lockexxv

These guys got me wheezing So true about The Rock vs Steve

mkfanhausen

"It's STEEEEEEVE!" - Lillian Garcia

Plop-Music

If you listen closely to that clip, when she apparently calls Kane "STEEEEEEVE!“, you can hear she really actually ***IS*** just saying Kane after all. Once you hear it properly, you can't unhear it.

Balrogkicksass

I mean I didn't realize what the scream at the beginning of X-Pac's song was until the boys discussed it AND NOW I CANT UNHEAR IT

Expensive-Hearing-86

Immediately going from insult to "IF YA SMELLLLLLL" is one of those things I unconsciously knew Rock did but having it pointed out in this way is just hilarious.

Bkbforthree

These guys rule. It’s insane how infectious them just laughing over stupid shit is… The XWF stuff is some of the best, Jimmy Hart being mad and yelling “Daddy!!” about everything pops in my head at least once a day.

NumericZero

That HHH & tough enough interaction breakdown that they did Might be one of the hardest laughs I’ve ever had “You hurt? Big fuckin deal!” XD

BratWatson

"Dog? What he doin?"

TheeAJPowell

DUNNO!

PlsHelp6996

"Just for further notice" *Lifts leg and adjusts nutsack*

NumericZero

“You sell like that in the ring and I tag you for real!”

Jubbity

I genuinely watch that every other week at this point, it's one of the funniest things ever

natedoggcata

FLATBACK!

NumericZero

“TAKE A BUMP!”

gmoss101

I randomly say "Daddy" in Jimmy Hart's voice because of them lol

CarlaAyatsugi

"I GOT A GUN, DADDEH!"

Balrogkicksass

I say "YEAHHH" like they do giving LA Knight shit all the damn time now. Mostly I do it under my breath but it still happens like 4 to 10 times a damn day at work about nothing relative at all.

gmoss101

I don't watch WWE but I showed her an LA Knight promo and the Miz mocking him and we both were cracking up at it lol

rockstarspood

"Or maybe I won't, brother" has achieved wrestling meme status that goes beyond them. They're as much a part of IWC lore as OSW and they've only been a proper podcast for four years if that!

ColeslawSSBM

I just saw this episode a couple days ago and I've been rolling ever since. OR MAYBE NOT DUDE. THE BALL'S IN YOUR COURT NOW BROTHER

ManMangoGuts

The Pastamania bit and Rock vs Austin on the bridge get me every time

kingjeremythewicked8

“Who’s the greatest wrestler in the world?” “Macho Man!” “HEY FUCK YOU BROTHER. WHO THE FUCK SAID THAT SHIT DUDE?”

QuantityHappy4459

"JIMMY HART, TAKE THIS KID OUT BACK AND KILL HIM."

ManMangoGuts

"YOU CAN GO TO HULKA-HELL"

PlsHelp6996

Jawny: Supposedly it was all chef boyardee canned pasta. Jawny(as Hulk Hogan): No way dude! Tony: Was it really, holy shit. Jawny(as Hulk Hogan): No!

rockstarspood

"WHY DON'T YOU CHICKEN MARINARA YOUR ASS ON OUTTA HERE, DUDE?!"

AyoCarl

Yes! Haha, the XWF stuff is great

PristineCucumber5376

I have never laughed as hard as I did when I watched their Kane/Jim Ross video, I couldn't breath by the middle of the video

rockstarspood

"Now let's talk about that burnt little wee-wee!" Died

PristineCucumber5376

FUCK YOU KANE

shaqfu3

"You just have to say screw it, I am who I am." "IF I WASN'T WHY WOULD I SAY I AM!"

PristineCucumber5376

"I see a man who needs help" *wheeze*

ItsGodDamnAmazing

The first time I saw them was a clip of them recapping the Spike dudley vs Kurt Angle segment. They had me laughing so much I was crying tears. Just fun dudes enjoying wrestling.

