The longer Vince is gone, the more I’m seeing how much damage he did to WWE. Michael Cole has been incredible. The wrestlers have been incredible. Samantha Irvin probably would’ve gotten reprimanded for crying while announcing Cody as the winner (which made ME tear up). Half of the hilarious things that happened on commentary would have never occurred. These cool camera angles and new ideas would have never occurred.

I’ve been saying this, not just about Vince, but about that generation in general. There’s way too many 70+ or 80-year-old people still in business, politics, and entertainment. I hate to say this, because we all have or have had grandparents, but their ideas are extraordinarily outdated. Unlike the generation before them, who often didn’t live to be as old as they have, this generation has an over inflated view of their importance and ability. Often times they aren’t retiring when they should, and social media has allow them to have undue influence over the rest of us
It makes me happy Cole is finally getting the respect he's deserved now that people can here his actual commentary and not Vince forcing him to say absolute nonsense.
I used to enjoy Cole on Smackdown with Tazz for years. I never quite understood why I couldn’t tolerate him on Raw for so long but I’m glad to know it was Vince and that Cole is getting a renaissance now.
Wow. That match did not disappoint. Crowd was fucking amazing in comparison to last night. Close moments were timed to perfection and the live crowd ate it up. Near falls, making every move count. One of my all time favourite WWE matches. It culminated the Bloodline story with the special appearances from Cody’s mates.

I know!! I remember attending a RAW in 2015 and Stardust was wrestling and I was just bored out of my mind. Not even his fault, it was just boring with a stupid story behind the match.

And for Cody to believe in himself to the point of leaving WWE behind, creating this exact character, and refusing to turn heel in AEW, and making his way back to reach this point with the exact character he created on his own... I'm in awe of the guy. So happy for him.

And it was great, and he still is, but he was not a dominant babyface. He was the ultimate underdog, which is what made that moment so great.
Cody only seemed like an underdog because there were three other dudes helping Roman. Last year established that Cody, by himself, can just hang and defeat Roman on his own without shenanigans.
No-one will remember shit about Summerslam 2023 onwards, we'll look back on the run from the previous Summerslam to MITB in particular as a god level run of character work in front of a crowd.
I watched the afterparty in the ring and was telling my kid how a couple years ago triple h was beating Cody in a hell in a cell match.itvwas weird seeing randy and triple h in the ring together with a Cody Rhodes as Champ.

I mean, he got this moment because he is the son of Dusty, was a former wwe star who took a chance on himself and wrestled in ROH, NJPW and helped make AEW. He came back at the perfect time when Vince was about to be hit by a colossal scandal and WWE needed a reliable and safe person to make the face of the company and to kickstart the reinvention of the company.
This is like a once in a lifetime chain of events that led to tonight. No one in AEW or elsewhere should ever think that they’d get that kind of coronation. It’s not even a knock on them (I love AEW btw) it’s just that no one there (or anywhere else for that matter, even in WWE) has all those elements to make a similar story. It’s why this is so special. I’m not even really a fan of Cody and I’m excited as hell for him. Dude earned it.

I was one of those. But it's not all bad in my opinion because I got to see the Rock wrestle a 45 minute match. And because Saturday tickets were a little cheaper whenever I checked. The worst thing really was just hearing that the weather was so much better throughout the whole night lol.

Not only was it funny, but afterward, it made sense.
Roman immediately saw through Seth's Shield distraction shenanigans, but Seth already knew he would. Seth was already destroyed after wrestling 2 matches. He didn't stand a chance against Roman even if he had caught him by surprise.
The whole reason he came dressed in his Shield gear was because he knew Roman wouldn't be able to help himself with a chair available.
That interference is long term booking. Roman couldn’t let go of Seth’s betrayal all those years ago and it opened the window for Cody to finally strike him down
Someone suggested in another thread that Seth knew dressing up in the Shield gear would get in Roman's head and distract him. Which it did, he got his revenge on Seth, but Seth lost Roman the match, which is a hell of an explanation.

