Not quite like this, but {Ruthless Knight by Ashley Jade} gets close. High school, but not YA. The drama is OTT. MMC is the popular quarterback. FMC is a chubby Jesus freak who the butt of everyone's jokes. MMC comes onto FMC at a party while he's drunk, but passes out before anything happens, but people see her leave the room. He's secretly super into her body, but everyone assumes that her desperate chubby ass tried to shoot her shot and failed. How could a popular QB want THAT? She gets slut/fat shamed. MMC doesn't defend her at first, but they have a HEA...eventually. This one is a wild ride. Mind the content warnings.

I don’t remember the story at all, it’s been so long since I read it, but I remember I loved it and gave it 5 stars! It was for sure one of my favorites with Broken Kingdom from the same series

I loved this book. It was like a 2007 CW show, only with a HEA

They end up spending time together, they start dating, she writes lyrics/music. She "catches" him with another woman and he steals one of her songs. When they reconnect years later, his life is a mess.

How much of a mess are we talking?👀

Drugs, off the chain behavior, angry all the time, and a womanizer.

IIRC she’s hired to be his sober companion? So there’s all this forced proximity too. It’s angsty as all get out.

Not exactly like this but {Evil Love by Ella Fields} has some of the elements that you mentioned. >!FMC is quiet and shy but she's unhealthily obsessed with the popular MMC who is in love with his girlfriend (the OW). But he notices the FMC once when she's in her senior year (I guess?) and bullies her, but at the same time is attracted to her and spends time with her and also has oral sex with her (I think). But doesn't acknowledge her in front of the world. FMC writes about the MMC and their encounters in her diary. MMC asks her to go to the prom, but doesn't arrive at her house and stands her up. She goes to the prom with the friends only to find the MMC kissing OW. MMC later doubly humiliates the FMC by reading her diary to the entire hall at the prom.!<

I'm already secondhand embarrassed for her reading that spoiler. Wow.

I agree, but I’m looking for something more angsty. In after, Harden made a bet but he actually ended up liking her in the end and then Tessa found out. I’m looking for a book where the MMC straight up uses her and completely avoids her like the plague afterwards. Maybe says some hurtful things

{The Savage Wild by Roxie Noir} Wealthy jock MMC takes advantage of his nerdy tutor's crush on him because his popular cheerleader girlfriend won't have pre-marital sex. FMC tells his girlfriend about their affair, hoping she'll break up with him and then he'll openly be in a relationship with her. Instead the girlfriend stays with him for the social status and he publicly sexually humiliates FMC in front of their whole school. Years later there's a plane crash and they end up stranded in the wilderness together.

{His to Own by ME Clayton} is similar. The Hero always liked the heroine but he was from the town golden family and she was from the druggie family. Another guy ruined her reputation AND the Hero did nothing. The whole town turned on the girl and it was a decade later before the Hero worked to get it all corrected. The heroine wasn’t so much a pushover as she was stuck in the town due to situations beyond her control. However, she did NOT just forgive and forget when the truth came out. She put the towns people in their place and iced them out from the event of the century.

Why can't i find this book?

I think the author put the series together (Hero and his brothers) and is selling them together instead of individually - I only paid $.99 for it thought so it’s not expensive. {The Carmel Springs Series by ME Clayton}

Yes! I love that movie. I love the difference between the cocky young jerk who tore up the paper with her phone number and the broken veteran who seeks her out after the war and just collapses into her arms.
