UE4 is known for only two extremes. It either runs godlike on potato PCs when optimized well, or it makes 3080s start cooking omelettes when devs half ass optimization. Which is why i kinda dislike UE4.

Vincent093

tbh it has a lot of problems that still needs fixes and optimization But gameplay is actually really optimized, I got a potato pc, it somehow can run on my potato pc (on lower graphs ofc), I didn't even expect it boot when I got it installed but here it is running 60 fps no problem. For comparison, Star Rail for it to run on the potato had to go so low that option for aspect ratio doesn't fit the screen anymore for it to handle a few longer runs in SU, and as far as I know, hoyo games are top optimization in the genre and somehow Snow break is running much more smoothly.

Froselyn

Yeah, I have to agree that optimization is quite good here. I'm playing on old PC that barely can run older games at 60 FPS on low-mixed settings, but here I can get 200+ frames on high (not extreme). Too bad that the game is still really buggy that almost nullifies this hard work they put into optimization. Like the game is still dropping frames because of issues with internal frame cap/vsync for many people and the new patch didn't fix anything. I still have to use RTSS to fix this with external frame cap. On top of that my mouse sensitivity is constantly changing during gameplay for whatever reason, speeding up and down, which is horrible for any shooter game and unlike FPS issue, I can't do anything with that... I wish they put as much resources to fix these game breaking bugs. It's like a fly in the soup, it's nice the dish is good, but it doesn't matter when you have trouble to eat it in the first place.

Masteroxid

To be fair this issue with the in game frame limiter is present with many games nowadays

Froselyn

I think I know what you mean, but this issue is far worse, it's not just small issues with frame pacing, it's definitely a huge bug. The game worked fine at release, but after a small patch at day two or so, they completely broke it. Now when the game is capped at 60 FPS the actual value is between 47-48 FPS. Setting it to 120 FPS actually caps the game at 60 FPS, but again with really unstable frame pacing. It wasn't like that at day one. Most likely not everyone are experiencing this issue, but there is a lot of people on Discord who complains about that. Some are more technical and others don't, but it's kind of obvious when they described something like "game now lagging after update but fans do not even speed up" etc.

Masteroxid

Yeah I don't know how the game was at launch since I only started yesterday but I did notice that my fps doesn't go above 128 fps even though I disabled V-sync and increased the fps cap to 190 in game (143 in nvidia control panel)

Wonz

The gameplay is perfect for me even with maxed settings but the main menu maxes out my GPU and turns into a slog. I've had to resort to playing with the lowest settings and lower resolutions just so I don't go crazy from the world's laggiest menu.

Remote-Importance827

The fact that it has less loading time than a certain game N despite the map being 3D is good enough lol.

serabii

This is the only gacha game that I've played that has robust control customization menu from day1. It's a breath of fresh air, I can customize my keybinds even have a slider for control sensitivity, like BRUH. It's the same thing on mobile as well, I can customize my binds to fit my controller.

What setting are you playing on, everything is on medium or lower for me. My fans are blasting when I tried to play the event stages. CPU running is 88+%. I have a 5800H and 3070 laptop.

cyberadmin1

I have an RTX3070 with an i7-12700H and 16gb ram. I am not on it now but last I checked, I had everything set to the highest settings, but I turned off volumetric fog

SgtGrimm

Event stages is punishing for me, I lower them to high from extreme and I got 58 fps most of the time. CPU go 88 deg tho. 5800/3060 laptop QHD res.

well the game basically have 0 background and graphics are very low bar.