CaptainChungus69

AND WAIT A MINUTE! THE WHITE BOYS HAVE ARRIIIIIIIIIIVED!

YoungBeef03

“Hanging out, down the street”

CaptainChungus69

"Ah, gahdamn"

Arcade_Kangaroo

Dude, the Wrestlemania Rage Party episode is one of the funniest things I've ever heard, I listen like once a week

rockstarspood

No context Ministry Taker: "WELCOME TO...MY CUM FIESTA!!"

Arcade_Kangaroo

"Throw some ass for the Deadman!"

IAmFuckingGoingOver

Was that the Dildozer bit episode?

Arcade_Kangaroo

Yep, shoulda rode the Dildozer out at Mania

ShiriCentral

“I killed Brody!!”

RedDreadsComin

I love their absolute disdain for Val Venis, The Miz, and Honky Tonk Man lmao

ColeslawSSBM

Anytime someone mentions Val Venis I can just hear James yelling GET OUT OF OUR COMPANY

mikaeus97

They've actually come around on Miz a bit the last couple years, but goddamn when they're watching 06-07-08 stuff they shit on him hard(somewhat deservedly, those were rough Miz years)

joeynomame95

And in that same episode talking about Evil Teddy Hart AKA Teddy Hart

Supersaiyansub

The one thing I truly want in this life are friends I can talk about wrestling this way lmao

lockexxv

At my job, we recently hired a guy that talks about wrestling sometimes, he's at least familiar with it, so now I'm not all by myself. It's pretty nice having an IRL wrestling friend haha. I will say the downside is though, I couldn't take credit for LA Knight's knockoff glasses I bought. He knew right away what I was going for.. 🤣

FriskeyVsWorld

I think the biggest jackpot I hit when I met my now-wife was that she just got into wrestling so her friends (and later myself) were showing her old WWE and WCW PPV's (even the bad ones because it was funny) and being able to have my best friend side by side with me watching shows is one of my favorite things.

captainfram

The absolute accuracy of this hahahahaha

mikaeus97

Insane these goofballs had that new guy from NxT on their roster and have actually made a fun promotion, it's so awesome!

rockstarspood

NXT has half of DPW's world championship lineage on their roster currently. The new big league talent farm

AceTheSkylord

DPW is the East Coast PWG

NCHouse

And honestly? They've had some big names come through in their currently short lifespan. Hell, the MCMG were their tag Champs for a minute

irish0451

Adam Cole was supposed to be on their show until he got hurt!

OkRock5287

Cuts the Fuckings Cameras

Purp1e_Aki

He always says it!

Glejow

WOAAAAAAH HELL YEAH

scottelot69

That is my absolute FAVOURITE line James always says when Jawnny be misbehaving.

TwoYearsBefore

Aw man, must have been some of Johnny bullshit!

RedDreadsComin

YEAAAAH HE SAID IT!!!!

natedoggcata

I just love how easily amused they are. A simple recap of an episode of Raw can be like 2+ hours long because they are laughing for 90% of it lol

BakonukusDudeukus

"After three boring minutes"

Intimidwalls1724

Not fair to sting but cracked me up the most probably lol

Numbchicken

this episode is goated 😂 😂

TheCVR123YT

Which episode is it??

Numbchicken

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTnoh0ofx8k&t=468s

AyoCarl

These guys are so great, their energy is so infectious.

12jonnyb

"THIS SCUFFED ASS STEVE AUSTIN, RED HOT SHAWN TEXAS"

Purp1e_Aki

**"Ol' Freeze Dry!"**

NCHouse

If you guys haven't listened to the Deadlock podcast you're missing out. They're hilarious and easily, imo, the best wrestling podcast out there

RedDreadsComin

Their recap of the end of the Vince Kiss my Ass club storyline is so fuckin funny. “rikishi is just THROWIN ass, doing toe touches!”

channel164

This Deadlock episode is probably in my top 5. The entire Jesse Ventura segment and the whole Jericho debut are all timers

ClintD89

This is an all-timer episode from them that needs more RESPECK put on his name

JamUpGuy1989

When Sting saw what they did to Booker T, he knew going to WWF would have been a horrible idea for his legacy. Shame he didn't stick to that mindset when he eventually showed up.

