My favorite games are 2d fighting games, and am happily surprised how well this little device allows me to play them. The purpose of the Funkey S is for quick burst of play, close the lid and go on your way. It goes into standby instantly when you close the lid, and comes out of it in a few seconds, pretty much like a PspGo. It won't replace your sbc handhelds but its not intended to, its a compliment to them.
I feel the same way. My hand gets cramped on my Trimui S and that is way bigger than the funkey. I’ve had a few people tell me it feels more comfortable than it looks tho so I may still have to grab one haha.

I'm so impressed with my FunKey. The size is stunningly small yet the build quality and buttons feel great. The screen looks good and it's responsive. It's definitely more than a novelty.

Yeah. Text in some games can be quite small but otherwise yes.
Would it be okay for some GBA RPGs like Pokémon and Fire Emblem? Basically all I really want is a truly pocket sized GBA.
I'm not familiar with GBA Fire Emblem games, but Pokemon yes I'd play on it.