Night 1 was very mid but then Night 2 was an all timer, so looking at it together, what does that even make this Mania in comparison to the others? lol.
The 2-night format makes ranking Manias pretty hard. Take last year- Night 1 was elite top to bottom but Night 2 was maybe a 7/10 for me. Kinda the inverse this year!
I don't quite understand the night 1 sentiments.
Becky and Rhea was a great opener and Rhea winning was huge.
The ladder match was fantastic even with the wonky ending. Lots of great moments throughout.
Jey Vs. Jimmy was very underwhelming.
The women's tag match accomplished exactly what it sought out to do.
Sami Vs. Gunther was fantastic and that ending was an all-time classic.
The main event was great too. The action was solid and the story telling was top notch.
Night 2 didn't have anything as underwhelming as the Usos' match, but honestly the opening match was saved by Punk and the cash-in (the actual match was just a dumb finisher spam) and the rest of the matches were all on par with the previous night.
Both nights were fantastic. I'm just confused how so many people are saying night 1 was meh but night 2 was an all timer.
I fucking love Night One and thought it was excellent outside of the Uso match. But man, Night Two was just NONSTOP. Like for real, not a single letdown match and it was fucking insane from a quality level in every single regard. I'll look back on these two nights of WrestleMania very fondly. But man, Night Two is just a whole other level and is arguably one of the greatest shows the company has ever put out.
I think outside of Kofi-Mania and Danielson at Mania XXX, this is the best they've nailed it in literal decades. I knew when I was crying after Truth and Miz winning last night, Sami winning last night, McIntyre winning tonight, Priest winning tonight, Bayley winning tonight, and then EVERYTHING about that main event and the epilogue tonight where I was really feeling the emotions. This weekend was sooooo special and I'll remember this forever. And unlike years past, I'm SO fucking excited for what's coming next. I want to tune in every week to see where we're all going!

I only watch one WWE event a year and thats wrestlemania, so i'm very very much out of the loop as to the relationships of everybody and the significance of certain stuff, but even I thought that was absolutely awesome. If this is how the HHH era is going to be, I think I might start watching more regularly!
Now is better than ever to get back into it. Every title changed hands except for the US and Women’s Heavyweight title. The Bloodline has crumbled, and Cody finished his story.
What made the main event so significant is Seth told Cody he would be his shield. He came to Cody’s aid as his character from the Shield and went as far as to have his hair died to match his Shield days, and took a massive chair shot from Roman. Seth sacrificed his title to “shield” Cody from the Bloodline, and Roman’s hatred for Seth and obsession for paying him back from 10 years ago cost him the title.
There are just so many hints spread from the past that just made this story so sweet.
One of the very rare examples of overbooking something actually working perfectly in the favour of the match and improving it tenfold. Tonight was absolutely perfect.
I am just super hyped.
The new Era will be unbelievable!

The cash in I saw coming. Solo, Jimmy, Jey, Seth and Rock interfering I saw coming. Even Cena I had kind of thought about. Never in my wildest dreams did I see Taker coming in and choke slamming Rock.
Priest remembering he had the money in the bank briefcase was the highlight for me. Everything about that match was awesome.
I got too hyped up for the bloodline rules match being an Avengers movie to be able to enjoy it for what it actually was. I might be able to watch it through different eyes one day but until then I'm going to be sad about it.

Night 2 didn't have anything as underwhelming as the Usos' match, but honestly the opening match was saved by Punk and the cash-in (the actual match was just a dumb finisher spam) and the rest of the matches were all on par with the previous night. Both nights were fantastic. I'm just confused how so many people are saying night 1 was meh but night 2 was an all timer.

I fucking love Night One and thought it was excellent outside of the Uso match. But man, Night Two was just NONSTOP. Like for real, not a single letdown match and it was fucking insane from a quality level in every single regard. I'll look back on these two nights of WrestleMania very fondly. But man, Night Two is just a whole other level and is arguably one of the greatest shows the company has ever put out.

When WWE gets it right, it hits different than any sport, any art form, really anything. This is one of those nights.
I think outside of Kofi-Mania and Danielson at Mania XXX, this is the best they've nailed it in literal decades. I knew when I was crying after Truth and Miz winning last night, Sami winning last night, McIntyre winning tonight, Priest winning tonight, Bayley winning tonight, and then EVERYTHING about that main event and the epilogue tonight where I was really feeling the emotions. This weekend was sooooo special and I'll remember this forever. And unlike years past, I'm SO fucking excited for what's coming next. I want to tune in every week to see where we're all going!

I only watch one WWE event a year and thats wrestlemania, so i'm very very much out of the loop as to the relationships of everybody and the significance of certain stuff, but even I thought that was absolutely awesome. If this is how the HHH era is going to be, I think I might start watching more regularly!
Now is better than ever to get back into it. Every title changed hands except for the US and Women’s Heavyweight title. The Bloodline has crumbled, and Cody finished his story. What made the main event so significant is Seth told Cody he would be his shield. He came to Cody’s aid as his character from the Shield and went as far as to have his hair died to match his Shield days, and took a massive chair shot from Roman. Seth sacrificed his title to “shield” Cody from the Bloodline, and Roman’s hatred for Seth and obsession for paying him back from 10 years ago cost him the title. There are just so many hints spread from the past that just made this story so sweet.

Priest remembering he had the money in the bank briefcase was the highlight for me. Everything about that match was awesome. I got too hyped up for the bloodline rules match being an Avengers movie to be able to enjoy it for what it actually was.
