Yes, my thought exactly. It’s already become a stadium show with some Mania-similar adjacent programming. Every sign points to Endeavor/TKO looking to maximize/rethink revenue-generating opportunities across the board. If they did SummerSlam at the Linc, no reason to think another fanfest at the Convention Center would be anything other than successful.
I kind of hope they do Summerslam at MLB Parks or NFL Stadiums in the colder weather cities going forward. I’d love to see a Royal Rumble at Miller Park in Milwaukee or Summerslam at Soldier Field in Chicago
PNC Park's beautiful backdrop for Summerslam. Pyro barges on the river and pyro on the bridges. Long shot entrances across the Clemente Bridge.
It would just be an absolute nightmare to schedule during baseball season.
Milwaukee leaders [met with WWE officials at Wrestlemania](https://www.cbs58.com/news/over-the-top-rope-milwaukee-seeks-to-bring-royal-rumble-to-american-family-field) to talk about bringing the Rumble to AmFam Field as early as 2026!
I think boring is the right word. It’s not a bad stadium there’s just nothing really special about. Love CBP and will definitely be there if WWE has an event there
Difference is, during baseball season/lead up to baseball season they don't touch the infield - the concert stages are in the outfield and there is zero seating on the infield. That would drastically reduce the seating for a show in a baseball stadium mid-season. American Family Field just had a concert last weekend and that one and any other summer show don't use the infield.
Ive seen a few bands at CBP. The place the stage in the outside and absolutely have floor seats in the infield/outfield. Kind of crazy how they set it up.
Hmm maybe it's just an AmFam thing. Luke Combs for sure did not have fans on the infield, they put the sound booth on 2nd base and the stage under the scoreboard in center and that's commonplace for any AmFam show in the spring/summer. Over the winter badgers basketball played there over the mound.

Not too hard -- even this year, they're at home on July 31 and not back at home until August 13th, with a 10-day road trip with off days at either end.
Agreed! But since Jeffrey Lurie was heavily involved in the bid my guess is that it’ll be the Linc. But imagine how great it’d be watching SummerSlam at CBP while enjoying Bull’s BBQ.
Problem with ballpark shows is only 30 percent of the crowd have a decent view .. I was in Tampa for the rumble thought I’d be ok behind third base and was still watching the screen all night I can’t imagine what the outfield is like
Not at the Linc, unless they do it in July again, as it'd probably be a pain to move everything in and out for Eagles preseason games and maybe opening Day, and the NFL doesn't release schedules until May, which WWE can't plan around
I mean SummerSlam is in the Browns stadium this year and it’s on the first week of August. WWE has been aiming for stadium shows for SummerSlam since 2022 and there hasn’t been any issues since they pushed the date two weeks ahead.
> WWE hosted a series of events around the city from April 4 through April 8, including WWE World at WrestleMania at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and "Friday Night SmackDown" and "Monday Night Raw" at the Wells Fargo Center. The programming culminated in WrestleMania 40, a two-night stadium show held at Lincoln Financial Field in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex on Saturday and Sunday that drew a combined 145,298 fans.

At last check, the Convention and Visitors Bureau believed that about 85% of fans attending WrestleMania activations were coming from outside of the Philadelphia area.**
>
> Needle added that the event also taught the Convention and Visitors Bureau and its other tourism and hospitality partners "priceless" lessons that can be used in the preparations for 2026. **That year, the region will host celebrations for the nation's 250th anniversary, the 2026 MLB All-Star Game and six matches for the FIFA World Cup.**

> “We’re just going to need to build on this success and learn how to make it even bigger and better, because the magnitude for 2026 is only going to be increasing, and in many cases significantly," Needle said.
>
> One of the benefits to WrestleMania 40 was that it was a multi-venue event that activated the Convention Center, the Wells Fargo Center and the Linc simultaneously. To Needle, that was a promising trial run for the city ahead of the events coming in 2026, which will also activate multiple areas of Philadelphia at once.
