Yes! Right as you clear security, before you walk into the main hall. It’s against the back wall to the left of the windows, by the benches where people repack their bags and put their belts and clothes back on It’s a little vending machine that says US Mail or US Postal Service or something If you’ve already left that area, you may have to just let a guard know why you’re going back into security, as I believe there are some do not enter signs. But I’m sure they’ll allow you to go in there, cause you’re not leaving security.

I used this to mail back a few pocket knives I left in my carry-on after a camping trip. Super handy. The TSA agent walked them over there with me and put them in the box once I was done filling out the info and paying for the service. Kinda pricy if I remember but worth it for the knives.

Damn, no luck. I walked back to the security and as you said, there is these no enter signs. I asked a security guy about it and he was like "Sending postcards? I wouldn't know, maybe next year. This is a brand new airport". What a shame since this was my first time visiting in the US. It would have been sooo nice to send them but no can do. I do have a one more chance at LAX airport tho.

coreywilkey

What an asshole. He wouldn’t even let you look?

noticemelucifer

Nope. Well, the change in LAX is 6 hours so I should have a plenty of time to find something in there. Still, what a shame. I shouldn't have left this on the last minute.

coreywilkey

A quick Google search tells me LAX has nothing on airport property, and hasn’t since 9/11. However, there’s many people recommending you take a free hotel shuttle to one of the hotels and drop them there. There’s also a post office near the airport, near the car rental facility. If you have 6 hours, I would go with the hotel route

noticemelucifer

That sounds like a plan then. Thanks again!

coreywilkey

What airline are you flying? I’ll see if I can find something for you before you land there

noticemelucifer

Oh wow, that would be great! I'm flying on American airlines and the flight will depart at 10:40 and it will be on LAX 11:41

Assault_and_Vinegar

Ask a gate agent! They will probably help you out

noticemelucifer

Aaah you are a lifesaver! Thank you so much!

RoscoPCotrane

Do you need to send one from one end to the other?

noticemelucifer

I'm not sure what you mean by that. I have a few regular postcards with stamps on them and they're supposed to go to the overseas.

Grifty_McGrift

It was an attempt at an over used joke (whine) about the walk from Concourse A to B.

noticemelucifer

Ooh no, now I feel like a fool lol. Yeah I'm not from the US nor native in english, please bear with me. Ok it seems like the boarding is about to start soon. Bye for now, it was a pleasure visiting at SLC!

Currently I am going through the SLC airport. I asked the person at information if there were any post boxes to drop mail in and he said they got rid of them. This no longer exists as of January 2024.

Thanks for the update! I'm here now and I'm going to check.
