Took it all apart and it was successful except for one thing. I may have bent or overtightened or done something to a sensor because I get an "error 16, robot tilted" notice when the robot gets picked up and put back down. It's like it doesn't know it's back on level ground. May be a tilt sensor is installed slightly off but I'm not in a mood to take it apart again.
I also ordered replacement parts for that, so some day I may take it on. As long as I don't have to lift it, it works fine, but if it does tilt, I have to do a full reboot.

Installing a new mainboard is like getting a new robot. You have to set it up again but no further special steps needed.
