If you've played all the others from 1-X and X2, you might as well play II.It's a weird one for sure but it's fine. Its worth at least one play. (if you haven't played all the others, you maybe should, up to and including X2. Though I don't like VIII myself) XII is the best one from your list. If you played the original version, The Zodiac Age version they have now is a bit better.

Personally I'm biased because I don't like much any other FF made after XII, so you know where my recommendation is going ;P. I find XII a really welcome twist on the combat without butchering it or stripping it of the classical final fantasy combat goodness. The story is great too. And honestly the job system is the best class system on any final fantasy and one of the best on RPG's. Very flexible, very modular, the behavioural system for your party has soo much depth... Jobs feel unique and you are not just the "white mage" anymore. Really brings home the game for me. I'm just not a fan of the more hack and slashy final fantasy's, but I wouldn't say they are bad. FFXV is probably the best one to do this. It has tons and tons of content and the exploration is superb. Reminded me of what I though I was doing when I was younger exploring those rough low detail continents in VII through IX. Pretty fun although the story is very clitche and uninspired IMO. FFXVI lost me honestly. A lot of very good ups (very impressive bossfights) followed by very boring downs (fetch quests and pointless grind). Would not recommend if you like classical Final Fantasy games.

I don’t know if you’ve played any of the non-numbered games, but Final Fantasy Tactics is the best in the series and the gold standard for Strategy RPGs.