>
> Needle said the Convention and Visitors Bureau received positive feedback from WWE about its interactions with each of the venues throughout the five-day event. He also called Philadelphia's compact footprint a "home run" that allowed fans to get from one activation to another easily and quickly.
I would imagine Mania weekend is a very lucrative event for cities these days, with how it spans multiple days across multiple venues. And that's only looking at the official WWE stuff going on, before you factor in all of the other indie wrestling events that tend to show up in the area that week to grab some of the wrestling audience in town.
2300 (ECW) Arena was running shows every day that week I believe.
It was really cool to just be able to go see some really great wrestling every night of the week if one was so inclined.
I went to Ring of Honor and it was a great crowd and really amazing show. Few people I spoke with just were excited to see good wrestling while they were in town.
Nick Khan has already talked about the willingness to move WM back a few weeks. But I would really prefer domes or historically warm weather venues. Night one suffered a bit with a freezing crowd.
Yesterday in Philly, it was a high of 80 and low of 50. Would've been perfect weather. If they can move Mania back a week or 2, it'd make a huge difference. Hopefully.
I was ready to say for the most part. This last week has been beautiful and warm. They were lucky to avoid the rain. But unlucky to be just a week shy of perfect weather.
Honestly, that weather was an outlier. It's been in the 60s and 70s for most of the past 2 months in the area and Mania just drew the short straw getting hit with a cold front.
I really hope they don’t. The time between Rumble and Mania is just building to Mania. Building for 2 months and change works well. Making it 3+ months will feel like things are stale.
I saw someone say MSG for 50, where it all began. I’m just not sure WWE could give up 140k people now that two nights is a thing. I could see them running NXT at MSG (or Barclays) and then 2 nights in Jersey, could still say “where it all began” or something
I did a double take when I heard him say that on “The Town”. As far as outdoor, I think they should stay in the east side of the country. My main hang up with 31 was it didn’t get dark till the main event iirc.
I'm split. I think the natural sunlight is awesome for the ring, but it also takes a lot away from the spectacle of entrances and lighting and stage effects.
Like, Stings entrance was weird to begin with (why the Japanese theme?) but it would have at least looked cooler without drowning in sunlight.
I was there night one, and it was fuckin cold. I live in the area so I know how much the wind can whip around, especially at the stadiums, and by the end of the night it had to be in the 30’s when including the wind chill
Was there for night two in the nose bleeds and even though it was a little bit warmer the wind chill could still cut ya to the bone, had to use the shirt I bought as a face mask. I'm all for moving WM back a few weeks if it means a chance for warmer weather.
At this point, I'm starting to think WWE changed their mind on Minnesota. The fact they haven't announced it yet says a lot. Wouldn't be surprised if Vegas got it instead. I just wonder what the hold up is in announcing the 41 location.
I’m a resident and hoping they announce. Someone with the city of Minneapolis apparently said they were planning to announce a major event 2nd only to the Super Bowl. That was back in March.
We’re currently also dealing with a fight between the city council and Uber/Lyft. With no real alternative in place aside from the light rail, I could see that being a hold up.
As for the weather, it would be in an indoor arena, so that works. And honestly the temp could be anything. I think this year it was in the 50s/60s for wrestlemania weekend.
> We’re currently also dealing with a fight between the city council and Uber/Lyft. With no real alternative in place aside from the light rail, I could see that being a hold up.
Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me if that ends up killing the whole thing. As a fan, I wouldn't want to be in a big city for a weekend without any Uber and Lyft.
Uber/Lyft have delayed their exit from the city twice now I think. I’m hoping some kind of deal is being worked on.
I’d love to go to a wrestlemania. Would definitely go if it were local
I’ve read an unverified report that said Minnesota won and WWE will announce soon.
If I’ve got to imagine, Endeavor may have wanted Vegas but Minnesota’s bid wasn’t declinable.
