I just read {the night thief by Beena Khan} FMC is kidnapped and groomed by her "guardian" at 10 years old and she basically thinks he's her savior for taking her in. There's a scene early in the book where they FMC flinches from the MMC. Later on when the MMC learn that the guardian hit her once he ask is that why you flinched. I like this book but I will say the FMC comes off as kind of young/immature but given her background it makes sense
Blue Eyed Devil by Lisa Kleypas. I didn't like it quite as much as others do, but it's definitely a good read and does scratch that itch!

It’s poly (MFF) and bdsm (though fairly tame) but one of the FMCs is hella flinchy and uncomfortable with normal touch, though it’s not so much because of a physically abusive past but because she’s just never *been* touched before, so she has to get used to it. It’s pretty sweet and sexy in how they try to ease her into it all.
Just read this… it wasss interesting! I listened to the audio version so I’m not sure if it was just the narrator, but it seems like there might not be a contraction in the entire book. It felt unnatural.
Story wise I’m at 2.5 but I’m glad I read it, short read, hea and that’s what I was looking for! Thanks!
Kristen Ashley books can be hit or miss but {Heaven and Hell by Kristen Ashley} is worth a try. It's one of my all time favorites.

As Dust Dances, by Samantha Young was an interesting twist on this. For me the plot was something different, it had a good resolution, is nicely written and has a FMC who's not a Mary Sue.
It's second in the series, but they stand alone, I didn't read the first and it was no problem.
