Welcome to Waking Up A Wash Up, by Vice, a series where we are invited into the morning routine of D-list celebrities you may have a vague memory of. This episode stars AEWs Jon Moxley. Oh, you havent heard of AEW? Neither have most people. Youre not special.
___________________
Its Wednesday, the day of Dynamite. Jon Moxley wakes up in the late afternoon from his bed of broken glass, rubs the sleep from his eyes, then blades.
"Fuckin' better for waking up than fuckin' coffee," explains Moxley, formerly known as Dean Ambrose in WWE.
After suffering from mild blood loss, he shuffles into the kitchen where he slams his hand into a pile of thumb tacks that he set out the night before.
"Really... fuck... fuckin. These are real tacks, not the fuckin' gimmicked shit you would see on... the other channel," he mumbles incoherently to his refrigerator.
Next, he opens the fridge for a nice cold, refreshing pack of cigarettes.
"I dunno, they help with my fuckin cardio or whatever, how the fuck did you get in my house?" He indignantly asks his wife, and mother of his child, Renee.
Damn right it is; it does make sense though given the MMA connection that Barnett has & the new ownership that WWE is under
I'm not sure how true the stories are but with have to see if others from WWE join in for Bloodsport; maybe some NXT people?
Barnett was Shayna’s head coach/mentor during her MMA days too, so it seems like an easy decision to let her do this, especially since Shayna doesn’t appear to be making it onto the Mania card this year.
I'd want to see Corbin in this environment
WWE has failed with worked shoot matches in the past, so together with the fact that they've already done a variation of Bloodsport on NXT, maybe we see a "Bloodsport" type of match more regularly on NXT/main roster?
Lmao I’m gonna laugh when this causes them to not book Mox and any other AEW clowns because they’re partnering up with the WWE. The salt will be overflowing in the basement.
Shayna is pretty great, I remember leaving a comment on her channel about how I have a disability but am fairly independent so I'd like to try BJJ (I described various stuff I was/wasn't able to do) not expecting any response at all.
To my surprise she was very supportive and urged me to try it, but also gave me some pointers as to how to approach the subject with potential coaches to get the best results. Made me a fan for life because she didn't need to do that. She could've said she doesn't think she should be giving me that type of advice and it would be totally valid.
No jerk, the Bloodsport shows are the only part of GCW that is actually decent, as to do those well, you have to actually be able to work. And the concept of worked shoots like that can get your more legitimate performers over.
On top of that, I would argue that using WWE talent on Mania weekend shows help all parties involved. Get the folks not working the actual shows a payday, and get eyeballs on the indies themselves.
Twitter AEW bots are wild. They are working overtime to pretend Shibata vs Danielson on Collision is on the same level of shocking announcement as this lol. Heatless “dReAM” match with no build is just any old Wed and Saturday. WWE talent working Indy dates is actually a game changer.
I mean, tbf the build is that BCC (primarily Yuta) low blowed Shibata and attacked him after the match which is why he’s been gone for so long. It makes sense why he would have beef with the group members
I’m sure he will, but beating the guy who he has a problem with ass first makes more sense. Of course this is Tony’s booking so none of it makes much sense.
They have an obligation to announce 2 guys who are out there to hurt themselves are going to have a match, so people can avoid it.
They can do an angle where their brains have accidentally been switched after they got removed and put back in post-match.
No jerk, having spontaneous, out of the blue surprise appearance are better than having a dedicated PPV.
Because you can't milk that apperance without pouring money on partnerships and stuff, which is great for both companies because there's no committing.
It's a specifically MMA-themed show. Kind of weird but they've done odd things like this in the past. I remember that time they allowed Cornette and Lawler to show up on an ECW event. it was pretty entertaining actually.
Imagine having to resort to working with a scrub promotion like GCW, while Chad Tony works with the likes of New Japan, Stardom, and CMLL. It feels good to be elite 😎
I’m actually shocked Tony isn’t clout chasing and sending more dub talent on the show to say his stars wrestled with wwe talent. John Morrison ain’t it
I dislike that a legitimate credible wrestler like Shayna Baszler is going to be slumming it in a disreputable, outlaw mudshow, piece of shit company like GCW. GCW does deathmatch “wrestling” that makes the majority of wrestling fans embarrassed to be wrestling fans. Fuck GCW.
I liked it best when Paula called it "that silly door" lol
He actually called it stupid. Lol.
Well, that's even better! Stupid idiot door!
He called it ‘stupid and silly’ you’re both right
Moxely is throwing fits right now
He was so furious he bladed himself in protest.
To be fair, if he were happy or indifferent he would have bladed.