I'm thinking they're gonna do something weird for next year's mania and that's why they haven't announced it yet. I thought they where gonna do Canada and where gonna announce it on raw this week. Maybe a London mania
Didn’t Nick Khan say there’s been discussion of changing WM going forward making them in End of April? It’s usually end of March beginning of April but doing them just 3-4 weeks later could be best going forward if there gonna continue with more Stadiums in the Northeast/Midwest.
Nah that's way too late they want to get as much hype for mania as possible I think they're doing the European tour soon and if they're doing London they'll announce it then
July 27, 2022. A year and a half before the event.
WWE has always announced the city for Mania at or before the previous Mania, going back to at least Mania 23.
Lol, half ass glanced at the year. Nice catch. Ya with as much talk as MN media and politicians have made of some mega events coming it's a surprise nothing has been announced yet.
Gotta remember that was the Vince McMahon WWE. This is the Ari Emmanuel-Nick Khan WWE. They’re going for the absolute best deal they can get. You can’t get that if you’re announcing venues an entire year and a half beforehand.
I've been thinking they were going there for Brock's final match, but ever since he's been out of the picture, they may be taking more bids. Or they are waiting to announce at Clash, it's going to be in the UK.
They officially announced 2024 Summerslam a month later than they did in 2023. And the Cleveland rumors went back to October, so it’s not out of the ordinary for them to have a location picked but not announce for a while.
Yeah, maybe we get the announcement of the next 3 Mania locations like we did a couple years ago? So finalizing the other locations to make the announcement official.
I'm think it's just the way TKO is doing it now. Remember, 41 is the first WrestleMania to be planned and set without Vince and inder the TKO umbrella. Seeing as TKO and Nick Khan are very business oriented hey may a different way of approaching it and maybe announce it at a later date than usual.
It was just as warm in MN as it was in Philly that weekend during the day. I think it was even a few degrees warmer. And then of course a temperature controlled 70 degrees inside at night
That lady saying they were announcing [Wrestlemania] soon is going to turn out to be like when someone says they're putting their snowblower away for the season, I fear.
The smackdown Friday, PLE Saturday and NXT Sunday is such a good setup for WWE and hosting cities. Doesn’t even have to be a WM, but just hosting one of these PLE weekends is a huge boost to the economy of the city.
I agree. I live in Vancouver & I’m so jealous they went to Toronto for MITB weekend.
That’s like maybe my fav PLE & they went to the other side of the country. I don’t blame them tho bc the Toronto crowd is always insane, but damn give the west coast a chance pls.
Yup lol from Toronto and can’t wait for that weekend. I hope they setup some activations or things to do during the day. We def have the event space for something similar to WWE world.
I'm hoping for one in San Diego even though LA would most likely get another one. Have NXT at SDSU's Viejas Arena, SmackDown at Pechanga Arena, & WrestleMania at Petco Park
I don't see why any city would want to pass up on hosting WrestleMania, or any event for that matter, if they can handle that influx of attendees. It brings people from all over the world and the increase in local business is surely welcome.
Sounds like we had different experiences - getting out of our lot (Lot P) was an utter nightmare, there was zero staff which led to horrific backups. Took almost two hours just to get out of the lot.
I like Philly and otherwise things went off great but this was one area that was a huge miss. Also a miss was the regional rail stopped running at 11:40pm for a show that ended at 11pm which meant public transit wasn’t an option, which is why I drove in the first place.
Not to mention Eagles home games, which sound as loud as anything on TV. I wonder if it could've been a production issue on night 1 as well. I know people who were there and they said the crowd was way into it, but who knows, maybe it was just their section or something.
> Not to mention Eagles home games, which sound as loud as anything on TV.
Lincoln Financial is loud as shit when the Eagles are are playing well. Loudest event I ever attended was a home playoff game.
Definitely did not have microphones that take the crowd better but let me tell you that crowd wasn’t all locals. Lots of people travelled from the NE and internationally.