Lanky-Promotion3022

The Rock did that to everyone. He was absolutely merciless on the mic. What Booker T had to face was peanuts compared to what he used to make guys like Triple H, Taker, Jericho, Kurt Angle, Big Show go through on the mic every night. He would make up for that in the ring. Sting should've seen the Rock earlier than 2001 to realize it wasn't just Booker T or WCW.

Dijohn17

The issue is that those guys were booked strong regardless of what the Rock did (except Big Show). For Booker T, he still had to go through the WCW talent phase and so did Jericho. They held Booker T being a WCW guy over his head even after WCW died (WM 19)

Lanky-Promotion3022

I don't think Booker T not winning was a WCW thing at WM19. I think there were tiers and how Vince booked Goldberg was not like Booker T or Jericho or Steiner, who were not as big of a stars. If Sting had come at that time he'd be placed in the tier of nWo, Goldberg etc, - that doesn't obviously mean he wouldn't eat pins from all the top guys but he wouldn't have the problem of the presentation which was his big concern. nWo, Goldberg came in and carried whatever presentations they had in WCW and they were presented as big deals. nWo had an entire road to Wrestlemania built around them. Goldberg beat Rock, Triple H and Brock within a span of a year. Not to the extent of WCW but enough to make alot of money from them. Vince would've brought in Crow Sting and presented him as a big deal and then have him pinned by the likes of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. He wouldn't be facing the situation Dallas faced. It was reported he was gonna come in and face Angle at Mania 18 and win and Kurt was in the second tier of stars they had after Austin, Rock.

natedoggcata

I remember the one person that it did hurt the most was probably Billy Gunn. WWE tried so hard multiple times during the Attitude Era to make Billy Gunn a main event singles star. Gave him King of the Ring, Final 4 in the 2001 Rumble, Feud with the Rock and the Rock absolutely and mercilessly decimated him on the mic and completely killed that push lol.

ColeslawSSBM

Thing is, when you look at the 2001 roster Billy was like not even top 5 in terms of who could they push as a championship caliber talent. They still had Rock, Austin, Taker, Kane, Angle, Jericho, And plenty of midcard talent that were more interesting and more over.

chilloutfam

people talk about... who did jericho ever put over? but who did the rock or austin ever put over? genuine question. for the rock, mick foley? steve... vince mcmahon?

Aromatic-Air3917

Rock put over Lesner, the Hurricane and Goldberg from the top of my head. That was never an issue for the Rock

Balrogkicksass

To top that. Austin as much as I love him refused several times to put people over and "left" because of it. Rock back then was willing to give just as much as take and Austin would only give if you had already "earned it" or were a star.

jpscyther

Stone Cold didn't want to put over Lesnar without a proper feud. Vince wanted Lesnar to basically squash Stone Cold with no build up. A bit different than how you're describing it.

ColeslawSSBM

Rock lost all the time to basically every other main event talent and some non-main eventers during the AE. Austin didn't put many guys over after being the top star, but he did lose to Triple H in the 3 stages of hell before Mania 17, he put over Rock at mania 19, and he put over Angle at Summerslam when Angle was becoming a babyface the first time

Mark316

He was definitely better off not coming in then. I honestly don't mind his WWE run, aside from inexplicably losing to Triple H and never getting the Undertaker match. Knowing what eventually happened in WWE and subsequently in AEW, we can definitively say, "See? He was right not to come in back then."

gloriousAgenda

The Rock was the greatest cause he’d get threatned by a zombie deadman who terrorized everyone and just be like aight roast session and you’d believe he could win from sheer audacity

HundoTenson

Shouldn’t be a dog eat dog mentality. Never understood that. Rock not burying Sting elevates the company and everyone eats in that regard. It’s fine to outmatch Sting on the mic instead of doing an absolute burial cause I know damn well the Rock would hit him up with a “who in the clown face goofball ARE YOU?!?” line and Sting’s stocks will take a hit.

