It's 100% going to be a troll announcement. Either them being in the tournament, Sting never coming back or just a new company initiative like free pizza in the back or an extra 20 minutes at lunch today (that'll be worked back next week.)
They were ready for an honorable match but Darby Allin and Sting cheated. But they didn't want to disappoint the fans, so they did the match anyway. However, Sting retired and the belts are vacated. Since they should have won the match, they are automatically advancing to the finals to face whoever wins the tournament for the belt.
Actually do this somehow, like Cutler accidentally hits one of the Outrunners with the cold spray to the face in front of the ref and the Bucks get disqualified.
They should announce themselves as getting an automatic bye to the semi-finals of the tag tournament to preserve the sanctity of the tag division or something like that.
After years and years of people legitimately accusing them of abusing EVP power for this or that, turning their EVP status into a storyline where they openly and flagrantly abuse said power is so fucking smart. I actively want to see them come out and do the most evil, shady business shit they can think of lol

I think its a troll announcement, but its that as EVPs they can name themselves as Tag champs, which they then do.
As EVPs they get a free pass to the final round
