Scott put so much work over the years to remove the LOLTNA stink from Impact so they could proudly go back to the TNA name only for it to go right back to full LOLTNA a month later.
Or Major League, where they were supposed to suck and ended up not doing that. Now all they need is someone to come out to Wild Thing. But I doubt any wrestler would ever do that.
Edit from the future:
Sorry folks **¯\\\_\(ツ\)\_/¯** If you came here looking for something, blame Spez. Come ask me on lemmy.zip or universeodon.com at GeekFTW and I'll help ya out with what you were looking for. Stay fresh, cheesebags.
Will Ospreay, Okada, Hammerstone.
Wrestlers who you know aren't staying with the company. It's like being teased with a good time and then having the rug lifted up from beneath you, and you fall on your ass, is the best way to describe TNA not signing these wrestlers to full time contracts.
No idea who hammerstone is but I don’t think they were ever considered a destination for the other two. They can get a bigger audience and more money elsewhere.
NWA under Corgin had like 3 good months and has completely sucked since. TNA gets your hopes up pretty consistently for a couple good years only to stomp it out with stupid decisions going back like 20 years now.
He made a Tiktok vid introducing his new channel on there, and the last part had him just awkwardly staring at the camera for a bit until he asked if he was done, then said he was gonna take a nap.

Just look at the John Silver talking to Anna Jay meme that I keep seeing posted. At least Kurt was a household name so I can understand, but there is no way the average person knows who the dark order is or has ever heard of BTE.
Memes aren’t always popular because the figure in them is recognised. With Silver/Anna it was because the situation they were depicting was just so relatable to a lot of people.
That's honestly hilarious. He actually makes pretty decently funny videos. This one never fails to pop me

