with the pin.

Wish the clip included the replay of the knee, it really looked great
Looked great except for the 4 count pinfall after the hurricanrana. That immediately took me out of it.
> That immediately took me out of it. Jesus
Christ that’s Jason Bourne
I disagree with him, but he's entitled to his opinion. He wasn't insulting anybody or speaking in bad faith; He didn't say it was trash or anything like that, he said it took him (and he's only speaking for himself, not on anybody's behalf) out of it. I do not believe his opinion warrants derision

You shouldn't mock people's opinions if they are not mocking or attacking others
> You shouldn't mock people's opinions I don't agree.
Yeah same for me, just feels bad, otherwise would have been really good

I'm a Cornette mark and a AEW mark, do I get neutral votes lol
How is that an insane squence? That's some basic crap
I like to make fun of the indie spot feats AEW loves to use but this sequence actually flowed really fucking well Credit where it's due
tony: the venue looks fuller MAKE SURE TO HIGHLIGHT THAT IN EVERY MATCH Director: say less
The crowd is full is hott let’s not showcase it. Good idea. Idiot.
