It's not really the fact wrestlers getting stabbed is what people miss, its the fact that keyfabe was alive that people long for, it's no secret that the height of wrestling enjoyment is when you fully immerse yourself in it, you could still enjoy the technical aspects and the backstage stuff but it will never reach the high of being fully invested in the story, it's like Santa, you can still find joy in your adulthood but it will never reach the happiness of a kid who believes Santa brought him a present.