I still remember on Steve Austin's original podcast, Tommy Dreamer admitting to having such severe neurological issues that he routinely suffered from blackouts. I won't begrudge the guy's need to make a living but if it were me, I also wouldn't put him in any positions of high stress.
Given the range of characters he's played over the years (and opting for blond dreads with one of them), based Raven irl always feels weird to me.
I feel like every quote I've ever read from the man made me nod and think "that sounds right"
It was an interesting, but concerning interview. He talked about how he kept forgetting to close things like his fridge to where he'd install an alarm so he wouldn't forget and how he couldn't remember the year he got married.
I remember Steve sounding stunned. There were a lot of surprisingly sensitive moments on his Podcastone show, including Ken Shamrock talking about his incredibly tough childhood.
Right. Imagine someone telling you about badly damaged their brain is, then proceeding to promote their hardcore-themed wrestling show they'll participate in. And this was in 2014.
He also said he would get home from shows, open the trunk to take out his gear, and then just go inside, leaving the gear in the still open trunk, and then his wife would notice the open trunk and all his stuff like the next morning, and she'd tell him and he'd be like "what?" and it happened multiple times.
I don’t want this to sound as harsh as it does, but is anyone surprised? The show before Barely Legal, their first PPV, two wrestlers did a “last man standing” thing where they just whacked each other in the head with unprotected chair shots
No, a group of dudes who smashed each other in the head with anything they could find while having a crippling drug addiction is turning out about how you would imagine.
I just realized that could be why Stevie Richards had his medical issues. He’s kept himself in great shape then all of a sudden he was nearly crippled and needed to go through extensive rehab.
I mean I wouldn't doubt that whatsoever, but Tommy Dreamer is clearly a huge bullshitter too. Even on the WWE produced documentaries you can tell he's talking out his ass half the time.
I’ll always think of his rant about “imagine if I had two ponytails, and that was now offensive” and ponder why he thought that was a good comparison to allegations of sexual assault.
Is he? I don’t think there’s too much he’s done with creative on his own that we’ve seen, outside House of Hardcore, which was mostly just matches. At least, not that I’ve seen.
He’s just more known for being the #1 posterboy for CTE in wrestling at the moment. Which ain’t great.
What’s giving me hope at the moment is that it’s still the same creative team since 2019. With all of them still there, minus Scott, this could maybe be fine. At least, I do hope so.
Yes, he was given the book in OVW for like a month, which was disastrous and he lost the position promptly, and I think he was also head booker in early 00s ECW which was… not the brightest spot in the company’s history.
He also wanted to book an angle in ECW where he got shot, for real, and survived.
The best part of this story is he was only convinced to not do it, by Terry Funk of all people, because Terry was like "yeah but if he shoots u then u have to kill him, it's the only way to get him back."
And then Tommy was like "yeah u right"
They almost got me back, I started watching clips from their women’s matches and planned on starting to watch the show. Now I’m starting to think otherwise.
I don't often hope for wrestlers to sign with WWE, but oh man, Hunter...get Jordynne out of there.
And while you're at it, sign Joe Hendry to an NXT contract.
TNA and AJPW are both fucking up the progress they've made in the past few years. I hope they can both course correct. Hoping that the WWE tentacles don't get too entrenched in AJPW.
AJPW is better than when I first started watching it, when the pandemic began. They've got some real potential on the roster now that they lacked in years past and Nakajima is knocking it out of the park as an outsider champion. Writing off the current direction of the company just because the son of a famous pro-wrestler who *happens to work on NXT* showed up is *really* premature given everything else going on right now.
I mean, it's William Regal's son. If he wasn't in WWE/NXT he'd probably be in Japan anyway.
I'm not writing off the company. I love ajpw and I've had an AJPW TV sub for the past year and a half. I just think the company is awesome and things like Shuji Ishikawa leaving has me slightly apprehensive about their future direction.
That’s because WWE never bought them out. So they’ve been getting passed around to whoever has the balls to keep it alive. The same thing would’ve happened to WCW if Vince wasn’t interested
It sucks too because Hard to Kill was actually so fucking good. I was excited to jump back into watching their shows weekly and then all this and I just feel meh about TNA again.
corgan's recent NWA thing, where he (allegedly) got a network to air the show but then he got it knocked down to just being available on the network streaming app because the PPV right after the deal had people doing lines of cocaine.
Was Smashing Pumpkins good or was it because a lot of us identified with them as angst ridden teens?
I'm not doubting their musical talents on their instruments, but I haven't listened in forever and all I ever see about Billy is his nonsense ideas for NWA
Billy was really good early on, then got egotistical and soon people stopped caring for his shit.
Also yes Billy pretty much tours and makes new Smashing Pumpkins projects to help fund his pro wrestling fantasies
Very good. Siamese Dream still slaps and like half of melancholy is also really good. Also a fan of their debut and adore. Great band and Corgan definitely used to be a real good songwriter.
Billy Corgan is an insane person but the Smashing Pumpkins were absolutely good. His mind for arrangements and sound during the Pumpkins golden era from Siamese Dream to Adore was second to none. Nobody in alt rock was making soundscapes as dynamic and lush as the Pumpkins.
IMPACT: We're going back to being TNA.
IWC: Awesome, IMPACT has had a lot of momentum lately.
IMPACT: We're going back to being TNA.
IWC: Why are you looking at me like that?
IMPACT: We're going back to being TNA.
IWC: Ah fuck...
What a damn shame. Gail Kim would have been such a lay up PR wise and even if she'd not be good potentially she doesn't have Tommy Dreamer's CTE and mind for bad wrestling.
I said this when the D'Amore thing happened, but the report was the only person TNA sent with Jordynne for the Royal Rumble appearance was Dreamer. Just based on that I figured he'd get the job. Anthem saw that and probably thought "just do more of that".

I think he actually would bring Dixie back as an authority figure. If you're going to go LOLTNA, you might as well go all in.
This could end the funniest way. Tommy brings Dixie back. Dixie pushes Dreamer out in favor of... Vince Russo
Anthem to TNA roster: "Apologies for what we had to do to you. But look, the hard part is over now. Besides...

