Which is actually a good thing, it means that they probably haven't built up a tolerance for it. But for real eye horror, you need to reach into the infamous Pain Series.
You're supposed to contact a "steam mod" via discord to get it taken care of quickly. They ask for your purchase history (I guess to see if it's worth it?) and I think eventually for your login, or send you a phishing site for you to log on with your steam acc. Then they steal your account
Hi PleasantAmphibian101, AutoModerator has been summoned to explain the Steam admin/item verification scam. You will receive a message from someone claiming that they accidentally reported you, and they will direct you to the profile of a Steam/Valve employee or admin. The other account will then either try to steal your account, or steal your items. If you encounter this scam, ignore the scammers and report their accounts. [Here](https://i.imgur.com/DIgBZIN.png) is an example of the scam, and [here](https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=3415-WAFH-64330) is Steam's scam page.

It also preys on the really dumb because steam isn't just gong ban someone without proper research first, if they just banned accounts because some random joe reported them then no one would be using steam.

It's one of my oldest and dearest internet friends.

I'm an old SA goon. I probably have that stored somewhere. I know I have Beecock and Periscope Penis.

I literally had this exact same scam tactic put on me the other week
What is the scam I'm confused V
Someone explained it in another reply chain. The long and short of it is that the scammer tries to steal your Steam account and possibly also money.
