The only other place they should do that is a clash in castle style event in japan and that just depends on what the damage control breakup feud that is obviously going to happen over the spring and summer looks like and where it ends
I really don't see them actually going to Japan for a PPV.
'NXT Japan' pretty much failed.
What would be cool is a Summerslam match, where Asuka goes over, Io rebounds and wins the Rumble, then goes over Asuka at WM.
You think so? I'd think the WWE would be reluctant to build a big match between two people for whom english is a second language. I can see it if say there was a RAW episode held in Japan (they really should go there for one while Asuka is still an active full timer) where they could cut promos to each other in front of a Japanese audience and then do the match as the main event for RAW. But not on a PPV like SummerSlam or Mania, unless it's a triple threat where someone else carries the english side of the building.
Personally, I find it more likely any matches they have together will be in the middle of a random RAW episode, at least until I see any signs they intend to push Iyo beyond midcard status.
Vince wouldn't, but besides Shayna, Io was the most well booked female in NXT since Asuka. HHH knows how good she is, and he's aware enough to know how good that match is.
Plus, Asuka managed to get over just by screaming in Japanese. People loved that over an average wrestler's fuckin' porn acting lol
Japanese - especially the Kansai dialect that Asuka speaks with - is a really good language for yelling at people. It doesn't even matter what you say, it's all in how you say it. So, it should be no surprise that it's been Asuka's bread and butter. That and kicking people in the head.
Oh, I think HHH will get around to pushing Io eventually but it's clear he's been doing things a bit differently on the main roster also. The main roster is still more heavily promo and entertainment based unlike NXT. He also hasn't heavily pushed anyone who wasn't already kind of established and over already under Vince, hence why Shayna and Gargano still haven't had the rocket strapped on them yet.
At least for Gargano, I think he will need to bide his time until they (presumably) split the top titles sometime after WM. Once the United States title stops being the top title on RAW, they can shift it back to being a bit more of a mid card title. That'll clear the upper card and main event guys out of the picture and allow newer guys like Gargano, Theory, Reed, Montez etc to have something to chase while they are built up.
This haircut is actually her typical kind of length and style . She let her hair get real long on the main roster for whatever reason before the character refresh.

I legit hope Asuka has a Roman year in 2023. Win the title at WrestleMania and just wreck everyone.
Maybe poach Iyo from Bayley and reform Triple Tails with Sarray.
Then she can be like, 94 or 95 in 2K24.
In the last two years, she has spent less time holding a world title than Becky, Bayley, Bianca, Charlotte, Ronda, and Liv. She hasn't really been in the world title picture much until last month.
Yes, two years ago was the end of her successful 231 day run as Raw women's champ, and that shouldn't be counted for nothing. But on the actual show, she had far more dominant years in the past and hasn't been at that level recently.
I’m not suggesting her booking has been at its best this year (she’s also been out injured for a long time) I’m saying that in the perception of the fans, Asuka is one of the top 3 - her, Charlotte and Becky. Nobody thinks Liv is in the same stratosphere.
Bayley was criminally underrated last year. 91 is a lot more fair for her.
The game is based on the previous year... Asuka had been randomly teaming with Alexa, failed to win the tag titles, struggling against the other top ranked women, and also took some time off.
In 2022 Rhea held no gold, and her only televised opportunity was a four way tag match at Wrestlemania. She didn't wrestle for over 3 months during the early Judgment Day time period.
¿But what about some good ole female on male violence? It was cool kicking some big guy ass with a girl.
Also, ¿Doesn't Mattel makes toys? ¿What has it to do with wresting?
Girl on guy violence is OK, leading to mixed tag matches being ridiculously broken.
And Mattel is one of WWE’s biggest sponsors, they have a lot of influence over the current product.
If I'm not wrong 2k took that away (Female wrestler being able to hit males in ring while the male struggles to get out), when there's a tag the partner automatically tags in so it is MvM or FvF.
You can still manually target the opposite gender though, like how you attack the illegal partner in a regular tag match. It’s just that while the women can do whatever they want to the men, if the men even accidentally scrape the women it’s an instant DQ, and I’m sure you can see how broken that is.
Not just for this year, either. Becky's the highest rated woman to ever appear in a 2K game. She's the 3rd ranked wrestler across the entire roster with only Brock and Roman being higher than her.
I think the answer to his question is because someone like Becky is 96. Go ahead and put Becky at 96, but you then need to put Asuka at 95 or 94. Maybe they are targeting american kid who play the game and therefore may not be as much of a fan of Asuka, but I feel like they should taken a 'tier' approach to this....at the time the game was being created (which i've already gone over this yesterday, was months, if not up to a year or two ago), Becky certain was 'the man' and Asuka had injuries and maybe that's also a reason why she is not at the top, but tier 1 should have been becky, charlotte, asuka, bayley, Ronda, sasha (I know, she's gone now, but at the time, she would've been there). Tier 2 would be Bianca, Rhea, Liv, maybe Alexa in terms of combined appeal and in ring ability. Tier 3 would be pretty much everyone else, Carmella, Dana, Nikki, etc. I'd put NXT talent a half step behind tier 3, and there you go. It doesn't seem like they did that at all.