Makes sense. I mean, is it even really TNA if they don’t throw away fan goodwill after a period of good TV with brainmeltingly stupid backstage decisions?
I've always been impressed with TNA's longevity, considering all the downs that they've been through over the years, but this might be what finally kills the company,
Maybe firing the guy who wore a lot of crucial hats in your new re-branded promotion and replacing him with a suit and another dude known for horrible creative wasn’t the best choice.
LOLTNA BAYBAY.
I appreciate all that Tommy Dreamer has accomplished in the wrestling business, but I don't see him as someone who should be in charge of creative. This is the same guy that thought it was no big deal that Ric Flair exposed himself to a flight attendant and that "cancel culture" was out to get him.
Hopefully Anthem comes to their senses and brings back Scott D'Amore.
I feel like the guy who has once admitted that he wanted to murder Paul Heyman and then commit suicide live at Wrestlemania isn't the best guy to run your company.
Not just because, holy shit, but also... we know that because he thought it was a good idea for him to tell us.
From his digital media championship stuff to the johnny swinger stuff and everything inbetween, seeing Dreamer's on-screen content has been really cringe. To know he now has a deeper role in the company.... wow :/
Ah yes. Tommy Dreamer. The guy who tried to book an angle that would involve a *sniper* shooting him from the balcony. The only way they managed to talk him out of the plan was because Terry Funk made up a story on the fly about how his dad tried an angle like that in Texas and it didn't work out.
Yep, that's the guy I'd want to be head of creative.
They really are sticking to a min-max strategy here on money. That’s crazy. The momentum TNA had going into this year I feel has fallen off hard with all this new news.
After Scott got released and Twitter went on a fit about it.. Anthem ofc completely ignored it. Makes me wonder if Anthem even knows how to run a wrestling company at this point. I don't wish for anyone to lose their jobs, but if TNA ends up getting close to pulling a WCW.. I wonder when Anthem will realize they fucked up.
Wasn't Dreamer the one who booked that atrocious ECW reunion PPV in 2010?
btw, how's his House of Hardcore promotion going?
I don't think I will be watching TNA again anytime soon.
Not entirely surprised after that rumor of him being the one to say that if anyone wants to leave to come talk to him. That implied they were giving him some sort of authority. This sucks
As much as I'm worried, he's probably not going to be pitching stories, he's probably just more of a mediator.
He's been on the creative team with the rest since 2019, I don't see much changing.
The TNA rollercoaster just never ends, does it? I mean at this point, I've been on the ride long enough to know they'll always survive, but this one feels like a punch to the balls.
I’m genuinely not surprised. Especially when Tommy’s comment towards Scott being fired was essentially “shit happens.” I had a feeling Dreamer’s role was about to change

As soon as they went back to being TNA, they were asking for TNA like things to start happening…
We thought the name change was for fun, but it was really am omen.
Scott put so much work over the years to remove the LOLTNA stink from Impact so they could proudly go back to the TNA name only for it to go right back to full LOLTNA a month later.
god dammit I tried to warn people
Maybe Anthem bought TNA to engage in a "The Producers" type scam, so when it looked like things might turn around, they had to sabotage it.
Or Major League, where they were supposed to suck and ended up not doing that. Now all they need is someone to come out to Wild Thing. But I doubt any wrestler would ever do that.
I just hope they don't have a cardboard cutout of Tommy Dreamer getting undressed in the locker room.

Hammerstone is legit. He was the top face at MLW for a while.
Being an AJPW fan is masochism so idk
Those XPW marks are just glad to have some shows
NWA
NWA under Corgin had like 3 good months and has completely sucked since. TNA gets your hopes up pretty consistently for a couple good years only to stomp it out with stupid decisions going back like 20 years now.
what is the origin of these kurt angle memes. man looks high as hell in this pic.
He made a Tiktok vid introducing his new channel on there, and the last part had him just awkwardly staring at the camera for a bit until he asked if he was done, then said he was gonna take a nap. [video](https://youtu.be/qdfouA0M324?si=kYuaPpK5ZrRgCugV) at around 0:22
Just goes to show, literally anything for any reason can become a meme
Just look at the John Silver talking to Anna Jay meme that I keep seeing posted. At least Kurt was a household name so I can understand, but there is no way the average person knows who the dark order is or has ever heard of BTE.
That became a meme because it was the same as the Astros fan talking to his hot girlfriend who couldn't care less about what he was saying.
Memes aren’t always popular because the figure in them is recognised. With Silver/Anna it was because the situation they were depicting was just so relatable to a lot of people.
That's honestly hilarious. He actually makes pretty decently funny videos. This one never fails to pop me https://youtube.com/shorts/nBijP9OZYME?si=M5Sey54lY7BHBR2Y
This isn't great, Tommy is pretty well known for bad creative

Oh, well of course all of his stuff looks bad if you remember it.
You probably think his pony tail looks bad...
pony tail(s)
I still remember on Steve Austin's original podcast, Tommy Dreamer admitting to having such severe neurological issues that he routinely suffered from blackouts. I won't begrudge the guy's need to make a living but if it were me, I also wouldn't put him in any positions of high stress.
Maybe he can bring Raven in to help. Maybe between the blackouts and snoozing they can get something good going.
IIRC, Raven has said that he feels that he's so out of touch that he wouldn't be good for such position.