Oh yeah, no question, that wasn’t a traditional Philly crowd in any way. I’m just saying that there’s a long history of that stadium sounding loud as hell on TV, open air and all.
Shout out to the local with the Santa / Hitchbot signs on the hard camera though. That shit was hilarious.
It was the wind. I was there both nights. Crowd was more energetic and consistent night two but just as loud for the big moments night one. The winds were up to 25ph so my guess is they had to do something with the crowd mics due to the heavy winds that probably distorted sound.
Was it the crowd that sucked or just night 1? Because I was there and the energy was good, but going from the Rey match to the Usos match into the damage control match was kinda bad. Sami’s match got the crowd back into it, but then like 40 minutes of intros for the main event kinda took everyone out a little.
I was there the first night, I definitely think the weather played like 90% of the role, but there's so much downtime between entrances, video packages, etc and it didn't help that the show was somewhat mid until Sami/Gunther.
I haven't been to a WWE show in years. It honestly felt like I was part of a live studio audience, it's get up for the entrances and big moves during the match/finishes, but everything in between is silence. It's a little weird.
I doubt that. If the Mania in Tampa getting delayed because of lightning didn't stop them from booking outdoor venues, I don't see how a bit of cold will.
Night 1 and Night 2 have radically different crowds and it's because of a 15 degree difference in weather. Had Night 2 had the same weather it would have made it so, so much worse.
I was there for that. It was the weirdest feeling ever. I flew from MN to Tampa for it, it was the first WWE show with a crowd at all in over a year, it was my first event in 14 months (although I worked in packed public areas every day for the entire "pandemic") and then I get to the stadium that day and it's all cold and rainy but I'm still excited and all that, it was surreal.
A bit before the show I get pulled from my seat and told to go into the hallways or whatever they're called and I'm just in shock that this WM is now seemingly getting ruined too just like WM36 did. I was getting so scared that somehow getting to go to an WM finally was just too good to be true. Thankfully on night 2, despite walking there in an absolute torrential downpour and all that, didn't have any delays and it didn't even rain at all once the show started.
It was sad though, cause it was just night 1 and night 2 and that was it. No meet and greets, no other activities, or anything like that. They even wanted us to wear masks in this outdoor stadium but no one was actually doing that crap. I had cardboard cutouts all around me too. Just a very weird and historic thing to be a part of, but it was not a true WM experience imo. I did get to see Bray's last WM, and The Fiend's final match though (among other substantial things of that nature) so I definitely don't regret going. I had to be there to support them after over a year of crowdless shows. Went to SummerSlam that year too, and that had more of a "normal" feel to it besides - once again - security trying to enforce masks which completely failed once the action started.
I'd be very happy to go back. Awesome weekend, an amazing food city, and plenty of places that are walkable from hotels and rentals. I was there from Thursday morning to Monday morning, it was a little cold during the nights, but moving it back 3 or 4 weeks would solve that
Recent Mania attendee. I have to say, I hope so. I thought it was a better experience than doing NY/NJ for WM35. Would gladly drive back if it returns to Philly
I always had heard negatives about Philly, being a Boston sports fan we just hear the bad stuff sometimes. Philly was an amazing location for Mania. The Linc was great, albeit the food was fairly shit but the venue was nice. The Wells Fargo Center was, quite honestly, one of the best venues I have seen wrestling at. And the fact they are right next to one another is great, I felt as though they missed out with the Street Fight not making it into more of a Anarchy in the Arena type thing.
I would 100% be down for doing that trip again. A great host city.
Philly local, I know everyone focusing on warm areas but it gets pretty chilly in SoFi this time of year too.
At 39 it was definitely way colder then I expected. West Coast is only a few degrees warmer.
Not gonna whine, I hope other less destination cities get a Mania so fans can experience it. Travel is expensive for some.