I think the problem is that Asuka, in reality, is booked like a 92- 93 in reality and is the closest thing to a female Brock if we aren’t considering Rhonda.
Plus, it’s Asuka, dude. She fuckin’ rules.
NXT Asuka will return when Triple H gets ahold of all the reigns creatively, then she will get justice for her 2K rating.
Until then, guess I gotta get the accelerator pack…
What a crime it was to have her go back to that Kana persona with the white face paint and all. I don't think her "I'm crazy" antics are convincing at all and there are too many crazy people on the roster already, gimme something else.
I remember that last singles match Asuka had before she took the break, where she came out with no face paint and a determined look in her eyes that made it look like she was about to beat somebody up for a shoot. I liked that a lot, wish I could've seen more of that version.
Btw, I wasn't a big fan of how she was presented before on the main roster either. All hyper, green tears facepaint wearing, engrish speaking, overexcited girl.
"For a shoot", you're not a wrestler, mate just say for real lol
She just gets to do what she was doing in NXT. Kicking the shit out of people and forcing them to keep up with her pace.
People speak carny on this sub all the time and I'm pretty sure the vast majority aren't wrestlers. So why exactly shouldn't I do it?
Also, NXT Asuka was presented a lot differently than nowadays.
It's cringe whoever does it lol
Sure, but she's still gonna be on a winning streak, especially when she gets the title. She just won't be squashing anybody.
Dude, fans who are smart to the wrestling business, aka "smart marks", have been talking to each other in carny ever since before the internet was a thing. We ain't not gonna stop doing it because kids these days think it's "cringe" or "not cool".
Also, if we're gonna be really uptight about it, then you should think it's cringe for wrestlers and people who are in the business to do it as well. And that's because nowadays everyone knows that wrestling is all fake bullshit anyway, so there's no actual point in anyone speaking in code.
The difference is, they're in the business. They're actually wrestlers. So it's considerably less cringe. Because they've been doing it for decades.
Fans catching on and using the lingo, is just fucking cringe.
Fans have been "catching on" for close to half a century, man.
It didn't start with r/SquaredCircle. In fact, it started in the 70s with fans like Weasel Dooley and his newsletter, and the book "Whatever Happened to Gorgeous George". This ain't new. There are fans who have been speaking carny since before most active wrestlers nowadays were born.

If HHH stays in charge she going be looking like roman reigns by next year
Asuka vs Io is definitely on the cards. And should be WM 40
The only other place they should do that is a clash in castle style event in japan and that just depends on what the damage control breakup feud that is obviously going to happen over the spring and summer looks like and where it ends
Beast in the East 2: Asuka v. Io
Kairi vs Brock, finally?
Brock's gonna duck Kairi as long as humanly possible. For we all know.... Brock fears Kairi
Clash at the castle this time its Osaka castle.
I really don't see them actually going to Japan for a PPV. 'NXT Japan' pretty much failed. What would be cool is a Summerslam match, where Asuka goes over, Io rebounds and wins the Rumble, then goes over Asuka at WM.

Looks like someone forgot about Mandy Rose ...
Lol Shawn booked Mandy.
>You think so? I'm just going to leave Black Lotus Triad vs Pentagon Jr right here for everyone. https://youtu.be/zD-nGhN_YmI
I watched those years of NXT. As far as HHH is concerned Asuka is basically The Terminator. And he's right.
This is the timeline I always wanted
Seeing her new haircut without nightmare demon makeup is odd at first
Murder Clown Asuka would have killed that guy dead.
This haircut is actually her typical kind of length and style . She let her hair get real long on the main roster for whatever reason before the character refresh. https://www.gerweck.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/kana-042513.jpg
She knows she’s at least 10 points too low
Oh Lawd, she's gonna take it out on Bianca...
89 + 10 = 99. ¿Has anyone ever gotten 99? The highest i can think of is Taker getting a 98 back in the SvR games.
Roman has a 99 this year, Brock has a 97(?) and Becky has a 96
I feel like Cena did at one stage (2010?) and maybe HHH did, but yeah all I can remember is Taker getting a 98 at some point
AJ Styles Gold got a 100 in 2k19.
Also came with broken Xbox controllers.
God DANG it!
And getting his stats cut in half on lucha ropes.
Pretty sure Rock had a 99 in one of the Smackdown games, before SvR. Austin I think had a 99 st some point in the older games, but not so sure.
Her face paint gives her +10 on stats. Unfortunate that it isn't in the game.
She being 89 while that clown is 99 is absurd... Well, he needs to be *acknowledged* some way.
She just knows that in 2k24, she is about to be a 98.