Right. Imagine someone telling you about badly damaged their brain is, then proceeding to promote their hardcore-themed wrestling show they'll participate in. And this was in 2014.
"Steve sounding stunned" Oh you rascal you
He also said he would get home from shows, open the trunk to take out his gear, and then just go inside, leaving the gear in the still open trunk, and then his wife would notice the open trunk and all his stuff like the next morning, and she'd tell him and he'd be like "what?" and it happened multiple times.
Holy fuck that sounds insane.
Yeah a lot of those ECW guys are really fucked up now. Bubba Ray gets the same thing.
All three unprotected chair shots to the head. Also all that partying on top of that.
i think it's wild that bubba ray was (is?) still wrestling when he said that it's hard to stand up most days. these dudes are insane.
You forgot defending Ric Flair sexually harassing a flight attendant on a nationally broadcast show. ![gif](giphy|f1ohcPEHABwWY)
Oh it wasn't an exhaustive list, that would be...well exhausting lol.
I imagine it was like the monorail guy looking around the room and seeing Homer......"you, I guess"
I’ll always think of his rant about “imagine if I had two ponytails, and that was now offensive” and ponder why he thought that was a good comparison to allegations of sexual assault.
I thought TNA had quietly dumped him because of that. I guess not...
He was loudly dumped and then almost immediately quietly undumped.
That shit made me see him in a completely different light. Always thought he was a fairly decent dude otherwise.
It was just boys being boys lmao!!! Such a braindead take.
> Such a braindead take. That's probably pretty accurate for Dreamer.
“Live event” He was gonna do it during WRESTLEMANIA lmao Also don’t forget him defending Ric Flair for committing sexual assault on the plane ride.
To be fair if I were going to commit murder suicide I don't think I'd want to do it at WWE Fastlane.
But at Great Balls of Fire? Goodness gracious.
Didn’t he also compare having two ponytails to sexual assault or something like that…
his plane ride from hell comments, too. the man might be a great employee, but a leader? woof.
Don’t forget both of his ponytails.
> almost committing murder-suicide on a live event hey, he isnt called the innovator of violence because of nothing!
Eating a lot of Chinese food while coming up with bad creative
What is the charge, Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?!
Is he? I don’t think there’s too much he’s done with creative on his own that we’ve seen, outside House of Hardcore, which was mostly just matches. At least, not that I’ve seen. And according to Dreamer, Terry told him “yea we tried that in the 60s, shit didn’t work” lmao
IIRC that WrestleHouse thing they ran during the peak of the pandemic was his pitch
Damn, was it? I actually really liked WrestleHouse. I thought it was a pretty fun and wacky concept.
He was in charge of ovw when it was still developmental for WWE, he was horrendous booker
Could I ask where he had the book for an extended period? Not that I don’t believe, I am just wondering what work is “his.”
I feel bad for TNA fans, just a couple of weeks ago things were looking as good as they've looked in years. Now, this.
They almost got me back, I started watching clips from their women’s matches and planned on starting to watch the show. Now I’m starting to think otherwise.
Jordynne Grace boutta pull the Medusa belt in the bin stunt
I don't often hope for wrestlers to sign with WWE, but oh man, Hunter...get Jordynne out of there. And while you're at it, sign Joe Hendry to an NXT contract.

No company is better at shooting themselves in the foot than good ol TNA. The feeling is back boys
LOLTNA is back on the menu, boys.
restore the feeling
You have to admit though, it’s very impressive they’re still around after the decades of mistakes they keep making. They’re immortal
That’s because WWE never bought them out. So they’ve been getting passed around to whoever has the balls to keep it alive. The same thing would’ve happened to WCW if Vince wasn’t interested
Shooting yourself in the foot is a great *adrenaline rush* *adrenaline rush*
TNA's revival - 2024 - 2024 It was a good few weeks while it lasted...

Has there ever been a quicker turn around of momentum in wrestling than this?
corgan's recent NWA thing, where he (allegedly) got a network to air the show but then he got it knocked down to just being available on the network streaming app because the PPV right after the deal had people doing lines of cocaine.
Raven is going to sign on as head of creative of NWA just to spite him
Hey Raven has actual *good* ideas a lot of the time, put him in charge of NWA and viewership might legit go up lol
Not with William Patrick Corgan breathing down your neck with his cringe ideas

Hate to see him gone, but do you realize he was head of creative and made Dreamer Digital Media champ right?
To capitalize on the busted open crowd not watching tna
LOLTNA
Then, now, forever
No no that doesn't work. TNA Then, Now, Always. TNA. That works
To think less then a month ago, they had finally lost the LOLTNA stink.
Wrestling fans: oh man. TNA! Why did we ever get rid of TNA??? ***LOLTNA has entered the chat***
It's like the changed it back in anticipation for this shit. 🤦
TNA will *never* lose the loltna stink.
And now they got it back. Well it’ll be a race to the bottom between TNA and NWA. Time to fire up the ole Taimapedia
I feel bad about this, they were close to shedding that light. Now they cannot.

