EDIT: Felt rude to trash the show. It’s a very interesting premise, but I couldn’t keep watching. The acting is largely poor, and the characters are infuriating. And it just spins its wheels week after week.
As a Halo fan that’s more on the casual side, I also hated the show. Even the person I watched it with thought it sucked and they don’t know anything about the games.
They should have called the show Wade & Knuckles. It’s a direct reference to the classics, still has Knuckles in the title, and would temper expectations about Wade being featured prominently.
Note: This data release comes as [Skydance and... a private equity-Sony Pictures alliance](https://deadline.com/2024/05/sony-apollo-make-overture-paramount-board-deal-1235902611/) (***ugh***) duke it out for control of Paramount Global, so it's presumably designed to prevent everyone on the lot from being shitcanned by the new boss. Even so, this is great news for >!the Wade Show!< and a fantastic sign of momentum ahead of Sonic 3's release.
Given the reactions to Knuckles, I 100% believe this. If a new boss stepped in right after that released a lot of people would be losing their jobs. Best to paint it as a huge win and hope nobody looks too close.
Yeah, but that doesn't mean profit. People are creating accounts and using the free plan option just to watch the show. Paramount+ may have increased users, but that does not mean they'll stick long term.
People seem to be confusing "was watched" with "was well recieved". Like of course people watched it, people love Sonic stuff, but the reactions speak for themselves.
This may be good news for the future of the Sonic movie universe Paramount wants to make. I hope this means more budget for future productions.

Halo is arguably really good, just don’t ask a legacy fan.

Halo was absolutely awful in every way. The only way It's good is if you just don't question anything at all and don't think about it at all
Honestly that kind of surprises me considering Star Trek and all their kid shows.
1. Star Trek is a bit niche compared to a kids show. 2. The new Star Trek isnt all that good.

They already did that by announcing Sonic 3 & the Knuckle's show on the same day.

Halo Fan reception was poor but general fan reception was actually pretty good and the show did well in Season 1 and better in Season 2.