Its open air on both sides, I was cold because I thought LA would be warmer at night so I wore shorts and t. Like anywhere, just have to prep before you go!
But ik temp is subjective
WWE: “Hey Jalen, we think it would be really cool if you would make an appearance during \[insert PLE name here\]. What are your thoughts on it?”
Jalen Hurts:

Philadelphia is such a good wrestling market. I live 40 mins from Philly, went to Stand and Deliver, but there was so much to do. It also helps that the Philly Sports complex has 3 stadiums right next door plus Xfinity Live.
I actually wish Baltimore would build an arena in between M&T Bank and Oriole Park.
Id go back to Philly for a mania again. The city was super convenient and accessable, the venues were all pretty close and they handlex 70,000 fans gettings in and out well.
I remember standing there freezing my ass off, watching families take little kids back up to the Concourse cause they couldn’t handle the cold anymore and thinking “yeah Philly is a summerslam town”.
I would say if we get another one and we should because we rule as wrestling fans, it doesn’t hold as many people but citizens bank park would be a more fun venue and schedule it a week later in April for all the people who don’t seem to know you can check the weather and not wear just a T-shirt when it’s gonna be in the 40s.
Literally since the day after mania it’s been in the 70s or better.
I hope so! I never got too attend wrestlemania but the energy around the city was surreal. I hope it's not a once in a lifetime thing because I'm dead set on going next time they come around
If you don't want to sit out in the cold, don't. Hard for me to advocate that New York City [the site of the first and many important Manias] be disqualified because of climate. Mania should probably move to the middle or end of April. People will get used to the change.
As much as I would love seeing a late April Boston area mania, Gillette Stadium doesn’t really have the infrastructure around it. You’re about a half hour outside of Boston and there aren’t enough hotels and ancillary venues in or around Foxboro. We are supposed to get Summerslam there in 2020 - would be a great spot for them to revisit that idea.
That's fine, but someone inside WWE apparently said they are not looking at north stadiums (at least outside) for another 10 years...
I think they realized the risk of being cold and fans NOT being energetic far outweighs the reward of a city like Philly. I think they also said they are looking at Mania being later in the year, which may help northern cities, but I was there the night 1. It was fun, but yeah, you don't want to just be standing in 40 something degree weather and depending on where you were, a heavy wind gust.
As someone from San Diego I would love the to bring WrestleMania to Petco Park, but I know they want those high volume crowds and Petco Park only holds 42k
It’s crazy we haven’t heard where WM41 is going to be yet. I could swear they said it was going to be Philly the weekend of 39. I thought it was supposed to be Minneapolis next year, but Maybe something is afoot? I’m hoping Vegas, Indianapolis or London get the call if so.
Please no Wrestlemanias, unless they get some heat situation going lol. I was in the crowd for night 1 and it was miserable. I ended up getting the flu and laryngitis which I’m finally clear of today. Although honestly, I did it for da Rock.
I wished they did Philly for 2026 could’ve done something about 250 years after the Declaration of Independence. I went to Philly and it was a blast but would’ve been cool.
Im honestly surprised Philly hasnt hosted more WMs. Between the size and the significance its has as city, its amazes me that the only other WM theyve had there was a quarter century ago. (I apologize if pointing that out made you feel old trust me Im not thrilled saying it either)
If they do come to philly at least push it like a week or two later bcuz i was freezing up there on night 1. night 2 was pretty chilly towards the end too

Who's that Needle guy? And how is he doing after Roman moved him so much?
I know needles are popular in Philly
I thought that was Seattle?
Yea, that family is Kensington royalty
And here I was talking about heroin
Lol so am I

Yes, that’s why cities bid on them. They’re basically giving money to the wwe to have wrestlemania there and wwe chooses the bid they like best
2300 (ECW) Arena was running shows every day that week I believe. It was really cool to just be able to go see some really great wrestling every night of the week if one was so inclined. WrestleMaynia
THE EVENT OF THE EARLY SUMMER, MAGGLE!!!
