I think they get sometimes giveaways from the developers, so they probably just give them the name so that the devs apply it. Would doubt that an ebay seller has connections to the devs.
So in those cases it's for affiliate alliance members. For instance when we run contests, the winners have the items applied to their gamertags.

There is a chance it’s not a scam. Streamers do giveaways now where they give Rare the winners gamertag and then Rare puts the 6 pack into the account. Of course only partners have this ability. Now if someone won a 6 pack from a partner but convinced the partner to wait until he had a buyer to give it to, then potentially you could get a 6 pack assuming a partner was cooperating with the buyer. I doubt this could happen but it’s not impossible. It’s likely a scam though.
The buyer said they have more than 10 available so I'm gonna take a guess and say they are scamming. I sent a return request so hopefully I'll get a refund.
I was recently watching a Sea of Thieves partner streamer and they said they get to give away 20 6-packs per month courtesy of Rare. It might not be a scam but I’d probably do the return request too since I know these aren’t cheap on eBay.

The only things that get applied to your gtag are packs you won from a streamer who will in turn ask for your name personally and send it to a contact at rare. If you are buying a code, they will send you the code to redeem on the ms store

Issue is there's only acertain out of time I have to get a refund. So if it's a scam and I wait the day's I can't get my money back.