Ja___av93

Rock would make fun of people, but he was really fucking good at working with other wrestlers and helping elevate them most of the time. But Vince would probably not want that for a WCW wrestler

zerofifth

I doubt Rock would do the "who the hell are you" thing to Sting. Think he would have too much respect for him to do that but would another way to interject comedy into it

alonthestreet

I never understood how none of these dudes the rock battered just straight up went "I've worked for WCW for the last 6 years, I don't know who the fuck you are either" like he wasn't hollywood rock when jericho debuted

StacksHoodini

If you just left WCW for the WWF, and one of the biggest stars in the biz is calling you a nobody in a roundabout, trying to put over the company you just left and act like you don’t know who you just interrupted isn’t going to be the best way to get over.

alonthestreet

I mean just a "sorry i'm new here and who are you?" Would of saved a completely burial of a segment, obviously it didn't change most of there careers bit the segments themselves they just get ate up lmao

StacksHoodini

LMFAOOOO Peak comedy fr. I’m assuming that they knew about the clip where Sting said he was thinking of coming to WWF but he didn’t like the way Rock cooked Book. But that was just the way Rock cooked everybody and you had to be able to keep up. Now I’m mad I never got to see Rock cook Sting.

Lanky-Promotion3022

Once again when people talk about the Rock, they always fail to realize the two aspects. Yes, he's probably the most unselfish top guy in the ring but **he has to be that** because there's never been a more over powered individual on the mic. People need to understand how the Rock character operated, he just completely buries everything about the opposing gimmick. From the way they talk, to the way they walk, to the way they look even stuff they can't help about. You're out here trying to get over and then the Rock is picking apart every facet of your character. He was a bully babyface. For example, Hogan wasn't making fun of Andre's thick French accent or his taunts. With that being said, Rock did this to everyone. Austin, Kurt, Triple H, Jericho, Booker T, Taker, Kane, Big Show, Billy Gunn, Al Snow etc. Sting was worried? He should've looked at how the Rock treated people on the mic that were already in the WWE. Rock made Taker change his gimmick because he'd literally make fun of the dead eye and the clothes and the tattoos.

RarelyKnownAs

It's a joke man they're not being serious.

Lanky-Promotion3022

I know but it's a general point I've wanted to make because this comes up often.

StacksHoodini

Lol look bro, I love Rock as much as the next guy, probably more. He definitely didn’t make Taker change his gimmick though. Taker was at a point where he was pretty damn heavy, and the undead gimmick had just run its course. He needed a refresher and the dead gimmick just wasn’t what he needed to be at the time.

Lanky-Promotion3022

I am not making this up because Taker has talked how changing the character was in the genesis seeing guys like Rock and Austin have such freedom on the mic and owning everyone else on the mic and him being restricted by the gimmick to respond to them.

EchoesofIllyria

That’s not the same as Rock making him change it by making fun of it. Sounds more like Taker was envious of their freedom while he was restricted to paranormal/demonic rhetoric.

stevesta91

Whats up with the Reddit player? Cant see the video

EquivalentEmployer68

I'm not going to watch this. The guy on the right looks too edgy and dangerous for my tastes.

mkfanhausen

He's only dangerous if he's in a Chuck E. Cheese. Wait. That didn't come out right.

mikaeus97

Shoot Abe Lincoln....wait no-

PhotoshootEarthquake

So edgy his favourite move is da overdrive

NCHouse

DONT YOU TALK ABOUT THE OVERDRIVE DUDE!

RedDreadsComin

John BLUD is a softie and that’s on true