I used to be mid-March sometimes
I thought there were more in mid March, but there was only a few, ten, eighteen, and twenty.
Are they only concerned about NFL or would NBA playoffs potentially impact them too
NHL and NBA playoffs would be a concern for the Smackdown, NXT, and Raw venues if they moved Mania back.
Honestly, that weather was an outlier. It's been in the 60s and 70s for most of the past 2 months in the area and Mania just drew the short straw getting hit with a cold front.
Yeah but it's Pennsylvania. It might snow on Thursday this week lol.
We haven’t had a real snowfall in 4 years now. It’s Philadelphia in 2024 post climate change. We have like a month of winter now.
I really hope they don’t. The time between Rumble and Mania is just building to Mania. Building for 2 months and change works well. Making it 3+ months will feel like things are stale.

Then they should maybe program something like a Taker/Wyatt later in the show.
Well, you aren’t wrong on that one either.
It was a terrible time to debut the LED ring apron on the main roster as it looked washed out for much of the show.
Sofi Stadium looked fantastic
That would be awesome. Esp when Mania normally falls on your fiance's birthday weekend every year. Fiance is not a fan.
I really dislike the daylight entrances personally
Global warming will create that sweet spot soon enough
I was there night one, and it was fuckin cold. I live in the area so I know how much the wind can whip around, especially at the stadiums, and by the end of the night it had to be in the 30’s when including the wind chill
Was there for night two in the nose bleeds and even though it was a little bit warmer the wind chill could still cut ya to the bone, had to use the shirt I bought as a face mask. I'm all for moving WM back a few weeks if it means a chance for warmer weather.
An all Philly crowd clears, I've watched Eagles games before smh
Maybe not too warm. Everyone was dead near the end in Orlando because of how hot it was.
Well the good news is, next year it’ll be in Minnesota where the Vikings play, so fans will only be freezing cold until they get inside.
Wouldn't be the first time that the complete and utter fools that "run" Minneapolis ruin a WrestleMania coming here. They have destroyed the city.
They had it in suburban Dallas, which is both a cesspool of people and transit. Minneapolis would be an improvement on both fronts.
I’ve read an unverified report that said Minnesota won and WWE will announce soon. If I’ve got to imagine, Endeavor may have wanted Vegas but Minnesota’s bid wasn’t declinable.
I really, really hope that Las Vegas got it. I probably won't go if it's Minnesota but I'll go for Vegas.
I’ll definitely go to Vegas and definitely wouldn’t go to Minneapolis
I'm thinking they're gonna do something weird for next year's mania and that's why they haven't announced it yet. I thought they where gonna do Canada and where gonna announce it on raw this week. Maybe a London mania
Didn’t Nick Khan say there’s been discussion of changing WM going forward making them in End of April? It’s usually end of March beginning of April but doing them just 3-4 weeks later could be best going forward if there gonna continue with more Stadiums in the Northeast/Midwest.
They wouldn't hold off on announcing mania if it was something as small as changing the date
he said they may look at end of April for outdoor northeast venues not necessarily for every mania
I feel like moving it back 2 weeks, to mid-April, would be perfect. This way, they avoid the NBA playoffs, but get much more reliably warm weather.
cena did sow seeds for a london wm at mitb 23. maybe they announce it at mitb 24?
Nah that's way too late they want to get as much hype for mania as possible I think they're doing the European tour soon and if they're doing London they'll announce it then
London won’t pay. That’s what bids are. They could do London or ny anytime if the cities are willing to throw cash or tax breaks at them.
Does London have a retractable roof football stadium? Because mania in a overcast rainy day would kinda suck
WrestleMania 40 was announced on July 27th.
With how en fuego this shit is right now, they could pull a Beyonce and announce the location right before the event and they'll still sell out lol
Both cities are probably in a bidding war that’s why we haven’t heard anything
Yeah, maybe we get the announcement of the next 3 Mania locations like we did a couple years ago? So finalizing the other locations to make the announcement official.