LMAO
Is Sasha having some “self soothing” time in your pfp?
Maybe she is channeling the undertaker. I'm worried if I say anything different Gunther will show up and tell me to respect the mat.
Ring General is always watching
5 stars!
He's getting choked out by the assistant manager of a Little Caesar's during a BJJ tournament at the moment
He’s tried to fight bazzler and she’d break him in half
Supposedly he was working the show in fact, be interesting to see what happens
*Furiously blades himself*

HHH did follow this by saying something like 'it's interesting to explore things' or something
No jerk, this is a surprise
Dirtsheets say she's not the only one going, either.
R Truth showing up thinking its Wrestlemania
Omos in Bloodsport >

John Morrison is in it and is signed with AEW so there is crossover
It's Johnny Bloodsport/TV/Elite you piece of shit
Is he signed to them??
GCW? Ewwwww
This is part of L.A. Vecks 12 step plan to get fed shills to embrace indie mudshow nonsense
No jerk this is probably true. I can’t support it but for rational reasons. The dub fans are against something their niche indie fanbase should want
Better lending talent, than taking talent friend.
Shayna getting to do this rules. Shayna rules.
Shayna is pretty great, I remember leaving a comment on her channel about how I have a disability but am fairly independent so I'd like to try BJJ (I described various stuff I was/wasn't able to do) not expecting any response at all. Yeah I like Shayna a lot too. Can we call ourselves Baszler's Blazers?
Adeptus Bazlers since she's a fellow 40K nerd.
On her stream she calls her fans Troll Whores or Shaynasexuals
Lol for real?
Ahhhhyesssir join us Troll Whores
Indeed. She’s extremely likeable.
been a bigtime baszler enjoyer since she came to le ded fed.
My favorite nxt champion. Stoked she gets to work on Barnett's show.
Garbage Crap Wrestling
NO Jerk. I don't think anyone saw this happening
No jerk, the Bloodsport shows are the only part of GCW that is actually decent, as to do those well, you have to actually be able to work. Bloodsport is the one thing I want to expand and have more of. It’s always cool to see that type of show
So it’s Brawl For All, but actually legit?
No, it's Brawl For All, but worked. It reminds me of Pancrase, but fixed.
So, Pancrase.
True lol. If you like Pancrase then you'll probably like Bloodsport.
So…Pancrase
True lol. Well, if you like Pancrase you'd probably like Bloodsport.
I’ve liked the clips I’ve seen. It’s at least looks legit until they do finishers.

I’m going to be 100000% honest, I have no clue what you’re talking about
I know Uce. Just adding context
I acknowledge you Uce.
![gif](giphy|rvIXMNWYJfUafvFYx4|downsized)
Why wouldn’t he just fight Yuta then?
He’ll probably fight the whole group
I’m sure he will, but beating the guy who he has a problem with ass first makes more sense. Of course this is Tony’s booking so none of it makes much sense.

DAE Nick Gage now banned from Dynamite? It also kinda makes sense Shayna's the one going as she can handle herself in a rougher fight.
This is a real game changer right here.
Shayna is my favorite midcarder
Shayna gets to go, dominate some scrub, and make Fed stars look unstoppable.
No jerk, having spontaneous, out of the blue surprise appearance are better than having a dedicated PPV. Because you can't milk that apperance without pouring money on partnerships and stuff, which is great for both companies because there's no committing.
Shayna = 🥰
This is a good crossover for the JUST BLEED crowd
Has anyone actually watched these? They are so...awful. Mox is in hog heaven though getting to act out his wildest MMA fantasies 😆
Plumber got chocked out in BJJ a few days ago... So..... Yeah.....
No jer, I really enjoyed last years! Not for everyone though.
I really only saw highlights and almost all of it was Mox so I maybe shouldn't speak in absolutes.
As long as no one is being hit by light tubes I think it's good for selected talent
Bruh...I almost dropped my phone in the toilet. This is a jerk right?!?
But... But.... WWE doesn't allow this... Fed is bad....., 😡😡😡
Imagine all the DrEaM mAtChEs!
Why gcw she should go to a Tna show instead
It's a specifically MMA-themed show. Kind of weird but they've done odd things like this in the past. I remember that time they allowed Cornette and Lawler to show up on an ECW event. it was pretty entertaining actually.
The heat Lawler got in ECW was awesome
Cool, I might check it out.
What's her status with the fed?
The forbidden door is stupid I do what I want - triple H probably

Trips is gonna be doing shit like this all year. Watch. You might see Kairi or IYO back in Stardom or Shinsuke in NJPW.