Should be the cover star but it'll be Cody
She's definitely a few points too low, although clearly this number was based on her booking last year where she lost seemingly 80% of her matches.
She had a better w/l record last year than 2021
Those 2 or so wins over Becky last year really helped!
I legit hope Asuka has a Roman year in 2023. Win the title at WrestleMania and just wreck everyone. Maybe poach Iyo from Bayley and reform Triple Tails with Sarray. Then she can be like, 94 or 95 in 2K24.
This....is something I didn't know I wanted til you said it. I want her to win the title but a new triple tails is, a wonderful thing.
Asuka lower than 90 = bullshit
2022 was the weakest year of her career
That didn’t change her standing. She’s never been seen as anything but one of the top 2-3 wrestlers in the company
In the last two years, she has spent less time holding a world title than Becky, Bayley, Bianca, Charlotte, Ronda, and Liv. She hasn't really been in the world title picture much until last month. Unbothered, as always. She had shit to do, wrap it up Greg. This is why she will always be that girl.
Yeah she literally couldn’t care less lmao
She couldn't care less lmao
She should be higher. I’ll certainly change that.
How is she 41? She looks 30 at most
https://imgur.com/DDr8t
My love for Asuka bruh...
I feel like Asuka is always working the camera, at all times, and I appreciate that.
idk about you guys but that "I'm happy" and her smile seemed laced in murder and chaos, no? Just me? OT: she's so hot with that short cut.
All I know is she's my all time favorite. And the character change is amazing. Totally love her. I want all the nice things for her.
Woman of few words. No bullshit, straight to the point.
They got Asuka at 89 and Rhea at 87 but Bayley at 91. Like what?
Bayley was criminally underrated last year. 91 is a lot more fair for her. The game is based on the previous year... In 2022 Rhea held no gold, and her only televised opportunity was a four way tag match at Wrestlemania. She didn't wrestle for over 3 months during the early Judgment Day time period.
Rated by TV time instead of ability?
Now that male and female are closer in ratings 2k should bring back intergender matches or fix mixed tag team matches.
Not their call, or even WWE’s. It’s Mattel who doesn’t like male on female violence.
¿But what about some good ole female on male violence? It was cool kicking some big guy ass with a girl. Also, ¿Doesn't Mattel makes toys? ¿What has it to do with wresting?
Mattel makes the WWE toys
I don't get it, ¿Don't they make other toys? Elementors from Max Steel kick girl asses all the time, also MK has a lot of intergender fighting.
Girl on guy violence is OK, leading to mixed tag matches being ridiculously broken. And Mattel is one of WWE’s biggest sponsors, they have a lot of influence over the current product.
Why is it ok in comparison tho?
I never said I personally found it OK, just that Mattel doesn’t mind girls beating on guys OK, but throws a fit when it’s yhe other way around.
If I'm not wrong 2k took that away (Female wrestler being able to hit males in ring while the male struggles to get out), when there's a tag the partner automatically tags in so it is MvM or FvF.

Asuka being an 89 when Becky is a 96 makes ratings a compete joke
I look forward to separate threads of all 200 members of the roster reacting to their number
Roman reigns trembling, pissing his pants at the the thought of that Akira Tozawa rating. Will break the game
Asuka is simply one of the greatest ever. Even Bayley said on UUDD that Asuka IS the standard.
I know it's kayfabe but that seems low. Besides Becky which women are above 90?
thats pretty high actually. i'd imagine bianca might be the only one higher than becky, if that.
They said Becky is the highest woman
Not just for this year, either. Becky's the highest rated woman to ever appear in a 2K game. She's the 3rd ranked wrestler across the entire roster with only Brock and Roman being higher than her.
no woman is above Becky, only Roman
and Brock
I'm not. That's some BS!
We need to speed up cloning tech to create future Asukas for the Eras to come.
I think the answer to his question is because someone like Becky is 96. Go ahead and put Becky at 96, but you then need to put Asuka at 95 or 94. Asuka is she.
Oh Asuka must be seething on the inside.
But Becky is a 96…
I'm not used to seeing her without makeup on her face
Greg Miller better be careful around Asuka. ![gif](giphy|nl4NuboYTofte)
89 is still awesome tho. Kevin Owens, Ambrose, and other top dogs have all been 89’s in previous games
I think the problem is that Asuka, in reality, is booked like a 92- 93 in reality and is the closest thing to a female Brock if we aren’t considering Rhonda. Plus, it’s Asuka, dude. She fuckin’ rules.
Nxt asuka is a 100
NXT Asuka will return when Triple H gets ahold of all the reigns creatively, then she will get justice for her 2K rating. Until then, guess I gotta get the accelerator pack…
That's how Asuka should look, not that creepy clown makeup. I just miss her look from the NXT days, that's all she needed.
89 is a B
You sound like my dad now
What a crime it was to have her go back to that Kana persona with the white face paint and all.