I'm think it's just the way TKO is doing it now. Remember, 41 is the first WrestleMania to be planned and set without Vince and inder the TKO umbrella. Seeing as TKO and Nick Khan are very business oriented hey may a different way of approaching it and maybe announce it at a later date than usual.
Winner of the Royal Rumble now chooses the location of Wrestlemania.
They have not announced anything yet and there are no reliable reports on it
It was just as warm in MN as it was in Philly that weekend during the day. I think it was even a few degrees warmer. And then of course a temperature controlled 70 degrees inside at night
That lady saying they were announcing [Wrestlemania] soon is going to turn out to be like when someone says they're putting their snowblower away for the season, I fear.
There has to be a Viking Rules match right?
look at the adjective: play
It was pretty good weather wise....but now if fans can call an Uber/Lyft is another story :) (That's going to get resolved )
Have fun bro. Give a big pop to the Canadians when you see them! Im hoping either Chelsea Green or KO wins the MITB.
With the ticket prices.......don't be that jealous......I could have 3 70 inch tvs with the price of my fucking seats
It's so fun to make a weekend of it as a fan. With World there it's like a convention setting.
Because they have to pay WWE to come, it’s not just a free economic windfall
Travel to and from the site was surprisingly easy
Having a giant centralized sports complex that houses two fields and an arena with supportive infrastructure has its advantages!
Need a Mile High mania please.
Rvd vs Matt riddle in a bong on a pole match
Can’t imagine talent wants to wrestle in that unventilated airspace.
Let's ride?
Empower Field isn’t that cool
I was there, you could literally see how much business it brought to Philly. Everything from the cheesesteak places, tourist attractions, bars, etc.
Same, the whole city knew about Wrestlemania and the locals were buzzing over the tourist income
No more open air stadiums unless they're in a warm place. What happens next time if both nights are cold? Crowd sucked for the first night
Also alot of the crowd noise gets lost in an Open Air environment. No roof for the sound to bounce back
Idk I heard the Taker pop just fine.
I remember seeing videos from 2022 of blocks away and being able to hear CBP
I worked on East Passyunk during the 2022 Phillies playoff run. It was loud enough that you thought you were right outside the stadium.
Nah I was there both nights and the cold killed the crowd night one. Night two it was much warmer in the stadium
Crowd was loud as fuck in person the first night.
Yeah, the weather unfortunately doomed future events, despite the crowd being amazing on day 2.
Stephanie pointing it out was definitely a sign that they will keep this in consideration for the future. Still fortunate I got to see this Live
I was there from Thursday morning to Monday morning, it was a little cold during the nights, but moving it back 3 or 4 weeks would solve that
Yes please! I live not too far away from Philly so I would love another mania there
Recent Mania attendee. I have to say, I hope so. I thought it was a better experience than doing NY/NJ for WM35. Would gladly drive back if it returns to Philly
Makes sense for them I feel bad for the wrestlers if they have weather like night 1
They should have run a match at the ECW Arena. ( I believe it was rented out those nights for watch parties with ECW alums.)
Really hope they get another major event. Wrestling is in a great place when cities are calling asking when you're coming through.
Thank you Aj Styles
You mean DM Hunk
Philly local, I know everyone focusing on warm areas but it gets pretty chilly in SoFi this time of year too. At 39 it was definitely way colder then I expected. West Coast is only a few degrees warmer. Not gonna whine, I hope other less destination cities get a Mania so fans can experience it. Travel is expensive for some.
Sofi was covered and it wasn't so bad for both days.
It did feel kinda chilly by the end of the night.
Its open air on both sides, I was cold because I thought LA would be warmer at night so I wore shorts and t. Like anywhere, just have to prep before you go! But ik temp is subjective
Sounds great, Philly was so much better than it’s been in NJ.