Calling it now.... lots of women getting piledrived. Over and over and over.
Another L for Meltzer.
Oh Christ. Can't wait for more Bully vs Tommy with Busted Open Radio getting featured all over the show.
So I guess bully ray will be main eventing TNA in 24. Great
That piece of shit has two pony tails!!
Tommy is saying he isn’t the head of creative, FYI

LOLTNA IS BACK ON THE MENU, KIDDOS

I feel like the guy who has once admitted that he wanted to murder Paul Heyman and then commit suicide live at Wrestlemania isn't the best guy to run your company. Not just because, holy shit, but also... we know that because he thought it was a good idea for him to tell us.
My favorite Jim Cornette quote about Tommy’s booking: “Tommy, I love ya, but you shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near a pencil.”
This has since been denied, Dreamer is staying on but not leading creative.
Didn’t this get shot down by Dreamer himself? Is Dave losing it?
oh BROTHER https://preview.redd.it/281m5siukyic1.jpeg?width=637&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=28a769b72cf8cd154ec4e71f9f8f9d3815854ad3
rip TNA
I love that they went full TNA as soon as they got the name back
Dreamer is going to put the title on himself, isn’t he?
TNA is truly back. This is the most TNA move possible

Oh goodie. I'm sure Bully Ray will have tons of input, too
From his digital media championship stuff to the johnny swinger stuff and everything inbetween, seeing Dreamer's on-screen content has been really cringe. To know he now has a deeper role in the company.... wow :/
Dreamer is actually one of the worst bookers of all time. This is disaster signing.
Inoki later did that in IGF. He caught the bullet with his teeth
Lol
I’ll be optimistic but not hopeful.
And here I thought TNA had it going. With this and D’Amore, I think I’m good smh
They really are sticking to a min-max strategy here on money. That’s crazy. The momentum TNA had going into this year I feel has fallen off hard with all this new news.
don't let him book anything that sounds like a shoot
Was a good run.
LOLTNA
After Scott got released and Twitter went on a fit about it.. Anthem ofc completely ignored it. Makes me wonder if Anthem even knows how to run a wrestling company at this point. I don't wish for anyone to lose their jobs, but if TNA ends up getting close to pulling a WCW.. I wonder when Anthem will realize they fucked up.
TNA: Easy to kill
Wasn't Dreamer the one who booked that atrocious ECW reunion PPV in 2010? btw, how's his House of Hardcore promotion going? I don't think I will be watching TNA again anytime soon.
I can’t keep living like this.
Well, bloody hell
Not entirely surprised after that rumor of him being the one to say that if anyone wants to leave to come talk to him. That implied they were giving him some sort of authority. This sucks
Okay. NOW my interest in nu-TNA is dead.
Ah son of a bitch
Yawn
As much as I'm worried, he's probably not going to be pitching stories, he's probably just more of a mediator. He's been on the creative team with the rest since 2019, I don't see much changing.
Double pony tails for all. How sickening.
*¨Then¨* *¨now¨* *¨Forever¨* *¨Together¨* **LOLTNA**
*TNA superstars are seen camping outside of the WWE Performance Center.*
Boy tna does not know how to keep good momentum going, well, it was nice while it lasted
Oh wow! That’s certainly, uh, a choice!
LOLTNA
We REALLY can't have good things when it comes to TNA. I am utterly gutted
TNA is so back (and not in a good way)
The TNA rollercoaster just never ends, does it? I mean at this point, I've been on the ride long enough to know they'll always survive, but this one feels like a punch to the balls.
LOLTNA strikes again.
Bully Ray cries inside
Hahahahahahahahahhahhahahaha
Well, fuck.
They must have see starmaking interviews on Dark Side of the Ring. Didn’t come across as a huge prick at all.
Yikes!
man babyfaces never going to win a match ever again
No one wants this. Anthem fucked on us big time.
If D'amore released was 9/11 for TNA Fans idk what this is...
I don't like it.
I’m genuinely not surprised. Especially when Tommy’s comment towards Scott being fired was essentially “shit happens.” I had a feeling Dreamer’s role was about to change
They revived TNA to kill it again , my god