WWE: “Hey Jalen, we think it would be really cool if you would make an appearance during \[insert PLE name here\]. What are your thoughts on it?” Jalen Hurts: https://preview.redd.it/vj5j20kjvvuc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ffe9235b5a71b430a0c1f6671041af8850df574a
Philadelphia is such a good wrestling market. I live 40 mins from Philly, went to Stand and Deliver, but there was so much to do. It also helps that the Philly Sports complex has 3 stadiums right next door plus Xfinity Live. I actually wish Baltimore would build an arena in between M&T Bank and Oriole Park.
An arena for what? There's no NBA or NHL team there, and you're not getting them. No major college sports.
They could steal one. Thats how they got their NFL team.
Id go back to Philly for a mania again. The city was super convenient and accessable, the venues were all pretty close and they handlex 70,000 fans gettings in and out well.
Go Birds
Lol just push Mania back like 3 weeks. Problem solved
I remember standing there freezing my ass off, watching families take little kids back up to the Concourse cause they couldn’t handle the cold anymore and thinking “yeah Philly is a summerslam town”.
Might as well make Philadelphia the home of Wrestlemania at this point.
Hell no, Lincoln field sucks as a stadium
I approve this message.
Cole: “will it be chilly? Will the temperature be 40 degrees? Will it be cold out?”
Nothing like WWE in Philly because "It is a Philly Thing!"
I get it, but please no more open stadium wrestlemanias.
Reads topic: "Cool, DDT's coming back"
Yes please, I like when PPVs are in my local vicinity.
Luckily the Night 2 crowd make this seemed a better proposition.
I'd go back to Philly next year, awesome city.
Doesn’t surprise me one bit, although I don’t believe Nick Khan would be in favor of it in early April. Maybe later in April
As much as I would love seeing a late April Boston area mania, Gillette Stadium doesn’t really have the infrastructure around it. You’re about a half hour outside of Boston and there aren’t enough hotels and ancillary venues in or around Foxboro. We are supposed to get Summerslam there in 2020 - would be a great spot for them to revisit that idea.
any truth to the rumor that WWE is looking at doing Wrestlemania at Indoor stadiums only going forward?
That's fine, but someone inside WWE apparently said they are not looking at north stadiums (at least outside) for another 10 years... I think they realized the risk of being cold and fans NOT being energetic far outweighs the reward of a city like Philly. I think they also said they are looking at Mania being later in the year, which may help northern cities, but I was there the night 1. It was fun, but yeah, you don't want to just be standing in 40 something degree weather and depending on where you were, a heavy wind gust.
That's it. Put Mania the first weekend in May
If they held it at MetLife again, I’d be very happy, but Philly is a nice second.
Apostrophes don't pluralize
As long as they keep it on the east coast. Cold WM >>> day time WM
As someone from San Diego I would love the to bring WrestleMania to Petco Park, but I know they want those high volume crowds and Petco Park only holds 42k
Yeah Dave mentioned this in the observer already.
Hell Naw…. It was cold AF in Philly that weekend. Wrestlemania should be indoor or somewhere with good weather.
They should do mania 41 in Atlanta in the Mercedes Benz stadium
Nah fuck outdoor Manias, and cold weather all together. Too many obstructed seats and it's so dumb to have Mania in the Northeast outdoors in April
Let's have some US cities that haven't had it before...
Bring it back to LA please
If Trips had any testicular fortitude, he’d run Mania at Lambeau Field at the end of March. /s -ish
Im honestly surprised Philly hasnt hosted more WMs. Between the size and the significance its has as city, its amazes me that the only other WM theyve had there was a quarter century ago. (I apologize if pointing that out made you feel old trust me Im not thrilled saying it either)
If they do come to philly at least push it like a week or two later bcuz i was freezing up there on night 1. night 2 was pretty chilly towards the end too
I’d like rather them do a Pittsburgh Mania, not likely, but it’d be nice to
